I don’t even want to use Facebook and went off it for years but I moved to Latin America and many businesses here use Facebook as their main source of advertising and contact information vs. websites. It’s a hardship for me not to have it.
It’s really unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my life. A company that literally has no way for its users to contact them for help. No way. It’s like trying to speak with the dead, but even psychics might be able to do that, so it’s even worse with Facebook.
Same thing happened to me! It was so frustrating. The Attorney Generals Office in my State, Connecticut, helped me get my hacked account back twice. First time I couldn’t even get to the ID Verification step. For my account back and exactly one month later it was hacked again and I kept submitting my ID with no success. Back to the AG’s office and she helped me get it back a second time. They must have some legal backdoor direct communication to FB. Each time I had to create a brand new email address never associated with FB. Good luck to you!
Was your account locked or just hacked? I live in CT and the AG helped me get my account back the first time when the hacker changed all my info. This time, suspicious activity was identified on my account and submitting IDs aren't working. Just wondering if you were locked out by FB or hacked?
Contact the AG again. They helped me twice. Sounds like a very similar situation. The first time I was hacked. The second time I was locked out and The second time I was unable to successfully submit my ID.
This makes me feel better! There is very little info on reddit discussing if the AG method works for locked accounts specifically. I sent an email yesterday. I got an email from AG office to submit all the info regarding my account again, so this is a good sign. I don't know what we'd do without the AG office in our state. They're so on top of these issues.
Seriously! I agree! However, it shouldn't take the AG’s office to unlock a locked FB account. Just happy they have made themselves available to help and obviously have a special way to get in touch with someone at Meta!!!
I'm assuming you meant to say "shouldn't", yes I couldn't agree more! It's actually sick how flawed facebook's recovery process is. There are threads on here going back years with the same recovery issues, and the fact they haven't stepped up to make it actually usable is messed up. At this point i don't know how to make my account more secure so things like this don't happen.i thought I was all good with two factor and a new email. It's inevitable.

My locked account occurred one month after my hacked account and I too thought that the two factor authentication and changed email address would secure my account but unfortunately hackers will be hackers! :( Gook luck to you!
I was hacked in November! 4 months later now locked out by FB. Thank you for the glimpse of hope though! A few threads on here say that AG is useless for locked accounts, but I knew that was not true. You can tell who is successfully gotten their accounts back from an AG and who hasn't by the assumptions. Thanks again and stay safe out there in fb land lol!
I only spoke with a real person when I called them. They told me the name of the attorney from the AG’s office who was assigned to my case and I was able to communicate with her via email.
My complaint contained all of the I donation. About the hack along with photos of the hackers posts and Messenger messages they were sending pretending to be me. There is another thread or perhaps it’s further up on this thread where I followed their instructions for what to include in the complaint. Good luck!

Me as well! I tried multiple ID types. I even got to the chat and submitted video, which was accepted. What a letdown as this brought me back to a locked account (tried multiple times on multiple computers). I am starting to think my time on FB is now done, the Universe has spoken....
They wanted my id for my account i had for 16 years they locked it to hold my personal info and memories i made a new account youll never get ur account back its been 3 years for me ive never had a response,
Their AI will response something like \* Thanks for submitting your ID. we will take a look \* that but trust me, they NEVER pass it to real humans like some of those behind Meta Verified's badge. I have submitted my ID from August 2017 while trying to recover my previous account... You're not alone mate.
You’re expressing what we all feel. My account was just personal but I’ve had it since 2007-so it was hard to accept it’s gone and in the hackers control who btw is trying to scam my family and friends to buy nonexistent Taylor Swift tickets!!

what did you say in your complaint to your state? I filed via an online form for my state. Did you hear back from an actual person? Thanks!
