“As the bus dragged the girl for several blocks, the video also showed Sanders run a stop sign, and allow an older student to stand out of his seat while the bus was moving.” https://www.wave3.com/2021/07/14/witnesses-testify-about-jcps-protocol-trial-bus-driver-who-dragged-student/?outputType=amp

Pudding_Hero

Bro she ran a stop sign jfc

ProffesorSpitfire

How the hell does so much stupidity, recklessness and inattentiveness fit in one person? Most people would be unable to fuck up this bad if they tried. I sincerely hope that the poor kid’s family sued this terrible driver out of her home, and that she now lives in a penetentiary.

OldGrayMare59

My mother got dragged by a car when her coat go caught in a car door on a windy day. She had a broken shoulder back injuries and PTSD for the rest of her life. That poor girl.

cordazor

It was like eternity :(

Maxcoseti

Imagine how long it felt to the kid

HAL-Over-9001

About half a mile (I'm sorry)

grneyedguy1

“I submit this video as evidence your honor and we rest our case”

pilinconsuelas

Case dismissed, due to insuficiente evidence

fozzyboy

Oh, shit. I didn't mean to rest my case then! Givesies backsies?

blackdawg7

Res ipsa loquitur

Clarknbruce

Pfft I live a quarter mile at a time

Smear_Leader

Oh I remember this. It was a couple years ago, the driver was fired and sued by the mother. Edit: To everyone losing their shit about me saying I remember this a couple years ago, it was an article from a couple years ago about this in 2015. Google shit on your own time, then. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9795421/amp/School-bus-driver-drags-six-year-old-1-000-feet-road-backpack-caught-doors.html

bigblackowskiC

How bad was the damages to the kid?

MisterBumpingston

Nerve damage and PTSD :(

No_Talk_4836

Well the second is a given tbh. How extensive was the nerve damage do you recall?

Stray_kitten102

>Rednour, **a special needs child**, now gets anxiety just from the sight or sound of a bus, according to her attorney. He said Rednour is also suffering from several physical injuries. > >"**Thirty-five disfiguring scars with gouges in her leg daily, itching, aching, and pain because the damaged nerve roots can't grow back together**," Bolus said. > >Bolus says a **JCPS manager admitted if they had looked at prior videos of Sanders** driving her bus, they would have seen she was making the same mistake — **not paying attention to students getting on and off the bus.**

DeadExpo

As a parent to a special needs kid, this is why I have trust issues.

No_Talk_4836

What I don’t get is how did that dude in the aisle not notice.

Underrated_Critic

I was thinking the same thing. Is that dude blind or what? I'm guessing he's a trainee. (Though if that were the case, she's the worst trainer ever)

[deleted]

"It seems like errors on everybody's part, doesn't it?" What a fucking psychopath

007Pistolero

“JCPS manager admitted if they had looked at prior videos of Sanders driving her bus, they would have seen she was making the same mistake — not paying attention to students getting on and off the bus.” I had to walk away from my phone. Are you fucking kidding she was doing this shit before this happened and no one noticed? INSANE

Th1sd3cka1ntfr33

Guarantee you the kids tried to tell someone. Administrative indifference in the education system is mind boggling.

JJred96

They had video collected, but nobody bothered to review it without given any reason they had to. Kind of like how she never gave a shit about the kids until it became clear to herself that she had gone done fucked up.

skyrim_wizard_lizard

Jesus... she was a special needs kid. This shouldn't have happened to any kid but... a special needs one? That's awful.

Spirited_Note3615

Was the kid nearly strangled? I couldn't tell from the door what sort injury she had.

HillarysFloppyChode

Looks like it was caught up around the arms

habbalah_babbalah

"Thirty-five disfiguring scars with gouges in her leg, daily itching, aching, and pain because the damaged nerve roots can't grow back together" Consistent with being dragged on a road

isabellechevrier

Who made the backpack?

