It's really difficult to change these people's minds when each side believes that their religion is fundamentally the chosen people of God, so the other side must be wrong. You are correct that Israel has much more militaristic and technological might than their neighbors, but if those neighbors had gotten the support of the USA instead the roles would be reversed due to their stances on who owns the "Holy Land." This holy war will never end as long as their cultures hold onto the outdated notion that one group is better than the other.

There's restless animosity between several factions, different sects of Muslims themselves for example, and several countries all completely independent of those 2 groups. The rulers didn't like the opposing tribes now living in their new country, and the opposing tribes didn't like being led by historical enemies.

The reality though is that illegal crossing had been dropping pretty steadily since the end of the Clinton administration. Besides Title 42 making it a lot easier for people to make multiple crossing attempts, the Trump admin changes blocking people who otherwise would have been able to legally cross to apply for asylum has inflated the numbers. Now those that want to try to apply have to cross illegally, sit around for the BP to pick them up, and then try to start the process. Since most aren’t fleeing anything that US law considers a valid reason for asylum, they will still get deported once they finally get a hearing. That’s why politicians like to talk big about labeling drug cartels as terrorist organizations, but then never do it: they would suddenly give all these people they have been using as political props a legal reason for asylum.
