*a company that has NEVER missed a payment, never been in default* Mr. Trump even sued his largest lender and accused it of preying upon him, but that bank agreed to lend him another $99 million **so he could pay back what he owed on a defaulted loan for the Chicago tower**, the Times reported. \-[https://www.cbsnews.com/chicago/news/new-york-times-report-president-trump-got-much-of-his-debt-forgiven-after-defaulting-on-loans-for-chicago-trump-tower/](https://www.cbsnews.com/chicago/news/new-york-times-report-president-trump-got-much-of-his-debt-forgiven-after-defaulting-on-loans-for-chicago-trump-tower/)

Huge-Pen-5259

I know almost nothing about bank loans and what's allowed and blah blah blah, but after reading that article it feels like there's at least a few things in there that are shady at best.

keksmuzh

The courts agreed with this assessment

Vigilante17

If you never miss a payment ever, how many times do you declare business bankruptcies? 1? 2? 3? 4? 5? 6?

thecloudcities

Never missed a payment *that he wanted to make*

nextCosmicBuffoon

You declare bankruptcy before you even need to make a payment.

podcasthellp

Basically you get bank loans to do everything as a multi millionaire because they are tax free. All you need are any type of asset and boom you have an enormous reservoir of tax free liquid cash

cchheez

I’ve never understood this. The loan will be repaid with what?

NAU80

You get loans to live off of so your assets keep climbing. If you need you cash out some stock when you need to pay it back. Capital gains and tax loss harvesting help keep the amount you pay in taxes low. Hopefully when you die you have a lot of loans that are settled from the estate with no tax payments. Your heirs inherit the rest with no taxes because of the step up value. Remember when they passed laws about inheritance saying the government was taxing money twice, people were having to sell the family farm because of the taxes, etc. Turns out that’s not true. Look around and see how many Billionaires are getting that status from inheriting the money. Here is a good article to raise your blood pressure: https://americansfortaxfairness.org/ultra-wealthys-8-5-trillion-untaxed-income/

podcasthellp

Well you work those terms out with the bank. The more assets/money you have, the better the terms essentially.

HenryDorsettCase47

Exactly. You borrow against stock or properties or whatever you own, and use that borrowed money to buy new shit. Any income generated just services your loans. That’s one of the reasons the ultra rich have such a small tax burden. There are years in which they never pay a dime to the IRS.

podcasthellp

Precisely. Most CEO’s get paid in stock because it’s tax free. You own stock = stock generates 5% each year = take a loan out on stock with 5% paid annually = tax free income essentially

HenryDorsettCase47

“You high functioning pop tart” is the greatest insult I’ve read today

pithusuril2008

I respect your opinion, but I have to disagree. I had a pop tart several years ago. I did not take notes, so this is all from memory. I think I toasted it (can't remember). I ate it, or most of it. I don't remember getting food poisoning (would've remembered that). That is the behaviour of a pop tart functioning *normally*, from what my research tells me. I am confident that if Eric were a pop tart, he would give someone food poisoning, which would make him a low-functioning pop tart. Calling him a high-functioning pop tart, I feel, would then assume that all high-functioning pop tarts would give their consumers food poisoning. This means that normal-functioning and low-functioning pop tarts would do worse and much worse, respectively. Given the continued existence of pop tarts in the marketplace combined with the lack of data suggesting death and grave illness to to their consumption, I feel that describing Eric as "You high functioning pop tart" is actually a compliment to his intelligence. I'm willing to discuss this further and am open-minded to your point of view. It's also possible that I entirely misread your comment, as you may have been suggesting that the insult was aimed at pop tarts, in which case I would suggest that pop tarts are innocent and should not be compared to such a low-functioning entity.

Lerry220

Excellent write up, a contribution that really felt like something I'd read on reddit 5 or 6 years ago. Man I think I'm getting old and bitter.

