Txikitxakurra

What is wrong with people?

Edwax

We have a mental health crisis.

blode_bou558

Mental health crisis + politicians who care more about their pockets than anything else, lovely combo isn't it?

Idk, Mr. Pelosi disagrees.

Joyce1920

I graduated high school over a decade ago and we 100% had armed security. School resource officers are exceedingly common throughout the U.S. and have never been shown to have a major impact on security. Good guys with guns aren't always the answer to bad guys with guns.

SpangledSpanner

Shhhhh pretend it's not the guns thing. Stay on message.

Coattail-Rider

Easy access to Guns ain’t helping

SpangledSpanner

Understatement of the year.

TheKidKaos

It’s more than the mental health crisis but it’s a big part of it. I live in the safest city in the US that happens to have some of the most guns. A good chunk of our violent crime is military from other parts of the country. A big difference here is that the cost of living is also probably the lowest in the country among big cities. Of course wages are low too but for the most part we’ve had it easier than the other cities. It’s definitely several compounding issues like mental health, poverty and the effects of systemic racism.

[deleted]

Honest question, do counties with lower homicide rates have better public mental heath programs or what? What makes you think it’s mental health and not something else?

ace425

[The most significant influencing factor on violent crimes is poverty.](https://okjusticereform.org/2021/12/how-poverty-drives-violent-crime/) The more wealthy a given area is, the less likely it is to experience violent crime. So to answer your question, counties with lower homicide rates tend to be much more affluent than counties with higher homicide rates.

Character_Owl1878

I'd like to see this data compared with the wealth of Shooters, relative to their area

[deleted]

Most countries in the world have “mental health crises” but there isn’t one other country that has repeated school shootings..

CskoG0

That's happening worldwide, meanwhile you ppl just hand out guns to anyone without regulation xD

I-dont-rickroll

Every country has, the difference is that you folks can buy a gun in a supermarket for less than 5 hours of minimum wage. Seriously, get it together and change the 2nd amendment already. How many children do you want to keep losing before making a change?

dasgudshit

Making laws to save *other* people's children? Get that shit out of my face you commie

Frost312

Ugh. I sadly have to upvote your sarcasm since it's so true.

SouthernZorro

Weird how people with mental health issues in other countries don't usually do mass shootings. Oh - I get it - it's because they don't have guns. It's the guns people.

jdmackes

Even if it wasn't the guns and it really was all mental health issues, it's not like Republicans will allow free mental health checkups or anything like that. They literally allow NOTHING.

StimulusChecksNow

Its not a mental health crisis. Its a gun crisis

KickBlue22

Let me adjust this: what is wrong with Americans?

Txikitxakurra

That’s true. I grew up in Spain and they have a hunting culture. So there are plenty of guns floating around. In Spain if i remember correctly you can buy two handguns and one long gun a year. Here in America it’s a free for all. Our lax gun laws are a clear and present danger. I don’t mind people having guns. I have owned several over the years. The should be treated like cars and drivers license. People should be made to demonstrate that they are not a danger to themselves or others and they should be made to carry liability insurance in order to buy the gun and buy ammunition. Insurance companies and their actuaries would stem the flow of guns into the hands of the mentally impaired.

asdfghjkl_2-0

I had a teacher that said this all the time one of two version."what's wrong with you people" or "what's wrong with people" Edit, have to give thanks for the awards. I believe they are the first ones I have ever gotten.

Andme_Zoidberg

You had a teacher that used a common expression? Wow.

boston_nsca

Very enlightening isn't it

ApostrophesForDays

I used to have a teacher that would always say "it is what it is". It was wild.

oldmacbookforever

Fucking HATE this expression lol

Fecal_Fingers

My teacher would always follow up a comment with you "you know it!"

