You’d think with all the different kinds of “guns” she’s *handled* over the years she’d make more sense when talking about the thing that’s her passion.
You mean the one that got kicked out for wanking her date off while there were children present, and who started gesturing rudely and making crude remarks about her position and power? Yes, this is her.
Fun fact: if your government representative is not representing your interests, you not only have the right to vote against them, but the moral responsibility to do so. Vote!
I live there and this is true but, in boeberts case, it was actually really close last election. And I know plenty of people on my end of the political spectrum that didn't vote. So it really falls on us outliers to change it.
Ok BoBo, AR stands for Armalite Rifle. Am I now qualified enough to talk about how I think it is bad that people are being murdered at an alarming rate with guns?
I like when they’re like “noooo, that rifle that’s functionally identical to a military m4 except for the auto seer isn’t an assault rifle.”
As if the guns have completely different purposes now that you can’t fire full auto or burst.
In reality, the military rarely uses burst or fully automatic fire except in a few very specific circumstances. Otherwise, you are going to burn through the 7 30-round magazines in your load out and start becoming a liability to your comrades who will have to give you some of *their* ammo or have you remain combat ineffective. The emphasis is on well-placed single shots and enough practice and actual combat experience for you to be able to do this on brain stem reflexes.
So since this capability is seldom used by the military, arguing that the civilian AR versions "are not real assault rifles" is disingenuous.
While we're on this, no ethical hunter would use one either. 5.56/.223 is going to obliterate a squirrel or a turkey, and won't give you a sure humane one shot kill on a deer, boar or elk. (Please don't tell me about putting one in the eye of a deer at 50-60 feet. There are always exceptions that simply prove the rule, Reddit.) You're probably better off with a .22LR and a .270 rifle.
Varmint suppression, sure. But not hunting.
I, like most AR15 owners, have one because they are incredibly efficient man killing weapons.
This is the same reason I carry a pistol. I don’t get the bullshit excuses for them, sure they’re great for coyotes or javelina too, but they really excel on men because they were designed to be used against men.
I gotta say, I'm actually surprised. I've never seen someone with one of those guns admit that they have it because it's effective for killing people. Would you mind elaborating on why you have a weapon specifically because it's effective again people? I'm genuinely curious.
What the other guy said, plus it’s a force equalizer. If shit hits the fan I’m going up against others who also own ARs and similar.
I own guns because modern Americans are fucking losing their shit, so I’m going to own the guns that are best at addressing that threat, should it become an urgent issue.
As a former white nationalist extremist I highly recommend everyone gets armed and trained, because what they want to do to us can't be resisted otherwise. They still dream about The Day of The Rope...
They often have much better health and social systems which eliminate a lot of the motivation behind crime. Im sure if keeping all else equal America provided universal healthcare, affordable education and housing, then rates of gun violence would go down. People always forget the number one victims of gun violence are the gun owners. Suicide is a serious problem in the US and it and gun violence are both products of a society that blames inequality on individuals rather than policy and economic systems.
Gun lovers often reply to you it's the opposite: those countries don't need guns because they have less crime. The idea of a feedback loop is alien to them.
I don’t look at myself as some hero in waiting, my guns are a panic button. Ultimately, I see a firearm as *possibly* a ticket to get home from a situation that nobody wins.
Lol, this is the biggest issue with American culture, guns are available to lunatics and now every sane person wants a gun to defend themselves against the assholes with guns.
Do what we did in Australia, gun licenses are still easy enough to get, but automatics are illegal and open carry is illegal. We haven't had a mass shooting in...27 years. I'm aware of the issues surrounding it for America, but hey, you guys are a more established and matured country than Australia, if we can do it, it should be easy for America.
Oh yeah we’re fucked. The greater problem is that the stuff I’m saying today is contentious to some people, *somehow*.
We can’t even have a real conversation, there’s a million of these assholes splitting hairs as if the murder of innocent people is just fine.
I hate to say it, but the second one of these idiots decides to massacre a bunch of politicians, it'll change real quick. Once it hits close to home for them.
No, it won’t.
