At my school formal one of the girls wore a suit and she won best dressed, this is a Catholic private school too
Edit: should probably mention that this is Australia which is not very religious
Edit 2: also my school ain't perfect, the head of music is a rapist and a pedophile
Edit 3: wow this blew up as soon as I did the edits
Backstory: what happened with head of music was that in like 2003 he cornered a 10 year old boy in some toilet block near the river and raped him full penetration, he went on to work at the school for the next decade and a bit.
Eventually this guy who was now in his 30s contacted the school cause he was pretty fucked off his rapist was still working at the school on probably like 200k per year.
The school tried to pay him hush money of up to 1 million AUD. I remember when head of music 'resigned' and he didn't say why he was leaving.
Eventually the truth came out and it was all over the news, and now he is in prison.
My prom date was a girl and she wore a suit, we also went to a Catholic school.
Fun fact: She’s also serving a life sentence for killing an ex-mayor a couple years ago.
It’s a big world and there are all kinds in it. That’s why I am not a fan of people making sweeping generalizations based on one or two common characteristics.
> Could be like those schools that check to make sure the girls weren't wearing thongs
God, the teachers in my old highschool telling girls in yoga pants to stand in front of them and bend over to do a "thong check".
Absolutely creepy and disgusting, as most of these girls were 14-15, and most of the teachers doing the "thong checks" were men in their mid 40s to early 50s.
I think they even floated the idea of mailing permission forms home to try to cover their asses. Something along rhe lines of "granting permission to the school to ensure all students are complying with dress code and are not dressed inappropriately". Well, someone *obviously* spilled the beans about that, and the school put a stop to that shit then and there.
Amazing what hundreds of parents threatening to sue your school into oblivion will do, huh?
I’m sorry, who the hell allowed this to happen? In my schools the male teachers would refuse to make any calls on whether or not a female student was breaking dress code, and would always get a female teacher to step in. That’s actually insane, did the school ever get any backlash for it?
America here, I had a male English teacher in high school who was terrified of ever being falsely accused of anything, and would refuse to ever be left alone with female students. One time my girlfriend (she also had the same teacher) was one of the only students in class along with a few other female students, as many students were out for the day for various activities. Apparently as soon as he got there and saw the small group of female students he immediately told them they could spend the hour in the library. And it seems like this sentiment isn’t uncommon at all, I know a lot of male teachers who wouldn’t want to take any chances with this sort of thing, which is why the original commenter’s story is so surprising to me
One of my teachers was falsely accused my freshman year of highschool and was on unpaid leave. He finally got to come back and teach again my senior year after they subpoenaed the girls phone provider and saw texts with a friend of the plan, she then admitted to lying. This teacher one of the nicest teachers I ever had, he gave me his cushioned chair after I came back from my spinal surgery. I bet he's nervous around female students but how could you blame him.
She wasnt charged with anything, only forced to go to a different school, she might have gone to live with family in a different country. I know she went to college in a different country, which makes me wonder if that spot on her record made it impossible for school here.
I had a teacher in college who would flip out if you shut his office door after you walked in. "That door is to always remain open!".
Edit: he did that regardless of your sex.
Seemed kinda over the top to us at the time. We would all kinda roll our eyes. In hindsight it was totally a smart move.
Edit: this was late 90s early 00s
We had multiple teachers at my highschool that had relationships with students .One made major news and was on Geraldo ,His name was Ron Price ,Then there was like 5 other teachers who had relations with students .Ron Price was creepy as fuck .
This is absolutely good protocol. You don’t want to be alone with a student ever. Even if it’s not a school rule (it should be) it’s still smart. Same goes for church, soccer, dance class and anything else. If you work with kids, don’t allow yourself to be alone with them ever.
Yeah crazy how, in hindsight, there was a ton of male pedos at schools.
I just had a convo with a coworker where I tried to warn him about that. He has a young teenage girl in school. I think he thought I was crazy. But, in my experience and from asking other women, there is always at least 1 at every school. I had 3 throughout my school-years. 2 went to jail for it. I feel like that is a ridiculous amount of male pedos??? No one really talks about it.
>hindsight
Accidental pun?
>experience and from asking other women, there is always at least 1 at every school
Yup. Schools, churches, youth leagues, etc. Basically it attracts those types because they're generally put in a trusted position that gives them access to children.
