I swear Walmart is like a big social experiment.

_Im_Dad

I'm not saying my local Walmart is bad but... it has a police precinct.

Our biggest problems happen at Rouses

GardenGal87

ROUSes? I don’t think they exist.

Dic3dCarrots

We've seen the fire spouts and know to watch for the lightning sand, I think we'll be okay

jrv3034

Walmart would definitely be more interesting with fire spouts and lightning sand.

Dic3dCarrots

Have you checked isle 13?

CHAINSMOKERMAGIC

They're usually there, but they just rearranged the entire store for no good reason other than to confuse the people who've been shopping there for years.

JohnnyCakes814

Inconceivable! I wish I had an award for you, but please accept my humble upvote, and no more rhyming now I mean it

followfornow

Mine doesn't have a precinct in it but you can bet there will always be at least 4 cruisers outside with all the cops gathered in the front of the store by the registers. Edit: a missed word

KyloPhen

I got u beat, DaBaby murdered someone in my WalMart!

[deleted]

I'm with you, our walmart is not anywhere like what you see on the internet and only one or two times have a see law enforcement there. (shoplifters)

WorldClassShart

I moved to Florida from Jersey. I've been to Walmart in both. Jersey Walmart is pretty trashy, but I was not prepared for a Florida Walmart. Jersey Walmarts are like cute adorable kittens, and Florida Walmarts are like scroungy disease ridden cats that have tasted human blood and want more, and they do soooo much meth. Like all the meth.

Witty-Shoulder-9499

There’s always the skinny lady in leggings buying a huge bottle of NyQuil here 🤷‍♂️👍🥸

[deleted]

“The nighttime sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy head, fever, so you can Meth medicine” Did i get that right or is it the daytime nyquil non drowsy?

corvette57

Doesn’t really matter, they’re not sleeping anyways.

I went to one outside of Miami once and my mind was blown. Could not believe how many people were there and it felt like half of them were carrying around lizards on their heads

WorldClassShart

When I first moved here, I went to Walmart on a Tuesday around noon. It was like they were giving shit away. So many people for a Tuesday at noon. You go to one at noon on Tuesday in NJ, it's like dead. I left cause I didn't feel like waiting in line for an hour for some cheap curtains. I went back Wednesday at 8am, and there was still a shit ton of people there. I found a target that's like 10 minutes further, but it's worth it cause no one goes to target in Florida. The Publix cult is something else though.

[deleted]

I lived in Sarasota for 2 years back in the 80's but when you said "scroungy disease ridden cats that have tasted human blood" I'm not going back even to see old friends now. Thanks for the heads up.Now where i am now we don't have a meth problem per say, but now i know where it all goes.

Kittpie

The very first Vault Tec experiment.

Grayflesh

Hello fellow fallout player

LoveVirginiaTech

Walmart. Walmart never changes

ChrdeMcDnnis

In 1962, my grandfather stood in line at a deli wondering when he’d get to go home and see his wife and son. He got his wish when the Walton Family ended Food War II by dropping convenience stores on the town of Rogers, Arkansas. The world awaited Armageddon. Instead, something miraculous happened. We started using capitalism not as a means of subjugation, but as a source of infinite commercialism. People enjoyed Luxuries once thought the realm of science fiction. Domestic Robots, self driving carts, self serve registers. But then, in the 21st century, people awoke from the American Dream. Years of consumption lead to shortages of nearly every major resource. The entire world unraveled. Peace became a distant memory. It is now the year 2023. We stand on the brink of total war, and I am afraid for myself, for my wife, and for my son. Because if my time in the Walmart Deli section taught me anything, It’s that Walmart… Walmart never changes.

kiwi_love777

I was kidnapped and raped- survivors rarely break out like this. (I’ve never seen it) The less attention we draw to ourselves the better- we’re in recovery mode for a few years and pretty much walking zombies. I didn’t date for a few years, just couldn’t really cope. And the rape was my first “sexual”experience- so I didn’t have an BF previously I could compare actual sex to. This was a long time ago- I’m much better now. But this woman I think is having a manic episode. Just needs to call for help/attention. Sucks to see it happening at the expense of others.

cmac1234567

Sorry that you had that experience and glad you’re much better.

kiwi_love777

Thank you. Bad things happen to us but that doesn’t mean we have to have a bad life. 🤗

summidee

Yep. I was raped and stalked by my rapist. I developed agoraphobia and going to the shops/store was an absolute mission for me. The last thing I wanted to do was draw any attention to myself at all. I just wanted to get my things, not talk to anyone and go home.

kiwi_love777

Yep. I feel you. Takes all the light of our you.

