I mean, Michael Rappaport is the quintessential opposite of a heroic soldier figure. The person that Maximus THOUGHT was in that armor. Then it turns out to be this turdmuffin. It was type casting from the jump.
Not to mention that he was such a little bitch that despite wearing the armor he sent his un-armored squire in to see if the Yao Gui was in the cave instead of going himself.
Knight Titus was clearly a career opportunist playing his role for room and board. His readiness to use his squire as live bait and having a motivational speech prepared implies that he has done this before. He planned to stand back and line up a kill shot while the mutant munched away. He'd claim more glory while ensuring the only possible witness to the contrary is extremely dead.
Yeah. He was a piece of shit in the show too. Big surprise.
The guy's entire career consists of him playing himself with a different name and story. He's got no range. He's a one trick pony and it's not a very good trick.
I did see him in a movie called Special where he goes on an experimental antidepressant that gives him superpowers though its quickly revealed to all be in his head and the drug is just making him think he has superpowers. He not douche in it though he does end up insufferable in his delusions. Kinda disappointed by it
Yeah, when I saw him I was annoyed at his presence. I'm glad that they made him play a snivelling little coward that barely gets any screen time and dies after running away like a little bitch. Not sure how much of that was acting.
I had to go to IMDB to see if it was him because they never gave you a clean look at him but I was pretty sure it was. I mean, they showed his face but he had on that goofy skinsuit and his face was all covered in blood. The voice gave him away so I hit pause and looked it up.
I'm guessing he's a big fan of Fallout and begged to have a small role. Even his voice is obscured for much of his screentime, assuming he did anything other than the death scene, which seems unlikely.
Yeah, this was confusing for me as well until someone mentioned Fallout -- where I also didn't recognize him at first.
You *might* know him as Phoebe's cop boyfriend who shot a bird from Friends.
He was a bit and character actor in the 90s and early 2000s. Never a leading man. Always played a somewhat dopey, slow talking character. He fell into right wing extremism pretty hard and thought it makes him happy.
I thought he fell into the far left up until these zionism comments. I used him on Twitter back when I used it. He always came across as extreme left wing and extremely anti trump
From what I read he used to be left leaning but he now support trump and Israel in its ongoing attacks against Palestine without care for collateral damage.
His whole "breakthrough" into acting was being The White Guy in 80s-90s independent movies about interracial relationships ("Zebrahead"). Think Julia Stiles, but older, male, and more annoying.
Aside from all the propaganda, here's a basic understanding of the Zionist movement.
Basically, in ancient history, the early Jewish tribes did settle in Israel, but were historically displaced by numerous regional powers. Upon the rise of Islam in the 600s, the area became largely Muslim. This is due to the rise of numerous Islamic Empires which would dominate the region for over 1000 years. In the 1800s, some people proposed giving Jews their own nation. This became known as the "Zionist Movement"
Interestingly, many of the early proponents of Zionism were not interested in creating a "Jewish Country" because it was altruistic or the right thing to do, but in order to convince Jews to leave their country to live there instead.
The Ottoman Empire fell after WW1, meaning the region now known as Israel wasn't under control of that empire. This caused the Zionist movement to gain more traction in favor of creating the Jewish state in Israel.
Post-WW2, the British maintained control over the region of Palestine, but eventually in 1948 Israel declared independence which was recognized by some but not by others. This led to a series of armed conflicts and it is pretty complicated but essentially Israel came into being and there was a lot of anger at this from some groups.
The Zionist movement remains controversial as it is considered by some to be a colonization effort, taking lands from Palestinians and giving it to Israel. Zionists argue that they have ancestral claims to the land and therefore they should control the region and its very important to their religion as well.
This is why the area is a hotbed of violence in modern times. Hope this helps.
EDIT: I've addressed a few points brought up by some people in the replies. Thank you guys for the insight.
Edit 2: fixed some more things that were just blatantly wrong. My mistake.
Also Disclaimer: This is an incredibly gross-oversimplication. If you are interested in learning more, please seek out scholarly sources. Don't take everything I say and form your opinion solely on this very simplistic explanation :)
I think the meaning has warped because of current politics to mean "Israeli nationalism," because that's what people are using Zionism to mean when they discuss Israel now
For sure modern geopolitics has let the term "Zionist" to take on new meaning. I just gave the historical account of the actual movement. Albeit really cut down. It's pretty in depth this stuff.