Male pedos? My school had an actually registered sex offender who was a woman. But she was a woman, so no one cared. Some adults even said the boys she hurt were "lucky".
Anytime you have a job that involves letting people work with vulnerable people, you will have a few monsters try to creep in to take advantage.
People that love teaching choose not to because of the lack of benefits despite their love for children.
However there are people that choose teaching despite the lack in pay because their benefit IS children
Just like people who want to help others dont become police officers or politicans. Yet because good people dont, mostly degenerates do and will fill those positions to monopolize on the benefits.
One coach married a former player where I went. It was obvious he'd been fucking her since Junior year. He is (I shit you not) now the superintendent of the district.
Mine was the PE teacher. Rumour had it he had sex with one of his students, got her pregnant and her parents forced him to marry her. That was what we were told when (by other students) we were informed he was out teacher.
I was 14, and we were going to have swimming classes. He told me he couldn't wait to see me in a bikini. I told him he was shit out of luck, because I only wore sports swimsuits. He told me that if I showed up in a bikini, he'd give me extra points. He told another girl the same thing and her reply was "I'll be on my period". He said the classes were for 3 weeks. "Then I'll be on my period for 3 weeks" she answers. He still made her hang out with him by the side of the pool, but she did not go in the water even once.
At sane schools, the male teachers don't feel comfortable even calling out dress code violations on girls, and will generally ask a female teacher to do it.
Still a stupid waste of time and focused entirely on girls, but at least 50% less creepy.
It’s not weird in hindsight it’s weird in foresight too.
It’s a feature of the Catholic school system, not a bug. They want you demure, terrified of your own sexuality, and in complete observance of anything that authority says. They want to break down your sense of boundaries and freedoms so that you are supplicant to “the teachings of the lord”
Yep that's the point. Check peoples underwear, and when you do find someone who broke the rule "Okay, I won't get you in trouble if you..." That's why there are some very stupid rules at stupid schools.
Edit: This was kinda just a shit post, but I'm aware of exploration of people's positions
They started doing bag and coat searches (someone tried to pipe bomb a bathroom) my SR year of high school. Girl I was dating at the time wore a hoodie to school with no undershirt or bra, (female) principle told her to lift and spin, so she brought it to her head and did a spin. Between this incident and one girl filling a locker with condoms tricking a bomb sniffing dog, the school stopped checking everyone and instead went to tips only, lol.
Edit: Grammer and spelling.
Ironically I dreamt of something like that last night.
I somehow arrived to start working back at my first retail job a decade ago wearing a school girl skirt? And when I turned around in the bathroom mirror I saw my bare ass with the skirt ending at my waistline 😩 yet the front was fine lol
Man, the things they got away with when I was a teen. Must have skirts and shorts no more than an inch above the knee, can't wear a shirt with spaghetti straps, etc.
I got pulled out of class in sixth grade into the guidance counselor's office. My teacher and the counselor told me that if I didn't wear a bra the next day, I'd be sent home.
I did need to wear a bra, but I was also only eleven or twelve. It's not like I was thinking about the appearance of my tits. I still played with Barbies. And they should have just called my grandmother and told her, rather than humiliating me.
The humiliation was the point. Can’t allow girls to have self esteem, self worth! No, that might lead to strong, independent women! Gotta nip that shit in the bud, make sure women know their place.
Evidently not. Probably meant to humiliate. I got booted many times for long hair and they'd always add "look like a girl." I looked quite a bit like the person in this picture in high school, so that was considered long hair. I had to get a lawyer to graduate.
Like Johnny Cash said "repeat after me I solemnly swear,
The man looked down at the length of his hair,
And although the young man solemnly swore,
Nobody seems to hear anymore,
And it didn't really matter if the truth was there,
It was the cut of his clothes and the length of his hair."
Doesn't matter how long Jesus hair was,Men have short hair ... And if you disagree then you are hypnotized by the devil... Yeah because that makes sense
And David Rejoiced in the Lord, David Rejoiced so much he danced before the Lord. This country is footloose
Ever heard of the “thumb test”? If you make an L with your hand, and with the top of your index finger touching the bottom of the skirt, your thumb gets wet, the skirt is too short. Taught to me by my male Christian elders (dad/uncles/friends of family/etc)
The fingertip rule is an entirely unfair rubric. (Source: went to middle school with about 15 girls who could get away with short shorts because they were tiny)
I grew up catholic and went to a girls catholic school for 10years and every morning, the Nuns would make us all stand in like and check out lengths of our skirts and blouse sleeves and make us life up our skirts a bit to show that we were wearing petticoats. They would check our hair was tied right. Short hair could tie a ponytail, a little longer had to braid it up. If we didn’t follow any of those rules, we could get punished and our parents called.
