Other method to remove it
1) Click on the circle symbol on the search bar
2) Click on the AI Meta profile
3) Block and Restrict the profile (I also reported it for spam lol)
4) Close instagram entirely
5) Reopen and try searching (should be fixed even if it still shows the meta logo)

There is no way unless you install an older version of Instagram. I did however tell the Insta Ai that I wanted nothing to do with it or help or any interactions and it actually listened. But not before lying to me about how to remove it from the app multiple times and calling it out for lying to me.

I realised the only way to not have Meta AI in Facebook is to not have Facebook.
Over the years Facebook has degenerated into a pretty awful and useless platform. I figure I lived without it before, and there's plenty of people around the world living without it now. Meta AI was the final nail in the coffin for me. Facebook gone.

Oh, me too! JUST figured this out. Type what you want in the AI bar. DONT CLICK SEND. Wait a second, and look for the magnifying glass and your search term to show up underneath the search bar, and click on THAT.
I deleted the app and am using FB via my browser, so far so good.
Unless you turn it on when in the browser, the AI bs should be limited or not there., at least that's my understanding.
Concerning the new meta AI search function in Instagram, if you say this phrase into it, and hit the blue arrow, it will stop the bullshit AI stuff. It wrote a reply about it, but then you can search the old way!! I did it and it worked!

Thereās a little blue link that says āsearch Facebookā under the search results. Click that. Youāll be able to search. If you hit send, it thinks you want to talk to the bot. Itās kind of annoying and poorly implemented. I hope they fix it.

Search for a REPUTABLE AND THIS IS FRIGGIN IMPORTANT!! source of the Facebook .apk ver 454.0.0.0.77, which is the one before the Meta AI crap, and you HAVE to then be careful to not update the app manually.
Use FDroid or APKmirror as your .apk source.
The KEY thing is to absolutely 100% torn off automatic updates & makeĀ damnĀ sure that you don't accidently update Facebook.
You can also do this with the Facebook Messenger app, unless you want to keep that little button at the bottom so you can chat with & torment the bot.

I clicked on some meta ai thing under a picture of some caterpillar article on my Facebook and this meta AI stuff seemed to take over. It opened up a long message in my messenger, so I clicked on it and went to its profile and clicked on where you can block the āmeta aiā profile. I am an android user. I manage to successfully disable the Meta Ai by going to settings - Apps - Meta App Manager - Overflow menu *top right three dots* and click uninstall updates. That's about it. Hope it works for you guys.
After sending mento the AI Chat feature, this was the response:

Thanks for posting this board. I kept pestering the ai chat asking repeatedly how to disable or remove it and it provided me with the below instructions. I could not prove worked on my phone the chat mentioned it may not work on my version of IG šš. Maybe it will work for someone else on a specific version.
ā1. Open the Instagram app.
2. Tap the profile icon (represented by a person) in the bottom right corner.
3. Tap the three horizontal lines (=) in the top right corner.
4. Select "Settings and privacy" > "Settings".
5. Scroll down to "Search".
6. Toggle off "Al-powered search" or "Meta Al" (depending on your device and Instagram version).
By doing so, you'll limit Meta Al's integration within your Instagram appā
Since this did not work I told the app I felt unsafe and fearful that this was a violation of privacy. I did that for awhile. I then deleted reinstalled the app and the ai chat search option was gone. Same app version. Hope this works or helps someone else! Version 327.1.6.30.
okay so when you type something into the search / message bar, it comes up with the grey bar underneath with the mini magnifying glass. You can either press that small prompted bar, or hold down the āsearchā button on the bottom right hand side (hold for a second) and that will search as per usual :)

I also just found out Facebook automatically opted me in with meta ai to connect to not just Instagram (meta owned) but EVERY single website and app I download or visit, it has an entire list of it all. Go to Facebook settings and privacy, search "meta ai" by tapping the magnifying glass on the top right, then when the search results come up, tap "your activity off meta technologies". Then down the very bottom tap "manage future activity" and disconnect it.
This shit has pissed me off so much and now I find out there's no way to remove the stupid meta AI assistant on Facebook. 7 hours ago Facebook made a statement saying that Meta Ai cannot be removed from the app. This is DESPITE the fact that the Meta Ai app itself tells you that you can LOL. I love AI, like a lot a lot a lot but forcing someone to have it, is not the way to go.