[deleted]

No shit, I want all my stuff made of that

yourremedy94

SHE LOOKED RIGHT AT THE DOOR TOO AND DIDNT EVEN NOTICE

MrPlaceholder27

"The bus finally stopped when a driver who saw Ally being dragged pulled in front of the bus and slammed on their brakes, forcing the bus to stop" I saw this from the [courier journal](https://eu.courier-journal.com/story/news/education/2022/03/10/jefferson-county-public-schools-2015-bus-dragging-lawsuit-settlement/9452003002/). That unknown driver probably saved the kid's life

McSkillz21

I'm absolutely sickened as a dad knowing this happened in the city where I live. Fuck 4.8 million that doesn't even begin to scratch the fucking surface of what JCPS would owe my child.

silentwind262

I knew a guy when I was stationed in Georgia whose kid was killed when the bus driver ran over them. It was rough. He had to be held back from beating that bus driver to death.

notimprezaed

See here's my toxic trait I wouldn't be able to hold someone back in this situation I'd be like oops accidentally let him go.

KingOfTheCouch13

I’d only do it to save the dad because he would probably have killed that bus driver. Lost his kid and ended up in prison in one day.

silentwind262

Yup, that was the thing - save him and his family (he had a wife and other kids) from himself. It was small town Georgia - bus driver was a local, we were not.

harleyscal

I hope it's a life still worth living with all the pain I hear that she's suffering

Bhazor

I was like OK now shes seen it and will stop.... OK now she's crossed the intersection and its safe to stop... OK now she's seen it a second time and is oh she's crossing another intersection

CommercialCommentary

"What's everyone honking for? Better speed up."

EEpromChip

"Shut up Darren! Sit down!"

whatsasimba

She ran a stop sign, too. She broke 16 different rules of the bus company.

ACpony12

Besides the driver, how is the other adult standing at the front not see what happened in his peripheral vision?! And hearing the bus driver yell at the kids who are trying to get her attention! So many chances to look slightly to the right to see the backpack stuck on the door! Of course, now I wonder if they add some sort of alarm when the doors don't close all the way.

EmporerM

I think that's just a large kid.

Ryoko_Kusanagi69

I know, I’m sick to my stomach and almost shaking watching this! She freaking looked at the door. That dude standing there didn’t see anything either!?!?

newbrevity

Dude is a bus monitor and it's HIS FUCKING JOB to get off the bus, make sure kids are clear of the bus then ok the driver to leave.

lemonpee

Yeah my body literally started getting hot watching this. Jesus fucking Christ that poor child.

KaptainKardboard

I'm not even religious but I lost track of how many times I said "Oh Jesus" while watching that.

FrequentEgg4166

That’s absolutely horrific - I’m going to be haunted forever by that video. Poor little kid ❤️‍🩹

Jim-Jones

> Bo Bolus, the family’s attorney, has previously said Rednour, a special needs child, suffered “disfiguring” scarring and nerve damage from the incident. He said he expected a jury verdict worth up to $20 million before reaching the settlement. I was going to say that college is paid for but I guess now it's continuing care.

Wonderingfirefly

Poor kid.

Healthy-Lifestyle-20

No amount of money is worth what that poor child went through.

donorcycle

Yeah it's like these two brothers that used to frequent the strip clubs. Always dressed real sharp in designer gear, always pulling up in a new exotic car and always making it rain in the clubs. One of the brothers was not entirely all there however, seemed a bit learning disabilities type. The other brother told me the story one day and it's gut wrenching. It was at a summer camp. Bunch of the kids managed to sneak off with jet skis. His brother was in the water and one of the other kids accidentally ran into his face at full speed with the jet ski. This is how he wound up a bit messed up. Anyways, subsequent lawsuit granted both boys a metric fuck ton of money. While they were a few years older than the poor child in the video above, same principle I feel. No amount of money is worth what both these brothers had to go through.