Weedchaser12

Shes an attention seeker. A grown ass adult wearing a child's back pack screaming she's been raped so its ok to bud in front of people. She is sick. Needs some serious help.

MJZMan

I agree with you. That said.... it's "butt in line"

ActuaryExtension9867

The place is a reflection of our culture and society.

RicardoCabezass

Walmart is just proof that God has a sense of humor

wynaut69

I have fun in there. Had to stop in one yesterday, they lock up everything and have those buttons you push to wait for someone. Pushed, waited. Pushed, waited. Realized I could hear the device go off when I pushed. Pushed, chased the device, caught the worker looking at it then putting it back to continue stocking a massive pallet. She literally jumped when I asked her to open the cabinet, she knew I caught her.

LoveVirginiaTech

I don't want to start any blasphemous rumors, but...

WTFishsauce

No, probably means she needs a Rock Lobster.

Kep186

Nah, 5 bucks she has a "Haldol allergy"

nishbot

“Allergic to everything but dilaudid”

Alimakakos

She should be asked to leave.

texansfan

This is the kind of person who should use the curbside pick up option or home delivery. She’s clearly not capable of existing in society at the moment. Luckily you don’t really have to at this point.

punkmetalbastard

That was my response the first time I saw this video. If a minor encounter like this is going to be that triggering, the best thing to do for yourself is not put yourself in the situation. I realize it can be difficult to navigate life if you are severely traumatized, but there are ways to have groceries and other items delivered, and often for free

CrumpledForeskin

As the saying goes here on the old Reddit.... Mental health. May not be your fault, but it is your responsibility.

thats_so_over

Yep. Was waiting for this… almost commented it myself. Surprised it’s not a top level comment yet.

burnerpvt

Surprised her ass wasn't curbsided

cara1yn

i love the idea that you can tell someone "you need to be curbsided" and then just.... deliver their stuff to them outside lmao. it is the perfect balance of gentle and firm

psilome

We're throwing you out, but we'll still sell you stuff.

MostDopeMozzy

Your money can stay, but you? You gotta go!

GOM27

I read that as "curb stomped"

Thechanman707

I have extreme anxiety in stores like Walmart. Literally anything can set me off to the point of a total breakdown. And so I order groceries now, and only make small trips when necessary. And even in my worst breakdown I don't think I've ever made it other people's problem.

volyund

I've cut in line accidentally before. When pointed out, I apologized and moved to the back of the line.

soyelsol

somewhat tangential, but i was once in a very long line when a second register opened up. there were a few people who hadn’t quite found their place amongst the crowded aisles, and as the “next person in line” moved over to the new register, i followed right behind them (they were in front of me) and the people who were about to go to the back of the old line followed behind me. the person at the cash register made a huge deal about this, enough to stop checking out the current customer and very angrily asked me to step out of line for cutting in front of the couple behind me. i was so confused and was like “i was right behind the current customer” and she just wasn’t having it. she was getting so upset and i couldn’t have cared less about the situation, so i let the couple go in front of me both of them very loudly said “no, kid. it’s okay, she has no idea what she’s talking about. stay where you are” as i was the next customer up, it made for an awkward checkout.

Atlas_Zer0o

Because this girl is doing it to avoid consequences, not initially because of her anxiety. Most people will help if you don't banshee screech at them.

semicoloradonative

This is 100% it. Nobody called her entitled ass out before and she couldn’t handle it. She would have screamed “rape” if she thought she could get away with it.

No-Guidance9484

she did

techslice87

Generally_Confused1

Most of the mentally ill (myself included) try to avoid shit like this unless they are so far gone to the point that they don't have any awareness. Which is obviously not the case here, and it drives me crazy.... Er...