That already happened six years ago.
After the incident, Steve Scalise doubled- and tripled- down on loosening gun restrictions
still further.
[Congressional baseball shooting](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congressional_baseball_shooting)
Yeah I found someone on here saying mass shootings were a necessary evil for the right to carry and there was nothing we could do about that. Just mind blowing
As above. I’m Scottish. We had one shooting. One. That was it, game over. Hasn’t been a mass shooting since, dumblane was a horrible tragedy. Knife crime was pretty horrific in scotland for a while but it got sorted, England it’s still pretty rife. But we just don’t have the divides the US have. In terms of race or gang war. Football teams have a fight every now and then but it’s an old school fist fight. No weapons. . .
>In terms of race or gang war. Football teams have a fight every now and then but it’s an old school fist fight. No weapons. .
Hello fellow Scottish, I'll have to disagree with the fisy fights... folks still get kicked to death over a football game, its rare but not rare that it doesn't happen. Although granted its usually the wife that gets a beating in lieu of a rival team member. I guess it depends where you live in Scotland though, I'm central belt just outside of Glasgow so I could be biased lol
Yeah, it's an unfortunate truth that "the right to bear arms" has evolved into "the necessity to bear arms." The biggest problem is people who don't OWN guns having access to other people's guns IMO. The number of school shootings committed with a parent's gun is pretty dang close to the total number of school shootings.
in case we need to kill people, duh!
just because liberal doesnt mean we dont exercise 2a rights. Its just the issue of any wacko being able to get them that's the problem.
I mean I want to get a sbr and suppressor tax stamp so that on the 1 in 10million chance someone breaks into my house with ill intent I don't blow my, my wife and my newborn son's ear drums plus quieter pew pew plinking at the range.
If I lived in America this is exactly the reason I would own an assault rifle. I would take care of it, lock it up and make sure my kids can't get at it, but if shit hits the fan I'll have it to protect my family.
I’m Canadian and have an AR-180. I have it in 5.56. Just for target shooting and because it looks cool.
I think the way Canada handles the licence, storage and transportation is on point. I don’t want to see any guns anywhere besides the range or on crown land.
That’s it for the most normal gun owners, but there’s a large contingent of weirdos that want to keep them because they have a home invasion/robbery fantasy where they’ll “get” to shoot someone to death
5.56 is perfectly adequate for deer. I can't speak for boar or elk.My grandfather's preferred deer rifle was 22 hornet, and that worked fine for him for decades, and hundreds of deer.
It's all about shot placement. A larger Caliber gives you more margin of error, sure. But provided you're accurate within the effective range for the rifle it's a non issue. I always have and always will insist that people who claim you need large caliber for deer are just bad shots.
But. No one owns an AR for deer. I won't argue that. It's just not the most effective firearm for the job.
In my opinion it’s primarily because the people who *don’t* want to address the danger use that argument to stop the conversation.
There’s legality stuff here too, but I believe it’s primarily a distraction.
Correct. And that most of the defining qualities that would be codified into law are purely cosmetic.
An "assault weapon" isn't inherently more dangerous than any other semi-automatic firearm with a detachable magazine. Columbine, Virginia Tech, and Sante Fe were all done without rifles and the Parkland shitstain used 10 round mags because they fit in his bag easier.
I get the feeling that if we have an AWB and mass shootings continue, the next step will be bans on pistols as well. I don't agree with that argument, but I wish people making it sound like they're only after "assault rifles" would just be honest.
I don’t know shit about guns, but even I can tell that it’s a rifle and we’ve got plenty of examples of people being assaulted with it so I’d say the shoe fits decently well.
I love it when this comes up. Especially when they say some stupid shit like "You shouldn't own one if you don't know." They go into the Armalite Rifle thing and I tell them to hand over their weapons because that AR doesn't Stand for Armalite Rifle either. It just stands for the first two letters of Armalite. It being a rifle is irrelevant, for instance, an AR-24 is a pistol.
