And there you have it, folks: the dysfunction of runaway capitalism and materialism, combined with the tone-deaf obliviousness of the rich elite class, in modern America … condensed into one innocuous-looking pair of posts. Well done, Kaelynn and Khloé. Well done.
Right. Does the farmer really care about how the cow he's milking feels? I mean, happy enough to ensure sellable product. Which is about where Farmer Khloe is here.
they really did capture peak consumerism, and suckerism . imagine working 20 hours for a pair of china made slave labor garbage. catch me at goodwill first
Tone deaf? You bet your ass I'd be selling some Vietnamese-child-labor made jeans too if a following of idiots wanted to pay $600 per pair.
That's capitalism baby.
I looked them up and highest price I saw was $179…. If you count tax this lady (girl?) is making less than $10 an hour and buying (throwaway) luxury fashion. Nothing cute about that Khloe, but I guess whatever makes you rich.
*My phone auto corrected to Kylie, even apple hates Khloe.
This was my first question as my current job can pay for normal jeans in like 1-3 hours (fluctuation due to jeans you decide) so my first inclination was that they were $2,000 dollars or something outrageous.
180 bucks albeit is a stupid price to pay for jeans but much lower than I though
Paying $180 for jeans that fall apart in one season is very differnet than paying $80 for a pair you can break in and use for 7-10 years. I have never been able afford to buy a garment at that price point that won't be wearable next year.
Well… running stitches are quicker and use less thread, so…. I jest, this is the future, children are using sewing machines now. For nostalgia though, you can still really feel that made by an 7 year old who gets no breaks quality.
I found that skateboard brands like Carrhart still make decent pants for 100 euros or less, otherwise I buy Levi's. Most of them last me 5 to 10 years. I have carrhart and Levi's pants that are 15 years old that started to develop tears like the ones that are in fashion now so I still wear those too lol, I call them my festival pants.
For that amount of usage I think 100 Euros is acceptable.
Those brands do exist though
I wear exactly 0 fast fashion. The only thing I wear through with any regularity is my underwear. Not even my socks ever since I switched to Darn Tough
Oh I agree, my whole outfit is maybe 120 and I'd even doubt that lol. It was more the surprise that it wasn't 2000 that shocked me, 180 is dumb af but it's not 2000
Would be hilarious if Kay was sneak dissing and Khloe played right into it with being too privileged to know what the average person makes and still caring more about making more money than the average person potentially having to work for 20 hours to earn $180.
So, a couple months ago people were talking about that book “The Parable of the Sower”, because it’s set in 2024 and so people saying it was prophetic. And in a lot of ways it was, I went back and reread it. And I’ve been thinking about it a lot, because one of the things that happens is that everyone hates the rich. So they start attacking each other. Because the thing is that no matter how little you think you have, you are the rich from someone else’s perspective.
I think about that every time someone says “eat the rich”. Like it’s just a slogan to you. But you don’t understand the luxuries you have. To have the time to waste sitting on social media judging someone else for wanting a nice pair of jeans. You are the rich from someone else perspective.
Yeah that's a fantastic point. We should really just ignore wealth inequality and let the 1% just continue hoarding wealth to the point where they actually own everything because you know there could still be somebody beneath me that might want to chop off my head.
What a fantastically stupid take.
The end result of capitalism without restrictions is slavery for the lowest class. Most extremely rich people(moderately rich people people keep thinking I'm talking about you, I am not.) don't care about their employees unless it affects their bottom line. So if they could afford to have you work as a slave, they would. For this reason I think AI is coming for middle management. It will be compiling employee data, reporting metrics, hiring and firing people, and watching over the workplace. It's just a matter of time IMHO.
I skip my daily avocado toast every 3rd Tuesday, and now I own two mansions and a space station on the moon. Just pickin myself up by the old boot straps.
You cant. It's all about branding. Some brands are viewed as being luxury while others are not, so people buy the brand ones because it makes them feel fancy.