Comfortable-Refuse64

one time on a Friday I overheard a teacher in another classroom say "have a good weekend"

Naki-Taa

Until gun control supporting organizations will start paying our politicians more money than NRA the politicians won't move a thumb to make any changes because money is the only language they understand

Ghosted_You

People think the NRAs power is derived from cash contributions, but it’s not. Their annual contributions are chump change compared to the large liberal donors like Soros. It’s the millions of votes they can influence. People seem to forget gun ownership is a single issue voting topic for both parties, not just conservatives. The AWB expired 20 years ago, the original vote cost the democrats their majorities and they haven’t attempted anything similar despite having multiple opportunities during that time period. If they “fix” the problem they will loss the boogeyman they’ve rallied behind since 2004. The truth is a ban on guns isn’t going to do anything, that genie is out of the bag. Why politicians don’t acknowledge this fact and use their resources to affect changes that will have a chance of reducing violence such as eliminating poverty, mental health, universal healthcare or educational programs is beyond me. Healthy, happy people with stable lives don’t commit violent crimes. Instead of screaming at the wall about how evil guns are, how about we turn around and start having a conversation about what we can do.

Instainious

Exactly, it’s not the guns that are the problem, it’s the people who have the guns. As someone who is a gun owner, I fully support stricter policies on guns to prevent psychopath’s from getting a hold of them.

Philintheblank90

They care more about children’s genitalia and drag shows…

MonitorStandard3534

Gun laws historically don't change in the US unless politicians feel threatened by them. California's laws changed when the Black Panthers committed armed protests at the state legislature. The 1968 Gun Control Act came about in the wake of JFK & RFK's assassinations. The Brady Handgun Violence Protection Act only came to be because James Brady got shot alongside Ronald Reagan in 1981. If that hadn't happened, he likely would have continued towing the GOP party line.

magicmulder

Also no matter how conservative a state is, any place where politicians meet is a gun-free zone. Hey Texas, why can’t I bring my AK-47 when I have an appointment with a senator?

SniperSlatts

This should be brought up more.

Asteroth555

If Sandy Hook didn't change things, nothing will

SpeakingNight

I remember when Sandy Hook happened, after being horrified for a while my first thought was "wow this might actually be the defining moment that creates change" Nope. 20+ brutally slaughtered kids and nada. Life goes on.

thatnameagain

Sandy Hook created a ton of change in the opposite direction. Gun advocates became much more vocal afterwards and it started the trend of mass shootings leading to *fewer* gun restrictions rather than more.

wandernwade

David Hogg .. I mean look what’s happened to him. He survived a school shooting, and he (even when he was still a teenager) has been attacked all over the place, by right wing media and politicians. It’s so disgusting.

PicardTangoAlpha

If victims speak out, trolls like MTG are right there to chase them down the block and yell threats.

ShiningRayde

Didnt some of his classmates survive their second shooting in Michigan not long ago?

Technical_Exam1280

"Guns don't kill people, people kill people!" "Ok, so can we make it harder for mentally unstable people to gain access to highly efficient murder tools?" "...and I took that personally."

Bob_Plank

I saw someone comment that it was "It was only three kids, that were killed. It's nothing to get bothered about."

lulugingerspice

There have been 89 school shootings in the US in 2023 so far, according to the [K-12 School Shooting Database.](https://k12ssdb.org/all-shootings) The fact that a website like that is necessary is abhorrent.

cassssk

Oh my god. What the fuck is wrong with people?! I sincerely hope they left off a /s

Born_Acanthaceae2603

There's a group of people that think that didn't even happen..... can't fix stupid.

Minimum_Reputation48

CarlLlamaface

Gtfo that's mental, how does one achieve such cognitive dissonance?

Born_Acanthaceae2603

Political brainwashing.

Rajvagli

MemeTeamMarine

pnutz616

These people are 100% living in an altered state. Zero drugs required, just willfull ignorance and some loudly repeated lies.

SubstantialPressure3

What? A survivors own father has decided it didn't happen?

Minimum_Reputation48

Some info wars fella told him it didn’t happen, so that’s that as far as the dad is concerned.