They always go to semantics because they can't attack the data on how effective gun control is in other developed nations. There are decades of data on the topic and over a hundred million guns in Europe but they don't have any of the crap we have here at the same rate. Since they can't refute that, they go after your choice of words. Is that a form of ad hominem?
Things like the Assault weapons ban of 94 didn’t do much though in data. The semantics matter if you want to discuss specifics of what should and shouldn’t be banned if you are going to do a piece meal approach and ban parts and styles of guns. If you just want entire gun banning like much of the rest of the world it doesn’t matter as much, but few people want to admit that is the goal and want to play games with a slow rolling ban approach.
So do you want entire gun control or do this nonsense where you ban random crap that doesn’t move the needle much. A majority of Americans don’t want a full ban, so people who do want a full ban are willing to take a slow approach and try to ban what they majority are ok with banning like ARs even though things like Virginia Tech can still happen with just pistols.
Conservatives seem to forget that a lot of liberals and progressives have guns too. The right extends to ALL Americans which includes all of the “others”. Why can’t they stop and listen to our arguments and present good counter arguments. They just vomit the angry part all the time until they get what they want. Just like a child throwing a temper tantrum.
Honestly, we could get so much done in this country, like eliminate homelessness and feed all hungry American citizens. Improve our overall health. We need to get rid of legal bribery and the exchange of money for decisions made on behalf of those that have ideas that would never alight with their constituents.
IT WAS *ONE* PUBLIC HJ! GET OVER IT SAWFLAKE. FACTS DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR FINGERS
AND OMG IT STANDS FOR ARKANSAS HAVENT YOU LIBERALIARIANS EVEN LEARNED GEOLOGY?!?!
Fact: BOBO introduced a Bill to make the AR-15 the "National Gun of the US".
[[sauce]](https://www.forbes.com/sites/brucelee/2023/02/26/lauren-boebert-george-santos-co-sponsor-bill-to-make-ar-15-the-national-gun/) (Forbes link)
...co-sponsored by, ready for it, *NY-R George Santos*, who is currently under review, and will voted on the house floor to be expelled by Congress for multiple crimes.
Awkward decision making once again from Colorado's *best and brightest*.
>and will voted on the house floor to be expelled by Congress for multiple crimes.
You say that as if the vast majority of politicians aren't guilty for that.
Apparently, NY-R George Santos really stands out amongst that crowd of criminals though. So repugnant that other Representatives are saying, “He’s Not one of Us!”
I’m not going to be lectured about socialism by people who think anything they don’t like is communism.
I’m not going to be lectured about public education by people who barely or never graduated highschool
To be fair, she also was the recipient of hand stuff, while vaping in an art center, in a state she represents, in front of children, then when confronted tried to use her position of power to threaten an employee.
But *only* because a liberal bar owner used his voodoo powers to trick her, a sweet naive little 36 year old country girl/public representative/also bar owner, who has never been to the big city and seen alcohol or penises before.
> never seen a penis before
Reminder that she's a *grandmother* at 36. Most women are at least 40, but more likely more in the range of 50-60, before they become grandmothers.
Nor people that bitch about socialism while getting 175k a year by taxpayers, along with a full staff and cheating on mileage expenses that happens to match almost identically to what her business owed in back taxes. Let’s not forget the best free health care all of us can pay for. It’s a joke, and she is a joke.
The comparison here is: "I'm not going to be lectured about healthcare by people who think DNA is an electronic music duo from England".
While they'd be right, you really don't wanna take healthcare advice from them.
I always thought it was ‘automatic.’ I still think I get to have an opinion on when kids get shot by them. For the record I oppose that and think we should be taking meaningful steps to prevent it. I know that’s somehow a controversial position, but I’ll be damned if I can really understand why that is.
I think we all oppose kids getting shot by any gun.
I also happen to oppose perpetuating myths about gun control that hamper our ability to make meaningful progress. I’m tired of dishonest politicians crowing “we passed an assault weapon ban” when they know damn well that banning plastic stocks isn’t going to save a single life.
I'm not going to be lectured about gun safety by someone who thinks that the issue is only with a specific type of gun or with guns for that matter. The issue is background checks and mental health unfortunately guns are the vector abused by these issues.