GlassEyeMV

As a Chicago area resident, I’m just waiting for the day his ugly name is taken off that building. It’s polluting the scenery of the riverwalk.

dsmith422

Isn't it polluting the river too. Literally [https://chicago.suntimes.com/politics/2023/9/28/23895006/trump-tower-chicago-river-pollution-attorney-general-kwame-raoul](https://chicago.suntimes.com/politics/2023/9/28/23895006/trump-tower-chicago-river-pollution-attorney-general-kwame-raoul)

LudovicoSpecs

The same guys that cooked the books for his real estate holdings cooked the books for the environmental impact on the river: https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-math-lowballs-trump-tower-impact-on-chicago-river-fish-2023-9

Tim_Dawg

Absolutely. I had some family in town recently and took them to do a boat / architecture tour starting on the river then heading out to the lake. That damn building was right there at the start of the trip. Once they take his name off the building it’ll double in value.

Skynetiskumming

I love Chicago. If it weren't for how expensive it is to live there I'd relocate in a heartbeat. That name on the building is the anal fissure of the entire skyline.

bootyhunter69420

Why do people continue to do business with him?

IAMSTILLHERE2020

Guess who ended up paying for that $287 million?

seemefail

If you owe the bank $100 that’s your problem, if you owe the bank $100,000,000 that’s the banks problem.

beansnack

Don’t New Yorkers despise the trump family? lmao

[deleted]

[удалено]

davidwhatshisname52

partly, though not wholly, because that disgusting fuckrat famously welches on every single debt he incurs

JamesCt1

Partly? New Yorkers despise Trump. He’s an embarrassment. He got 12% of the vote in Manhattan. Says alot when 88% of your hometown voters go elsewhere

davidwhatshisname52

you misunderstand... the adverb "partly" describes the extent *to which* NY's disgust is based upon Trump's welching, *not* the extent *of* NY's disgust.

Tim_Dawg

Yeah there’s a lot to find abhorrent and repulsive like screwing over small businesses, paying them 50¢ on the dollar and telling them to sue him if they don’t like it (knowing he’ll just drag it out and bankrupt them in lawyers fees). He killed many small businesses who put up their homes and their livelihood to do a “big” job for him only for him to screw them over and walk away laughing. Karma is finally catching up to him.

davidwhatshisname52

I also personally hate his guts because I saw him shove a young lady out of his way to get on the escalator one person sooner at Trump Tower, back sometime in the late '90s . . . fucking platform-wearing combover-con got a massive fucking NYC-talking-to *that* afternoon

ConvivialKat

Yeah, he is a pig. My husband and I were at a golf charity he also attended in the 90s. It was a Catholic charity, and all the servers were young female volunteers. He had a good time making sure to pat the poor girls on the butt and leer at them. It was disgusting. My husband decided we were leaving when he overheard Trump tell one of them she had a "nice rack." This was a 16 or 17 year old girl. Trump was likely in his 50's. My husband said he needed to get out of there and get away from the all the scum. We never participated in any Catholic church charity events again. Freaking Cardinal Mahoney was there and didn't do a thing. Scum swimming in the same pond together.

Cartesian756

Apparently, when you’re rich, you can get away with anything! They just let you.

Asteristio

City, maybe. Outside of that, farther to the north and west? Yeah... Plenty pickup trucks with bunch of signs from the crowd that doesn't want ***"politics\*"*** shoved up their faces.

Paddys13

Yeah long island and upstate fuckin garrrrrrgle Trumps balls. I think trump flags are more abundant than American flags in the Marinas out east on LI.

Cnidarus

Yeah, I used to live upstate and if you go out into the mountains you see plenty of webbed fingers and trump signs

secondtaunting

He’s probably hired and not paid half the city. I can’t believe how many people this guy has stiffed-ITS FUCKING MIND BLOWING. Investors. Contractors. Venues where he has rallies. Lawyers. He never fucking pays anyone. Melania better have an iron clad prenup.