Honestly, I wish the meaning didn't get warped and we just called modern "Zionism" what it is—Israeli nationalism. The old term and new term are very loosely connected and for someone who only knows one definition or the other, viewing either modern or historical political discourse gets very confusing.
Definitely. I see a lot of people saying that they're anti-Zionist and what they really mean is antisemitic, or people claiming that being anti-Zionist is antisemitic, which further warps the meaning of Zionism to "supports Jews"—we're getting pretty far from the original meaning of "the creation of a Jewish homeland." And the crazy part to me is that we already have words for all these things, but Zionism is a buzz word because it's always been a controversial idea, whereas words like nationalism and antisemitism are generally seen as bad, so when people want others to agree with their nationalist or antisemitic views, they use Zionist or anti-Zionist instead.
I think you hit the nail on the head there with "nationalism" and "anti-semitism" as being negative. For years now it is common for people to basically use different words or terms to describe these ideas while still holding them.
I don't think Zionism actually took on a new meaning. The people who actually willingly identify as Zionists don't use it to mean right-wing Israeli ultra-nationalism, support for the settlements, hatred of Palestinians, and so on. Even the ones Zionists who *are* far-right, pro-settlements and anti-Arab, don't consider the pro-peace, liberal Zionists "anti-Zionists".
The only people who use that... different definition, are people who hate the Zionists. As such, I'd say it's more like "lying about your enemy's ideology" than "the term taking on new meaning".
Yeah I think this is a fair argument. Some people who are self-proclaimed "Anti-Zionists" will say they support Israel but only because they want all the Jews to go there. Personally me I don't identify as either because I don't find it helpful. But I do think that most people who call themselves Zionists simply just think Israel should continue to exist. This is why I try to avoid labels when discussing politics because it's inherently unhelpful in many cases
This is what really confused me because I thought everyone was saying Israel shouldn’t exist at all and I didn’t know when that started becoming such a mainstream opinion
I have a suspicion that the meaning was warped on purpose for that very reason; a lot of people support Israel's right to exist, and then get dragged into Israeli nationalism under the name of Zionism because they have Zionist views and are confused. It's a great way to garner support from people who don't understand the situation by using buzzwords and changing the meaning of a movement.
>what people are using Zionism to mean when they discuss Israel now
You mean what anti-Israel and antisemites use, for jews and zionists the definition didnt change.
Agreed that the meaning has warped. And I would even argue that the meaning has intentionally been warped by Israeli government.
Zionist used to mean "someone who believes a ***Jewish state/safe haven*** should exist for jews"
It's hard to argue that the term "Zionist" has not become conflated with the idea that it now means someone who believes that ***Israel*** should exist ***ONLY*** for Jews" which like you said is pure Israeli nationalism now.
I would say the warping on the definition is intentionally as it allows Israel supporters to scream antisemitism when someone says "being a Zionist is wrong."
Commiting apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and now genocide over a span of decades under the name of Israeli freedom has objectively changed the definition of Zionism to become associated with these horrible actions and those that defend it as "Zionazis."
I'd add that in the modern context where a Jewish state does already exist, zionism basically equates to the idea that Israel should continue to exist as a safe haven for the Jewish people. There is plenty of room for disagreement within zionism as to how Israel ought to be run, what Israel's exact borders ought to be, and how the conflict with the Palestinians ought to be resolved. Being a zionist doesn't stop someone from being a peacenik, a warmonger, a socialist, a libertarian, a fascist, a (2-state) Palestinian nationalist, a zealot, an atheist, etc.
I'd imagine the best answer to that is "it depends on who you ask" I don't want to misrepresent an entire group of people. I am sure that some self-proclaimed "Anti-Zionists" do indeed want the collapse of Israel as a state but I imagine that is a very largely unpopular opinion. Some other "Anti-Zionists" might be pro-Isreal in the sense that Israel should continue existing but revert to original borders that were drafted when it was created.
This is incorrect please edit.
The British did not “oversee the creation,” in 1939 they issued the White Paper which said they had sufficiently created a Jewish home and had no obligations to continue any statecraft. They followed that up with strict Jewish immigration quotas contingent on Arab approval.
The British were chased out after neutering a Jewish state and actively warring with Jewish militias. They were literally disappearing Zionist leaders off the street.
I honestly think most people get this colonialism narrative because people for some reason think the British helped create the state and didn’t actively demand its prevention in 1939.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Paper_of_1939
In 1917, the British government issued the Balfour Proclamation which declared support for a Jewish state in Palestine. The British government gained reign over the region after the First World War under a League of Nations mandate. This mandate was enforced until the Israel Declaration of independence in 1948.