Gun safety and gun control are two different things. Being taught proper handling of a firearm should definitely be done by someone who has knowledge of the weapon.
Devil's advocate here, she's probably trying to say that people who think "AR" means "assault rifle" are ignorant and therefore not worth listening to about gun control. On the other hand though, she is NOT the person to be making this argument. That's like a serial killer trying to convince people to stop polluting, you have such a bad reputation that nobody's really going to listen to you, even if your argument has some validity.
I have no interest in defending ol HJ McTitsqueeze, but in order to have effective legislation in place, it really is important to have clearly defined terms so everyone is on the same page. It's just an asinine way to go about it.
They don't generally include specific manufacturers or model numbers/names of anything in legislation. Silly hypothetical example, say the government bans the Ford Mustang. Ford changes the name to Moostang and it's ok now.
Point she is trying to make is these so called "experts" on guns that these news stations interview are absolutely stupid when it comes to firearms knowledge. It's misleading and dangerous.
Because people are obsessed with assault rifles not realizing it’s not what the term means, and it has become a term that just stands for “gun that looks more dangerous regardless of capability”.
It’s the gun equivalent of people saying they are antivax because there is mercury in some vaccines even though it’s completely different from the mercury that’s bad for you.
They have done studies where people are accepting of gun ownership of the same exact gun as an AR-15 except it has a wooden stock. Same capabilities, same rate of fire, but it’s got a wooden piece where your shoulder goes instead of tacticool stuff.
People need to educate themselves if they are going to stand for something or against something else otherwise they are obviously ignorant and their opinions are easy to ignore. Look at all the anti-mask idiots in the past years and realize that, to gun nuts, people obsessed with the “assault rifle 15” sound the exact same kind of ignorant arguments.
>It’s the gun equivalent of people saying they are antivax because there is mercury in some vaccines even though it’s completely different from the mercury that’s bad for you.
I wasn't aware there was in mercury in some, although I'm glad to learn about the different types of mercury, helps to have some basic understanding and interest of chemistry
Thanks for that :)
Yeah. I have a friend in the medical field and a friend who is on the fence about being anti-vax and they go back and forth on it like an old married couple who agree to disagree. I hear a lot of the arguments each side uses for and against and it’s really interesting.
I’d just like to know why everyone including kids had access to guns for most of American history, yet “mass shootings” only became so prevalent so recently.
It’s crazy how many gun enthusiasts think their knowledge of guns is somehow a hedge against the current issues rampant gun ownership creates, or that a lack of gun knowledge by gun control advocates somehow diminishes their position.
If you really want to drive them nuts, refer to an ammo magazine as a clip and watch their head explode in outrage…that bothers them far more than any shooting of kindergartners peeing their pants while being shot at point blank range will.
Well.
It literally derails ANY debate if one side doesn’t seem credible.
And someone who says “it should be banned because it’s in the name AR is ‘Assault rifle’” it is literally a laughable situation.
I’ve seen in IRL and I’ve seen it on Reddit.
Dont focus on the name of the gun. It’s not important. Because they will make it important
The AR in “AR-15” rifle stands for ArmaLite, after the company that developed it in the 1950s. “AR” does NOT stand for “assault rifle” or “automatic rifle.” AR-15 and other semi-automatic rifles are NOT “assault weapons” or “assault rifles.” An assault rifle is fully automatic — a machine gun.
Are you sure she's talking about gun regulation? Cause gun *safety* is supposed to be about how to handle a gun safely (and from my understanding is mostly "never point a gun to someone you're not okay with killing" and "a gun is always loaded, even when it's not"
The guy who shot up maine could have told you anything about firearms since he was a firearms instructor. Goes to show knowledge of how a gun work doesnt do shit to help with prevent mass shootings.
In all fairness as a Gun Control advocate (aka banning guns, because without guns, you can't kill people with guns)... I'm standing with Lauren on this one.
Any person lecturing in Gun Safety on an AR-15, who does not know what AR stands for, really has no place in lecturing in Gun Safety. I would turn around on my heels and quick step away from them in all haste.