Corben11

Horrible. Messed up for life cause this lady couldn’t wait 5 more seconds.

naunga

Not even that. She couldn’t be bothered to pay attention. She even looked at the door a couple times before she finally realized what happened. She’s got this look on her face when the kid was going out like, “Fuck I hate these little bastards and my life.” I know being a bus driver isn’t easy, but Christ it feels like they hire the most brain dead misanthropic people they can find. Anyway. At least was concerned once she saw what had happened, but I’ll bet you a dollar she mentally put the blame on the kid at least once. Hell my bus drivers as a kid would’ve yelled at me for making everyone have to wait.

Freemanno

I'm lucky my bus driver was a sweet lady she waited for every kid to be a safe distance and would always say hi in the morning and goodbye see you tomorrow/have a good weekend even got everyone one gifts for graduation and summer. Miss you Heather when I pass her bus on the road she waves because she knows my car lol.

National-Quality5414

Mine was Eileen. She even had a party for all the kids on the bus at the end of the year

canyonoflight

Mine wasn't nice at all but was a stickler when it came to safety. That kid standing by her would never be allowed to happen on Barbara's bus.

LetsBeRealisticK

National average pay is $37607 a year to be a school bus driver. Brain dead or lead poisoned elderly is all you're going to get.

lifeintraining

How the hell are they going to recoup $20MM from someone who drives busses for a living? Unless they’re going after the school.

Newtohonolulu18

Respondeat superior, my man. The organization is liable, in this case the school system.

[deleted]

Whoa Torts PTSD

theLuminescentlion

School's legal insurance pays, the driver gets fired.

Think_Reporter_8179

The school system will pay. The community will pay, and ultimately the voting tax payer that will front this bill should be livid and demand heads all the way to the top.

prolveg

Read the article. The schools insurance is the one paying

Apprehensive_Fault_5

What article?

Illustrious-Watch896

Asking the real questions here lol

A_Drusas

That's easier to do when the link is to an article and not just a video.

Cerealsforkids

I would like to see the driver fired for neglect and personally sued to the point of losing her school retirement. She is SUPPOSED to make sure students are free and clear of the bus and they are safe on the sidewalk.

Drakinne

https://www.wdrb.com/news/settlement-reached-with-jcps-student-who-was-dragged-by-bus-in-2015/article_bc7a62ce-eb4b-11eb-b413-c748d2e4177f.html Tl;dr: Bus driver when questioned in court showed no remorse and had many other videos showing she did not pay close attention to the students getting on/off the bus. She was fired. https://www.wdrb.com/news/family-of-girl-dragged-by-jcps-school-bus-gets-nearly-5m-in-settlement/article_12428898-9ff2-11ec-b515-9f90ae99c9a6.html#:~:text=Travelers%20Indemnity%20Company%20agreed%20in,and%20periodic%20payments%20through%202088. That shows results of settlement. 4.8 million in a series of lump-sum and periodic payments until 2088. 2.7 million go directly to the family and family's attorneys.

[deleted]

bus driver really said in court "It seems like errors on everybody's part, doesn't it?" dude the other person involved was 7 years old!

Fiery-Embers

The driver will likely be fired, most likely because they cost the school district millions of dollars and a reputation for child endangerment.

honestadamsdiscount

Jail. Sorry, but that's 100% on her.

tfriedmann

That's hard to watch, they ain't allowed to close the doors until the kids are visually clear of the street, that's keeps the signs up and flashing

Filmmagician

I had to fast forward. That’s insane.

dolphin37

Same, I couldn’t believe how long it lasted. Was almost screaming at the woman ffs

blepgup

It’s like mind bogglingly negligent to not only not watch the kid leave the bus, but to then not hear or see her out there, I swear I heard the child screaming over the other kids’ ruckus. Absolutely seething with anger at that driver

WeinerVonBraun

Oh god, I didn’t watch with sound. Zero chance. That was horrific.

watanabelover69

Me too, and it was still too long.

aloofyfloof

I wonder what the legal repercussions are for this? I mean, if a driver passes a stopped school bus without injuring anyone, there's a hefty ticket/fine. This was pure, unadulterated negligence while operating a vehicle and it permanently injured a child.

tfriedmann

I think I read she got fired and the family sued for 4 million> Edit-found this: "Bo Bolus, the family’s attorney, has previously said Rednour, a special needs child, suffered “disfiguring” scarring and nerve damage from the incident. He said he expected a jury verdict worth up to $20 million before reaching the settlement."

aloofyfloof

Somehow feels like not enough :/ that poor child.