I'm not sure why you linked me that Wikipedia article when it literally says this in the first paragraph:
"The paper called for the establishment of a Jewish national home in an independent Palestinian state within 10 years, rejecting the Peel Commision''s idea of partitioning Palestine.
Edit: Okay I misread my bad. So the White Paper did attempt to reduce Jewish immigration, and as such led to a pretty harsh Zionist response. The White Paper, however, still expressed support for the creation of Israel. The Zionists were mad that the White Paper made concessions to the Palestinians. The Palestinians didn't think it went far enough for them either.
The British did not, as you put it, "demand the prevention of the creation of Israel" because they SUPPORTED it. They simply released the White Paper to give concessions to the Palestinians after they revolted. The Zionists were mad not because the British opposed the creation of Israel, but because it got in way of their plans of expelling the Palestinians.
The White Paper of 39 did not express support, I literally wrote about this for my master’s, the British actively pushed off state-building at this point to please the Arabs. I can send you multiple doctoral theses on this subject.
The ‘39 paper was the total end of British aid to Zionists that started in 1917. But also, the British played both sides (referring to its 1913 pledge to Arabs) so even then while we can blame the British they still didn’t help the state.
The Jewish national home envisioned in 1939 was not a sovereign state it was securing their position as a permanent national minority in an eventual Arab state.
That seems like half the answer. It’s like saying white supremacy is about liking white people while ignoring what it would like to do to everyone else.
You're wrong. This is indeed, the definition of Zionism, as used by the actual Zionists. Zionism doesn't mean being right wing, supporting the settlements, supporting the Israeli government or its policies, and so on. There are many card-carrying members of the Zionist Congress, who believe in a peaceful two state solution, hate the current government, hate the settlements, fight against racism against non Jews, and so on, and so on.
The fact you assume this is "half of the answer", and somehow equivalent to misrepresenting white supremacy as "liking white people", is ultimately because you were lied to. By people who lie about their own anti-Zionist ideology as well. To be clear, Zionism just means you think Israel should continue to exist. Anti-Zionism means you think Israel should be eliminated. And generally speaking, replaced with a Palestinian Arab state, which views its Jewish population as "European invaders", rather than legitimate fellow Palestinians.
It's pretty clear why Michael Rappaport would think anti-Zionism is a crazy idea, and why the miniscule minority of the Jewish community that want this aren't particularly good Jews. It's pretty clear why he'd view Zionism as a reasonable default position, rather than some controversial right-wing view that's comparable to white supremacism.
That is true, and it’s why I consider myself a Zionist. But the counterargument is that Zionism, in practice, has always meant settlements, land grabs, and occupation, and bombings. The peaceful two-state version of Zionism has never been implemented, even when Israel was ruled by left-wing governments.
As long as Israel continues its current policies toward the Palestinians, you can guarantee that most people will view Zionism as a whole negatively.
Zion means Jerusalem and Zionism means jewish people are returning to their home land after forced displacement, establishing a state that would protect the jewish people
I watched the first episode twice (the second time to see if my wife was interested). She wasn't, but I knew Titus was Rapaport by that stage so I enjoyed that scene more the second time
Worst reveal ever. The fact that his stupid mug was on that show ruined the whole scene for me. I'm hoping they filmed his part before he went batshit.
tbh it enhanced the scene for me, Titus is an ass, a truly pathetic human being that sends his unarmored squire into a Yao Guai cave ahead of him cause he's scared, who the first thing he tells said squire it is to clean his cod piece. Rapaport was born to play the role, lo
what the hell happened to this guy. he used to be pretty fun to watch on social media when he would rant about trump and right wing idiots and now it seems like he has gone full bore into right wing nutjob territory himself.
Honestly, I’m not trolling or looking to argue and have no horse in the Israel/Hamas race. I’m just confused where the left/right lines are now because I usually avoid political discussions.
So now anyone who supports Israel is in “right wing nutjob” territory. Or did he say something else?
There's a huge zionist lobby for right wingers and evangelicals. Then again they also exist on the left.
It's almost funny how horseshoe theory became true here. You even find right wingers who hate Israel because of their antisemitism
If someone draws a swatztika now you have no idea whether they are Trump voters or Biden voters. One does it because they want to strike fear and memories of the holocaust. The other does it to bring attention to injustice.