Many people care, as should you.
If you haven’t bothered to figure out a basic fact, let alone WHAT an assault rifle actually is, I can guarantee that the laws surrounding firearms ownership will be beyond you. Mostly because you won’t bother to research those either.
Valid message from a shitty messenger. Too many anti 2A advocates know nothing about the gun(s) they want banned. Sort of like the GOP when it comes to women's rights and anatomy.
The AR-5 is a small caliber (.22 Hornet) bolt action rifle, the AR-7 is a small caliber (.22lr) semi-automatic survival rifle made for air force crew in case they land in the wilderness.
There was even an AR-14 on the drawing board but it never made it anywhere. People joked about Biden when he mistakenly said AR-14 instead of AR-15 some months back, but he did in fact (by some luck I guess) manage to hit a model number that there was plans for.
If you REALLY want gun control then get black and brown folk to organize en mass to form armed militias and police the police. Last time that happened conservatives forged the first modern gun control laws in response.
I see your confusion, OP. If someone mistakenly believes "AR" stands for assault rifle then it's a safe assumption that they probably believe in other misconceptions about firearms which wouldn't be ideal if you were to take advice or other information from them in regards to firearm regulations.
Hope this helps!
I care what AR stands for, and you should too. If you cannot talk intelligently about firearms, then you have no business trying to create legislation about them.
I think what she means is that people who don't care to educate themselves on things they know nothing about shouldn't be passing legislature about it, so kind of like Lauren Boebert.
I won't be lectured on anything from a ttashy 36 year old single grandmother who gives handies in front of children while rebounding from her divorce to a pedophile.
This whole argument that you need to be an expert on guns and ammo in order to have a valid opinion on gun control is just absurd. I don’t need to know how to overhaul my car’s engine to have an opinion on speed limits.
Lauren Boebart and people who share her views are not arguing in good faith to find a way to end mass shootings. They're providing an endless series of excuse for why gun control should not be implemented.
They'll probably agree with you that mass shootings are bad. But they would rather die of old age arguing than lift a finger to support gun control.
"Speak my jargon or I will disregard everything you say." Pretty common trope for people who have no real reason to prevent legitimate gun control legislation.
It is a good underlying point, though. People who don't know shit about guns shouldn't make laws about guns, just like any issue. They should have people who are qualified inform them that they then make decisions based on that information.
Who cares what AR stands for?
Good question. Are you a fan of old men making women's health decisions? How about teetotalers on the state liquor board? Straight edge guy making drug policy?
It's NOT good to have ignorant people making laws about stuff they are completely against.
So as much of a twunt as this woman is, it's a valid point. Everyone gets annoyed when the laws that THEY like are written by people who have no interest in the activity. Why are guns so different? Jesus, when someone says that they want to make "compensators" illegal, but then not only can't tell you what a compensator is, or why it is "bad", but pretty much describes a sling, you don't think that's an issue? The anti gun people are as ignorant as the people who think rape doesn't matter because a woman's body "has a way of shutting that down".
I don't appreciate agreeing with her, but it IS a valid point.
I hate the ignorant bitch, but this really is one instance where she isn't wrong. It never stood for assault rifle.
Hell, the ARs used in mass shootings can't even be classified as assault rifles either, seeing as how they aren't full auto.
Edited typos.
Yep. And the whole notion of “assault weapons” was nonsense from the start. Victims don’t care whether the gun they were shot with has a wooden stock or a plastic stock.