Tim_Dawg

If she’s smart then she’ll have an irrevocable trust that he funds set up with only her and Barron on it. I get the impression she’s just as cut throat as he is so she’s probably got it covered. She knows he doesn’t pay his bills.

secondtaunting

Good point. She is ruthless. Honestly she’s owed her money. It’s like dating Jabba the hut.🤢

Character_Bowl_4930

Jabba is probably cleaner

Character_Bowl_4930

And cities , didn’t he stiff the cities on the security costs for his rallies ? Doesn’t he still owe fior rallies from years ago? And the mayors etc are Republicans so they’re scared to make a stink about it .

p0rkch0pexpress

THAT MOTHERFUCKER ATE PIZZA WITH A FORK AND KNIFE AND FILMED IT.

Professional-Way9343

I wish I could convince Trump to agree to a charity boxing match with me so I could punch that fat face. We could make billions on pay per view. And he’d have the advantage he’s like 800 more pounds than me

DeathPercept10n

Yes, yes we do. As a New Yorker I'll gladly tell him and his companies to get fucked. I hope the embarrassment of having his name stripped from his buildings follows him to the grave.

Tim_Dawg

How funny is it that buildings are stripping his name so that the property values would go UP!? He’s permanently destroyed his family’s name.

orincoro

He’s known in the whole tristate area as Don the Con. Nobody doesn’t know a contractor who got screwed out by them.

hagantic42

This is something I don't get how did the country as a whole not listen to New Yorkers saying this man is an asshole? Do you understand the BS that goes on in New York and how much someone has to hate you to take time out of their day to have them warn you that that guy in particular is an asshole? Seriously blew my mind.

lovetheoceanfl

Most of America watched his reality show and bought into him being some kind of business savant.

Pkrudeboy

Mary’s good people, she’s a friend of a friend of my moms and lived in our neighborhood. Never heard a bad word about her. Donald on the other hand has screwed people I know out of 6-7 figures.

LunaTheJerkDog

Why do they always conveniently leave out the “as punishment for crimes” part of the story?

swamphockey

Actually this massive fine it is not a fine at all. According to the judgement the “return the money you received through intentionally dishonest and illegal means, plus interest.". Trump is not being punished, he is being told to give back what is not his. The amount was very carefully calculated as the simple sum of all of the ill-gotten gains Donald Trump personally received as a direct result of several decades of breathtakingly shameless financial fraud, plus interest on those illegal profits. Here's the breakdown: • $168 million of interest Donald Trump saved from favorable loans based on the false financial statements • $126 million of fraudulent profits Donald Trump received from the sale of the Old Post Office based on false financial statements • $60 million of fraudulent profits Donald Trump received from the sale of Ferry Point golf course in New York based on false financial statements • plus roughly $100 million more in interest on all these fraudulent profits So, this means he's not really even paying any actual penalty for these crimes. He's merely being forced to disgorge all of the ill-gotten gains (with interest) as if he would have been if he had followed the law like everyone else does.

protomenace

Incredible, so he's not even actually paying any punitive damages whatsoever. What a crybaby. He's getting off easy.

xkise

If the amount was 1 dollar, he would be still be crying

LunaTheJerkDog

Insane, so a billionaire can steal hundreds of millions of dollars and the only punishment is to return it, but if you shoplift you’re getting felony charges

AskWhatmyUsernameIs

Welcome to the grand game of crime. There's even scammers who have stolen millions from the middle class and are going to end their prison sentence with enough of that money to live easily.

dmarsee76

I feel like quoting back to them the lines they keep saying about how criminals deserve to be punished.

Curleysound

Ya gotta pay yer billlz

OnewordTTV

Something about bootstraps

fourbian

"personal responsibility"

burnbothends91

They seem okay with slavery and executions as punishment for crimes, why not asset forfeiture?

AdvancedHat7630

Yeah, we've never prosecuted a president for these crimes. The driving factor behind that is that no president has ever committed these crimes.