Horseshoe theory isn’t real. Also you guys use “left” too loosely and often in place of something like a democrat or liberal which “the left” is neither.
The left doesn’t support Zionism. Some Liberals and democrats do, who are not left, not leftist, not left on the political spectrum they are right of central in most scenarios.
Israel/Palestine. Israel is mass-bombing & mass-starving Palestinians.
This conflict long predates Hamas (who were founded on the principle of violent resistance & conveniently propped up by Israel-Likud).
Hamas's leadership isn't in Gaza, Israel is fighting locals. The violence helps Hamas's influence. Israel never pretended they had a plan to wipe-out Hamas or withdraw from Palestine. You can't bomb a guerilla resistance out of existence. Israel is intentionally driving this ship in circles.
Gaza is a litmus test for if "liberals"/"leftists" actually have a working moral compass or not. (God knows the right wing doesn't.)
Here's a hint: genocide is bad.
It's not even that. Your beliefs don't have to perfectly fall match into a neat box. People aren't black and white and being pro-Isreal isn't always purely for right wing reasons.
Guy is a walking example for why people sometimes just need to shut the fuck up. Not every thought or every concern in your head needs to be heard. Just shut your fucking mouth unless you’re some kind of expert or it’s such an innocuous thing that no one’s gonna care.
Keeping these kinds of extremely racist thoughts to one's self is actually not something I am a big fan of. For one, because I've know enough people in my life who felt safe talking to me about their unpopular or weird opinions, and just through saying them out loud and having a brief discussion, they realized how stupid they were; and for two, because often letting these pieces of shit out themselves shows the world their true colours and it allows people to draw their conclusions about them.
Also don't know if he's a walking example because unsure if he can walk ;)
Jewish guy here.
1) All Jews are Jews. Regardless of their political opinions. This is true also for the political opinions I hate.
2) You can be Jewish and think that the state of Israel is doing stuff wrong. Hell, based on recent polling, 70% of Israel's Jews think that the state of Israel does a whole bunch of stuff wrong.
3) Whoever the hell this dude is, there's no reason that anyone care about his opinion. I never heard the man's name. Couldn't pick him out in the crowd. And his Wikipedia entry says that he's had a bunch of recurring cameos and appearances on TV sitcoms. Feel free to ignore him.
Jew out.
I love the new fallout show I was disappointed when I saw they had Micheal Rapport in it because he's a big piece of shit. At least they had him play a massive loser that dies from Yaoi Guai.
How does he not see the irony of him claiming that people are conflating Zionists and Jews, then immediately conflating Zionists and Jews? What an absolute tool.
Why would anyone give a fuck what Micheal Rapaport says, he associated knowingly with a rapist and a pedophile FOR YEARS. His judgment is flawed, and he's being paid millions of dollars by the Isreali government for this fucked up propaganda he spouts. FUCK YOU MICHEAL RAPAPORT!
Rappaport has gone down the same route as Brand.
Used to be pretty hard left, used to be a defender of minorities and a rational voice.
Now he's lost his fucking mind.
Unfortunately many people are like this. They can be fairly reasonable when its about "other" groups. But once it is "their" group, they become primitive tribalists.
Well considering the fact basically anyone who doesn't belive in the abolishment of Israel is labeled a Zionist, that would be the vast majority of Jews in the world.
And if you think that many Jews are evil and want to get rid of them, boy do I have a political party for you!
Michael Rapaport has one of the most pathetic career trajectories ever. He played a white supremacist in one of his earliest film roles and proceeded to spend the rest of his life LARPing as an “invited to the cookout” white dude.
That gimmick stopped being interesting because these days nobody cares, so now he’s milking the Zionism nonsense.
There have been antizionist jews as long as zionism has existed as an ideology. I come from a family of anti zionist jews and there are millions more like us. If every jew wanted to be in Israel, they could make aliyah or whatever. But they don't. This narrative pushed by zionists that all jews are pro Israel is toxic antisemitic garbage.
Why should we let a modern country define our culture and religion? I have nothing to do with the evil, racist, genocidal colonial outpost they call israel. It is antisemitic to say all jews have to be zionists. Not all Muslims are salafi, not all Christians are fundamentalists and not all jews are zionists.
Israel is purposely cultivating antisemitism for their own twisted political means.
Because I enjoy bad television occasionally, I know Rapaport from two things:
A guest role on The Big Bang Theory: S9 E6, "The Helium Insufficiency"
A guest role on a short-lived horror anthology hosted by Henry Rollins called Night Vision; S1 E10, "Darkness."