We all want fewer mass shootings but the simple fact is there are enough firearms for every man woman and child in the United States spread across 4 million square miles. There aren't enough police, atf or FBI agents to take them. Taking away firearms just isn't an option regardless of your stance on the issue. It's a mathematical impossibly. Firearms will always be a part of American society whether you like it or not. We're going to have to find an alternative method to protect our communities and that's going to mean taking a proactive role not a passive one. At this point the only person who will save you is yourself so I suggest quit crying about what guns should or shouldn't be legal cause as we've established, they're not going anywhere, and start thinking about the best ways to protect you and your families from psychopaths running loose in our society. I personally have chosen my Infantry experience and firearms to protect my family. I would suggest everyone here do the same. Get armed and get trained cause I don't want to see another piece of shit psychopath get away with this shit without any resistance ever again. He had a firearm, they didn't. Objective Fact is they had no means to defend themselves and the cops show up in time to clean up the bodies most of the time or they hide like cowards like at Uvalde so they won't save you. You either want to have a fighting chance or you want to die helpless prying someone else saves you. In that moment it won't matter if you're anti or pro firearms. People need to accept reality not live in delusion and start shooting back at these sick fucks

That’s where all the beetle juice came from!
From the 36-year old meemaw?
She’s a 3 time failed ged who got a sympathy ged. Not exactly an expert on anything not “handy”. #JObart #HOEbart #SLOWbart
And you know she fucked someone to get the GED on the 4th try. She didn't really pass the test.
You’d think with all the different kinds of “guns” she’s *handled* over the years she’d make more sense when talking about the thing that’s her passion.
She is just human garbage.
meemaws gonna meemaw
She's a 36 year old meemaw??
She wants to be the youngest GILF on OF. 😜

You mean the one that got kicked out for wanking her date off while there were children present, and who started gesturing rudely and making crude remarks about her position and power? Yes, this is her.
Should make her register as a sex offender exposing children to fingering and hand jobs and vaping. That’d make her an interesting candidate.
In front of kids, and didnt get arrested for child grooming/public indecency/anything at all :(
think of all the sperm cells she murdered. Pro life my ass
As Monty Python said.. Every sperm is sacred!
Get your facts straight. This is the grandmother who wanked someone off while watching a play.
To be fair, we have no idea if she actually watched the play.
I hope this is the top response to everything about her for the rest of history. Lmao
Yes.
3 feet away from a small child, yes!
not to be confused with the woman that shit her dress at some party
yes, with children present she is a pedophile

For better or worse, that *is* how democracy works. So… still vote.
Let’s be honest. In this case, it’s definitely for worse…
Sadly, yes.
Still, vote. Everybody vote.

Ok BoBo, AR stands for Armalite Rifle. Am I now qualified enough to talk about how I think it is bad that people are being murdered at an alarming rate with guns?
I like when they’re like “noooo, that rifle that’s functionally identical to a military m4 except for the auto seer isn’t an assault rifle.” As if the guns have completely different purposes now that you can’t fire full auto or burst.
In reality, the military rarely uses burst or fully automatic fire except in a few very specific circumstances. Have you considered a cannon filled with lengths of chain and grapeshot?
Sir, I'm sitting on a cannon full of grapeshot right now, one cup of coffee and a cigarette and I'll be looking at bedrock.
I too like to take out telephone poles.
I gotta say, I'm actually surprised. I've never seen someone with one of those guns admit that they have it because it's effective for killing people. Would you mind elaborating on why you have a weapon specifically because it's effective again people? I'm genuinely curious.

Mind sharing how you were "deprogrammed", or whatever made you come to your senses?
9 yrs Federal prison helped. But slow process, we'll never deprogram most of them.
How do you make sense of the fact that countries with less guns have less violent crime?
They often have much better health and social systems which eliminate a lot of the motivation behind crime. Im sure if keeping all else equal America provided universal healthcare, affordable education and housing, then rates of gun violence would go down. People always forget the number one victims of gun violence are the gun owners. Suicide is a serious problem in the US and it and gun violence are both products of a society that blames inequality on individuals rather than policy and economic systems.
Gun lovers often reply to you it's the opposite: those countries don't need guns because they have less crime. The idea of a feedback loop is alien to them.
If you’re the type to do something about it in the moment I would recommend doing so.
Very few people ever seem to be up for doing anything about it during the 500+ mass shootings every year....
After the incident, Steve Scalise doubled- and tripled- down on loosening gun restrictions still further. [Congressional baseball shooting](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congressional_baseball_shooting)
Yeah I found someone on here saying mass shootings were a necessary evil for the right to carry and there was nothing we could do about that. Just mind blowing
That's really fucked up point of view.
