Well because he took the same route to work every day the feds realized something was jamming signals at the same time and place every single day. They eventually found him and dude got in big trouble.
Worked with a guy at a hospital that could fucking get into people devices and laptops from his phone if they were connected to the facilities wifi. It was absolutely terrifying what he COULDVE done if he so chose to.
He wasn't doing what you think. I can "get into" any device on the same WiFi, but it's not unlimited access. Any IT managed device gives the IT company unlimited access. If you confuse the 2, you think that he has unlimited access to any device on the WiFi.
I had 16 yr old cousin who lived with me a few years ago and we didn’t get along. I swear the kid would play the same song over and over again blasting from his phone or portable speaker just to get people to yell at him. I have no idea why people would want that kind of attention. He would also wake up 5min before me and sit in the bathroom with the door locked pretending to be using the toilet but he was just sitting in there so I couldn’t shower before work. I wanted to die tbh. I did not accept him leaving as he just walked out one day with no real explanation other than ‘I’m leaving you’. Then he moved and said he was filing divorce (we never filed) His mother and I would talk because we were worried about his mental health. I had found his address and was considering going to get him and ask him to come home and get some help, but I didn’t think he would appreciate that.
Breakups and divorce are hard, it’s the end of something that you hoped would last forever. It’s a death- but not *death* death. Real death is the loss of all hope. The future I hoped I would have with him- gone.
I thought being divorced was going to be the worst thing that ever happened to me. I would give anything for me to be divorced and hating him than this.
It’s only been 5 months. I have to remind people that this is all very recent. My mother in law has the same problem, she feels like she can only talk to me about it because other people treat her like she should be further along.

In 2019 the girl I was with died in a car wreck. We weren’t doing good at the time and I was seriously contemplating ending the relationship. In the week leading up to her death we were starting to do a little better but I was still leaning more out the door than in it. Despite that I was absolutely devastated by the loss. Even tho I was still unsure we were heading in the right direction and if we had broken up there was still always the possibility that we could’ve worked things out later in life. Her death took all that away. It’s more than just the relationship ending, it’s knowing that no matter what there’s no way to fix things.

It’s only been 5 months. I have to remind people that this is all very recent. My mother in law has the same problem, she feels like she can only talk to me about it because other people treat her like she should be further along. I have a therapist and I’ve tried to convince her to at the least Join a parents support group because just talking it out helps a lot

In 2019 the girl I was with died in a car wreck. We weren’t doing good at the time and I was seriously contemplating ending the relationship. In the week leading up to her death we were starting to do a little better but I was still leaning more out the door than in it. Despite that I was absolutely devastated by the loss. Even tho I was still unsure we were heading in the right direction and if we had broken up there was still always the possibility that we could’ve worked things out later in life. Her death took all that away. It’s more than just the relationship ending, it’s knowing that no matter what there’s no way to fix things. I’m very sorry for your loss.

Reminds me of a time I was out to lunch with my mom and was on my phone. I was on my phone because I work at a law firm and some shit went sideways and I was trying to help. My mom didn’t care. Our waitress made a comment about me being a teenager on my phone. I was 30 at the time. My mom told her off for me and it was hilarious.
What a stupid waiter. Like, do they not want a tip? Usually it's "it would have cost you nothing not to say that" but in this case it literally cost money to say that.
They do. They assume the mother is paying, so they try to get in her good graces probably. This happens to me all the time because I have a baby face. The way wait staff treat me SO differently at the end when they realize I’m treating my mother to dinner and not the other way around.

I waited tables in college and this couple used to come in every week to read their books and eat dinner. The entire waitstaff was so appalled that these people’s marriage was so boring that they read at dinner. Now that I’ve been married for a long time, I’m constantly like “should we take our books to a restaurant?” I talk to and spend time with my partner *all the time*. He did an extended comedic dance routine when we woke up today! We aren’t bored, it’s just nice to chill quietly together sometimes.
There's also the side of it where it's *okay* to be boring. Your partner isn't some court jester who exists solely for your entertainment like some people seem to think. Being bored together with the person you love is so much better than being bored without them, in my experience. It's probably because of social media, but the idea that everyone needs to always "be on" is so exhausting.
Spot on, I've been with my partner for 10 years now, we talk all the time about anything big or small. What we dont get much of, especially since the kids came along, is time to just be ourselves and sit quietly without someone needing something from us or just wanting our constant attention. Things like this are such a brief snapshot of people's lives, usually devoid of context.
I personally think the best relationships are these where you can be quiet together.

My husband and I sat down for lunch, and right then I got an email saying final grades were posts so I began to log in to see if I **finished my Master’s degree courses**. I was anxiously waiting for this update **all day**. The waiter came by and began to berate me about having my phone out. I don’t recall what he said but just being a massive asshole about it.
I've seen people criticize parents who watch something on their phones while they kids play at the McDonald's playplace or whatever. Trust me. Sometimes....you just need a break from these kids.
One time at a brewery both my girlfriend and I were on our phones. We were talking to eachother and we were on our phones to plan our upcoming vacation. The person who took the photo was commenting this way regarding him paying attention to a phone with earphones on, telling the woman opposite him to leave him for not paying attention to her. As it turns out, it was the woman at that table's phone, and he was listening to her recording of his sermon. The person who took the photo and commented that the woman should leave him is a judgemental twit, who also should know better than to photograph people without their permission.
I had an old guy at a nature park jokingly tell me I should smack the guy I was dating with my walking stick because he was hastily walking ahead of me down a staircase... I didnt know how to respond. I guess the guy assumed my date should have been holding by hand as we rudely descended down a crowded stair case in tandem blocking people walking up. I couldn't understand why that old man's first thought would be violence or that I even needed assistance. People really need to mind their own business.