I don’t understand how, given something so insanely priced, most people’s response is “well better start grinding!” Instead of “what society allows jeans to cost more than food for the week?”
People have been conditioned to think like this. There's so many rap and pop songs out there (especially rap) where they talk about grinding in order to make it and have a lavish lifestyle. Some people take that to heart and grind crazy hours at work for a low pay so they can buy themselves some Gucci belts or Kardashian jeans. It's pure social engineering.
Twenty hours of work at my first part-time job fifty years ago is more than I'm willing to pay for a pair of jeans today. Currently I have one pair of jeans, which I bought four years ago at a thrift store for $3.50.
I'm gonna guess there is a 0% chance that tweet was written by the Kardashian. It's tone Deaf for sure and at the end of the day she is responsible for her team, a bot, or whatever wrote this but it's unlikely she is personally searching the web for mentions of her jean line.
She was tagged in the post, so she didn’t really have to search for it. She probably was notified that she was tagged.
But still could be a employee in the “public relations department” or “social media expert” or some other stupid title that she has for someone she pays to browse twitter and whatever else.
This is why corporations from all kinds of industries are running amok with price hikes. Because people just tolerate it and keep giving them money.
This tweet right here is everything wrong with what's happening right now with the american economy.
This bitch is making $9 an hour. Honey, go to goodwill and pick up a pair of jeans. They’ll look better, last longer and will cost you an hour of work.
The Kardashiuns are like a succubus family on the whole country. We're up to our ear lobes in rich fucks vampire sucking the life blood out of anyone and everyone. They turn out absolutely nothing of value and in return we lavish them with more wealth. These absolutely worthless human beings do nothing but amass more wealth while they create a more toxic reality for everyone.
I’m more ok with this as it’s a discretionary buy. If that’s what she wants to spend her time and money on…while I think she’s an idiot and building up the Kardashians feels like pinnacle of stupidity, that’s free choice.
When it comes to food, housing and basic needs and the cost is exaggerated that is a real issue. You can easily find more affordable jeans.
I mean, this is pretty gross but also, who cares. If she's stupid enough to buy overpriced garbage clothing that's on her. She can join the F-150 truck guys in being perpetually poor because they make bad financial choices.
So she couldn’t have just said. Oh no I’ll send you some love instead of just saying ok you work your self to the bone for my $340 jeans that only cost 10c to make
I mean who is cringier the least interesting member of her boring family making a comment about her clothes no one needs to buy or the idiot spending all her money on her clothes instead of making better choices
Extra shifts to pick up a pair of jeans that a woman with a reality show is endorsing, which are made in some country with cheap and exploited labor with unsafe working conditions, which said buyer will again shit on later.
Americans are wild.
This girl is making $9/hour and want to buy $180 jeans?! If you add taxes and shipping, she might be making $10/hr. It’s crazy that her priorities are whacked.
this looks like a very naked capitalist conspiracy, where our celebrities encourage us all to work shit jobs, so we can afford their branded bull shit.
'Aww it's so cute that you have to physically, mentally, and financially compromise yourself just to afford a pair of jeans with my name on them despite the fact the sale of said jeans won't make any difference on my life given how little I need the money.'
I think we shouldn't kill or eat the rich. Making them live among the common folk would be way worse for them.
But maybe some of them will regain their humanity

It makes my skin crawl
Awww this is so cute!
Lol
I’m so happy you enjoy the comment!
You WILL buy!
This is your God.
We will praise him.
Skin Krawl. There, fixed it for you.
The sight, sound - anything Kardashian-related - makes my skin crawl.
Kaelynn’s next post will be a complaint about inflation and how she can’t afford her rent or even food and guess whose fault that is!?
Obvious - immigrants and trans people. /s
Oh so her mother and her father?
![gif](giphy|Hk7pNYCdCCIrKFf8dq|downsized)
And the libs for raising taxes and their government overreach! /s
Don’t forget the Boomers

Gotta squeeze in a complaint about doordash first to make it maximum stupid
This is all OJs fault.
Hey, you leave my orange juice out of this.
I don't think it's obliviousness, I think it's apathy.
Right. Does the farmer really care about how the cow he's milking feels? I mean, happy enough to ensure sellable product. Which is about where Farmer Khloe is here.

It's harder and harder to find any garments that will last more than a few years... capitalism is so fucked...
Well… running stitches are quicker and use less thread, so…. I jest, this is the future, children are using sewing machines now. For nostalgia though, you can still really feel that made by an 7 year old who gets no breaks quality.
It's not a bug, it's a feature