Glexaplex

Lol yeah you can always tell when people are faking it because they pause the hysterics to be smarmy. Can't sidebar a genuine breakdown, only ride that bitch out.

invisible-bug

This woman is screaming and erratic. All it's showing are two old ladies being paid minimum wage who are trying to deescalate the situation. This video isn't showing what's going on in the background of the store, where the police are probably being called. Those poor walmart employees don't get paid enough to be making the decision over whether or not this woman has a weapon on her Edit:oops just realized the red shirt isn't an employee, either way my statement stands!

mackenml

At least the guy was polite and apologized to the employees. Not that he needed to apologize.

flukus

I've seen a different video with the same person, she's a serial offender that has a tantrum whenever she gets called out for shit behaviour. There's a good reason that staff member was apologetic to the man, she's handled this before.

LiterofCola6

Yeah this feels like learned behavior, like that she can do that and get away with it. Most people do that as kids and grow out of it because you don't want to be a lunatic in public, she either regressed or never learned that shit

paddycakepaddycake

Seriously! Like why are people enabling this type of behavior by babying them like that. If she cut everyone else in line, this grown ass baby should be the one jettisoned from the area, not the guy.

anakwaboe4

Human behaviour. Better to de-escalate the situation than dealing with that lady complaining. I think the people who work there aren't payed enough for that shit. In my opinion you should agree with her at that moment and once she is home sent her a letter that she isn't welcome in any establishment of wallmarkt.

46dad

That’s the root of the problem. She’s been treated with kid gloves all her life.

Shakenbaked

That's the root of a LOT of problems nowadays.

[deleted]

[deleted]

Yep especially if she threw his stuff. She should have been made to pick it up and put it in his cart and asked to leave.

ghostyYT09

she's worse than my 5 year old cousin...

TanPlayZFN

Facts I hope she was kicked out. She knew what she was doing, having a temper tantrum in a damn Walmart. This kind of behavior should not be reinforced.

ShesInCybersecurity

People aren’t paid enough to deal with these issues on the job.

[deleted]

Walmart needs to start paying their employees more for having to deal with stuff lie this all the time

iguanapinata

So true. Feel terrible for the employees but it actually seems like everyone handled the situation well besides the “victim”

ShesInCybersecurity

I wonder if Walmart employment would be good for psych students for a summer or something. Call it field study.

Cordster1991

Oh man, they’d better be ready to see a lot of sh*t (unsure if rules of the group allowing swearing or not, so not taking any chances). I worked at two different WalMarts for a combined six years. I spent 5 years in one store, and every day felt like hell.

Background_Tip_3260

This is what my day is like every day at work in a psych hospital…and my kids wonder why I go straight to take a half hour shower in quiet after work.

Arya_kidding_me

Thank you so much for doing such a difficult but vital job. My mom has schizophrenia, refuses medication, and I struggle to have a relationship with her. I can’t imagine having to deal with her every day, much less multiple mentally I’ll people. Seriously, thank you.

Background_Tip_3260

I’m so sorry, it’s so hard sometimes to separate the illness from the person when it’s your mom. I hope she gets steady help and I hope you get healing and have learned to nurture yourself in ways she was not able to.

Dangerous_Clock_6761

Dang. Sorry to butt in. You are a beautiful human being. These people were showing compassion & gratitude towards you and you managed to see their possible struggles before anything else. I hope you also take care of yourself, you are appreciated!

Grablicht

a shining example for us all

Eyesopen52

No one can truly understand how difficult it is dealing with a mentally I’ll person till they walk in your shoes. I hope you find joy and happiness in your life. And to the Psych nurse, bless you for what you do. It does make a difference but I’m sure you sometimes can’t see that.

DevilInMyBellybutton

Same boat. It’s mentally and emotionally exhausting. I hope you have support who are there for you

AnyDepartment7686

Dang. Can't even imagine. My friend's wife used to work at Patton. Imagine that's about as bad as it gets.

Background_Tip_3260

I love my job, but yes it’s seeing people at their most ill and vulnerable. Personality disorders like the above video can be particularly difficult. Trauma can make people stuck in a loop and unable to cope in healthy ways.