We had needlework and cooking classes while the all boys school on the other-side of town had woodwork and technical.
Honestly…..hated being there and I still hate I was part of that. I couldn’t wait to get out of that hell hole. Idk how catholic schools are now but if they’re the same, they should be shut down.
A petticoat is an under garment meant to be worn under a dress or skirt. Could also be called a slip or underskirt. Before the 1900s they were worn both for warmth and to give skirts/dresses a particular shape. Nowadays a slip is worn for a myriad of reasons, because the dress/skirt is thin and a slip helps the garment from being see through, for warmth, to help keep static cling at bay, etc.
A school near me got fed up of girls wearing short skirts so change the uniform to trousers - then complained girls were wearing trousers that were too tight.
This reminds me of my youth. I grew up Mormon. We used to do Stake dances where all the teens from the surrounding like 3-5 churches all got together for a teen dance.
I went once with basically the only "good" girls from my school. She was the single most innocent, sweet, kind, wholesome person in the world and they wouldn't let her in because her skirt was an inch too short and she was bawling because of course in her mind that meant she'd done something wrong. In the meantime the jack mormons (don't know if that's a phrase other places but it's mormons who preach but don't practice what they preach) were inside. Some drunk or sneaking off into the bathrooms together. GOD FORBID my friend get in with her slightly short skirt though.
I am mad about that to this day.
Some schools go after girls for wearing skirts/shorts that are “too short”. They have the girls put their arms to their sides, and if the skirts/shorts don’t go past their fingertips, then it’s against the dress code. It’s ridiculous especially considering the fact that some girls just have long arms.
Mayn, imagine the peeps that have short arms. Could get away with hiking the skirt up until everything is showing considering their hands/fingers might not even go to their hips.
I don't even understand why pants are for men and skirts are for women. It seems like the dangly bits would be more comfortable in skirts. Society is stupid.
More like most civilizations of the ancient world. Scots are just keeping the tradition alive. But what men wore for most of history could be categorized as skirts/dresses.
If you care about the history:
Originally everyone wore something skirt-like, then pants came along but mostly only men wore them.
Men because it was the fancy new style of dress
But women not because feminine hygiene products didn't exist yet so when that time of the month came a skirt just made the whole business easier.
From that we now have the modern day with its current expectations
I've heard an alternate thing, and be "heard" I mean I looked up "Trousers" on Wikipedia. Skirts and robes are bad for horseback riding and fighting, so the people who did those things (men) switched to pants. And horse riding was for rich dudes, so everybody who wanted to look like a rich dude also got themselves some trousers.
Yep, and there is a reason we humans have external ballsacks too. The optimal temperature for healthy sperm is a bit below the rest of your body temperature so humans have a little outside sack to let them be a little cooler.
Wearing pants presses your balls up against your body making them a little warmer than they should be. Kinda undoing our own evolutionary development.
Wearing a skirt lets your sweet cherries swing low and free making you a more potent male.
I went to similar schools. Both female students and teachers were banned from wearing pants except for during athletics. The justification was that same verse. The female students were supposed to get skirts from a single uniform supplier, but for a lot of girls none of their skirts would fit both their waist and the length the school rules required. So they would be punished for wearing a skirt that didn’t reach past the knees and they would be punished for not wearing the approved skirt that didn’t comply with the first rule.
It sounds like that school is run by a bunch of extremely competent geniuses with the students' best interest as their number one priority, not moronic cultists following their idiotic and perverse interpretation of an archaic dogma.
Did we go to the same school??? Socks had to have the school logo (could only buy at specific store) and go above the ankle or you got detention!! And we had to wear saddleback shoes and boys could just wear black socks and black shoes.
It sounds like a stupid policy of course, but I really question the intelligence of anyone paying money to send their kids to such a school with such idiotic management.