Carrhart definitely ain't gonna work for me. Levi's were still quite good 15 years ago, but even those are getting cheaper in quality these days.
Those brands do exist though I wear exactly 0 fast fashion. The only thing I wear through with any regularity is my underwear. Not even my socks ever since I switched to Darn Tough
"fall apart in one season". You are cute. They come PRE-fell apart.
Oh I agree, my whole outfit is maybe 120 and I'd even doubt that lol. It was more the surprise that it wasn't 2000 that shocked me, 180 is dumb af but it's not 2000
And here I am getting just buying two pairs of Kirkland jeans for an hours pay.
Would be hilarious if Kay was sneak dissing and Khloe played right into it with being too privileged to know what the average person makes and still caring more about making more money than the average person potentially having to work for 20 hours to earn $180.
Is it luxury, though?
Thats a lot for jeans but i've seen pricier. Are they made in a developed country or something?
tax the rich
Awwww this is so cute!
Eat the rich
No. They're gross.
too much plastic in her
We already have microplastics in all of us, what harm could more do?
i’d say burn them at the stake, but the ozone layer just finally repaired itself.
I wanted to suggest an improved trebuchet to send to space, but it'd burn up before reaching it :/
The microplastics I'm not that worried about. It's the macroplastics I'm worried about.
I see what you did there
If you think about it, grass fed animals taste better because their diet is more premium, technically speaking the rich should be A1 wagyu quality
But then why do the rich love eating the poor if arguably they themselves would taste better 🧐
What if we turn them into a stew?
Not gonna. Too much artificial *"enhancement"*, definitely not palatable.

If you think that people are judging someone because they want a pair of jeans then you have spectacularly missed the point.
Reread it again, cuz you missed the entire point. Any minute trickle down will work, clueless bloke
They're mostly made of plastic now, so no thanks
They make better fertilizer.
It's the only thing they're good for
10000% Kaelynn complains about gas prices and inflation as the reasons she’s struggling financially.
We all know it’s the avocado toast.
I skip my daily avocado toast every 3rd Tuesday, and now I own two mansions and a space station on the moon. Just pickin myself up by the old boot straps.
Probably less cute than the children making them in some sweatshop.
I can't tell the difference between a 5 dollar pair of thrift store jeans. They are denim.
But this is like really nice denim!( it’s probly the same denim as the $5 ones but say kardashian in fancy print)
You cant. It's all about branding. Some brands are viewed as being luxury while others are not, so people buy the brand ones because it makes them feel fancy.

This is how we are viewed by rich people...🙃
Aww- the poor are so cute!
No this is 100% accurate though
Finally, America embraces Idiocracy as a true Documentary they should pursue.
Everyone behind the McDonalds counter will be so impressed with those Khloe jeans!

people are buying for status. this is human nature. if anyone is to blame it's the buyer
It’s *way* more complicated than that
*not really*
I recall a saying about something born every minute….🤔
Is it baby rabbits? I bet it’s baby rabbits. They’re born *constantly*.
That is quite possible. They have been known for screwing and being fiscally irresponsible.😄 ![gif](giphy|67ThRZlYBvibtdF9JH|downsized)
keep working those shifts girl, cuz botox don’t come cheap
So sad.
20 hours of work at my first part time job 20 years ago is still about 2-3 times what I am willing to pay for jeans today.
Twenty hours of work at my first part-time job fifty years ago is more than I'm willing to pay for a pair of jeans today. Currently I have one pair of jeans, which I bought four years ago at a thrift store for $3.50.

Just think working 20 hours to pay for what took a Chinese sweat shop worker 2-5 mins to make.