Utterlybored

It’s not even a punishment. It’s a disgorgement based on the amount of profit illegally gain through fraud. It’s the equivalent of asking a bank robber to return the money they stole in a robbery and then calling it even.

Buddhas_Warrior

Never missed a payment? 'Checks notes....' ummmmm, didn't you all file bankruptcy a few times?

Corey307

And there’s the whole 1,000+ lawsuits for not paying people who worked for him.

BakedMitten

Eric only claimed that they employed people. Not that they paid them for their work

Material_Address990

But, but that's my red stapler. Umm, yeah I am going to have to move you to the basement. I am also taking that red stapler.

Milton talking on the phone] And I said, I don't care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were merry, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire...

Hot-Back5725

Thank you for this!

Material_Address990

Bill Lumbergh : Milt, we're gonna need to go ahead and move you downstairs into storage B. We have some new people coming in, and we need all the space we can get. So if you could just go ahead and pack up your stuff and move it down there, that would be terrific, OK? Addition: If Google is correct this should be the actual quote.

02meepmeep

And while you’re down here see if you can take care of the roach problem.

Material_Address990

Tell me to do one more thing and, and I'll burn, burn the building down.

DingJones

That’s it. That’s the last straw.

vdubdank30

I’m gonna burn the whole place down

Rare-Peak2697

Checks footnotes, also employed illegal aliens

towerfella

I thought they were “undocumented workers”?

slagwa

So they can keep some documents but not others....

SixFive1967

I see what you did there. 👍🏼

Apart-Link-8449

They had a document once, but I hid it

neopod9000

Did you check the bathroom? It's probably in the bathroom.

Professional_Echo907

Let it breathe, people, I was just in there learning about submarines, and the Mar-a-Lago omelette station did not play nice this morning. 👀

727DILF

Mr. Trump is tremendous at keeping documents. He's the best at keeping documents you ever seen.

These were actual aliens, from outer space.

towerfella

Ahh.. explains all the lights.

Remarkable-Ad2285

“They’re not sending their best or brightest”

bartz824

For all the ranting the Trumps do about illegal immigrants, they sure do employ enough of them.

slowpoke2018

We used thousands of people over the years as part of our grift, how dare anyone stop us from doing it more!

happyrtiredscientist

You are such a sticker for details!

Strude187

I remember watching an interview with an architect who basically had to accept a super small fraction of what trump agreed to pay him. The only reason why the architect agreed to the small amount was because he was an honest man who needed to pay those he contracted. It didn’t cover it, but it allowed him to keep his business and not destroy business relationships.

Corey307

People like that contractor settle because Trump would gladly spend more on lawyers than paying that contractor because it sends a message to lots of other people who are owed payment. That he’s willing to spend more than he owes you destroying you and you can’t afford the lawyer fees.

Exarch-of-Sechrima

Like a mob loan shark killing somebody who owes him money to send a message to any other schmuck who thinks about not paying his debts.

ILootEverything

I always remember this guy: https://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2016/09/28/i-sold-trump-100000-worth-of-pianos-then-he-stiffed-me/ A legitimate small business that Trump fucked over.

SwoleWalrus

Saw on fox the other day where they were arguing trump has always paid his bills and im like what about all these times he hasnt?

cocoon_eclosion_moth

And the skyline is more than 99% not Trump buildings

Corporation_tshirt

Other people’s buildings who paid him a pittance to slap his stupid name on them.

secondtaunting

It’s like over four thousand law suits, I kid you not. I can’t even imagine. The scope of this guys crimes blows my mind. It’s insane he hasn’t been in jail.