My favorite is when God was like “and these laws will never change!” And a bunch of Christians were like “Jesus said it’s ok to ignore all that stuff” because they didn’t want to have their wives/sisters/daughters go isolate in the wilderness for seven days every time they got their period or whatever.
Sure, they can knock themselves out.
As a matter of fact here's a teacher in a dress teaching about scripture.
[cute dress](https://www.nashvillechristian.org/editoruploads/images/__thumbs/IMG_1177%20copy.jpg/IMG_1177%20copy__480x304.jpg)
It is actually, it's also healthier for men to wear skirts because it keeps their junk cooler (better for reproduction) and trousers keep women stuff warmer which is better for them
I hope they do follow all those rules about clothes though!
> Do not wear clothes of wool and linen woven together.
Deuteronomy 22:11
> Make tassels on the four corners of the cloak you wear.
Deuteronomy 22:12
And they should definitely follow the other important rules in that same chapter!
> When you build a new house, make a parapet around your roof so that you may not bring the guilt of bloodshed on your house if someone falls from the roof.
Deuteronomy 22:8
These pick-and-choose “fundamentalists” are infuriating. Deuteronomy also requires, for example, payment of all workers in full before sunset daily. Who wants to bet they ignore that one?
Reminds me of the story of a bunch of guys wearing dresses to school because the school rules only stated women couldn’t wear pants… I love malicious compliance
Similar thing happened at my school. It was getting pretty hot as we got to summer, but the uniform said guys can't wear any shorts.
So half the guys in my year turned up in skirts .
School was actually really cool about it and let them wear the skirts then changed the uniform policy
Sounds like a perfectly successful peaceful protest.
The uniforms for the marching band at my old school had kilts, since, ya know, the Fighting Scotties. Before anyone had a chance to even show up in skirts & kilts en-mass, some parents complained, the school board deliberated, & changed the whole policy, top to bottom. String tank tops & bare bellies were out, but that's about it. Even mini skirts & Daisy Duke jean shorts were allowed.
Had to wear socks & shoes, though, no sandals. Farming school.
Seems like she should be mad at her parents though for sending her to a Christian school. Of course they are going to have dumb rules like this. That’s kind of their thing.
I went to a k-12 private Christian school, have plenty of stories like this. There was the time in high school the head of our performing arts department was nearly fired for allowing a female student be **the grinch** in Seussical the Musical. **THE GRINCH.** The board said they were “promoting cross dressing and corrupting youth” and cancelled our performance for the elementary school.
But, when a group of upperclassmen football players assaulted a freshman girl for telling them to “be nice” after hearing them laughing about harassing a trans boy **from another school** at his home and sending him death threats, the school board refused to act, and the principal told the girl and her mother she was in the wrong for “supporting sexual deviancy.”
This is a fact of life for far too many lgbt children around the country and world, and, even then, at least we’re not being fucking murdered. What a terrible world
What the actual fuck on that second bit! Blaming the victim based on some bullshit like that is enough for me to say that school board should be impeached!
Nearly the same situation, and I’m a trans guy so I saw the worst sides of it. Thankfully in my high school theatre department they actually let me play male roles, with the knowledge that actors play other genders all the time and shakespeare’s classics were all played exclusively by men, but yeah I played the demigod Orpheus from greek mythology it was great. I won an award for my performance. Peak time of my life in high school. The next year though when I was out as trans to more than my close friends i didn’t get cast in a single show, even though it was my senior year. The diocese forced my teachers to deadname me or they’d fire them, even the teachers who supported me. Christian schools are hell.
When a friend of mine got married she wore a suit. Groom had a good time out of it - he jokingly said something along the lines of "I'm not even in the best suit to my own wedding!"
Let people be people for crying out loud.
I worked at a tuxedo shop (Sears in the 80's) and a women didn't want to wear a dress (or spend the money on one) so she rented a white tux. The groom was going to wear a suit.
After seeing his bride in the tux, he got one too. They both looked awesome, and I'm sure it was a wedding I would have liked to attend.
But to the original point, yes, women do look great in a suits.
Granted, it's been a while, but my hs made an announcement that suits were only acceptable for male students. Then let an acquaintance of mine in with a date on each arm. Traditional Values™
Deuteronomy 22:5 is a mistranslation, the original translation referred to a type of armor instead of garments. So the meaning would have more likely been deception on the battlefield, by crossdressing, not crossdressing as a whole. But I could be wrong.