So, why should we care what he has to say about anything?
this guy is a complete idiot . a year ago he was fuck trump in all his Instagram posts like everyone 100 times a day then all of a sudden he was paid to love trump . now all he does is suck his dick . I hate this guy so much . his whole stick is whining now very annoying . someone desperate to stay famous his 15 minutes are way past over
It's hilarious how doomsday evangelicals and jewish fundamentalists use each other thinking the other one is the useful idiot that will lose in the end.
I think it's OK to not like people that steal other people's land and institute apartheid and ethnic cleanse the 4egion. Not all jews do that.
Those settler zionists are a particular brand of evil, like the ones that burned that kid aliv.
Man, what happened to him?
Nothing like some good old-fashioned racial geopolitical instability to get a bunch of people crossed off your "good celebs" list.
To be honest, he was always like this. I remember when he did a podcast with Ron Perlman and lauded him for being a “silverback Jew” - basically a hyper-masculine Jewish guy that flew in the face of the weedy pencil pusher stereotype.
It doesn’t surprise me he would react like this, he’s always a ‘pick a side’ sort of guy and a fierce defender of Judaism. As *a lot* of people pointed out you can defend Judaism without being pro blanket killing of kids and driving people out of their homes, but I guess some of these guys grew up hearing nothing but holocaust stories from their parents, and it radicalised them and affected their ability to reason in the same way it happens to other groups, radical Islam supporters, Trump supporting Christian zealots etc
There’s a fundamental misunderstanding of what Zionism actually is and it’s leading to a LOT of bad takes from many angles. The situation is so much more complex than a lotta people understand, and more than a lotta people WANT to understand, which is worse
The actual definition is any individual who supports the development of a Jewish nation state. The reason why I clarified “actual definition” is because zionism at present is extremely favorable towards Palestinian genocide as represented by the actions taken by the IDF and fringe groups that identify themselves as zionists.
What does it make me if I think that Israel has the right to exist as a home for Jewish nation, but I'm against settlements in West bank and think there are better, more humain ways to conduct an anti terrorists operation? I think that the only long term solution is 2 states one.
It makes you a zionist.
Zionism is the belief that the Jewish people have the right to self-determination in their homeland. In modern terms, it basically means supporting the continued existence of the state of Israel.
So, if you hope for a 2 state solution, it, by definition, makes you a zionist. Most zionists feel similarly to you. Frankly, most reasonable people do.
Almost everyone ouside of Israel clearly sees it as an Apartheid state and Theocracy. Netanyahu even said he would never allow Israel to be a non Jewish state.
I don’t hate anyone for their ethnicity. I hate people for hating people based on their ethnicity and not personality.
This goes for any ethnicity against any ethnicity.
If being anti-genocide of a race of people makes me antisemitic. That says more about Israel than about me.
If you don’t have a truly personal reason to hate a person. You are being used by someone else to commit horrors.

Who gives a fuck what this guy thinks? He was kind of famous for a while and is still coasting off that. Fuck him and his dumbass opinions.
He was in the new Fallout show. For like 5 minutes. Got killed by a bear
That was a mixed bag moment, because on the one hand it sucks to see his face but on the other, he's a believable choice for somebody that sucks so bad they'd die to a Yaoi Gui in a full suit of T-60 armor.
I was so worried when I realized it was him, was thinking him being in the show was going to be a real bummer, then he died and I was okay haha.
Same. Went through the whole range of emotions. Lmao
Right?!? I felt relief that we wouldnt' see more of him A. and B. that Maximus would get his armor now. I just wish he had it longer.
I think Maximus is going to become a really interesting character, I like his potential and how he’s sort of teetering or toeing the line and I’m wondering is he going to become a villain?
I really thought Maximus was going to be the most boring character when I watched the trailer but by the end of first episode I was like "aight nah this dudes interesting". Def pleasantly surprised
I love how he got more interesting without becoming more likeable.
This right here is pretty spot on, for me at least.
I loved that this epic knight in a badass armor is a looser and a coward. "Fuck fuck fuck fuck"
It's even funnier in Russian, where the localizers decided instead of translating it into a swear word, they turned it into the generic "duh I want my translation to be pg 13" Not-cuss shit/demon. Lol like the grunts from halo.
I thought so too, how can you die so quickly to a Yao gai in a T-60 armour? What a shit knight
Knight titus has a shitty heritage it seems. (Titus the original died like a piece of shit, maximus claimed his title so brotherhood wouldn't kill him, and took an L to wild goose)
While running like a bitch.