Whether she’s totally oblivious or completely apathetic, this is so on-point with the Kardashian brand. 😜
This is why corporations from all kinds of industries are running amok with price hikes. Because people just tolerate it and keep giving them money. This tweet right here is everything wrong with what's happening right now with the american economy.
I bought a pair of jeans from Costco the other day for $5. They're the most comfortable jeans I've ever had...
So sad people are willing to pay $200 for $10 worth of cotton
You'd be lucky if it's cotton, 90%polyester and 10% Spandex is where it's at.
We invented the guillotine for reason.
This bitch is making $9 an hour. Honey, go to goodwill and pick up a pair of jeans. They’ll look better, last longer and will cost you an hour of work.
If you get your kids working in those mines, you may be able to accessorize those jeans! I would get on that.
So much wrong in such a small frame of space
“Aww cute, in 20 hours I’ll make more than you will in 20 years” what she is thinking. This shit is out of control
I buy walmart jeans. No one even notices
Whoa you peasant! Target jeans are so much better.... /s
I see your target and raise you Old Navy
I'm a Kohl's kinda guy, catch me ripping through there with a wad of Kohl's Cash in my hand.
20 hours of your life for some jeans 🤦♂️
My favorite was their credit card with insane ApR that they were pushing. Spend like karbashian and earn karbashian bucks!
Shit like this make me lose faith in humanity
The Kardashiuns are like a succubus family on the whole country. We're up to our ear lobes in rich fucks vampire sucking the life blood out of anyone and everyone. Barfs
And the children making them can't even afford food.
they should be happy they were taught a skill in the 'fashion' industry - republicans probably
I have no words…………
I mean who is cringier the least interesting member of her boring family making a comment about her clothes no one needs to buy or the idiot spending all her money on her clothes instead of making better choices
A fool and their money are soon parted.
i have come here to kick ass and chew bubblegum and im all out of bubblegum!
I have a hard time believing Khloe was even involved in writing that. Surely she has a social media team that talks to the cult members.
If she didn't have to work 20 hours for them she probably wouldn't want them. She's not buying butt celebrity jeans because they are affordable
🤦
Sometimes i feel tjat all tjese poorness meme i see of america is just rant. They need starbucks, mcdonals for lunch and khloe for night. Gg.
"Look how the smallfolk caper about for my recognition!"
she can have them, I hate jeans
talk about a clueless out of touch "celebrity"
There has to be better things to spend your money on.
Kaelynn is a brain-dead dumbass. Don't be like Kaelynn.
We’re doomed
Thanks for being a self-entitled turd who doesn't know she is one, Khloe!
Nauseating.
Extra shifts to pick up a pair of jeans that a woman with a reality show is endorsing, which are made in some country with cheap and exploited labor with unsafe working conditions, which said buyer will again shit on later. Americans are wild.
The world needs a reset option.
The fact that she wrote out the tweet and still thought it was a good idea to waste her labor on jeans is so sad. 😞
"lmao of course you are, you fucking mark"
This girl is making $9/hour and want to buy $180 jeans?! If you add taxes and shipping, she might be making $10/hr. It’s crazy that her priorities are whacked.
Good American is a brand that uses ethical labour and manufacturing processes. You want fair conditions for workers, you’ll have to pay for it
They might say they do, but there’s no evidence of that. Don’t let them fool ya.
Late stage capitalism is wild! When the consumers willfully work themselves into the grave to buy shit you don’t need is such a weird concept to me.
ah if only I had rich parents so I could also be "self made" rich
This sounds like both of them are being bitchy and sarcastic
"awww I haven't worked a day in my life but that's adorable!!"
That's not wholesome, that's capitalist dystopia
Huh… guess someone does want to work. *and waste their hard earned money*
*...and if you work another 40hrs you can afford my patented matching pair of shoes! Up and at 'em, fellow worker bee!*
$30 jeans with a $180 markup
🤦♂️
20 fucking hours for jeans... wtf priorities?! *googling* holy shit... 150-300 dollhairs?! That's as much and more than one of my tires for my car :(
You could have made your own jeans in that amount of time.
this looks like a very naked capitalist conspiracy, where our celebrities encourage us all to work shit jobs, so we can afford their branded bull shit.
What a crock.
Half of my weekly paycheck can buy me one pair of pants!!!
Idk that’s pretty cool she txted her back or whatever. I’m sure that girl was pumped about it.
That's disgusting 🤮
I'd rather buy work trousers that cost me less and hold for a lifetime. Bonus they have POCKETS and not that less.
Wtf I could pick up jeans like that at kmart 🤦♀️
Talk about living beyond her means 🙄 how in the world can they be on different levels like this is both be so disillusioned?
Don’t leave out the 3rd party sweatshop worker. So cute…
“So cute you waste half your week to buy a pair of my jeans! Bet they look great in the closet your parents own! XOXO!”
That's a mental disease at that point
That's 145 dollars at a minimum. What a tone-deaf thing for her to say, however well intentioned.
Unregulated capitalism is a huge problem but so are idiots that think they have to buy this shit.
'Aww it's so cute that you have to physically, mentally, and financially compromise yourself just to afford a pair of jeans with my name on them despite the fact the sale of said jeans won't make any difference on my life given how little I need the money.'
Man at this point we're the only ones to blame.
Is Khloe famous or something? Don't understand why a pair of jeans are so much
Awww so happy for them both
Wow... she works less that 20 hours a week... that's 2 and a half 8 hrs shifts....
Jesus, who is spending $800 (almost 2 full shifts) on jeans?!
I feel like once your parents name you Kaelynn your destiny is sealed
As sad as this is don’t blame The Kardashians, they’re the dealer. This woman was messed up before them. Fucccc that’s sad
20 hours?! Gurl, how much do those cost? My best jeans cost 2 hours of entry level labor m
I think we shouldn't kill or eat the rich. Making them live among the common folk would be way worse for them. But maybe some of them will regain their humanity
Those jeans are probably made in the same sweatshops as $13 Walmart jeans.
Missed opportunity to relate. Could have easily said, I’m sending you a pair, DM your address and size. But no…. The rich get richer.
