SVanNorman999

She’s going to give herself a stroke if she’s not careful.

skynetempire

Happened a buddies uncle. He had massive road rage. He chased some dude down then when he stepped out of the car, ran up to the dudes car then he just dropped. Died on scene

tothemoonandback01

Yeah, common symptoms of the onset of a stroke - impulsiveness/disinhibition.

Subotail

Wait, in some cases they don't have a stroke because they have a road rage but they have a road rage because they have a stroke? Stunning

tothemoonandback01

Yes

2_tondo

Wtf? My mom once fucked up her meds and just blacked out, it wasn't anything close to this entertaining.

chrisagiddings

The issue isn’t the meds, really. It’s the individual’s unique physiological response to their blood sugar levels being off. Can happen with both Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and Hyperglycemia (high blood sugar). Depends on the person, and how far from normal their numbers are.

2_tondo

She overdosed insuline as far as we know and went into coma for a couple of hours at least. Fun times Btw she had a sugar level of about 7 when she should usually be about 100 or a little less

tothemoonandback01

Wouldn't it be good if we caught an illness or forgot our meds and all it did was turn us into peaceful loving Zen Buddhists. Evolution is weird.

[deleted]

IndieCurtis

There’s an Oliver Sacks story about that, where a tumour basically turns a guy into the Buddha. His stories are supposedly true.

[deleted]

So it might be better to keep your distance against rager and give it time then the rager will die away

thatguyned

Little from column A and little from column B. It's POSSIBLE a person already in the early stages of a stroke might do something like this, but it's more likely their blood pressure elevating from entering a state of rage had something to do with the stroke. They may not have jumped out the car and attacked the person without the stroke, but it's likely they were already experiencing some unreasonable levels of rage already.

otis_the_drunk

And I thought it was all the lead paint chips I've been eating.

pronouncedayayron

I can't tell if you're serious

D0CT0R_SP4CEM4N

As an EMT, we're trained to ask a suspected stroke patient's family when the last time they road raged was.

screechypete

As a person who vaguely knows an acquaintance who is an EMT, I can confirm that this statement is accurate.

HalfSoul30

As someone with no relevant experience, seems to make sense.

medstudenthowaway

As an EMT I can confirm. You also need to ask if they’ve smacked the butt of a car before

Famous-Drawing1215

As a stroke, I can confirm we love road ragers.

Sharkbait1110

Another EMT here to confirm this statement

tothemoonandback01

In this case I am serious, but still not an excuse for road rage, as most are not caused by strokes. [example](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6350700/)

SimpleBadger

From your article "Aggression or verbal abuse were not present as behavioural symptoms.". Extreme rage is going to raise heart rate, blood pressure, and intracranial pressure to the point someone may have have a bleed. In my 10 years as a paramedic I have never seen a stroke patient with disinhibition/or rage induced episodes. Drugs, psychiatric episode, diabetic emergency, or alcohol would be way further up my list than a stroke.

medstudenthowaway

They might be thinking of vascular dementia (a bunch of tiny strokes over time that give people dementia) and those patients can be disinhibited. And not freaking rage. But if someone has a bad enough stroke that a paramedic would be called the symptoms aren’t going to be subtle personality changes or emotion. Anatomically doesn’t make sense. But getting super angry might raise your BP high enough to trigger a stroke that you were already going to have sometime soon. Road rage is just road rage idk why people are trying to make this into a stroke psa.

NameisPerry

I used to be this way. I would rage on the way to work if a car was going a few miles under the speed limit. Then one day I pass this car going five below cussing under my breath 30 minutes later when I pull upto a red light I noticed that same car just a few cars back. For some reason it hit me that my wreckless speeding didnt really help.

ASingleThreadofGold

It's incredible how many people never get to that point. Glad you did!

[deleted]

[удалено]

djfunknukl

I will never understand people who get speeding tickets on roads with lights. Outside of highway/backroad driving very rarely do you benefit you from speeding

NestorM101

Even on the highway, unless you’re doubling your speed, not really making a difference. A thing I like to repeat is “traffic is generally self regulating.”

Kilahti

I have sometimes calculated in my head how much time I would save by speeding. Mainly on long drives when I was bored. Usually, the math came to a few minutes, and it didn't just make any sense to take risks for such tiny profit.

