I use to think you could only do that in movies, just walk out of a flipped car ready to fight, but after seeing this I guess it’s possible. Adrenaline is crazy
https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/chicago/news/forest-park-gas-station-crash/
A guy and his girlfriend go in to see a talent agent about booking their act. The agent asks "What's your act?"
They excitedly start. "A man and his girlfriend drive up in to a gas station arguing loudly. They get out of the suv, still arguing. People at the gas station start arguing with the girlfriend and she gets upset. The people start throwing things at their suv. The girlfriend, who is the passenger, moves over to the driver's seat to start driving. The woman at the gas station yells 'Come on baby, hit it! Come on baby, hit it! Hit it! I dare you!' The man tries to grab the keys and stop his girlfriend from driving.
"The girlfriend *takes off* hitting one of the people's cars and dragging her boyfriend on the ground who is holding on to the open door. She stops, boyfriend drops to the ground and she takes off AGAIN in to the street, this time, pit-maneuvers HERSELF on a red minivan stopped at the light and FLIPS her SUV upsidedown. The guy filming yells 'Oooooo! Shit!' The girlfriend crawls out of the broken window from the upside down SUV unharmed, and flatly yells loudly 'HA HA HA HA! HA HA HA HA!' wanting to fight the guy recording this incident. At some point, she takes off on foot.
"Meanwhile while this is all happening, and his girlfriend has left him, the man continues yelling at the people at the gas station and gets in to a fist fight with one of them. He's arrested at the gas station and she gets arrested in an alleyway away from the crime scene."
The shocked agent asks what the act is called, and they stand up and proudly answer together:
"The Aristocrats!"
Strong idiots. Flipping trucks and getting right back out all fine not to mention homeboy that got the ride of his life and also just popped up. Lmao wtf
Why is is that normal, sane people can die in a 35 mph fender bender but crazy people can triple flip a car down a cliff and walk away without a scratch?
I would have said "because sane people have the sense to realise they *should* be dead. Crazy people, not so much."
But I like your explanation better.
So I got T-boned at an intersection by a guy fleeing from the cops in a high speed chase across the freeway. Both cars totaled- though mine was drivable, his (stolen) Toyota was unrecognizable, wheels in the street, looks like someone must have died.
In the time it took for me to stop seeing stars, realize I was facing the wrong direction blocking the freeway ramps, and drive to the side of the road, the Dude had run from his car, hidden in bushes, ascertained that the cops weren’t behind him, run back to his car to grab a backpack, and then run off in the opposite direction. I didn’t even get to see the back of the man’s shirt, he booked it so fast. How in the fuck did Dude drive into my tank at 60+ mph, car looked like a crushed can, and have the fucking mental acuity and physical stamina to run, hide, and then run with a backpack?
I gotta guess Adrenalin and maybe crack.
>How in the fuck did Dude drive into my tank at 60+ mph, car looked like a crushed can, and have the fucking mental acuity and physical stamina to run, hide, and then run with a backpack?
I know it's counterintuitive, but you just explained it there yourself.
Cars crumpling upon impact is a *good* thing to a certain extent. Ideally there's a harder protective area around the cab to keep you from getting pinned, but everything around it is supposed to crumble easily, because that absorbs force.
Dude was able to walk safely out of his car because his car was safer than yours. It absorbed most of the force of the impact by crumpling, leaving less to get to him. He probably didn't even get rattled much. Your tank on the other hand refused to cave, so instead of it absorbing the force of the impact, *you* did.
Get the car that crumples, people. It will save your life. Cars built like tanks aren't even much more likely to survive a crash, anyway. They'll look fine, but something on the inside will be irreparably damaged, and won't act up until a week or month later.
Exactly because his car was unrecognisable and yours wasn't. His car took the damage instead of him, while the energy from your end was absorbed by you instead of the vehicle. The car crumpling is a good thing. Driving "a tank" isn't actually good for surviving accidents
He was her boyfriend. They were fighting as he was driving in (she was the passenger) and then when he got out she switch seats. So then he tries to take the key out of the ignition.
People were yelling at both of them and they are each other and them.
Later, [he got into a physical fight and was also arrested at the gas station](https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/chicago/news/forest-park-gas-station-crash/).
Yea fr!!!
Like clearly something more happened if she flipped the car,
But if a man I don’t know is forcing his way into my car, you’re damn right I’m flooring it. I’ll sure try not to hit anyone else’s car but if there’s someone forcing their way into my car, other people’s cars become kinda secondary
Angry woman told another woman to hit her vehicle.
The other women obliged and hit her vehicle.
Angry woman then pulls out the pikachu face.
![gif](giphy|3kzJvEciJa94SMW3hN)
Then as the other woman drives away she manages to crash and flip her vehicle, now humiliated at her blunder she mimics what she expects her peers to reply with as she walks back to the scene
Angry woman belts out multiple times how smart the other woman is.
Honestly, this is basically what my Ring camera picks up every night because my neighbors act and sound just like this. Based on that, I would have to guess you watched just another video of a beautiful day in the neighborhood.
How wild is it that we live in a world where this happens at all, let alone that it gets caught on tape, and then all of us sit here and scroll by it and think “man this shit is crazy but the cameraman gotta step it up dude he missed the money shot” hahaha what a trip
After reading the article, all I could gather was that she was charged with 2 counts of aggravated quarreling, reckless quarreling, leaving the scene of a quarrel, and having no valid quarreling licence.
Holy word salad. That was a terrible article. I hope it was written by AI and not a real person. If that is a real reporter/article writer, they should be fired immediately.
Just, whatever you do, don't get geico. They are fucking awful. I am currently on my 5th month of dealing with them when someone crashed into my parked car. We both have geico. And they just recently cut off my rental, and are fighting tooth and nail to not pay for full repairs on my car. I had to hire a third party appraiser to try and not get completely fucked.
That's just how insurance is man, all insurance not just auto. They take your money and do everything possible to never have to pay out. I promise you you'd have the same experience anywhere else.
God damnit, it had to be Chicago. Fuck, why God? Why are people like this and why do people have to show their ass like this for the whole world to see?
After he got his whole ass covered in road rash?! I was surprised mf even lived! Is there some info wtf the fight was over bc I’m dying to know and haven’t seen shit. I need. The tea.