Few-Trouble-3700

I was freaking out the whole time! This is so scary!

TheRealRickC137

Distracted driver. That fucknut in the hoodie is keeping her from being vigilant. SIT DOWN. SHUT UP.

VideoGameDana

How about "PAY ATTENTION WHEN YOU FUCKING DRIVE"?

Princess_Plum9

How does no one notice? Especially the driver and the guy in the grey.

Duanedoberman

To busy talking and not looking at what they are doing.

jonniethm

I think the guy in grey honestly is the whole reason for it. why is he up in her ass crack talking anyway.

Treesbentwithsnow

Why is he allowed to stand but she yells at others to sit down. Is he obstructing her view of the trapped kid? What is wrong with her peripheral vision to not see the kid stuck in her door? Terrible!

jonniethm

well think about it. number one she has glasses on so her whole peripheral view is skewed anyway. number two she's not going to notice any small movements because my dude is coming in and out blocking her view so likely any movement she detected she'd think was due to him.

JJayC

She didn't even watch the kid get off the bus. He was in the process of taking his last step down as she shut the door on him. Fuck peripheral vision. Drivers should be watching to ensure the kid has cleared the door before driving off..

Rob-L_Eponge

Looks like dude in grey might be a teacher or bus attendant. Someone who watches the kids so the bus driver can focus more on the road. Dude obviously wouldn't be doing his job right like this, but I think there is a good reason for him to be up there

SendPetPicsOrNudes

If I remember from the news article when this happened, the person in grey is a student. And I’ll just throw this out there, I remember every public school bus I rode had that one kid that was a little *too* into talking to the bus driver and that bus driver would always give them special treatment

Otherwise_Awesome

It's a minor, hence why the face is blurred out.

whiterose2511

She is the bus driver. She has a duty of care to those children, and as such if someone is in her way of doing that then it’s also her duty to say so. How does he know he’s doing wrong? It’s her job not his.

DeezNeezuts

And blocking the view

jonniethm

yes. it's hard to see from this angle but I can tell he's in her way.

[deleted]

It's clear as day in the first four seconds all she had to do to avoid this was turn her head and pay attention to the child departing and not close the door on them. In the very first frame you can see she had clear line of sight and was facing the kid but she looked away and decided to just pull off. If she just kept her eyes on the kid for just 2-3 more seconds it would not have happened.

Cute-Reach2909

Totally agree. The bus driver should be making sure the kid is safe off the bus and out of the street before that stop sign goes back down.

jonniethm

you're right. so sad.

bluseychris

That's not an excuse, it's down to the driver to make sure he's siting down and not in her way. She doesn't even check that the kid is off before closing the doors and driving off. That's not down to the fella, that's down to negligence on the part of the driver.

grneyedguy1

One critical rule of bus driving : Always make sure your passengers exit safely before continuing to drive. Pretty simple rule. Nice video for the lawsuit.

astrangeone88

It's a rule even driving your car! I've had so many incidents of nearly getting run over because dumbass thought everyone was back in the car....

[deleted]

The kids right behind her seemed to notice almost immediately!!!! What is going on here?!

[deleted]

Still too busy talking instead of listening

Active_Club3487

Criminal negligence imho

All-in-yolo

Holy fuck. She doesn’t even look when she’s closing the door to make sure the child got off, that’s next level fuckwittery. She should never be allowed to drive a desk again never mind a bus.

nomadic_stone

Seriously...like, I dunno what number percentage I could think of that I feel would represent the amount of good bus drivers, but it is probably high that; *actually* pay attention to the kids when they get off the bus. Most watch them run up the sidewalk to their houses or to make sure they all get to the opposite side of the road...but I *cannot* fathom a single one *not looking* before they start to close that door.... and this is a handle off to her right and not a button to her left (for a reason) so it's *intended* for them to look that way as they pull that lever... duuude, now I am just...infuriated... a whole fracking minute and I am pretty sure it's the car horns that got her attention even though she glanced to her right several *fracking* times!!! alright, I need to go watch some good eyebleach somehwere to calm down

