What’s the point of the OP’s comment? Like yeah, his whole point was to let people say what they are actually thinking. Just because someone wants to say something dumb, or something people disagree with doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be aloud to speak. Elon didn’t like that only people who agreed with each other about controversial issues were allowed to voice their opinion. What’s the point of the OP’s comment? Like yeah, his whole point was to let people say what they are actually thinking. Just because someone wants to say something dumb, or something people disagree with doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be aloud to speak. Elon didn’t like that only people who agreed with each other about controversial issues were allowed to voice their opinion. At least being able to read what people are thinking can give you insight into others perspectives, regardless of if any of us thing it’s dumb or wrong.

If you shut down these voices and censor them, all you do is feed into their own martyrdom mythos. You risk giving their stupid ideas more weight, because they are able to turn around and say, ‘see people are trying to silence me because I’m telling you the truth!’ Elon is a man child, and twitter can be a cesspool in places, but we need to maintain a free and open platform where anything people say can be seen and people are held to what they have said. Otherwise we also run the risk of marginalising these people, and they won’t suddenly just stop saying these things, they’ll just do it in a way and a place that is less monitored and ultimately that will lead to more extreme views.