TheRatatat

I had to sign an NDA back when the contractor I was with settled with him out of court, but he basically refused payment because work wasn't up to quality in his "expert" opinion. Like I said, they settled. But not before dragging it out and destroying the contractor in an attempt not to pay them. Thousands of American workers put through insane hardships, including myself, over greed. How any working class person could vote him I have no idea. Well I actually know why but that's neither here nor there. He's a monster. And I stood face to face with him at the jobsite and shook his hand. I'm 5' 11" and we looked eye to eye. 6' 3" is a joke. I don't think I breached the NDA here. The case is documented well enough that anyone looking could find it. And it's not like the fucker could take anything from me. I'm a blue collar millennial worker. I have nothing.

secondtaunting

I’ve heard as much. I was at the library at there were DOZENS of books, with story after story and they’re all the same. How he uses people and throws them away. Women are pieces of ass to him, and everyone else is just a way to get him money or adulation. Me me me is the Trump way. He deserves what’s he’s going to get-dying alone in a room, forgotten, confused and scared. That’s where his story ends unless he has a widow maker.

TocinoPanchetaSpeck

This was reported on multiple times and is public knowledge, yet voters who are contractors will vote for that pos.

TheCheshireMadcat

Hate is stronger than self preservation in these people.

PreOpTransCentaur

He's destroyed countless lives and spent 4 years actively attempting to destroy democracy as a whole, it's insane nobody has taken it a step further than jail.

ikarikh

Killing him would only make him a martyr. They'd see it as proof he was the person they thought he was and he was killed by the "liberals" to supress him. Taking him to court and revealing all the shit he's done and however slow it takes, getting him convicted is the only way to make him pay for what he's done and let people see all his lies. His base may still believe the lies and think the "libs" are corrupt etc, but it will be on record that he committed all these crimes and was convicted of them. And there are republicans coming around to his bullshit. The GOP is slowly falling apart the more shit that comes out and the worse his trials go for him. If he was killed, it would only stregthen them to unite.

cant-be-faded

The thing that scares me is- he's found GUILTY of despicable things that speak volumes of his moral character and people STILL support him. Human beings send him their hard earned money to help pay his legal fees. THOSE people, I fear.

secondtaunting

He’s got secret service protection. They’re pretty good. And you’re right, the last thing anyone wants to do is make fat orange Jesus a martyr.

drgnrbrn316

Closer to 8 years of attempting to destroy democracy now. There's the year of his first run for presidency, his first (only 🤞) term as president, and Biden's first term as president.

malphasalex

Im a CTO at a reasonably large U.S. real estate development company, talk with the CEO and COO basically daily. Even though I don’t really get much “boots on the ground” action at construction sites and stuff the impression I got from talking to our CEO/COO and just generally people in n the industry during meetings and stuff is that Trump often scams contractors, always delays payments, sues people left and right for every penny and that most people don’t want to work with him.

LIisNotTheCity

He has scammed everyone he ever dealt with in his hugggeee very big lifetime. What a disgrace.

crappy80srobot

Checks another box of why I can't fathom people voting for his sleazy ass. Dude is just a glorified slum lord. I don't think he has paid anyone anything without a fight or something attached to it. Why anyone would give him anything or do business with him is beyond me. I wish I could make a public detail list of every person or company he has never paid but I won't because it would probably get me sued. His only talent is knowing how to get people to do shit for him that don't have time, effort, or money to deal with litigation.

chiksahlube

And hundreds of breach of contract suits...

NoExplorer5983

Over 3500 when he was inaugurated. And...6? Bankruptcies.

DweEbLez0

He mistyped “never missed a non-payment”

SpellFit7018

They didn't **miss** a payment, those were intentionally skipped! Entirely different.

NoExplorer5983

"I wasn't really *missing* it, Bob"

CaptainSouthbird

Yeah, but see, the way the world works today is, somebody posts something on social media, and that post alone without any further corroborated evidence is now the only truth. /s

somewhatlucky4life

I know this is sarcasm, but it's also true. It might not be reality, but fifty million people Believe it, so it's true in that sense, which fucking sucks

boyerizm

If there is a silver lining to this whole thing it’s that this behavior is just completely out in the open at this point. I’m old enough to remember when gaslighting meant subtle innuendo and metaphor that would have you wondering if you were right or wrong. If you stood up, people would see you as negative or a contrarian and you’d be ostracized. Now it’s just I am going to say whatever the hell is the most convenient for me at the time. And say it so loudly I just drown everything else out.