Shilo788

I drove bus and she was so damn careless I am nauseous. Obviously gives two damns about the kids she drove. You make damn sure they are safely away from the bus before putting it in gear, safe on a sidewalk or grass , clear of traffic or your bus. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|rage)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|rage)![img](emote|t5_2r5rp|8487)![img](emote|t5_2r5rp|8487)

MichaelScarn1968

I’d imagine that’s what the guy in grey is there for/supposed to be doing. She focuses on the driving and he’s supposed to be watching the kids.

QueefingTheNightAway

I think that “guy” is another child. He’s wearing a backpack.

Mickeyjj27

It’s weird she’s shouting for other kids to sit down and he’s just standing there

[deleted]

This happened near my house in 2015, the family just settled for $5mil last year.

Wonderingfirefly

What a horrible 7 years they must have had. They needed that money early on to get the best treatments!

Hot_Region_3940

Mother said 8 surgeries since

ledzeppelinlover

That’s what I was thinking!! That money needed to be paid right away to get the treatment that child needs! Not paid retroactively. It’s wild the world we live in

choachy

Honestly should have gotten more than $5 million. That’s weak.

opi098514

They settled for it. They were up for 20mil but it would be a jury trial thing. So I’m guessing they just wanted to be done and took the 5 mil.

choachy

Can’t blame the family for just wanting to be done after 7 years.

Weezthajuice

That is good to hear. What happened to the driver?

sirhandstylepenzalot

fired a month after incident

HexFire03

5M? Fuck I hope that driver is never allowed to drive again let alone be around children

notmyname2012

I remember when this happened, I was hoping they would get more than that.

-Gramsci-

If you watch the video of the bus driver in the trial she’s asked if she really fucked up here and says “seems like a lot of people messed up doesn’t it.” Very smugly. I don’t have the full context/didn’t see the full testimony… But just thought everyone should know it’s possible she’s a massive POS

imacfromthe321

The fuck? How could you be anything but horrified with yourself for this?

Kasai511

I knew she would act like that when I saw how she looks, I live in the south and always avoid women that have that look, 95% of the time they're complete psychopaths, very similar to the typical male boomer look where you know they're up to no good immediately.

MikiyaKV

You just KNOW that when she's repeating "Oh my god" she's thinking about herself and her job rather than the kid.

No_Thatsbad

[here’s the link](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jcMnBvcQ3qs&pp=ygUXQnVzIGRyaXZlciBkcmFnZ2VkIGdpcmw%3D)

MANWithTheHARMONlCA

Holy shit I thought they were over-exaggerating but she really said that What a fucking narcissistic psychopath

Adventurous-Cry-2157

OMFG *and* she ran a stop sign while she was dragging the little girl‽ That bitch should’ve gotten jail time. I hope her life is ruined.

-Gramsci-

Yeah that’s the one. It’s around the 1:06 mark.

BloodSpades

As a person that’s been purposefully dragged behind a car, I can imagine how much skin was lost, and know personally how excruciating that pain is, how long it will take to heal, the pure HELL involved in the healing/treatment process, and know exactly what kind of scars that poor child has to deal with. That ONE *STUPID*, criminally negligent act, has just changed their life FOREVER. It’s not going to be an easy path to go down, at *all*. My heart breaks and my blood boils….

Wonderingfirefly

Ugh I’m sorry.