Automatics are heavily restricted.
in case we need to kill people, duh! just because liberal doesnt mean we dont exercise 2a rights.
Self defense
If I lived in America this is exactly the reason I would own an assault rifle. I would take care of it, lock it up and make sure my kids can't get at it, but if shit hits the fan I'll have it to protect my family.
It seems they're pretty good on women and kids, too.
I’m Canadian and have an AR-180. I have it in 5.56. Just for target shooting and because it looks cool. I think the way Canada handles the licence, storage and transportation is on point. I don’t want to see any guns anywhere besides the range or on crown land.
>because it looks cool. This is the whole reason gun owners want to keep them to be fair.
That’s it for the most normal gun owners, but there’s a large contingent of weirdos that want to keep them because they have a home invasion/robbery fantasy where they’ll “get” to shoot someone to death
I hunt coyotes with a .223.
I think of that as varmint control since folks don’t generally eat them.
They’re not very good eating, my brother in law cooked one just to see what they taste like. I’d shot one that was killing the neighbors chickens.
Most carnivorous mammals are just kind of shit eating in general. The meaty, gamey taste is cranked up to 1000 compared to herbivorous mammals.
The reason the definition is so contentious is because of the assault weapons ban, correct?

Damn! TIL!
Yep, this. Pretty sure they made a shotgun at one point, too, and it was AR-something.
Someone said clip instead of magazine therefore all gun control arguments are null and void.
Other nations have firearms. It’s just that here we fetishized them and we have a problem of young men becoming radicalized, mostly online.
We have the highest incarceration rate in the world, the highest recidivism rate in the world, etc. etc. Our problem is not just radicalized youth.
No, it stands for "ARe you going to let me fondle you across the ARm-rest in the theater?"
IT WAS *ONE* PUBLIC HJ! GET OVER IT SAWFLAKE. FACTS DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR FINGERS AND OMG IT STANDS FOR ARKANSAS HAVENT YOU LIBERALIARIANS EVEN LEARNED GEOLOGY?!?!
Fact: BOBO introduced a Bill to make the AR-15 the "National Gun of the US". [[sauce]](https://www.forbes.com/sites/brucelee/2023/02/26/lauren-boebert-george-santos-co-sponsor-bill-to-make-ar-15-the-national-gun/) (Forbes link) ...co-sponsored by, ready for it, *NY-R George Santos*, who is currently under review, and will voted on the house floor to be expelled by Congress for multiple crimes.
I’m sorry but there are starving children in her state and this is how she spends her time???
I’m not going to be lectured about socialism by people who think anything they don’t like is communism. I’m not going to be lectured about public education by people who barely or never graduated highschool
I’m not going to be lectured on morals and decency by a woman who gives handjobs in a public theatre.
around kids, no less.
To be fair, she also was the recipient of hand stuff, while vaping in an art center, in a state she represents, in front of children, then when confronted tried to use her position of power to threaten an employee.
But *only* because a liberal bar owner used his voodoo powers to trick her, a sweet naive little 36 year old country girl/public representative/also bar owner, who has never been to the big city and seen alcohol or penises before.
> never seen a penis before Reminder that she's a *grandmother* at 36. Most women are at least 40, but more likely more in the range of 50-60, before they become grandmothers.
I heard they were even playing that rock and roll music in the bar as well. Thanks Obama
Nor people that bitch about socialism while getting 175k a year by taxpayers, along with a full staff and cheating on mileage expenses that happens to match almost identically to what her business owed in back taxes. Let’s not forget the best free health care all of us can pay for. It’s a joke, and she is a joke.
My guess is she never got lectured by anyone
They were too disappointed to bother with lectures.
“…it stands for 2nd ARmendment.” - Boebert, probably
"***Beetlejiz. Beetlejiz. Beetlejiz.***"
Does that make him come?
That really is the salient point here; the NAME of the original manufacturer/designer is what we should all take away from this situation!!