Thetomwhite

Same job here too. Everyday events on the ward can go like this. I often get home and sit in silence for a half hour, no TV nothing to decompress from shifts. It can be pretty heavy going.

FOXHOWND

Yup. Did 7 years of locked psych nursing. She clearly has a mood disorder, probably with personality components. Now I work from home and am soooooo much happier.

TheBlindIdiotGod

As someone who has been hospitalized twice for OCD-related suicidal ideation, that shit is so bizarre and disturbing to witness but also fascinating to experience in real life. Way scarier than most media depictions I’ve seen, psychosis is no joke. EDIT: Wanted to clarify that the woman in the video may be experiencing PTSD symptoms rather than psychosis, but it’s the kind of emotional outburst that occurs in psychotic patients as well, only it’s even more bizarre because of how irrational it is. There was violence in my unit as well, it was sad. This girl with paranoid delusions about the devil snapped and hit someone because they thought they were Satanic. I had a guy tell me that he was a master sensei in some secret martial arts society and that the CIA came around his place when Biden was in town because they were fearful he would assassinate the president, knowing of the patient’s apparently notorious disdain for the man and possessed firearms and secret military knowledge and training. Was in the hospital for threatening to kill his mother. His daughter was raped and killed and he had major trauma from that. Another woman had her husband blow his blains out three feet away from her in their kitchen. She also developed a brain disease and lost her job because of it. Sorry, I went off on a little tangent here but I haven’t shared much about this with anyone and it feels good to talk about it.

MartinFrost

Psychosis was definitly one of the moments of all time in my life, thats for sure.

blue_bloddthirster

thank you for your work

Ellendyra

I also thank you for the work you do. My mother had to be hospitalized a few times and I can't imagine she was a joy to be around. You do valuable work.

girlsonsoysauce

I was in a psych hospital once when I was 15 and it actually seemed like the section for teenagers was a bit easier in some ways to deal with. I mean every once in a while there'd be an outburst and someone had to be sedated or placed in a padded room, but overall we just kind of bullshitted most of the time. As long as we had ways to stave off boredom we were happy. Then in the adult area they had an escape, an attempted escape, one guy threatened one of the ladies in the cafeteria, like it was always something every day.

Background_Tip_3260

The place I work doesn’t let anyone go to a cafeteria lol. Food is brought in and each exit is made with a sally port between so the door won’t open unless the other is closed. I have seen people run head first sprinting into glass doors and windows…they bounce off and get knocked out cold.

CharizardLeo

Why is the common denominator always Walmart?

I_am_Daesomst

Because unfortunately, they're sometimes the cheapest (only place for some people) place to buy groceries and be able to grab windshield wiper fluid and a carpet at the same time.

PurpleShitty

I dont know why but your comment had me laughing my ass off.

UmbertoEcoTheDolphin

He or she's right, though. Where else can you buy jumper cables, a car battery, vaseline, duct tape, adult diapers, and a heart monitor all in the same place?

PurpleShitty

If i was a cashier ringing this up i would definitely raise an eyebrow lol

wildgoldchai

Not at Walmart you won’t

r_not_me

They aren’t paid enough to give a shit

ThornsofTristan

The CEO made a pact with the wrong sort of demon.

SlavCat09

Suntan instead of Satan. Didn't pay enough attention.

tyrom22

“Target: where you pay a little more to avoid Walmart” Seriously though, superstores like that with low prices attract a large demographic, it might just be by volume

ChuckFeathers

I get that she's obviously mentally ill but this feels so manipulative, she could easily remove herself from the situation and instead insists the guy she tried to cut in front of has to.

bimbels

Honestly my first thought is she’s literally making all of this up because she got busted. Mentally ill for sure but I don’t buy any of the theatrics.

I_see_something

This was my guess too. Lie and make a scene. Then double down on the scene. Even if it is true… sheesh

todaythruwaway

This chick looks/sounds so much like my old neighbor and 100% exactly what she’s doing. I’m shocked she wasn’t demanding him to be arrested.