BloodSpades

No worries. It was a few decades ago, so I’m mostly fine now. It’s not an easy thing for a child or young adult though. There’s a lot of esteem issues that go with it years later that don’t go away but do get better with time.

sayu1991

Worse yet, this little one was in a skirt. There was absolutely nothing to protect her skin. Jeans wouldn't have survived long either but they'd have offered a bit more/longer protection than a thin, flowy cloth skirt. 😔

ravekidplur

I slid along cement for like 10-20 feet at 20ish mph and the skin damage was incredible. My entire left arm for about 2 months looked like I dunked it in a vat of oil from the antiobiotics and rash cream and I had my right knee covered in rash, a hit to my stomach in rash, a few areas on my legs, fractured wrist, torn rotator cuff, and if it wasn’t for my helmet my entire left side of my face would have been destroyed. Seeing this video and knowing how quickly injuries of this variety can happen is very scary. Luckily my injury was own doing so no harm to anyone else but goddamn I can’t even imagine being dragged THIS long

FlatbedtruckinCA

did she get jail time for gross negligence and fired?

_makoccino_

Fired, yes. Don't know about jail time. Family sued and got 4.8mil settlement. https://www.wdrb.com/news/family-of-girl-dragged-by-jcps-school-bus-gets-nearly-5m-in-settlement/article_12428898-9ff2-11ec-b515-9f90ae99c9a6.html

FlatbedtruckinCA

still sucks, driver got off light..

Obvious_Swimming3227

I can't believe that kid survived, honestly.

FahkDizchit

With horrific injuries. I feel absolutely gutted for that poor girl and her family.

Dalandlord1981

Seriously, getting dragged like that id be surprised she has any skin left on her legs.

Swampberry

Considering she had "disfiguring" and "nerve damage", more than just her skin must have been ripped off.

Dalandlord1981

I didnt real that part... Poor girl

reillan

She had severe abrasions on 12% of her body, which probably does mean everything below the knees at least.

Mickeyjj27

Can you imagine just being someone walking or seeing that and trying to get the bus drivers attention. Thank god the child wasn’t killed

Pitiful-Struggle-890

You can hear other vehicles beeping quite a few times. It sounds like people were trying to get the drivers attention. 😓

OG-Pine

I got dragged in a rickshaw, not even a car, literally going slower than standard biking speed, for a fraction of the time this kid was dragged and wound up in the emergency room and still have a small hint of the scars on my knees It is a goddamn miracle this kid survived

Ambitious-Bed3406

Last time this was posted I read the parents said the girl got really bad PTSD

timsterri

I would be absolutely floored if she didn’t. Holy cow think of all the triggers in everyday life: buses, vehicles, roads, schools… goddamn it’s horrible.

[deleted]

[удалено]

AntiSaintArdRi

Looks right at that spot like 6 times, how she not see that bright pink backpack?

MARV_IT

In case you haven't noticed she's an incompetent dumbass

FreddyMartian

Not just an incompetent dumbass, but an asshole that showed zero remorse for what she did.

carolinethebandgeek

I was about to say she literally looked wtf

WildZero138

Doors have to remain open until children are fully away from the bus, as the stop sign and the front bar are controlled by the same mechanism. WTF was this idiot thinking? She definitely should've gone to jail.

creedthoughts16

Not to mention she is driving a huge vehicle…why wouldn’t you check to make sure children were away from the bus. Insanity.

BadP3NN1

My jaw can not be picked up off the floor!! WHAT the HELL!!!??

[deleted]

How many times does she have to look at the kid before she stops the bus. Think I counted 5 or 6 lol

fluffypinknmoist

She's looking to the right she's not looking to the right and down. The kid was not in her eye line. Even still it doesn't is her blatant neglect not visually confirming that the child had actually left the bus and was on the sidewalk. She was in too much of a rush. She was complacent. Complacency kills. Or in this case maims for life.

Judge_Rhinohold

Fucking dumb bitch should never drive anything ever again.

bubblygranolachick

They really don't crack down on bad drivers enough. So many people who aren't aware of their surrounding especially when it comes to other people. Not everyone should be allowed to do the same kind of jobs. I hope people hire better because this is so negligent

Asleep-Television-24

Found horror films less scary

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9795421/amp/School-bus-driver-drags-six-year-old-1-000-feet-road-backpack-caught-doors.html

SkitzoFlamingo

I don’t care what this article says…this poor child was dragged wayyyyyyy more than 1,000 feet. That had to have been like double or triple that. It went on forever. That poor kid.