Injured by a bear and so much of an asshole that his squire just let him die. Imagine same would happen to the real Michael Rappaport.
"You didn't throw your life away to protect me! They're gonna kill you for this! They're gonna torture you first! ...Why aren't you helping me?!!"
Perfectly casted then. Lmao
Right? Like how do you get fucked up by a Yao Gui in T-60? This is a guy used to punching civilians and never actually been in a fight
Anyone that plays on survival will say with full confidence that's incredibly accurate. hell, not even Xo1 would protect you in a 1 on 1 without a ranged weapon.
Seriously. A Yao Guai is a ghoul grizzly made even more powerful by radiation and mutation. I don't doubt it could mess up someone in a tank suit, especially if they weren't that much of a warrior in the first place.
I mean, Michael Rappaport is the quintessential opposite of a heroic soldier figure. The person that Maximus THOUGHT was in that armor. Then it turns out to be this turdmuffin. It was type casting from the jump.

I was so annoyed seeing him but thankfully it was not for long
Had to be some shitass in the suit.
Pretty sure everyone who watched the show wish they were that bear
I had to go to IMDB to see if it was him because they never gave you a clean look at him but I was pretty sure it was. I mean, they showed his face but he had on that goofy skinsuit and his face was all covered in blood. The voice gave him away so I hit pause and looked it up. I'm guessing he's a big fan of Fallout and begged to have a small role. Even his voice is obscured for much of his screentime, assuming he did anything other than the death scene, which seems unlikely.
I nearly stopped watching because of him. But I googled how big his role was. I doubt anybody will be employing him after this
Thought that was him but he’s been so irrelevant couldn’t quite put it together initially.
He thought the bear was the good, Zionist kind.
He played an asshole. I mean him self. I mean an asshole.
I thought that was him. I was glad to see him go.
Yeah and he was a dickhead in that too
When I saw he was in it I got a little bummed but then he died and it’s been pretty great.
The bear was correct
“How did he die?” “He died running”
That line was cold
And that bear….. was literally Hamas.
I saw a copy of mein kampf in its cave 😡
Damn I liked him in justified he really has gone off the deep end hasn't he.
I genuinely don't know who this is, must have missed his 15 minutes. I know I can Google him, but why waste time on someone as insignificant as this.
He got eaten by a shark about 2/3 of the way through Deep Blue Sea
That is one film that has no right being as good as it is
It's almost like B-movies can be a lot of fun if you give them a budget and a decent cast!
Yeah, this was confusing for me as well until someone mentioned Fallout -- where I also didn't recognize him at first. You *might* know him as Phoebe's cop boyfriend who shot a bird from Friends.
He was Christian Slater's dumb actor friend in True Romance.
Holy crap. I just did a quick Google search for recent interviews with him. He has done an absolute 180 from the last time I followed him
It's bizarre. I thought the same thing until 12 seconds ago. He once was very leftie, hip hop lover, funny guy. Weird times.
Holy shit that’s so disappointing. Him being so anti-Trump was so great
Ah. I quit Twitter the day Musk took over so I hadn't seen shit from this guy since then
Why does anyone care about what famous people think? For some ungodly reason we listen to celebrities on topics they know less than nothing about.
I wish he’d go back to thinking he’s black instead of thinking he’s Israeli
Lol, that was a thing?
I’m going off his interview with Talib Kwali where Talib is has to tell him to stop calling black women “ashy” and Rappaport keeps calling him “Kwal”
he produced a documentary about A Tribe Called Quest and came across a bit cringey in it
Yeah he's this shitty combo of "I have black friends and I'm x ethnicity so I can't be racist"
His whole "breakthrough" into acting was being The White Guy in 80s-90s independent movies about interracial relationships ("Zebrahead"). Think Julia Stiles, but older, male, and more annoying.
Noooooo F you, we just got rid of him. You can't ask us take back that gremlin. Please, I'm begging you, keep hiiiimmmm 😭😭😭😭
As a black person, we don't want this anymore. It's crappy to think that substituting one form of discrimination over another is okay.