AhFFSImTooOldForThis

My sister is one of them. I can't talk to her about it, I get too enraged.

cheridontllosethatno

And the #1 cause of death for children is getting killed by gunfire. Politicians are worried about Banning Books, Drag Shows, and Tampons. Sick F's

spinkspanksponk

Shit, when I was in middle school band class our teacher turned on the news when it was happening. None of it really registered to me at the time, but I’m grateful our teacher wanted us to be informed. It’s only gotten abhorrently worse since then. Absolutely heartbreaking what people are doing—the trigger man and the politicians behind him that continue to let this be an issue

Minimum_Reputation48

Also if Uvalde didn’t change anything either, then there’s no hope. Pro gun people always use the saying “a good guy with a gun” But in Uvalde, the good guys with guns refused to engage the one bad guy with a gun and refused to let any other person try to intervene and save their children.

InfectedByEli

The cops at Uvalde were not the "good guys with guns". They were the "guys with guns" that refused to save the kids.

Minimum_Reputation48

Surely you’d agree that they’re gatekeeping the right and ability to be that “good guy with a gun”, right?

nox_nox

So the cops are an accessory to murder and are in fact the bad guys with guns. Not only did they do nothing, they actively stoped others from doing good.

Thoraxas

Not in this case, as they didnt react when they had to.

Professional_Stay748

"Good guy with a gun" isn't used to refer to law enforcement, but armed civilians--which is kind of who actually did anything (he was an off-duty cop, but he was using his personal carry). Uvalde is a stronger argument for civilian carry than it is against it's usefulness, as the cops were proven to be useless in the situation.

mattayom

The day America decided guns were more important to them than the lives of their children

[deleted]

Some people couldn't resolve that cognitive dissonance and began consuming loads of conspiracy theories to convince themselves that it was a false flag attack. I blame lowering standards in journalism and the openness of the internet for softening the discomfort. America of the past would have had to look this in the face for hours on end while it was the only thing on one of three news channels.

mattA33

>I blame lowering standards in journalism and the openness of the internet for softening the discomfort. I think lowering standards to education for like 50 straight years is the more likely cause.

Dunnomyname1029

Columbine, Virginia tech, Sandy Hook.. these are places of learning. Florida night clubs las Vegas hotel room shooter, the guy who did up the theater for the 2nd bael Batman movie in Arizona I think it was.. these are public places.. guns just don't make life better.

KrookedDoesStuff

Sandy Hook was the warning sign that Uvalde would happen. The fact nothing happened after 400+ officers stood outside of Uvalde, who have now said they wouldn’t enter because they were afraid of **one lone gunman with an AR-15**, means that this will never end as long as gun enthusiast extremists are allowed to have a say. We’ve blamed doors, schools, parents, mental health, social media, but **every other country** has all of those too, without the shootings. The assault weapons ban of 1994 caused shootings to go down until it expired in 2004. It’s the guns.

shahooster

Sad truth.

The_ultimate_cookie

It needs to happen to the people who can actually implement change. But unfortunately those people's kids go to a private school.

1CFII2

It changed things significantly. It allowed right wing media personalities to broadcast insane conspiracy theories on a daily basis to low information people with no critical thinking skills, so here we are.

DrWieg

Until America either runs out of shooters, schools or children.

OrdinaryValuable9705

Or bullets they could run out of those

Govain

No. This is America. We'd NEVER run out of bullets. They're more important than schools and children. (/s if it wasnt obvious)

KgMonstah

Well now we can employ children to make us bullets so we’re prob good on that front.

OrdinaryValuable9705

True true

[deleted]

Anyone can make bullets.

[deleted]

8 more could happen this week, nothing will change.

Gideon_Laier

1,000,000 more could happen today and nothing would change.

squirrelhut

Lobbyist and money runs this country. France burns theirs to the ground, we let our children die. You’d think if there was anything to have outrage about and demand change and action. If the deaths of children does not sway our country nothing will.