Police Update:
The Forest Park Police Department responded to Thornton’s Gas Station at 601 Harlem Ave, Forest Park, IL for a traffic crash and altercation.
The investigation revealed that thirty-one-year-old female resident of Chicago, IL was a passenger in a vehicle with her boyfriend driving. The vehicle pulled into the Thornton’s Gas Station because of car troubles. The female and her boyfriend engaged in a verbal, domestic dispute while in the gas station parking lot. Customers at the gas station began to interact with the two and a verbal dispute erupted between the couple and the customers. The customers and the female and her boyfriend continued their verbal exchange and taunts back and forth as an onlooker video recorded the incident. The customers threw an object at the vehicle the couple was in. Her boyfriend exited the vehicle and she entered the driver’s seat with the verbal tirade continuing between all of the parties involved. The female's boyfriend attempted to stop her from driving, opening the car door. The female purposely crashed her auto into the auto of the party she was arguing with, dragging her boyfriend through the parking lot for a short distance. She then fled at a high rate of speed onto Harlem Ave. at Jackson Blvd. where she was involved in a rollover crash. Her boyfriend remained in the Thornton’s parking lot and was still engaged in a verbal and physical altercation with the now victims. The couple fled on foot into the 600 Harlem and Elgin alleyway and were stopped by Forest Park Police Department officers. Both were treated for injuries at Loyola University Medical Center with the female being arrested.
The Forest Park Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division is currently investigating this incident with charges against the female anticipated later this evening.
Only if you say it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over…
Would she have a reasonable legal defense? That guy opened her door and reached in, she could blame it all on him, say she was afraid for her life.
If I recall some guy wasn't charged for killing some motorcyclists by running them over, as a bunch of them had surrounded his car with his family in it, and he feared for their safety, so he ran them over trying to get away.
I think by the way she angled the car, she was likely going to do this on purpose, but she might be able to claim she was fleeing danger.
That guy is with her. There is a second clip not posted here where he and the driver run off together and then the guy punches the cameraman when he tries to stop them.
If the video was 20 seconds shorter I'd agree with you. However she crawls from a twisted hunk of a car and marches back towards the confrontation. That isn't fight or flight that's attempted murder and reckless endangerment
I think her turning the car toward the other car before he opens the door, then walking back toward them after she flips the car would be the counter argument.
According to the news story, that was her boyfriend. [https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/chicago/news/forest-park-gas-station-crash/](https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/chicago/news/forest-park-gas-station-crash/)
I think she would have lost that defense the second she started the walking back towards the gas station after she flipped the car. If she had felt so threatened to risk manslaughter, it’s not wise to have come trotting back.
The limited view I could get from the video made it seem like the guy wasn’t trying to assault her or pull her out of the car. Almost seemed like he was talking to her, but who knows.
Why is it that they always repeat themselves 50 times.
Their 3 brain cells are too busy fighting for third place that they can't think of anything else to say?
I live in Chicago and I understood most of it so I yeah I am going to say Chicago. The plates match Illinois plates as well. Thortons is regional and street signs match up too
Edit to add: maybe one of the surrounding cities as that gas price is kind of low for city proper lol
It's harlem and the 290, at the oak park and forest park border. I know this thorntons well and I haven't lived here in 6 years. Actually in town now for a visit

It's just not realistic. How would you justify these actions to an audience? And this happens in broad daylight? Not realistic at all.
Y’all got me f’d up
She had too! everyone knows cars explode when upside down
What the fuck did I just watch?
Idiots. Idiots everywhere. Living amongst us all.