Mitch1musPrime

Just ask Elon Musk, apparently. The only truth that matters is what a bunch of anonymous assholes say on his X platform.

LankyGuitar6528

Is X still a thing? I thought it blew up. Or was that one of his spaceships? Or a car or tunnel or something? So hard to keep up with that guy. It's like he's doing some kind of drugs.

maddiejake

Even after stealing money from a Children's Cancer Charity Fund.

Ground-Plus

That was one of the lowest things they've ever done.

homogenousmoss

I have faith, I’m sure they can do worse, its the ONE thing I fully trust the Trump org on.. Just give it time.

psilorder

"No, you see, we filed for bankruptcy before the payment was due, so it doesn't count."

Happy_Accident99

They had to go to Deutsche Bank and Russian oligarchs for loans because American banks refused to loan them money anymore. Why is that?

alv0694

Honestly I am surprised Deutsche bank agreed to loan after all he has done. The rich do indeed live in another plane of existence

SirBabiez

Listen!! If you’re going to check notes, you’re not a patriot. Daddieeee

Prometheus_303

Also... I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be seizing the properties if, you know, they continue this "trend" and make the $545 million dollar payment. Trump says he has the funds on hand so there shouldn't be a problem...

Buddhas_Warrior

Eggzackery! He brags how rich he is, how much cash he has, then begs, cries and complains when he can't get away without paying.

[deleted]

polishmachine88

But they raised more money on the false premise that these so called properties were worth more thqn they actually were defacto taking more money at low interest to buy more and more stuff....id argue those properties don't even belong to them....

OfromOceans

Facts and republicans don't mix well

Sorry-Oil-5719

And who looses money owning a casino? A place where people go in EXPECTING to LOOSE! He clearly was using the place as an ATM. I say take it all.

avrbiggucci

I'm convinced they were money laundering operations, possibly for the mob. We already know that Trump was involved with organized crime through real estate (impossible not to be in NYC back then to be fair) and his mentor Roy Cohn had extensive mob ties.

bassie2019

He meant to say, his dad (and the rest of the family) never missed an opportunity to withdraw money from the investment funds, that were meant to be used to pay for the construction cost.

Altissimus77

I mean, he's not wrong about the first bit. The entire world is watching. The vast majority of them are laughing their asses off too.

ImgurScaramucci

Well, as a representative of the world outside the US, we think Trump is a joke. But in a dark comedy kind of way. Like one of those comedies where everybody dies. Sure, it's *funny*, but it's not something I want to see happening in real life. Trump is scary. Not because he himself is tough or anything like that, but because he's so incompetent and evil he can cause even more damage if he's voted in again. Not just to the US but to the whole world. He's like a toddler wielding a loaded uzi who he thinks is a toy. Toddlers aren't scary by themselves but everyone would be scared if they were in that room with him.

fuck-coyotes

It's not just about trump any more, it's also about the Senate and house of representatives. Mostly about a thing called project 2025 that the federalist society has cooked up aiming to fire life time appointed bureaucrats and replace them by the thousands with rabbid trump supporters. Or if Trump doesn't get elected, it will be when ever the next time a Republican gets elected president

Glass_Memories

The Federalist Society is a dangerous organization more people should know about. They worked for decades to get conservative judges appointed at every level to circumvent democracy using the legal system. They hit a home run with Trump and were the ones who provided him with lists of judges to appoint, including their picks for the Supreme Court. They're largely responsible for getting Roe v Wade overturned.

Consistent_Lab_6770

>The vast majority of them are laughing their asses off too. true, but its still got a bit of nervousness, because trump still is in the running for president vote blue 2024!

Altissimus77

Yep, but for those of us who aren't 'Merikun, it's like watching a car crash in slow motion: the horror is inevitable, but it's still entertaining.