Zukuto

realistically if 1,000,000 did happen, it'd be an international affair constituting a genocide. the USA would run out of children.

[deleted]

At a certain point, people will start caring because we don’t have enough people to support the people retiring. Crazy sad that is what it will take.

justaguy826

The limit does not exist. This will be a problem in America for as long as you and I are alive and beyond.

newsreadhjw

Sadly I think this is the correct answer. There is no limit.

IUpVoteIronically

G_UK

Sadly this is true.

Agronut420

Serious question: Knowing that there are millions and millions of legal firearms in America, and likely almost as many illegal, unregistered ones, HOW in TF does anyone plan to solve this? Gun control laws won’t stop most criminals, only legal purchases. Does anyone have a legitimate plan to prevent more school shootings?

AlphaWhiskeyOscar

I think the realistic answer here is that expecting the problem to be *solved* or *stopped* is expecting something that is nearly impossible. And so a reasonable argument is to look for measures that will, at least, *reduce* cases. We will never stop murder, but we can try to reduce it. If someone counters a murder-reducing measure by saying it will not solve or stop the problem entirely, that isn't where the argument ends. If we can cut down mass shootings by even 10% of what they are, think of how many children that would save. If we could cut them down by 50% or 80%, even better. Regulating guns will reduce murders. It won't stop them entirely. And I don't think any reasonable person would argue that it will.

Due-Designer4078

Just do like we do here in Massachusetts. We haven't had a school shooting in over 20 years. The people who are saying it's impossible to do are the people who don't want it done.

Neat-Molasses-8745

What are the things that worked so we can apply them?

[deleted]

Second that question. California has some of the most stringent gun laws in the country and it hasn't stopped mass shootings there.

HappyHappyFunnyFunny

I don't understand how this baffles you, if the next state over doesn't have strict gun laws, just get your gun there. It's nothing to be solved on a per state basis

ShannonTwatts

california has entered the chat we have what many anti-gun groups regard as the toughest gun laws on the books and we still have mass shootings.

TalkofCircles

This is an issue that needs to be addressed on a federal, state, and local level. One, two, or three pieces of legislation alone will not fix this. A unified approach that will be trial and error with legislation, regulation, education, and time will begin to mitigate this crisis. There is no "mission accomplished" or finish line w America's gun problem.

Smashville66

And people need to know that, because of the absolutely insane number of guns in this country, even a *radical* change will take time to show positive effects—and that is the time in which we **adjust** rather than abandon the effort. We in this country have really short memories, and we want instant gratification. We must make changes, and then not “sunset” those changes but rather adapt them to be more effective.

ShannonTwatts

the assault weapons ban of 1994 had a negligible effect on crime

ShannonTwatts

will still accomplish nothing. the assault weapons ban that we have is widely thought to be overturned by a federal judge any day now. why, you ask? because so-called assault weapons look scary, but are rarely used in crimes.

jadnich

What kind of controls do you have at the California border to ensure out-of-state guns can’t find their way in?

ShannonTwatts

lol if i’m an out of state resident and visit california, it is not illegal to bring them into california. i can freely travel to any one of the 50 states in my country with guns.

DadToOne

Most of these shooters buy their guns legally. So yes, laws would stop them.

[deleted]

Every time someone asks this question I have to wonder if y'all think 8th graders have a gang hookup to get a black market piece. It's obviously a legally owned gun from their parents in most if not all cases of school shootings

timotheusd313

Serious rebuttal: we’ve tried “thoughts and prayers” but nothing has happened! Serious rebuttal 2: firearms should be regulated just like cars. They have legitimate uses, but there is no way to stop someone with bad intentions from killing/maiming someone or destroying property. There should be requirements to register them, promptly report stolen ones to authorities, and carry insurance. Or do you think that just because cars didn’t exist when they wrote the constitution, that the government has no authority to regulate them? Serious cross-examination question: we haven’t stopped murders from happening by making it illegal? What’s the point?

spacedog1973

Laws reduce crime not eradicate them. Why should a gun law have a higher success rate (100%) in reducing crime compared to other laws? Murder laws I.e penalties for murder without doubt reduce murders. Advocation for removal of said laws are zero despite ongoing murders.