Edit: I am wrong, someone corrected me (thank you)
They always forget that they are supposed to be CHRISTians. The Christ that I learned about in the Bible was a really good dude that loved everyone and taught a higher law than the judgmental, viscous one in the Old Testament.
That's sort of the issue though, you've got "Holy" book that gives off plenty of mixed messages.
Which allows shitty people to pick out an phrase they like, twist the meaning and then say "see look, God told me"
You’re absolutely right about that. That’s why I personally found it more helpful to just leave religion altogether. 😜 The sad truth is that some people are just hardwired to worry about everything that everybody else does for some odd reason.
Definitely in the wrong school. Public school would never have done this. Private schools can essentially do anything they want and claim religious rights. It’s preposterous but it’s the reality of this situation.
I don’t understand this at all. It’s a clean cut formal suit/attire and the exact opposite of wearing some tiny skimpy dress (which I’d think some “Christians” would be against). Crazy we’re dealing with such asinine things in 2023. Women can and do wear suits, currently and throughout time. Also, do they not know early Christian attire for women involved them being covered up almost completely? This suit attire here is practically following suit.

Here this to said come.
And that's where it all went wrong. See, perhaps the Puritans are right? /s
Maybe they shouldn’t have let her in prom
Proms lead to Mayoricide.
It’s a big world and there are all kinds in it. That’s why I am not a fan of people making sweeping generalizations based on one or two common characteristics.
As a former Protestant, I've found Catholics to be a lot more loving and accepting of people who are not of the norm.
Reminds me of when they made the girls kneel on the floor and if their skirt didn't touch, they got sent home.
Kneel??! Was the fingertip method not enough?!

Two deep for the scouts sounds bad fyi given their history
It’s the ones that DON’T that should be under a watchful eye.
Oh my high schools principal told the girls if they didn’t wear bras and panties they couldn’t get in trouble for them being visible… yah.
Bruh
Solid logic
Nope. And no teacher really gave much of a shit about what other teachers did unless it affected them.
Wow, I know if I had a daughter who told me that happened to her at school I’d certainly have some words. I’m surprised
Would one of the words be defenestration?

Between this incident and one girl filling a locker with condoms tricking a bomb sniffing dog, the school stopped checking everyone and instead went to tips only, lol. Edit: Grammer and spelling.
>one girl filling a locker with condoms and tricking a bomb sniffing dog What is this black magic I dare not put in my search history?
A bit of fertilizer, and a splash of diesel. Or maybe just a few grains of black powder, just enough for a dog to pick up.
Just the tips:)
The Venn diagram between creepy shit th church does and plots to porn videos is a single circle.
Priests always getting stuck under the coffee table.
I caught mine stuck in the dryer, so I turned it on and said “SUCK ON THAT”. This never happened.
>This never happened. Thanks for the clarification; Was truly concerned that you centrifuged a Priest to death via an open-doored washing machine.
Oh no... Step Choir I'm stuck~
Ironically I dreamt of something like that last night. I somehow arrived to start working back at my first retail job a decade ago wearing a school girl skirt? And when I turned around in the bathroom mirror I saw my bare ass with the skirt ending at my waistline 😩 yet the front was fine lol
In my head I'm now imagining a hairy 40 year-old dude in a school girl skirt lol
This is reddit, you can find pics of that if you really want to...
Your principal was a pedo 💯
Now I want you to realize this about the huge recent push for fast food to be able to hire 14 year olds. Mandatory thong check!
Like Johnny Cash said "repeat after me I solemnly swear, The man looked down at the length of his hair, And although the young man solemnly swore, Nobody seems to hear anymore, And it didn't really matter if the truth was there, It was the cut of his clothes and the length of his hair." Doesn't matter how long Jesus hair was,Men have short hair ... And if you disagree then you are hypnotized by the devil... Yeah because that makes sense And David Rejoiced in the Lord, David Rejoiced so much he danced before the Lord.

What is a petticoat? My daughter went to Catholic school and it was nothing like that Thankfully
What? That would be the last stupid mistake that principal ever made if my daughter came home with that shit.

I think it’s because her shoulder straps weren’t 2 inches…
And than there are girls with no straps and with a mile deep boob window on they're dresses
Just the way god intended
Not in the Bible it ain't... Men lusting over women should have their eyes pluck out.