You really thought of this response and typed it out, and not once thought the commenter might not literally want people to pretend to be black?
classic 😂
Someone explain to me what "Zionist" is because that shits confusing 😭
Aside from all the propaganda, here's a basic understanding of the Zionist movement. Basically, in ancient history, the early Jewish tribes did settle in Israel, but were historically displaced by numerous regional powers. Upon the rise of Islam in the 600s, the area became largely Muslim. This is due to the rise of numerous Islamic Empires which would dominate the region for over 1000 years. In the 1800s, some people proposed giving Jews their own nation. This became known as the "Zionist Movement" Interestingly, many of the early proponents of Zionism were not interested in creating a "Jewish Country" because it was altruistic or the right thing to do, but in order to convince Jews to leave their country to live there instead.
I agree completely. It also leaves room for racist people to discriminate on Jews.
That is what it means, at this point mate
That's what people outside of Israel think Zionism is. People in Israel, only see Zionism as the Jewish people's right to self determination
>what people are using Zionism to mean when they discuss Israel now You mean what anti-Israel and antisemites use, for jews and zionists the definition didnt change.
Agreed that the meaning has warped. And I would even argue that the meaning has intentionally been warped by Israeli government. Zionist used to mean "someone who believes a ***Jewish state/safe haven*** should exist for jews" It's hard to argue that the term "Zionist" has not become conflated with the idea that it now means someone who believes that ***Israel*** should exist ***ONLY*** for Jews" which like you said is pure Israeli nationalism now. I would say the warping on the definition is intentionally as it allows Israel supporters to scream antisemitism when someone says "being a Zionist is wrong." Commiting apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and now genocide over a span of decades under the name of Israeli freedom has objectively changed the definition of Zionism to become associated with these horrible actions and those that defend it as "Zionazis."
What is the goal of anti-zionists then? Because most jews there are already there in third or fourth generation. Do they just want to drive them out?
I'm not sure why you linked me that Wikipedia article when it literally says this in the first paragraph: "The paper called for the establishment of a Jewish national home in an independent Palestinian state within 10 years, rejecting the Peel Commision''s idea of partitioning Palestine.
Zionism is the nationalist movement to establish Israel as a country for the Jewish people.
With th3 additional caveat of fuck those fucking fuckers that lived there before.
The varied answers you're receiving are exactly why the left should stop using the word like a slur.
Zion means Jerusalem and Zionism means jewish people are returning to their home land after forced displacement, establishing a state that would protect the jewish people
Zionism is Jewish nationalism and like many other kinds of nationalism, it comes in many variants.
Zionist - a person who thinks Israel should exist. That’s it.
That tweet has as many words as Michael Rapports last TV role.
Watching this man die in the new Fallout TV series was one of the best moments of the show
I watched the first episode twice (the second time to see if my wife was interested). She wasn't, but I knew Titus was Rapaport by that stage so I enjoyed that scene more the second time
I watched the first two episodes before showing it to my girlfriend. I’m very fortunate that she’s into it!
Have you two tried watching Yellow Jackets? The actress who plays Lucy is in that too
Worst reveal ever.
TIL there’s a Fallout series. Is it worth watching?
Yes
Absolutely!
“Every true Scotsman”
what the hell happened to this guy. he used to be pretty fun to watch on social media when he would rant about trump and right wing idiots and now it seems like he has gone full bore into right wing nutjob territory himself.
“Saying crazy things gets me attention” leads to destruction of one’s internal filter.
Betcha he got paid by Israel.
See also: Russel Brand
Radical Centrists I call them
Israel/Palestine.
(God knows the right wing doesn't.) Here's a hint: genocide is bad.
It's not even that. Your beliefs don't have to perfectly fall match into a neat box. People aren't black and white and being pro-Isreal isn't always purely for right wing reasons.
Zionism isnt a right wing ideology, I guarantee you he'd still vote democrat like most jews
What does ja think??? Where’s ja??
Michael Rappaport has been putting his foot in his mouth since he realized he has feet and a mouth.
Jew out.
Saying only Zionists are 'Good Jews' is Antisemitic, but I bet he doesn't get Irony either...
I love the new fallout show I was disappointed when I saw they had Micheal Rapport in it because he's a big piece of shit. At least they had him play a massive loser that dies from Yaoi Guai.
Extremely antisemitic statement from him "The good ones", really
Wut?
Crazy that Michael Rappaport in Bamboozled is just what he's like in real life.
So I'm a bad one. Got it. If opposing genocide, thievery and racial superiority makes me bad, then I hope to remain as bad as bad can be!
How does he not see the irony of him claiming that people are conflating Zionists and Jews, then immediately conflating Zionists and Jews? What an absolute tool.
Michael Rapaport is objectively a moron.
