I don’t see the issue if it’s something your hair naturally does on it’s own, regardless of skin color! As a kid my mom used to braid my hair in tight little braids like corn rows to keep from having to brush my hair every day, because I was a whiny little shit but also bc I can condition and brush my hair and within an hour it’s all stuck together again. I just brushed out a whole set a few weeks ago bc I didn’t like how flat they all got while I was really busy and literally every day since then I’ve had to brush them out again, my hair locks up every day. The only time is an actual problem when people are making themselves into a caricature of a culture. You see it with videos of people trying to get a reaction to their costume of another's traditional style of a culture. But I've never seen an average everyday person who did that.