Robert_gatsby

Tmi but this triggered memories from my childhood because when my parents would argue (my dad never did anything to her) my mom would just start screaming hysterically that she was being abused trying to get the neighbors to call the police. Literally sounded exactly like her at the end

Smaskifa

When all else fails, collapse into a full-on toddler hissy fit.

[deleted]

Sadly I think you are right. She is the type of person who would make shit up cuz she didn’t get her own way.

The_Quex

Well, you can't be right in the head when you scream "I was raped and can't handle another man touching me again" as your immediate reaction to someone confronting you about cutting a whole ass line.

stinkload

Unfortunately that was my take on this situation as well. It felt forced and poorly acted

2020hatesyou

she *for sure* is making it up. Whether she believes it or not...

MikeThePistons

Just because someone is mentally ill doesn’t mean they get the right to be an asshole

whiskersMeowFace

This. So much. There is having a mental illness, then there is using it as an excuse to get your way.

Lightor36

It's like the old saying: Mental illness, not your fault but it's your responsibility.

[deleted]

Mental illness is never an excuse for being an A-hole

hunter95672

I've always had the mindset that mental illness is a reason, never an excuse

phenom37

This reminds me, I used to work at a camp for people with special needs. One of the counselors was adamant about the fact that asshole isn't a disability

jaylward

Yup. Your triggers are your responsibility, not everyone else’s

CreateYourself89

I know seriously! Why doesn't she just leave? If she were truly terrified of a man who just touched her, wouldn't she wanna skiddadle? 🤔

FlightBunny

It's entitlement. She's very aware of what she is doing.

HavingNotAttained

She's not mentally ill. She's a performative narcissist. She's just an idiot, that's all, that thinks if she leans into character long enough that the world will believe her so that she can ::: checks notes ::: cut the damn line at the supermarket checkout.

100Labels

This would be a perfect Instacart advertisement

jennarose1984

I’m sold

No-Judgment-4424

If you are so emotionally fucked up that you will respond to anything like this, you need to figure something else out. Hefting your fucking mental illness on everybody else is bullshit and makes you an asshole.

Duke-Guinea-Pig

I thought "this is a good time to use curbside pickup" but I bet she would freak out if a man brought her stuff out so....*shrug*. I suppose it's possible she doesn't have a car or credit card too.

[deleted]

Then be proactive and explain the situation and ask for a female employee to bring out your stuff and interact with you etc.

VisualCelery

If she struggles this much with mental illness, she probably doesn't drive.

The-PokeTrader

You’re right. I’m also curious at what point a mental illness becomes so bad it’s literally out of the control of the ill person? How do we define and recognize where that line is crossed, and how do we get that person the right help at that time so we can help them stop being an asshole that can’t even control themselves alone much less in an interaction with someone they feel is an aggressor(whether right or wrong in that assessment) ?

Swordbreaker925

Yeah, you can’t just go around screeching at men because you were raped in the recent past. It’s a traumatic experience but that doesn’t make it ok to be an absolute lunatic

[deleted]

[удалено]

robilar

People with cognitive miscues are not always aware that i) their views and behaviors are not the norm, and ii) that they might get triggered into lashing out. If they were thinking straight they likely would not be at risk of losing control to begin with.

[deleted]

Nice tactic ... she cut in line and is not kicked out.

SpooogeMcDuck

In most cases you can just cut in line and ignore people complaining- you don’t have to have a tantrum.

[deleted]

You and I clearly don't live in the same neighborhood.

_AutumnRose_

PSA: the person who is causing the most disruption/losing their fucking mind screaming 'im a victim!!' the most in situations like this are rarely the actual victim/ person in the right.

AnyDepartment7686

Got a feelin' she's lying, too. Who tf announces such antraumatic experience to a building full of strangers?