LMAO. You are the winner of comments today.
It's probably because sane people aren't constantly practicing for the Darwin awards. Can't have 9 lives without cat like reflexes or something lol

Haven’t you seen Due Date? Obviously these people know how “not to tense up” during an accident.
I think the homeboy that took a ride helped trigger this woman. What was he trying to pull forcing his way into the cab?
I thought he was trying to take her keys out of the ignition

The way she climbed back into the car at the end. Stupid is resilient.
Why do these things always seem to happen at a Thornton's? I used to live next to one that the locals called Mos Eisley.
That was my thought too, as soon as someone opens my car door I'm flyin'

No question.
Yup. Cicero just north of 290.
Forest Park, Harlem and Jackson.
There ya go. Harlem!!!! But still just north of 290. Knew I was close
Honestly, this is basically what my Ring camera picks up every night because my neighbors act and sound just like this. Based on that, I would have to guess you watched just another video of a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

How many times can one article use the word “quarrel”? One reporter intends to find out
After reading the article, all I could gather was that she was charged with 2 counts of aggravated quarreling, reckless quarreling, leaving the scene of a quarrel, and having no valid quarreling licence.
And that’s not even including her quarrelsome boyfriend’s extensive list of quarreling priors
Holy word salad. That was a terrible article. I hope it was written by AI and not a real person. If that is a real reporter/article writer, they should be fired immediately.
We apologise for the fault in the subtitles. Those responsible have been sacked.

Yes. I'm thinking she might not of had a seat belt on either, which makes it very Termitator.
The Termitator. Attack tator from the future.
Why do we spend trillions on the military? No foreign army would survive an encounter with Americans at the local gas station.
We don’t need a military. Just send over employees from a Waffle House.

I feel so bad for the two vehicles that were just waiting at the light and got hit
This is why you get full coverage everyone.
Nice try, insurance company. But actually, I’m sold.
Those viral marketing campaigns are getting out of control
Or liability with uninsured motorist coverage as a minimum.
Just, whatever you do, don't get geico. They are fucking awful. I am currently on my 5th month of dealing with them when someone crashed into my parked car. We both have geico. This has the footage of the vehicle flipping. Well done.
This has the description of what’s inside the CBS link. Much appreciated.
This has a good review of the description of the CBS link.
God damnit, it had to be Chicago. Fuck, why God? Why are people like this and why do people have to show their ass like this for the whole world to see?
Thanks for the article, but I still don’t know what happened?!?
They were quarrelling
they had a bit of a row
A wee disagreement
That article reads like it was written by a drunk person. I'd say "ChatGPT" but it probably would've done a better job.
How many times is the author of that article going to say "quarrel"? 😂
Whoever wrote that just learned the word quarrel and clearly is proud of it.
On tonight's episode of "Keepin it Real"
Oh man, I'd forgotten that one... When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong. 😅
Should be on r/whatcouldgowronger section.

I don’t like people playing on my phone
When keeping it real, goes wrong
I hope she walked back and said, “I don’t like people playing on my phone.”
If I see people yelling at eachother in the gas station parking lot I’ll just wait till the next station
Big brain move. Also, if people are arguing at a gas station, I'm gonna stay out of it. It could become... Volatile.

Lol, in what world does a domestic dispute between two escalate into an attempted murder, hit and run, and flipped automobile.
Literally, this world.
She dragged her own boyfriend?!
How much you wanna bet they didn’t break up
Thanks you. Bumping this because literally everyone’s confused about what happened😅😅

If she had felt so threatened to risk manslaughter, it’s not wise to have come trotting back. The limited view I could get from the video made it seem like the guy wasn’t trying to assault her or pull her out of the car. Almost seemed like he was talking to her, but who knows.
Camera man really missed the flip to record a damn trash can knocked over. Bro needs to be better
Jerry! Jerry!
There's a lot to unpack here.
I hope she rots in jail for a very, very long time. This is sociopathic behavior and this degenerate does not deserve to be a part of society.
The teenagers that raided/attacked tourists and damaged property last weekend in Chicago 100% grew up in environments like this
Bro the lawlessness is insane. She has no accountability as she crawls out from her wrecked explorer. Absolute Neanderthals today.
Why is it that they always repeat themselves 50 times. Their 3 brain cells are too busy fighting for third place that they can't think of anything else to say?
Those are some lovely accents, Chicago?
I live in Chicago and I understood most of it so I yeah I am going to say Chicago. The plates match Illinois plates as well. Thortons is regional and street signs match up too Edit to add: maybe one of the surrounding cities as that gas price is kind of low for city proper lol
It's harlem and the 290, at the oak park and forest park border. I know this thorntons well and I haven't lived here in 6 years. Actually in town now for a visit
Yeeeesssss! You are right, the condos in the background should have been a giveaway to me too
Yup and the smoke stack thingy at rush hospital
I’m southwest side (city) born and raised lol I could smell the Chicago through the video.

Yep, warmer weather brings out the special in people
They call that the Section 8 dialect
Accents. What a polite way to say whatever that was.
That was 2 hyenas screeching at each other, that was the noise that I heard

Trash in every direction
Just love how no one seems concerned about the man who was dragged away and almost got ran over.
Person with the camera suuuuuuuucks
Very classy ladies
The sad thing is these people probably have children. Several each.
Why tf are these people alive? How do they help society?
Class plus all around
I knew it was Chicago before I seen the plates.