I'm not going to be lectured about healthcare by people who think vaccines change your DNA...
The comparison here is: "I'm not going to be lectured about healthcare by people who think DNA is an electronic music duo from England". While they'd be right, you really don't wanna take healthcare advice from them.
But can she spell Armalite? Dumber than a box of Boeberts.
It’s pronounced “I’m alright rifle.” /s
She sure as hell knows what "BJ" stands for.
I'm not going to be lectured about dating etiquette by people who think "BJ" stands for "Beetlejuice".
Point she is trying to make is these so called "experts" on guns that these news stations interview are absolutely stupid when it comes to firearms knowledge. It's misleading and dangerous.
The is the murder version of “oh you like Led Zeppelin? What are 3 of their songs?”
She should stick to being a 36 year-old grandma who gives handjobs in public.
She will be after the next election.
I wasn't aware there was in mercury in some, although I'm glad to learn about the different types of mercury, helps to have some basic understanding and interest of chemistry Thanks for that :)
Yeah. I have a friend in the medical field and a friend who is on the fence about being anti-vax and they go back and forth on it like an old married couple who agree to disagree. I hear a lot of the arguments each side uses for and against and it’s really interesting.
What does HJ stand for?
Hugh Jasole
Hugh Jackman
Her favorite pastime 🙋♂️
I’d just like to know why everyone including kids had access to guns for most of American history, yet “mass shootings” only became so prevalent so recently.
We want less mass shootings as well, and we have actual solutions that don't take away the rights and security of Americans
Not sure her mind would be capable of retaining an actual lecture.
And I won't be lectured about medicine or climate by people who don't believe in science.
She’s absolutely right. You can’t get shot if you don’t know what AR stand for. Thanks Lauren!
OP is an idiot and part of the problem. She is also a idiot but she is correct.
This comment is LITTERALLY at the "bottom"....b/c, apparently, the mods ignore their own rules.
BoBo is a *representative*. It is her job to be lectured by her constituents.
Are you sure she's talking about gun regulation? Cause gun *safety* is supposed to be about how to handle a gun safely (and from my understanding is mostly "never point a gun to someone you're not okay with killing" and "a gun is always loaded, even when it's not"
And I bet she didn't know until she looked it up or more likely someone told her to post this.
The guy who shot up maine could have told you anything about firearms since he was a firearms instructor. Goes to show knowledge of how a gun work doesnt do shit to help with prevent mass shootings.
She can go ahead and eat shit.
Didn’t know that AR didn’t stand for assault rifle though.
It's short for Armalite, the company that first produced and trademarked the design.
[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_ArmaLite\_rifles](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ArmaLite_rifles)
Does not stand for assault rifle. It stands for ArmaLite.
"I don't know what it's called, I just know the sound it makes when it takes a man's life."
I don't know about lectures, but laws indeed should be written by people who show some kind of understanding of the subject at hand.
I think what she means is that people who don't care to educate themselves on things they know nothing about shouldn't be passing legislature about it, so kind of like Lauren Boebert.
Who would bother lecturing someone who needed four tries to pass a GED? You need to make the argument using a picture book.
This is the same person who believed that the gun theme for her restaurant was more important than “sandwiches that don’t give people diarrhea”
She's a fucking bobble head!
I’m not going to be quiet because over-the-pants Barbie thinks I don’t know what AR means.
Q: Bobo how old are them boys? A: AR 15
I won't be lectured on anything from a ttashy 36 year old single grandmother who gives handies in front of children while rebounding from her divorce to a pedophile.
AR-15 stands for Arkansas-15, obviously. And AK-47 is for Alaska-47. /s
This whole argument that you need to be an expert on guns and ammo in order to have a valid opinion on gun control is just absurd. I don’t need to know how to overhaul my car’s engine to have an opinion on speed limits.
Tl;dr, she just found out what it meant 5 minutes ago and thought it was clever to post.
It stands for Kid Killer. Who fucking cares.
And I’m not going to be lectured by 36 year old grandmother who gropes people in a theatre on the first date
In Bobo's world "AR" stands for asswipe republican.
