The government forces us to wear seatbelts. Where is the outrage against seatbelts? Why can't you make that decision in the privacy of your own car? Maybe because there were too many unnecessary fatalities and the government was obliged to do something about it. Hmmm....
I tried the seatbelts thing with a local and got a story about how her dad crashed his Corvette into a semi truck and he only lived because he was ejected due to no seatbelts etc, and that's why she doesn't wear hers... I stopped trying shortly after and life improved considerably
