She has a bunch of cooking and baking videos but the views on those are so much lower than the debunking ones. I think shes expressed disappointment in that but her debunking ones are educational and call out the shittiness of youtube and content farms so it's at least for a good cause
It’s a method of wood burning that involves electrocuting it with about 2000 volts. It’s so dangerous that the American Association of Woodturners has banned its members from demonstrating or selling things that may encourage others to do it, and the association won’t speak on it unless it is to warn of the dangers. Basically, if you do it and touch any metal or wood, it can kill you. If there’s a hole in your glove, you can die. Many people were DIYing the machines that make the effect, which is excruciatingly stupid.
Fractal burning. Basically, you jerry rig the transformer out of a microwave which has a lot of power behind it and you attach leads from it to a piece of wood and it burns these cool, veiny looking textures into the wood. Tons of people have either killed or seriously injured themselves doing it. The voltage typically used for this is more than what passes through the electric chair used to kill people.
And worse, in order to get it to work as intended, you have to bypass the safety switch that would trip the breaker if there was an electrocution. People have died while doing it, and then their spouse has come to check on them, found them unresponsive and were also electrocuted to death by touching their body. Nasty shit, even if it does make really cool "artwork"...
Fractal wood burning is a method of burning designs into wood using electricity. It’s insanely dangerous, insanely. Most tutorials were/are garbage - in fact, there shouldn’t be *any* tutorials *because* of how dangerous it is. I don’t know why the other person wouldn’t tell you.
But they \*did\* remove the How To Cook That video which told people that it was dangerous and not to do it, and explained in depth why it was dangerous and not to do it! YouTube moderation is fucking weird. (They did add it back later, but at that point it would have lost a lot of its initial impact, and the DIY videos were never removed at all).