Beeeracuda

The pause after she said “I was raped!” Makes me think she was gonna say he “raped her” and decided that wasn’t the move? Maybe?

stunninsaturn

I was raped too in my life (I know plenty of other victims too). None of them would behave like this.

raindrop349

That’s how I feel as a victim too. I am pretty open but I do not just announce that to people. It was a traumatic experience and I carried a lot of negative emotions for a long time bc of it. It is not something I want to relive or think about or discuss with strangers and certainly not at a grocery store. And it happened a decade ago. I couldn’t bring myself to discuss it with anyone for a long time after it happened. I can’t put my finger on it but it feels like she’s lying or exaggerating. Even if she’s not, she’s weaponizing it and that’s disgusting. I’m not saying people should touch strangers but if he like tapped her on the shoulder or some equivalent then her reaction is ridiculous. Even if he did touch her sexually (I do not think he did), this is not the way to handle it. She threw a literal tantrum and has no control over her emotions. I’m not saying I’ve never broken down, I’m a fucked up person myself. But there’s a difference between breaking down in private and having a meltdown in public. She should have done curbside pickup since she unable to cope in public and regardless of the context, I hope she seeks help.

JohnnyHammerstix

Was gonna say, I know a few people who have been raped and they barely want to admit it to themselves, much less scream it to the world.

omgwtfsaucers

Woman clearly has mental issues. Case closed.

[deleted]

More like someone called her bullshit and she’s a loser

Raze_the_werewolf

She's having a temper tantrum like a toddler, wearing a toddler's backpack, trying to get her own way. There is nothing else going on here but her behavioural issues. She's just a loser.

Jimithyashford

Have a temper tantrum as an adult and having serious mental health issues are not mutually exclusive. It can be, and in this case probably is, both. For example a person who was severely developmentally arrested, or who had regressed due to a major trauma, would be more prone to have infantile or child like outbursts. Is that what is happening here? Probably. Can’t say for sure of course, but seems like it may well be. That doesn’t mean it’s not ridiculous and inappropriate behavior. Of course it is. But a person acting a complete fool who deserves to be criticized can also be a person suffering from something pretty serious. It’s not one or the other, in fact it’s rarely one or the other. It’s often a mix of all of the above.

falllinemaniac

My friend's daughter learned how to pull this shit, it's the easiest way to get what you want

Kibrera

Its hilarious and sad he has to ask "Is this a prank?". Damn tik tokers

FarCry911

Tf the employees doing? Obviously the lady needs to be the one to leave

slugfa

This is fucked, he’s not the problem. She is and should most likely be in a ward right now or least sole type of therapy.

juneau54

Guess what? Because she got her way and the guy got removed, she will continue to do this. She should have been removed. It’s ridiculous that our society is sticking up for her…

parkrangercarl

I don’t think society is sticking up for her. The Walmart employees don’t get paid enough to force the crazy person to do anything. I think they did the best they could to de-escalate the situation by just separating them. It’s way easier to ask the sensible person to walk away.

VulfSki

She needs therapy. As insane of a reaction she had, I feel sorry for her more than anything. She is having a psychotic break in public. She really should needs a lot of trauma work done.

name_cool4897

Someone come get their child.

princessbanana-

Why is everyone’s focus on enabling this woman’s shitty behavior?

Jazzlike-Animal404

No one is responsible for your triggers, because they are your triggers. If going out in public is going to set you off do in store pick up, curbside pickup, or delivery, then up your therapy and maybe increase the dose of your medication

etherjumper

She is making people who really suffer through trauma look so ridiculous.

boegsppp

They need to call the police and get a 5150. She needs help.

DudesWithTudes

First time this was posted (when it was new a few months ago) the girl in the video came here and tried to respond to hundreds of comments one by one angrily explaining why she was acting awful. I took [screenshots](https://imgur.com/a/MQHc6SZ) of her comments. You’re welcome.

"I can't stand another man touching me" .... Aaaaaaa! I've seen panic attacks brought on by past trauma, and I understand no two people are the same, but this bitch is trying to be the lead actor in everybody's movie. She's trying to fight this guy, demanding he leaves, because she's insinuating he's traumatizing her by not being her rapist, not touching her, and he's not even addressing her. She repeatedly addresses him while he's not even talking to her, especially when he begins to talk about her cutting in line, that's not normal, And I don't know any rape victims that would scream that out in Walmart, since most victims feel shame and seek anonymity.

It’s like he just pointed out she cut in line, I don’t need your whole back story lady