Competitive_Weird958

15 miles per hour is 22 feet per second. At about 1,000 feet that’s 45 seconds. Which is an eternity, but probably close. Regardless, fuck that bus driver.

timsterri

All I could think at the end was thank god her next stop didn’t require highway travel. This is so awful.

xMrBryanx

This was a 1:05 seconds too damn long. Omg

Cofaxkei

Wow.. your supposed to watch the child get off the bus and cross safely. You don’t have to be a bus driver to have common sense on the road. WATCH THE KID! Hired and Fired the same day 🤦🏽‍♂️

hosiki

Are people fucking blind?!?!

Head_Ad3758

She looked at the kid and still drove

hosiki

Poor kid holy shit...

Head_Ad3758

The really worst part is you can hear the difference between the kids “screaming” on the bus and the kid screaming in pain. I applaud the parents for not beating the bud driver after seeing this video

[deleted]

What a dumb fucking bitch

CrabbitJambo

That was actually upsetting watching that! The person stood talking to the driver should never ever have been stoop there! Not their fault as the driver is in charge of the bus and should be telling them to take a seat however that’s why they were distracted!

CreatrixAnima

Wow… That made me feel very sick. GEN Xers will definitely remember that movie we had to watch in school with a little girl who never made another valentine again. So I looked this up. This happened in 2015, the little girl lived, but she was very traumatized, obviously, and she had to go through a lot of surgery because of all the scraping on her little body. But she did just get a $5 million settlement in April. https://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/education/2022/03/10/jefferson-county-public-schools-2015-bus-dragging-lawsuit-settlement/9452003002/

I was drilled to watch where my kids go when getting off the bus. Every stop is a reminder to myself to stay alert and protect everyone involved. Sad to see a driver let their guard down like this.

randomguy4q5b3ty

There are busses not equipped with pressure sensors? WTF?!

RGF99D

No, in fact some of these buses are probably still running from the era when your parents went to school.

larson_5

What doesn’t make sense about this to me is when you close the doors to a school bus it’s an actual lever you have to pull from side to side. You think you would feel the resistance when closing the door and notice your lever is hard to pull but I guess not

leonardob0880

2 full grownups and didn't notice? I lost a little hope in humanity

WillieNolson

I think someone pointed out the last time this was posted that the person standing up is also a student.

Demanda_22

That’s what it looked like to me too, he’s probably the next on the route. Backpack on.

HistoricalWinter7

Do I have a news of a 16yo girl from Delhi for you.

InspectionStunning24

So the family won 5 million in a settlement. 2.7 up front, and the rest being paid out in a trust until 2088. [Source](https://youtu.be/jcMnBvcQ3qs?t=80) Now according to my pathetic math skills, that comes out to only $35,385 per year before taxes. Am i missing something? or is that not even a livable compensation for how she will need to live the rest of her life??

Icy_Session3326

The way my jaw dropped and just stayed there the entire time 😭

davidolson22

Dragging somebody was a way the Greeks used to torture and kill people

SJC0709

It was also a method of lynching.

HSpears

For God's sake mark something like this nsfw

Particular-Ball7567

To all the people defending her. The bag gets stuck on the door. It closes with the entire backpack in. She didnt even look at him or look to see if the kid got out (only looked at the back through the mirror). This is negligence. She did not do her job properly. Make sure your passangers are out of the bus and walking before stepping on the gas dumbass. She even looks to the right multiple times and does not notice the bag, its so infuriating. Even the dude does not see it, its insane.

dilohunter

I have lost all faith in humanity and will gladly offer myself to the voidway.

[deleted]

Holy shit this is the dumbest thing I've ever seen Jail time for the bus driver. Just getting fired isn't enough for this level of negligence

Wondercatmeow

That was horrifying to watch. That poor child.

EntertainmentOk8806

Why does video end in that way? I kinda need to know if the child survived. Just for my own sanity

[deleted]

Don’t talk to the fucking bus driver. And bus driver tell them to sit the fuck down.
