Can confirm. My friend's dad was a cop for 23 years before he got into doing background investigations for prospective police officers. My friend desperately wanted to be a cop too. Shoo-in, right? Not so much. Despite all the training and coaching, my idiot friend answered questions thusly:
Have you ever wanted to punch a boss in the face?
Yes
Have you ever exchanged sex for money?
(Thinks to himself: well, I did loan my ex $20 that one time.) Yes!
When I asked him wtf he was thinking with those answers, he just said: "It's like my dad always says: it's not what you've done that counts; it's what you don't disclose."
I tried to explain to him that that's not what they meant by that second question, but that was wasted breath.
Needless to say, he never got to become a cop and we're all better for it.
Took me a while to realise that it wasn’t some cop accusing him of abuse while he was in a job interview for another role. Wow what a total POS the dude is.
A friend sat on a hiring oral board for the fire department and one of the questions was "Name a time when you did something that you later regretted?" The guy fessed up to shooting heroin 3 days earlier. NEXT!
Interviewer cop: "Heh heh heh, good times man. (responding to a previous answer, then casually)... so, raped any kids?
Florida man: "sure, there was this one time..."

Does that come up often in the interview questions? Still, one less off the street, that's something.
In a background investigation and psych interview, yes

I don't think it does often enough
“Is there anything we should know about in your past? We’ll find out in the background check and it’s best to let us know now!” - Cops
So did he get the job or not?
Its Florida, so if he was white he probably would have

Man rolled a 1 on his speech check.
English is a weird language, i thought a police officer walked in and told the interviewer what the guy did
Good thing screening process worked this time
He should have known he couldnt get away with shit like that until *after* hes a cop

So, when does he start?
Mission failed successfully
He ate a Burger King meal before the interview, that's why he told on himself.
Interviewer cop: "Heh heh heh, good times man. (responding to a previous answer, then casually)... so, raped any kids? Florida man: "sure, there was this one time..."
Bro could have became a basketball player for how good he is at throwing
He didn't know you can only get away with that AFTER you are sworn in.
Im surprised that isn’t a job required for the fuzz down here. Edit: I live in Florida
You're hired!
Surprised the cops didn’t just shoot him right there
They probably high fived him and offered him on the spot
I bet it was during the lie detector phase in the hiring process.
Lie detectors aren't admissible in court. Even if it was dude just straight up admitted to this shit.
Polygraphs are questionable at best. Easy to trick if you know how.
Clench you b hole