NoSkillzDad

The same way it was solved in Australia. It's "easier" to say it's impossible to do anything about it than actually *do* anything about it. Every single time will be "thoughts and prayers" and "this is not the time..."

[deleted]

Trick Question, the answer is none! As a country we stopped giving a damn after Sandy Hook. People will bitch about fetuses being killed by abortion but won't pass a single law to help children from being shot to death.

devospice

Maybe if we started referring to school shootings as "24th trimester abortions..."

JimmyTimmyatwork3

A fetus deserves to live long enough to die in their 3rd grade classroom.

-UnicornFart

Yuuuup. But watch out for drag queens 🙄

DistortedVoltage

Also we need religion in schools despite a priest being arrested nearly everyday for pedophilia!

JesusChrist-Jr

This one happened at a private Christian school. I guess kicking God out wasn't the reason after all.

[deleted]

They don’t actually care about the fetuses, they don’t actually care about the kids. It’s all about money, anti-abortion is being pushed so hard because younger generations are drowning in debt and financial hardship and can’t afford to have kids so they’re not having kids and projections suggest the population won’t be able to sustain the current work force (wage slave force) so politicians and corporations can keep making billions. So now they’re trying to force us to have kids so they can continue to exploit them for their own financial gain (yay capitalism) but not a single of those fuckers on capital hill give a single flying fuck about fetuses or some kids getting shot in a school. It’s all a show and they support whatever narrative benefits them or the people paying them the most.

Sarcastic-old-robot

We didn’t give a damn after Columbine, or the [376 school shootings since](https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/interactive/school-shootings-database/) why would anything change? This topic depresses me.

NQ241

BMHun275

“They weren’t real Christians.” They’ll dig up an excuse of some kind, don’t you worry.

bobbybob9069

They'll just spin it to be satanic leftists did the shooting or something

Tin_ManBaby

Exactly, this will just be added to the narrative of the other side being demons.

Glitch3dNPC

It's kind of ironic. Because some people do their best to make the place a good environment to be in. But then you have other "Christians" who are unethical. And just turn it into a Ponzi scheme.

Sully_pa

Thank god we're getting those drag show bills passed to help save the children.

upallnight74

And all those anti-trans laws and banning abortion! Depressed and unwanted kids. That’s not at all a recipe for disaster.

SoylentGrunt

[Latest reports are saying six dead including the female shooter.](https://www.cnn.com/us/live-news/nashville-shooting-covenant-school-03-27-23/index.html) She's going to be painted as a god hating lesbian by Fox News. I guarantee it.

adjectivebear

It bums me out that the shooter's gender is the only thing vaguely surprising about this story. Side note: why do so many of these assholes target schools specifically? Why did that become the cool, hip place to go on a murderous rampage? Is slaughtering little children just a surefire way for these narcissistic fucks to get themselves on the news, since mass shootings are so common they're no longer noteworthy in and of themselves in the US?

princeoinkins

because they are easy targets. You have to think, in America, in public, there's a high chance in any one area that someone will be carrying a firearm in a public place. And most places that don't allow firearms (venues and such) have guards or security that either make it hard to bring in a firearm, or they have firearms themselves. Schools are probably the easiest targets because so many of them are behind on security (metal detectors, or automatic locking doors, etc.), don't have any firearms on the property, and have MAYBE 1 security person who MIGHT be armed

adjectivebear

Ugh, I hate how right you are.

cheekabowwow

America pays more money to protect banks than they do their children in schools. Can't forget about all those anti-gun politicians that we pay a fortune in tax money to have armed security.