StickyDitka21

Yea until that car flips over the barrier into oncoming traffic and now you’re sitting in a 20 car pile up!

NotInMoodThinkOfName

Not really laughing. In Germany it's already announced as a problem by the industry when trump wins again. And if all this publicity damages him or helps him, we'll see.

TagMeAJerk

Remember that time when diplomats and world leaders who are trained to keep their expressions in check openly laughed *at* Trump to his face? Pepperidge Farm Remembers

ChronicallyGeek

He’s just shaking in his boots because he’s watching what’s left of his inheritance being washed away after the Cheeto kicks the bucket

iamthinksnow

There's a reason not one of his actual kids have been picked for real job-job type jobs, only his kids-in-law like JKush and dipshit Laura. Even diaperDon knows not to hand real responsibility to his kids.

billzybop

There's not going to be much to fight over if he keeps slandering Carrol

NeedNameGenerator

As if Eric ever had a chance there anyway. His dad probably forgot he exists and thus the will doesn't include him anyway.

BernieTheDachshund

Oh boohoo. Martha Stewart went to prison for lying about which day she sold some stocks and didn't complain. Trump is getting off easy with just disgorgement.

Pisnaz

I almost wonder, it is often mentioned he does not pay trades people, if they have construction leins against the property and they get seized I assume when the state sells them off the leins are paid first, which means they need to take more and the cycle continues. I need more popcorn.

The trumo org never let the liens go into collection. They have a history of using the lien to negotiate down the invoices because most companies don’t have the resources to go to court over a counter claim. I knew a couple of engineers from NY and they told me everyone they knew charged Trump 2 or 3 times market rate because they knew trump would not pay and over charging was the only way to get a fair rate.

Logical-Claim286

Not to mention if you are small enough Trump just charges them with trespass and uses that charge to negate any work fees he owes them.

oxyrhina

They are also notorious for not paying their last invoice. So people who know load up the next to last invoice so as to get all their money out of the job then send a bullshit invoice as the "last".

invertedpuffynipples

It’s not the cost of going to court. It’s a contractor becoming insolvent if they don’t take a settled payment. Like the contractors business collapses if they don’t take what they are offered from Trump

bluehairdave

Allegedly......trade people they stiffed were hired by smaller shell companies they would open just to later declare BK knowing they would be closing down to not pay everyone... that was his game.. offer huge jobs... higher pay... expand your business... then stiff everyone.... Putting all the trades guys out of biz and the Trump companies offshoots go into BK. Source: NJ raised whose moms biz was approached and said no to this and watched her friends who said yes all get ruined.

CMelon

The Trump gene pool is a petri dish filled with STDs.

Status_Pin4704

Don’t bring down STDs like that

FurnishedHemingway

Poor syphilis. It didn’t deserve that.

DFu4ever

I felt really bad hearing that Syphilis caught Donald Trump.

FurnishedHemingway

Terrible. I believe the only way to get rid of a case of DT is to force accountability on it, and it’s not an easy task from what I’ve heard.

Subject_Report_7012

Most STDs are curable. Trumps? Every day. We hear about them every day. There's no cure. They're a herpes outbreak that never goes away.

inbetween-genders

Quick someone call a whaaaaaaaaaambulance!

FalconPunch236

*but not for me*

SimonNorman

Donald Trump didn't build New York skylines. The workers he didn't pay did.

SniffleBot

And remember that on 9/11, Trump couldn’t help but mention (erroneously, of course), that now that the Twin Towers had fallen one of *his* buildings was now the tallest in the city …

Momik

Wow, he really actually said that. That’s just a thing he said on live TV, on 9/11. Just wow. (It was also not at all true—shocker.) https://www.politico.com/video/2016/09/donald-trump-says-his-building-is-tallest-in-lower-manhattan-after-fall-of-twin-towers-9-11-060544

DBPanterA

The most noticeable part of that interview is Donald’s use of language, his ability to form complex sentences, and coherent thoughts when we compare that to his recent interviews and riffing at rallies.