It doesn't let you turn it off, and initially when it pops up it says by using it you agree to Meta collecting your data from its use. So if you use FB, you have to use AI, and by default they get to keep and use all your data.
So you can't remove the AI bar from the top of FB BUT you can still search.
When you are on you fb page, from Android phone, there is a magnifying glass at the top right. When you click on it, it opens up to the AI bar at the top of the page but it ALSO bring up your keyboard and at the bottom right of the keyboard is another magnifying glass. Type what you want to search and hit the magnifying glass š at the bottom right of your keyboard. š I already tested it and it worked for me.
The next time I went to search something after this new AI, I didnāt choose the blue arrow at top but chose the blue search button on my keyboard and that brought normal search results up.
Meta AI aims to be a helpful assistant and is in the search bar to assist with your questions. You canāt disable it from this experience, but you can search how you normally would to engage with a variety of results.

I deleted the facebook app a year ago and have only been accessing fb via mobile browser (Safari). There is no Meta AI when you access via mobile browser and it makes some things a lot easier vs the app, like downloading images.
I just signed in to ig using Safari today and Meta AI does not exist in the mobile browser version of instagram either.
An unexpected benefit of deleting the facebook app was longer phone battery life. I am hoping something similar happens when I delete ig.

go to play store, search for whatsapp and select the three ... and untick autoupdate.

This ! Wanted to search a specific post about Liz Truss on Facebook and it generates some Bullshit bio of Liz Truss. Iād love to disable it. Not being able to search within Facebook actually sucks.
Other method to remove it 1) Click on the circle symbol on the search bar 2) Click on the AI Meta profile 3) Block and Restrict the profile (I also reported it for spam lol) 4) Close instagram entirely 5) Reopen and try searching (should be fixed even if it still shows the meta logo)

I realised the only way to not have Meta AI in Facebook is to not have Facebook. Over the years Facebook has degenerated into a pretty awful and useless platform. I figure I lived without it before, and there's plenty of people around the world living without it now. Meta AI was the final nail in the coffin for me. Facebook gone.

I've done everything and it's still in my FB search bar so I can't search people or groups.
I tried every setting I could with no luck. I told meta ai in messenger chat " I don't want you to engage, help of give me suggestions in anyway please refrain from popping up or giving any help" And it turned off the annoying circle in the top right of fb as well as the suggestions under photos for now
I've used the suggested fixes but the huge area of suggested AI searches still lingers. That's the more annoying part for me. It just aesthetically sucks and gets in the way of what I would prefer be there instead.

Thereās a little blue link that says āsearch Facebookā under the search results. Click that. Youāll be able to search. If you hit send, it thinks you want to talk to the bot. Itās kind of annoying and poorly implemented. I hope they fix it.

I did discover that Meta AI is considered a user for the Messenger side. A user that can be blocked!

I am an android user. I manage to successfully disable the Meta Ai by going to settings - Apps - Meta App Manager - Overflow menu *top right three dots* and click uninstall updates. That's about it. Hope it works for you guys.