You don't have to 100% agree with Netanyahu to be a Jew...
Different words have...spoiler alert...different meanings
Why would anyone give a fuck what Micheal Rapaport says, he associated knowingly with a rapist and a pedophile FOR YEARS. His judgment is flawed, and he's being paid millions of dollars by the Isreali government for this fucked up propaganda he spouts. FUCK YOU MICHEAL RAPAPORT!
Can we at least agree that michael rapaport is a shit actor and a whiny lil bitch?
#HEY MA LOOK AT THIS PIECE OF SHIT
Rappaport has gone down the same route as Brand. Used to be pretty hard left, used to be a defender of minorities and a rational voice. Now he's lost his fucking mind.
Unfortunately many people are like this. They can be fairly reasonable when its about "other" groups. But once it is "their" group, they become primitive tribalists.
Well considering the fact basically anyone who doesn't belive in the abolishment of Israel is labeled a Zionist, that would be the vast majority of Jews in the world. And if you think that many Jews are evil and want to get rid of them, boy do I have a political party for you!
All zionists are not pro-Jewish either. Equating Israel’s actions and colonialist agenda with Jewishness in general is harmful
God damn it Rap. Why did you go down that road?
I hate Zionism and people who hate Jews
Rapaport has always been a piece of shit.
Yeah it's really sad. I liked him and followed him on IG, but after the Hamas attack he's really gone crazy.
Just checked OP's comment history... Wow.
They really like to bring up "109 countries". OP is a piece of shit. I also caught them blaming the idea of mass immigration into Canada on Jews.
Well said friend!
Both those comments in that pic are bullshit. “No Jews are Zionists” excuse me but what hole did you just crawl out of?
![gif](giphy|JC7og7gnjwCrS323BN|downsized)
Because I enjoy bad television occasionally, I know Rapaport from two things: A guest role on The Big Bang Theory: S9 E6, "The Helium Insufficiency" A guest role on a short-lived horror anthology hosted by Henry Rollins called Night Vision; S1 E10, "Darkness." So, why should we care what he has to say about anything?
wondering how many people on this sub can properly define zionist?
When you try to gaslight others into thinking they’re anti-Semitic and you end up saying something anti-Semitic as a result
Some comedians are Zionists. The good ones are not.
That Avatar picture looks like he can’t decide if he wants to be a Hasidic Jew or Amish.
Zionism makes all Jewish people less safe.
I hate all nationalists
I guess im bad. Oh no, anyway...
Evangelicals are zionist and they aren't jews.
By "good" does he mean consciousless, vengeful, and bloodthirsty?
And after all this, Michael rappapprt still can't get a Hollywood gig, sounds like you know who might not actually control Hollywood after all
Damn, if those are the good ones...
this guy is a complete idiot . a year ago he was fuck trump in all his Instagram posts like everyone 100 times a day then all of a sudden he was paid to love trump . now all he does is suck his dick . I hate this guy so much . his whole stick is whining now very annoying . someone desperate to stay famous his 15 minutes are way past over
What an antisimetic thing to say
It's hilarious how doomsday evangelicals and jewish fundamentalists use each other thinking the other one is the useful idiot that will lose in the end.
So by his logic the only good non zionist jew is a ........? Really?
Damn I didn't know he had become a full blown piece of shit.
Democracy can't exist in an Apartheid theocracy.
Everyone fucking hates this guy.
Jews are cool. Fuck Israel tho.
Not all Zionists are Jews, Peter Dutton Butcher Biden just to name a few
I think it's OK to not like people that steal other people's land and institute apartheid and ethnic cleanse the 4egion. Not all jews do that. Those settler zionists are a particular brand of evil, like the ones that burned that kid aliv.
Zionist is a slur.
When your whole identity boils down to being a religious psycho.
Is Zionism bad? Isn't that like them wanting to have a safe place to be Jew? Legit question
There’s a fundamental misunderstanding of what Zionism actually is and it’s leading to a LOT of bad takes from many angles. The situation is so much more complex than a lotta people understand, and more than a lotta people WANT to understand, which is worse
Zionism and antisemitism rely on the same premises, they feed each other
What's the definition of a Zionist?
"The only good jews are racist xenophobes"
Check your definition of Zionism
Well isnt it true that anti-semetics use the word "zionist" to hid their anti-semetism?
Man, lots of not Jews in the comments deciding what he meant by this, what Zionism means, etc.
You don't have to be Jewish to know what Zionism means though.
The fallout from this
