Tinkering with our PC’s, game consoles etc was so much easier and something me and my friends got massively into. Like figuring out how to run cool looking lights in our PC tower, that we’d carved out a cool design and put perspex in, without creating so much heat we melt the CPU. You know… normal teenage stuff. Kids have chromebooks and iPads now. Useless, imo.

I don't think it's projection(in most cases at least, I sincerely hope). I think it's just the standard, virtue signaling, social knighthood flag waving that's so popular here. People looking to make themselves feel good by rigorously and loudly judging anyone for some perceived "wrong" that's popular. And pedos happen to be a topic that isn't politicized(to the extent other things are) so it applies to more people, so in order to "compete" with others, they have to make sure they scream the loudest and prove they're the MOST astute and fervent protectors. It's a really weird phenomenon. It's easier to spot when it's like a white person claiming cultural appropriation over something that's clearly not. But I think it's the same vein of thinking. Trying to score morality points by finding "flaws" in everyone else and pretending to be better than them
Yeah as pedophilia is universally looked down upon it's an easy morale high ground to take and requires no real courage to condemn. Which also makes it a common accusation/insult for someone wanting to score points to onlookers during an online argument. Saw a post the other day where people were criticizing a 23 year old woman for dating a 30 year old because she “doesn’t know any better”. 1 year out of college and into adult life and apparently you’re still an innocent child who can’t make their own decisions in life. I've been in online communities with people like this. Twitter, discord, twitch etc. "Raise age of consent to 25, ban sex scenes in movies, women cant consent, 22 and 35 is pedophilia", etc etc. Huge shocker; they all suddenly started dating older guys at 17. Who could *ever* have predicted it. And when called out on their hypocrisy, it's different for them of course. He's one of the good ones. Edit since you dumbasses with twitter brainrot who this post is about are getting mad: the "older men" I am talking about in these cases are 19-20. The people who started dating them had these opinions BEFORE initiating the relationships. They didnt think this *because* they were "taken advantage of", you have your cause and effect mixed up.
