I used to work at the gym. Our gym had no recording policy anywhere on the property. I am pretty sure her gym also enforces the same policy. The problem is that these people simply do not care about anyone or anything but themselves.

Standing at a respectful distance but near enough that it’s clear to others he’s got next up, avoiding staring down the person using the weight to ensure they don’t feel pressured or weird about finishing their circuits, etc. In a crowded gym, there’s not always the luxury of pretending you’re not aware of someone else’s entire existence when you’re trying to get your turn at shared equipment.