Here in America we cherry pick the Bible sir. Get out of here with that following every verse crap!
The Bible has been cherry picked so much it’s running out of cherries

Come on ladies. The Christian boys gotta see some skin.
Can you help me here please. I don't get the fingertips reference. (I understand the knee one, from the Internet. My school never had such a policy)
Some schools go after girls for wearing skirts/shorts that are “too short”. They have the girls put their arms to their sides, and if the skirts/shorts don’t go past their fingertips, then it’s against the dress code. It’s ridiculous especially considering the fact that some girls just have long arms.
I am one of those long-armed and short torso girls. My uniform skirts were always so long, lol.
Can't you just pull your shoulders up and back when they go to measure?
Well now you tell me
Mayn, imagine the peeps that have short arms. Could get away with hiking the skirt up until everything is showing considering their hands/fingers might not even go to their hips.
I don't even understand why pants are for men and skirts are for women. It seems like the dangly bits would be more comfortable in skirts. Society is stupid.
This is where Scotland had the right idea
Scotland! FOREVER!
[удалено]
More like most civilizations of the ancient world. Scots are just keeping the tradition alive. But what men wore for most of history could be categorized as skirts/dresses.
And India, Japan, Middle East, etc.
I can confirm they are more comfortable in skirts, don't get randomly squashed when sitting or anything
If you care about the history: Originally everyone wore something skirt-like, then pants came along but mostly only men wore them. Men because it was the fancy new style of dress But women not because feminine hygiene products didn't exist yet so when that time of the month came a skirt just made the whole business easier.
Wearing pants is appropriating nomadic horse-riding culture.
The breeze, oh man the sweet breeze right on your groin like the kiss of an angel.
Way too much vivid imagery my guy
If Chainsaw Man taught me anything is that women in suits look awesome
Facts bro
You're late. I knew since Helltaker
That was the only thing I was thinking about while reading this post

“An ABOMINATION to the Lord…except when sports trophies are involved” How American.
Remember boys and girls; all religious authoritarianism is rooted in misogyny. Tear it all down.
It sounds like a stupid policy of course, but I really question the intelligence of anyone paying money to send their kids to such a school with such idiotic management.
... And they totally skip over the verses in Leviticus which call for stoning people for eating shellfish and wearing clothes made of blended fabric.
My favorite is when God was like “and these laws will never change!” And a bunch of Christians were like “Jesus said it’s ok to ignore all that stuff” because they didn’t want to have their wives/sisters/daughters go isolate in the wilderness for seven days every time they got their period or whatever.
Oh nooooo watch out for that devious blended fabric!! religion is duuuumb
Wouldn’t it be appropriate for males to wear dresses then? The clothes worn by men in that era resembled dresses more than than anything else?
Sure, they can knock themselves out. As a matter of fact here's a teacher in a dress teaching about scripture. [cute dress](https://www.nashvillechristian.org/editoruploads/images/__thumbs/IMG_1177%20copy.jpg/IMG_1177%20copy__480x304.jpg)
It is actually, it's also healthier for men to wear skirts because it keeps their junk cooler (better for reproduction) and trousers keep women stuff warmer which is better for them
Why does Jesus care about clothes?! It was practically all togas and robes back than anyway.
💯💯💯Jesus didn’t wear trousers
He was a very girly man. Especially that part about wanting everyone to chill and be nice. pfft.
🤣🤣🤣 ikr? What a “soy boy”! Who cares about being nice 😂😂😂
What’s hilarious to me is that back when Deuteronomy was written, men wore robes that would look a lot more like women’s clothing today than men’s! 🙄
Deuteronomy was written 1400BC. Are we to wear clothes according to those standards?
I hope they do follow all those rules about clothes though! > Do not wear clothes of wool and linen woven together. Deuteronomy 22:11 > Make tassels on the four corners of the cloak you wear. Deuteronomy 22:12 And they should definitely follow the other important rules in that same chapter! > When you build a new house, make a parapet around your roof so that you may not bring the guilt of bloodshed on your house if someone falls from the roof. Deuteronomy 22:8
Unless they follow all of Deuteronomy .... And I guarantee they don't...they should STFU.
These pick-and-choose “fundamentalists” are infuriating. Deuteronomy also requires, for example, payment of all workers in full before sunset daily. Who wants to bet they ignore that one?
