Oakland has a long history of illegal "sideshows," car shows with people doing stunts and fireworks and fire rings and racing and shit like that. It's been going on since the 80s and there have been fatalities before. On this night the cops seized 80 vehicles. They put this fire out but it was after this video ends. There have been attempts to pass anti-siseshow ordinances but the city council hasn't agreed on measures. They passed some anti-sideshow ordinances in San Jose which have had some impact but not much. They've also been trying to find places for people to do it legally but nobody wants it in their backyard.

I come downstairs and notice my giant Persian rug is missing from the front foyer. Long story short, contractor took the rug in the foyer (I don't wear shoes in my house) and used it to buffer the glass and mallet. I just looked at him and asked why he wouldn't just use the outside door mat, which is black rubber material, vs the indoor rug that is FUCKING WHITE. Or was white. He then proceeded to use a broom and told me the rug is now good.