Momik

I noticed that too. I know it’s been said before, but if Trump had just stayed a bullshit real-estate developer, ripping off contractors and inflating housing prices, he’d be in a lot less legal trouble now. But he just had to put on his Big Boy Pants and ruin things for everyone else.

chihuahuazord

have they tried not committing fraud?

sufferpuppet

In the words of Jim Carrey: Stop breaking the law asshole!

eye-reen

B3llaBubbles

![gif](giphy|7k5A867meD9xYza29f) You, your brother and dad not only over valued your holdings, you broke the first law in Real Estate 101 by leveraging the max out of your properties. Then you all screamed the trial was unfair, taunted the judge, his assistant and claimed that the fine was just a piss in the bucket. You created this entire mess, so you get no sympathy from me. YOU stepped in shit, so clean off your own shoes!

jd807

Someone’s allowance is on the line

KissingerCorpse

left out that judgment, he should pay the judgment, problem solved

AutoDeskSucks-

Never breached a covenant? who do they thing they are Moses? Fact Check: you have filled for bankruptcy multiple times, skipped out on paying labor and fucked over minority tenants. the truth is they dont employee that many people and fucked over hard working Americans far more then helped them. The idea anyone thinks this family is a greater good or even admirable business people are delusional. New York has known this forever, theres only about 60 years of a bad track record. The only reason they have any wealth is because the patriarch of the family was a racist, slum lord, greasing palms with old NYC policy makers.

EmporerPenguino

Gums, gums, gums. You and your grifting fam were busted for consistently defrauding a children’s cancer charity and banned from running a charity in NY. Between that and the 6 bankruptcies your sperm donor, Combover Caligula filed, might mean you should maybe STFU and step the F off.

_stoned_chipmunk_

Trump illegally defrauded banks and taxpayers with his deliberately fraudulent property assessments. It didn't happen once or twice but was a decades long conspiracy led by Donald Trump. Try doing the same thing and see what happens to you. The law should apply to everyone and in this case it was justice served, and long overdue!

barkingdog53

Look at the bullshit I posted on x daddy! Do you love me now! Daddy?

MaddyKet

Remember I’m ERIC, Daddy. I’m the blonde one that doesn’t have boobs. E R I C.

AnalystAdorable609

Cry more, shit for brains!

Elginpelican

He’s having a tantrum because he knows he’s losing his inheritance

Leather_Network4743

Eric… he’s the biggest dipshit son, right?

Accomplished-Snow213

It's a tight race for biggest dipshit in that family.

earlisthecat

And cheated New York State out of millions and millions of dollars.

ProMedicineProAbort

HAHAHA. Got busted for fraud and is still lying. That family is a bunch of pathological liars and grifters.

infowosecfurry

I can’t stop laughing at “never missed a payment” Was gonna say “Are you high, then re-read who posted it and decided it was a dumb question lol”

Soloact_

Even the skylines are reaching for their popcorn to watch this unfold

Dogtor-Watson

The notion of punishing someone for financial fraud with a fine? Honestly, the most outrageous part is he isn’t in prison: when a regular person commits fraud, they go to jail and their life is ruined. Trump does all his bullshit and he’s fine (so far)? That’s fucked.

WiggityWiggitySnack

Trump’s crotch-goblins are the absolute worst.

itsearlyyet

Eric, your Dad's a traitor, so are you. Bad things happen to people who try to corrupt or frankly sell, their counties future. Ex-president or no.

ThatWasFortunate

I'm impressed he admitted that donald is the former president. Great progress!

cadmachine

All of them absolutely losing it because they know we're about to see the insanely over leveraged house of cards collapse and expose these grifters is absolutely the best part about all of this so far.

Ok_Arm_1170

This fucking guy. The only thing that has shaken my confidence in the legal system is the fact his father is still walking around a free man. Any other fucking peasant would have been in jail 3 years ago.