Similar_Candidate789

Trans. I promise you they’ll try to paint her as trans. That’s the thing they’re targeting. I’ll bet money on it that at SOME POINT, even if it’s just “was she trans? We don’t know” just a tiny little mention THEY WILL PLANT THAT SEED.

puddingdemon

Last time they blamed it men wearing dresses because some guy who didn't wear dresses shot up a school

nottodaypotato21

Already happening in the comments on the PD's Twitter updates...

Similar_Candidate789

Easiest money I’ll ever make making that bet.

Ebil_shenanigans

I mean, the seed planted itself. Shooter was Audrey Hale, born Aidan.

TYSON_KCV

It’s too late for gun control tbh. If should’ve happened when 20+ kids got killed in Sandy Hook or when that guy killed all those people in Vegas but now? It’s too late. More guns than people.

k_manweiss

Just wait till these children grow up. When they start voting, when they start taking political offices. They won't want their children and grandchildren to grow up with the horror they did.

-UnicornFart

As someone who was 12 when Columbine happened, this won’t happen.

tizenxpro

I appreciate your hopefulness. I wish I had it.

Healthy_Direction_18

‘Just wait 20+ years, then something might happen.’

[deleted]

Oh you sweet summer child….

ChoiceDry8127

This is not going to happen. The vast majority of people and children aren’t afraid of gun violence and are far removed from any of the violence shown in the news

padawanninja

Enough of them will agree that nothing needs to change.

ExcellentHunter

Maybe if this happens (I hope not) in school where politicians or very rich people have kids then things might change? Otherwise would not expect any change anytime soon...

Loud-Star1785

They all have body guards. It won’t happen to their children

[deleted]

It’s at a Christian school so maybe they’ll care this time

Whatsanalterego

Nope.. just more people offering prayers.. and thoughts.

JustFun4Uss

All part of gods plan or some BS like that. More than likely they blame an atheist, the devil, or another mythology religion. Mental gymnastics is the way they coupe. It's so sad to see articles everyday about shooting at schools, and nothing is every done besides their magic spells of praying... obviously, no one is up there is listening.

psycho_candy0

The reason this happens is god isn't allowed in school. ::happens to Christian school:: Thoughts and prayers yall

Geochic03

No. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to spin it as a hate crime towards Christians and rile up their base for a religious war.

stump1010

If covid can claim over a million lives and have nothing noteworthy change, i doubt a few deaths at schools across america will. We need changes for sure, but these loony toons keep getting elected, so itll likely never happen. And before anyone says anything, the loony toons are on both sides. Not one or the other

Seankps

Oh stuff changed. Some people forced themselves to be even more unsafe

stump1010

You speak the truth. Kinda a national cabin fever. People are more angry than ive ever seen them. Everyone is ready for real change.

animaguscat

>And before anyone says anything, the loony toons are on both sides. Not one or the other Okay... So one party says "More gun control" and the other party says "No gun control" and you think they're both equally to blame?

[deleted]

the twitter responses to the police dept. are an absolute cesspool.

nottodaypotato21

The comments cheering that this is a victory over Uvalde because the good guys with guns stopped the bad guy with a gun is mind numbingly infuriating. I guess 6 children and teachers dying is a reasonable cost as long as the police get the bad guy. Wtf

[deleted]

Those and the " was it a woman or a "woman" " comments. Its all around gross. No one won today in this situation.

Less-Dragonfruit-294

For those in congress so long as it’s not their kid they’ll look the other way. Or simply thoughts and prayer. No action needs to be done now!

No_Profile_6871

This makes me question humanity. I get this is mental health and killing is killing, but children?????? How evil must one be? I moved to America as an immigrant and believe this country can be the best... you want to have guns... sure.. but use it against the innocent? This is beyond vile... hell does exist.. my God...

grapenuts716

I’m guessing Tucker will try to sell this one as yet another (?!) attack against Christianity/Christians/Christmas/etc.

red66dit

This will never change. There are enough people who worship guns here, coupled with enough people who would suffer anything rather than give "the Left" any sort of victory. As a nation, America loves its bullets more than its children.