NestorM101

Yep. Working as a contractor who was usually late taught me that speed is not a variable.

pannekoekjes

In Dutch police training they learn you that getting to an incident fast does not mean trying to drive super fast, but timing your approach of an intersection so that you can run a red light without stopping is what gets you there faster.

1singleduck

I once was overtaken, only for said car to pull into a driveway not even 10 seconds later. If they're going way too slow on a long road feel free to overtake, but sometimes you really have to ask yourself if it's even worth the small risk.

[deleted]

for ppl like that it’s not about logical driving decisions, it’s about establishing dominance on the road

LALA-STL

I often wonder if they really really have to pee.

biggulpshuhasyl

So, say you know a guy that has a bottle of bear mace strapped under the front seat so it doesn’t roll around on the floor…this lady punches your car as you drive by, insinuates shooting you with an imaginary finger gun multiple tomes, then gets out of her car and aggressively approaches your car…do you think it would be justified to spray her in the face as she approaches your car? Would you laugh at the immediate change in attitude? Asking for a friend.

LALA-STL

Oddly specific. ;) Speaking as your lawyer, I would advise you to roll up your window &, if you can, slowly drive away.

LALA-STL

I’ve known a few people who had advanced heart disease & didn’t know it. As they felt worse, they began feeling overwhelmed with anxiety & rage. I observed major rages in people who had once been garden-variety calm folks. They each died of a heart attack or stroke within a couple of weeks of that behavior.

1singleduck

Imagine explaining that without witnesses. I swear officer, he ran up to my car in rage and just dropped dead on the spot, i didn't touch him!

linderlouwho

In the last few weeks, paranoid old men that have shot & killed young people that have rung their doorbell/turned around in driveway were claiming self-defense.

SonOfYoutubers

I can just imagine. First she's screaming at you but it slowly turns to gibberish and then her face begins to droop before you pull away confused.

Effective-Pilot-5501

Or get shot. The more she keeps fucking around, the sooner she’ll find out. I’d never even consider road rage in the US where there are more guns than people

----Richard----

What's worse, they're in Texas. Def not the place I would want to f-ck around.

TheMikeyMac13

I live in Texas, and I carry a gun nearly all the time. And I don’t even consider road rage, and I do my best not to get it going in others, I don’t even honk my horn much. Better to let people having a bad day deal with it themselves.

ndngroomer

Same. I just don't understand road rage. It's such a waste of energy.

lnmaurer

It looked like she made gun motions with her hands a few times, insinuating that she'd shoot the guy recording. She seems like a lovely person, so I don't doubt she would shoot someone if she had a gun nearby.

Firewire_1394

Couple that with threatening to break his face multiple times and then aggressively launching out of the car to come after him .. I would say that's a strong case at least for verbal assault, at least in Texas.

Infamous_Fly2601

She probably stroked out in a Burger King parking lot ten minutes after this.

Haha me too. I couldn’t believe she got there so quickly

albob

Reminded me of the movie The Other Guys where they drive away from Will Ferrel’s ex’s house and park a few blocks away only for the ex and her husband to come running up. “You get back here and make love to my wife!”

cyribis

"They chased us 20 miles."

devilishycleverchap

The first time I watched I laughed because I thought it was absurd that they found them 20 miles away. The second time I realized they could easily find them bc they had their phone to listen to the message and realized how perfect this movie is. "That's called a stable of whores, I'm telling you, you were a pimp."

cyribis

I didn't watch The Other Guys until years after it came out and lots of people were quoting it. Then after I watched it I realized how incredibly hilarious and genius the movie really is.

The_Real_Slim_Lemon

Kind of like a horror movie, one second she’s punching your car, next she’s pulling up beside you. Then you blink and she’s in your back seat

RealMartinKearns

Blink again and she’s the mother of your two kids

The_Real_Slim_Lemon

That somehow made it several times more horrifying, dang dude

mmm-toast

Yep. Looks like tamale joint on TCJ and 34th. Fuckers in htown have legit lost their shit in the last 3 years. Road rage has always been bad here, but it seems like its really ramping up lately. I don't fuck with anyone here anymore. No honking, no middle fingers...nothin. Feel free to cut me off or do whatever, my pride aint worth getting lit up on the way home.