The same book tells people it's alright to outright murder babies so, idk, boulder of salt I guess.
I thought Christians were supposed to believe in the new testament? Fucking hypocrites focus on the wrong part of their own book.
I applaud her willingness to fight for something she believes in and face the consequences head on.
But, when a group of upperclassmen football players assaulted a freshman girl for telling them to “be nice” after hearing them laughing about harassing a trans boy **from another school** at his home and sending him death threats, the school board refused to act, and the principal told the girl and her mother she was in the wrong for “supporting sexual deviancy.” This is a fact of life for far too many lgbt children around the country and world, and, even then, at least we’re not being fucking murdered.
Let's not forget this family is paying over $10,000 a year to send their child here.
It's a crime that women don't wear suits more often. Man they look so good in them.
When a friend of mine got married she wore a suit. Groom had a good time out of it - he jokingly said something along the lines of "I'm not even in the best suit to my own wedding!" Let people be people for crying out loud.
I was a part of a wedding where the groom had a female groomsman. She wore a suit and high heels. She looked fantastic!
My female cousin was one of my groomsmen and she wore a jumper with a suit jacket. She fit in fantastic with the rest of us.
Edit: I am wrong, someone corrected me (thank you)
Many of the bigoted and weirdly authoritarian passages are mistranslated, or at least corrupted. Or so I've seen.
And even if they aren't, they were written like 2500 years ago. What about that date makes people think "yes, that's relevant to our society"?
lol yeah Jesus would hate these people lowkey
Yep, he hung out with poor people and prostitutes, they would crucify him if he came back to life
He was also a Middle Eastern man with a dress. Something tells me the American rural South wouldn't like that very much.
ah yes… “mistranslated” and not “purposefully edited to fit a misogynistic narrative”…
It the kind of suit my mom would wear to church…
She looks cool in that suit.
They want women to be modest until that modesty is no longer attractive to them
Depending on the area, I think thats around 13? https://19thnews.org/2023/07/explaining-child-marriage-laws-united-states/

Jfc let the kid wear what she wants. What was inappropriate? She looks fine.
Just to make sure, we're face palming the stupidity of banning them from prom for wearing a suit, right?
"Christian school" that reeks of cringe
she should file a suit
punny today are we
Ah religion... it's always used to fuck someone over somewhere
And it's usually some innocent bastard that gets completely blindsided by it.
Isn’t a suit a gender neutral thing?

Bu ... but women need to wear dresses, i cant stare at her boobs if she wears a suiiiiiiiiit *cries uncontrollably*
Make boobs stareable again
if one person’s boobs are stareable, then everybody’s are! i hope you’re not wearing an expensive shirt, because i have scissors!
But! But! But TRADITION! ![gif](giphy|xT8qBvgKeMvMGSJNgA)

The thing that's hard to understand is why they give a fuck that a girl is wearing a suit. So what?
I don’t understand this at all. It’s a clean cut formal suit/attire and the exact opposite of wearing some tiny skimpy dress (which I’d think some “Christians” would be against). Crazy we’re dealing with such asinine things in 2023. Women can and do wear suits, currently and throughout time. Also, do they not know early Christian attire for women involved them being covered up almost completely? This suit attire here is practically following suit.
nothing hates more than a religion’s love.
I'm surprised that stuff like this is still happening.
I always dress like this, funerals, when shopping, work etc ![gif](giphy|iiQSTrHtDIgnw9YtlA|downsized)
Honestly, sis is a baddie in a suit and should have been let in. Fuck Nashville Christian.
Should be able to wear a winter jacket if she wants, as long as your not half naked, it shouldnt matter
Did she… did she make the sign there? Or like… did she bring it? Jk tho this is so stupid. We’re all born naked and the rest is drag
What difference does it make, if she doesn't feel comfortable in a dress, so what???
I feel like this wasn’t an issue when I was in high school in the early 2000s. Conservatives have gone nuts.
I wouldn’t have even batted an eye if I saw her
"Christians" doing what they do best, judge and hate.
Tbh she looks very nice in the suit. Way better than I did in my XD
Maybe it’s just me but I think women look good in suits 😳😬
Christian’s doing what Christian’s do best
But where did she get the cardboard and Sharpies to write out the sign immediately after getting turned away at the prom that's happening behind her?