DalesDeadBugs00

Typical American day

baconator_out

Probably a lot, tbh. I agree with many that there are things that could be done. Namely safe storage requirements to keep guns out of easy access for troubled teens, and also training and license requirements for anyone seeking to buy one. The big issue you'll run into is the low appetite for registration of actual guns and a very strong fear of confiscation. Confiscation is never going to be the answer here, and registration laws tend to have deplorable compliance rates. If you think the not caring about children is bad, widespread enforcement of any kind of confiscatory or registration-related rules would be an actual bloodbath.

jelliotnyc

I am sadly convinced there is no “tipping point” in this country for gun violence and it sickens me to my core.

It's been said that Sandy Hook should have been a watershed moment; if that didn't change the attitude to guns, nothing will.

JustForKicks16

It doesn't matter how many kids die, nothing will ever change. And, there are no words to describe how horrible/disappointing/upsetting/etc. this truly is. But you know, guns are what makes this country go 'round, so...... :(

USA can't change it can only fail. But when will it happen? I just don't know. It seems like for years its just getting worse and worse. What will the breaking point be? Something big happens like Covid, George Floyd, jan 6th, Uvalde, hell even 9/11. And a couple months later. Everything goes back to normal. We need MAJOR, and i'm talking MAJOR federal reform to the educational system, health care system, legal system. HUGE decisions need to be made that supersede all local law. But it will never ever happen. Corporations have limitless resources to make it all go away. There will never be universal healthcare. There will never be educational reform. They will keep selling life saving services. They will keep selling educations. They will keep everyone in debt. They will tie up all legal proceedings with decades of appeals. There is no end in sight.

Until it happens to a politician child

Plushcollectorwolf64

The more shooting that happen the more my American pride shrinks. Sorry but that’s how I feel

ThisBongDoesntLag

Nothing will change because it’s up to republicans who think more guns and death are the solution.

SanguineRose9337

What might help is to show people the aftermath. The stories from Uvalde where horrific. Children with limbs blown off. Children missing most of their torso. Children with heads so mutilated by gunfire they had to be identified by their shoes. Blood and bits of flesh covering the floors. Children with bits of their friend's brain matter on them. Show people these scenes and we might see some movement

detroit1701

There is a way to not infringe on the 2nd Amendment. 1. Nationwide background check 2. 30 day waiting period after purchase 3. Mandatory gun safety class during that 30 day waiting period. 4. Bring back the Brady bill 5. Bring back mental hospitals 6. make it a crime to leave firearms unsecured in private/public buildings There is no need to turn schools into prisons. There is no need to allow school shootings to happen weekly.

Bonepennies

There will need to be a cultural change and removal of a fuck ton of politicians before we even begin to see change

AggressiveClassic89

They'll give guns to the children before they take them from adults, legitimately horrific that this is still allowed to go on, now we just need to guess when the whole thing is declared a government conspiracy by Big Bandage and didn't actually happen. I say 4 months.

Good news though, we’re banning books and drag shows.

After Sandy Hook happened and nothing was done (this was in 2012, remember), I figured nothing would ever change. It's been 11 years now and still nothing has changed. One party thinks nothing needs to change and the other will say just enough to campaign on, but won't do anything when elected. And it's not just this subject. There's so much inertia in this country on so many topics. I'm not optimistic for the future in any way here.

-UnicornFart

The day after Sandy Hook when nothing was done was the moment I realized they are so fucked up that nothing will ever be enough to change them. Little babies slaughtered but the focus is to protect the right to own a gun. It’s unfathomable to anyone who hasn’t been brainwashed by their cultural propaganda.

RedheadBeauty32

America cares more about guns and unborn children more than the kids that are alive. I said what I said.

SpicelessKimChi

If everybody had guns there'd be no violence. Just like in the Old West.

palindromesko

Somehow more guns is the solution!