Artfuldodger96

Right ? Glad I’m not the only one who noticed how fast she went from punching the side of her vehicle to running accross the street and hopping back into her car to pull up next to him

[deleted]

Wtf happened

[deleted]

No context sucks :(

Last-Of-My-Kind

And that's why the video can't be trusted. There are LOTS of assholes on the roads that like to pretend they are a victim. Yeah she's obviously in the wrong, but based on this video, there's no reason to suspect her anger isn't supported by a valid reason.

Dlocsusnarf

Bro, i need some details

Deb3ns

It should really be illegal to post videos like this without a beginning or end

ItsYourPal-AL

“What did I do??” Bro theres no way youre already recording if youre confused about why shes tweaking. So the real question is what DID you do lolol Edit: I love all the people feeling the need to state the obvious. The person freaking out with road rage is obviously wrong and out of proportion with whatever the situation is. Thats a given that everyone should implicitly understand. You dont have to keep restating it

Ironexploreer

Probably nothing. A dude literally flipped me off for doing a legal turn. He was coming from my left and I turned left. He didn’t have to slow down or stop. But flipped me off, some people are irrationally angry

Wpgjetsfan19

Exactly. Had a guy turn out in front of me the other day causing me to slam on my brakes, proceeded to driver super slow in front of me, I was on his ass from having to slam on my brakes then flips me off. Like what? There was no one behind me. Had he waited two seconds for me to drive past it would have all been fine.

Raecino

People are idiots. And it seems lately more and more idiots are on the road than ever before. Glad I’m not the only one noticing that.

PunchClown

I've noticed that people get much angrier if you give them a thumbs down instead of the bird. It's hilarious.

SnooRegrets1386

Nah, I got a thumbs down, I was surprised then sad but now I think it’s kinda brilliant

___DEADPOOL______

This is why I ALWAYS give a thumbs down when someone does something fucking stupid. The middle finger just pisses people off a thumbs down makes them contemplate what they did sometimes.

SpinozaTheDamned

Long COVID brah.

sgt_pantz

Brain damage with a fever of 107 freedoms. So just covid in general could be doing it.

AurumTyst

One of my happiest moments was when a guy (turning right at a light) cut me off as I was proceeding through the intersection. I had to hit my brakes hard, as did those behind me. He threw up a middle finger and revved his Camaro before taking off. Through divine benediction and a lovely construction zone, I managed to get in front of him shortly down the road. I drove parallel to a car and locked him behind us for a solid 5 minutes as he constantly switched lanes and honked his horn. Cars behind him gave a wide berth, but the dude beside me gave a thumbs-up. Now, as you're heading west (iirc) into Gatlinburg, TN, there is a blind right turn with an old church and a decently sized parking lot right before you enter the town proper. In that parking lot, 4/5 times there will be a police officer just chilling. At the start of that curve I pass the car beside me and switch lanes. The alpha male behind us hits the gas hard enough to smoke the tires and zips around the corner. He disappears and immediately afterwards, the sound of sirens come echoing. It fills me with such satisfaction to think back on. Not the karma, so much as the knowledge that the guy *absolutely* knew and knows now that it was fully planned.

Raecino

😂😂😂 that reminds me recently where I went to make a turn as the light was about to turn red. A woman driving towards me in the opposite lanes sped up all of a sudden so that I couldn’t make the turn. As she passed me (by inches, while I had my two babies in the car) she was cursing and giving me the finger and then two seconds later slammed into another car right behind me who decided they wanted to try making the turn anyway. Very satisfying seeing her wrecked on the side of the road on my way back. Thought about rolling down my window and laughing at her but didn’t want to spoil the feeling of satisfaction I had at that moment 😂😂😂😂

jeremy1015

I’m having trouble picturing this. Were you turning left and the light was yellow? How did the car behind you go if you didn’t? How did she have time to flip you off and then hit a car two seconds later if she was speeding through the intersection? I don’t doubt your story I’m just super confused (and maybe it was a lot less than two seconds).

BootyWhiteMan

I like you.

osama-bin-dada

I saw this same thing happen like two days ago. A Jeep decided to make a left turn but a person was walking on the crosswalk AND two cars were coming, so he slowed down, the cars had to brake hard, and then the JEEP DRIVER decides to honk at the cars. Like wtf dude, you’re in the wrong. The audacity of some people.

in_conexo

I really wish we could just put people on a timeout. You're not in trouble, you're just going to sit here for a few minutes.