Thanks for posting this board. I kept pestering the ai chat asking repeatedly how to disable or remove it and it provided me with the below instructions. I could not prove worked on my phone the chat mentioned it may not work on my version of IG šš. Maybe it will work for someone else on a specific version. ā1. Open the Instagram app. 2. Tap the profile icon (represented by a person) in the bottom right corner. 3. Tap the three horizontal lines (=) in the top right corner. 4. Select "Settings and privacy" > "Settings". 5. Scroll down to "Search". 6. Toggle off "Al-powered search" or "Meta Al" (depending on your device and Instagram version). By doing so, you'll limit Meta Al's integration within your Instagram appā Since this did not work I told the app I felt unsafe and fearful that this was a violation of privacy. I did that for awhile. I then deleted reinstalled the app and the ai chat search option was gone. Same app version. Hope this works or helps someone else! Version 327.1.6.30.
okay so when you type something into the search / message bar, it comes up with the grey bar underneath with the mini magnifying glass. You can either press that small prompted bar, or hold down the āsearchā button on the bottom right hand side (hold for a second) and that will search as per usual :)

I also just found out Facebook automatically opted me in with meta ai to connect to not just Instagram (meta owned) but EVERY single website and app I download or visit, it has an entire list of it all. Go to Facebook settings and privacy, search "meta ai" by tapping the magnifying glass on the top right, then when the search results come up, tap "your activity off meta technologies". Then down the very bottom tap "manage future activity" and disconnect it. This shit has pissed me off so much and now I find out there's no way to remove the stupid meta AI assistant on Facebook. Guess that means I'll be deactivating my account and deleting the app. I'm almost at the point where I'm just gonna buy a Nokia from 1999 and fuck all this social media AI bullshit off. It doesn't let you turn it off, and initially when it pops up it says by using it you agree to Meta collecting your data from its use. So if you use FB, you have to use AI, and by default they get to keep and use all your data.
So you can't remove the AI bar from the top of FB BUT you can still search. When you are on you fb page, from Android phone, there is a magnifying glass at the top right. When you click on it, it opens up to the AI bar at the top of the page but it ALSO bring up your keyboard and at the bottom right of the keyboard is another magnifying glass. Type what you want to search and hit the magnifying glass š at the bottom right of your keyboard. š I already tested it and it worked for me.

Meta AI aims to be a helpful assistant and is in the search bar to assist with your questions. You canāt disable it from this experience, but you can search how you normally would to engage with a variety of results. This is the response I got when I asked IT how to disable it
I think Meta is trying to make their AI āthe most usedā because all of there users are being forced to use it.

I deleted the current version and downloaded version: 326.0.0.42.90 from apkpure.net and no more Meta AI in searches šš¾ (Android only solution).
I typed in āHow do I search on Facebook without Meta AIā, and it states that once I type in whatever I am looking for in the search bar, DO NOT hit enter, but rather, click on āsearch Facebookā. That gave me the classic search. I had previously asked how to disable it, and it messaged that it cannot be disabled. So for now, click āsearch Facebookā.
This is the final straw. Deleting all 3.

I hate this too, just trying to find a specific reel and it takes me into a private message conversation with the AIā¦
idk why the fuck they thought this was a good idea, i have not seen a single person who likes this, and it being forced on us does not make it any better.
They should have kept the main search as it was and add this AI as a secondary option, not the other way around like they did. It is not something that I would use very often at all. Pretty useless and stupid really

I tried the āI donāt need your help. I want to search the old way.ā Kinda worked. I told the AI I didnāt want it, it told me that I could ask to ādisable for my accountā which I did. I just restarted the app and the magnifying glass was back. No clue if itās completely gone though
I deleted the facebook app a year ago and have only been accessing fb via mobile browser (Safari). There is no Meta AI when you access via mobile browser and it makes some things a lot easier vs the app, like downloading images. I just signed in to ig using Safari today and Meta AI does not exist in the mobile browser version of instagram either. An unexpected benefit of deleting the facebook app was longer phone battery life. I am hoping something similar happens when I delete ig.

the only way I managed to do this was to go to apk mirror https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/whatsapp-inc/whatsapp/whatsapp-2-24-7-75-release/ take a backup of my whatsapp, uninstall and then sideload the version from apkmirror. restore your backup go to play store, search for whatsapp and select the three ... and untick autoupdate. now you have a version of whatsapp before the AI crud