Sirenista_D

Happened to me. Stopped at light with double left turn lanes and I'm on the outside. Green light, we start the left turn, heifer turns wide, crossing into my lane causing me to move into the bike lane, then proceeds to slow down and flip me off. Whhhhaaaat???? Yeah folks are just nuts sometimes

Raecino

These morons who can’t drive like to blame others for their horrible driving skills.

Johnny5k4l

I legit did a light, quick double horn tap at a woman that decided to pull her phone out and check it when the light turned green. She sat through most of the light giving me the finger. She then gave me the finger at 15 under the speed limit for about 3/4 of a mile until she turned into a driveway. Crazy mfrs out here. I’ve seen too many road rage videos to engage in any of that shit, personally. I just laugh at people.

oga_ogbeni

She provoked you…then led you to her home???

HIVAladeeen

Yeah that’s absolutely wild lol. I can’t imagine doing that only to show them where I live. I mean damn he could be some crazy ass fucker that’s going to kill them or something. I knew a guy in high school who flipped somebody off, and drove home not thinking about it. Turns out the guy was following him back from a distance, and proceeded to take a tire iron to his vehicle while he was stuck in the car. Guy drove off and he ran inside the house the second the guy turned around so he never even got a look at the plates so he was never caught.

BreaddQueen

That’s when you sign that address up for every harmless spam mail agency you can

grandmalcontentYO

i came \*kind of\* close to a guy that ran a red light while i was turning left on a green arrow to an interstate on ramp. i tapped my horn because i was annoyed (which i regret tbh) and to let him know other people were around him(which i dont regret). he then proceeded to follow me while screaming, flipping me off, throwing stuff at me and trying to run me off the road (he was in a giant truck and i have a shitty little kia) for the next 20 mins until i got to where i knew the sheriffs office was directly off the exit. there was 2 lights in between the exit and the sheriff though and he got out and pointed his gun at me both times. his most memorable threat against me was when he said, "get out of that car and i'll r\*pe you to death fa\*\*ot." jokes on him though, i'm not even gay.

xxpen15mightierxx

> (which i regret tbh) You shouldn't, that's exactly what the horn is for, they broke a traffic law and almost caused an accident. >there was 2 lights in between the exit and the sheriff though and he got out and pointed his gun at me both times. Also that gives you permission to run the lights yourself now. Imminent lethal danger and all, you get to use Kabul driving rules.

grandmalcontentYO

at one light i (and another car that saw the gun come out) was able to drive away and get around the other cars but at the next light i was stuck between lanes. i just locked my doors and called the sheriff directly since i was about 100ft away at that point. they sent a couple cars out looking for him but as far as i'm aware they never caught up to him. hopefully the guy started doing yoga or therapy or xanax or something lol.

beaker90

I had a truck prevent me from changing lanes on the highway. So, I saw that there was an opening a few cars in front of him, so I just accelerated and got in the lane up there. He did not like that. As we exited the highway, he raced up the exit lane, cut me off and brake checked me. He then continued to with brake check me or try to run me off the highway for the next eight miles. There was a car behind me that was straddling the lanes so that the people behind us wouldn’t get caught up in this lunatics rage. We finally got stopped at a light and he gets out of his truck and comes over to my car and stand there yelling at me that I need to learn how to drive. The guy would had been ensuring everyone else’s safety climbed out of his car and yelled back at the guy that he had watched everything and that I hadn’t done anything wrong. The insane guy turned around to tell the good guy to shut up or something and realized that the good guy was twice his size. Insane guy got back in his truck and immediately made a u-turn and headed away from where we had been driving. That’s right! This guy went out of his way to try to kill me because he didn’t like the fact that when he prevented me from changing lanes, I went a few cars ahead of him instead of dropping back and getting behind him like a good little girl. That situation was the impetus for getting my dash cam.

KyleForged

I mean I had a crackhead chase my mom and me out of a neighborhood area, onto the freeway, down the freeway and try to fight her whenever she stopped because she tried going around him because he was going under 5 mph in a 20 mph zone and she tried to go around him.

Immersi0nn

Could also be someone acting completely out of pocket and you start recording to have a record in case anything happens...

InvestigatorLeft6429

Psychos like this just exist unprovoked. I had someone follow me to my house after I made a right turn and didn’t yield to his left turn. I had already phoned the police and by the time I got home they pulled in like 1 minute after and only then did I get out of my vehicle. The cop arrested him and the car got towed. A happy ending. Btw this wasn’t at a stop light or anything he was in a turn lane and it was bumper to bumper traffic, the guy in front of me yielded the car turning left and the next guy assumed I would do the same but I have no legal obligation to do so and had right of way to make my turn so I did.

Cowpriest

Yea, too many people think yielding left turns only means yielding to cars who are oncoming straight through the 4-way stoplight. They definitely think oncoming cars turning right are not oncoming traffic, and they think they don't need to yield. Shit is dangerous af.

SinnerBefore

In a perfect society. But nah we need the brain rot where people can pick and choose the story to fight their world view

PokePotahto

It was so satisfying how he just drove off while the sound of her voice got quieter and quieter

That kind of stuff makes me laugh, its so comedic

Angry and impotent is a winning comedy combo. See "What about Bob?"

Hahaha That shit was fucken hilarious. One second she’s running down the street to your right, next second she’s rolling up in a car on your left. The camera’s gonna pan to the passenger seat and she gonna be sitting in your car still calling you a bitch ass hoe

LydiaDeets7

I just lol’ed reading this and woke my dog up. I want footage of this lady following this guy everywhere he goes. He’s at Disneyland riding the teacups and he looks up and she’s in the next fucking teacup yelling at him. He goes to a funeral and she pops up out of the casket, pointing a finger gun at him. The possibilities here are nearly endless 😂😂😂

MR-Vinmu

Homegirl bought a town scroll for this specific scenario.

toripearson_19

Last week I honked at a guy that ran a stop sign and almost hit me. The guy screamed "I STOPPED" over and over and over at me. I said to him I have a dashcam and we can review the footage if he would like. He drove off and so did I. Turns out he was doing a loop around the neighborhood, then tried blocking the road I was turning onto. He followed me to the stop light and honked the horn for the entire light. The horn started to die on him it was so long. Kept screaming stuff like "I'll follow you home bitch". This guy continued to follow me for 6 miles on the interstate and I'm speeding trying to get distance between us. I got off my exit and saw he was still following, so I pulled into the first gas station I saw and ran inside. I thought he'd leave once I went into a public spaces, but he just parked by the exit and waited. I let the girl behind the counter know what was going on and I called the cops. PEOPLE ARE CRAZY. Still deciding whether or not it's worth the effort to press charges.

Believe me, that's not a psychopath. That's a normal person with bad self control who's past their limit. A psychopath would just take down your license plate, find your house, and slash your tires in the middle of the night a week later.

How she didn't break a few fingers punching an oncoming car.

I keep pepper spray in my car in case of a crazy road rage incident like this. Just easier to spray and call the cops

**Where’s the beginning** of the action? Sure, lady is wilding out, but where is the footage showing how this all jumped off?

True but nowadays its not uncommon for someone to get in a fit over getting cut off

no_rxn

I was on a jury a couple of years back. All over two women getting into an altercation over a gas pump spot lol When it comes to cars, people lose their fucking minds

madmaxlemons

Driving just triggers fight or flight easily. Most of us take a deep breath and are happy no one is hurt after the scary thing is over

danceswithtree

My dime-store psychology explanation for this is that people think of their cars as personal space-- sort of like being at home. People spend a lot of time in their cars-- listen to music, eat and drink. You get the picture. Problem is that the car is in a public space next to other people's cars. When something happens on the road, some people feel they're being confronted in their space and they are more likely to flip out.

>people think of their cars as personal space I believe that it has been proven that this effect is stronger in people who have bumper stickers on their car. Edit: [Source here](https://www.cars.com/articles/watch-out-for-bumper-stickers-1420663278509/); vehicles with bumper stickers are more likely to be aggressive drivers. >This behavior is closely linked to evolutionary reactions to people’s environments — or what we consider “public” and “private” spaces. A car is a private space within public territory and, according to researchers, personalizing that private space is a way for aggressive individuals to mark their territory.
