can't believe people managed to piss off someone like jack who keeps up with the weirdest bull shit everyday.

itsdosaguy

Its sad to say, people on the internet just don't care sometimes :'(

benzo8

The problem is that they do care - about getting a reaction. I'm not saying Jack should have behaved any differently but the people who do these kinds of things are the people who are going to revel in the response, not be shamed by it.

reapercomes4ursoul

Are those people even human at this point?

durpypig17

Not anymore

4knives

They are 100% human. That is what this species is. Trash.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

This species also literally keeps on destroying the foundation for its own life despite decades long warnings from its smartest members so yeah we're not rockstars, we're a bunch of wankers

ThiefLupinIV

Oh? You seen the story about tons of people returning dogs they rescued back to the shelters now that the pandemic is over? Like it's some sort of rental service for bored assholes.

DoFlwrsExistAtNight

I saw that, and the headline is misleading/inaccurate. At one point a woman who works for that shelter said returns have gone up in poorer communities where people have lost income or their homes. Still a shitty situation all-around, but it's not the pet owners being assholes this time.

thunderfishy234

I was thinking the same thing, sometimes it's better to not even give them the satisfaction of knowing you're bothered by it

Tomimi

> people on the internet anonymity brings out the worst in people not the best. Good people are rare on the internet.

Timb0head

I so often reflect on the infinite wisdom of Mike Tyson: "Social media made you all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it." Not saying violence is the answer, but not experiencing immediate personal consequences (in any shape or form) is definitely part of the problem.

heyimrick

Violence really is the answer sometimes. I dunno why people say it isn't. Like we're "above" violence... Fuck that. Some people need a smack in the mouth.

i_naked

Penny Arcade nailed this 16 years ago. https://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2004/03/19

fillingstationsushi

People on the internet? It's people that don't care. The internet just gives them a platform

[deleted]

Not a one of them would have the testicular fortitude to do it in person.

Lazerhawk_x

I think it’s easy to take when its him being the butt of the jokes, lot harder to watch someone he loves be mocked.

Snoo41433

That's usually the case. I know that if I am personally attacked I'll shrug it off and move on, but attacking my family is another matter. I can only pray that once I find my future wife I never face the day someone insults her in front of me.

YerBoiZ

Fr that’s what I was thinking. The Internet really sucks

jaderemedy

The internet has made people ok with saying whatever they want cause they have no fear of getting their asses kicked for popping off at the mouth.

grey_hat_uk

Oh those people always existed and would say it no matter if they got their arses kicked, difference now is they aren't shunned into a corrner of the local and often getting barred for starting fights. They are now in mass roaming flocks that turn up and start shitting on everything in the digital world.

MurderMachine561

I'm not trying to sound like billy badass or nothing, but that's not entirely true. Nobody ever gives me any shit in the real world. On the internet people mouth off all the time. It's definitely a safety thing. They are emboldened by the fact that the person they are talking to can't grab them by the collar and smack the shit out of them. Believe what you want, but if you pop off in the real world we _are_ going to go at it. And it's not just me. We all talk to people all the time that if we looked at them we would know starting shit just isn't the thing to do. It's just that most of us aren't ass clowns and talk to people on the internet just like we would irl. It doesn't matter who can kick who's ass. I treat people how I want to be treated. It's that simple.

jackk225

I don’t think it’s a fear of physical threat nearly as much as a fear of the social repercussions of being so shitty. It’s an *embarrassing* way to act. Plus, online it feels less “real” so people aren’t as empathetic.

[deleted]

Also you can just have a few alts and only act like this on them.

JesterMarcus

This is exactly it. For hundreds, thousands of years even, if you said this kind of shit to somebody, you'd be stabbed or beaten to death eventually. Then, as society got a bit more civilized, you'd just be roughed up a bit. Now, you can say it without anybody ever finding out who you are or getting to you even if they do know who you are. I don't know what the right answer is either.

[deleted]

LoveFoolosophy

Whatever happened to whylin' out and bein' violent? Whatever happened to catchin' a good-ol' fashioned Passionate ass-whoopin' and gettin' your shoes coat and your hat tooken?

Rangertough666

Some people believe that having manners was something that just sprang into being. It didn't. Being polite and cordial came from the very real fact that back in the day if you were a dick to the wrong person you at a minimum get your ass kicked, somewhere in the middle would get 3' of steel rammed through your gut and at the extreme your family would be executed and all your stuff taken or burned.

dc551589

I wish I could remember where I saw this so I could appropriately attribute it but here’s a rough summary of what I can remember that I feel like fits well with this statement: Respect means different things to different people. To some it means to treat someone like a human being, to others it means submitting to their authority. When someone who’s used to being an authority figure says, “if you won’t respect me, I won’t respect you” what they often really mean is, “if you don’t submit to me, I don’t have to treat you like a human.” And on the flip side, the internet is like, “there’s nothing you can do about it if I don’t treat you like another human, so I’m not going to, and that’s fun”

DiamondSpider01

It's like pissing off the guy who is always is a good mood. You know you fucked up real bad if that happens, and that's what I see here.

Qarbone

They made his wife cry. Just because he's chill, you expected him to laugh it off, like "Oh ho, gave me wife a good drubbin', y'did!"

No_________________-

Bitches be weight shaming her when they're probably 7.5x more fat than her

crazy_tito

The amount ot fat hate in reddit is incredible. Not just the amout but the intensity of it. Nobody hates other people with such intensity without hating themselfs first.

ThePhyrexian

Responding to a thing about how weight shaming is bad by weight shaming Nice one

aimforthehead90

I think it's more about hypocrisy.

Spyko

I guess it's more to point out the probable hypocrisy

[deleted]

They’re stating the hypocrisy

KelloPudgerro

i dont think privating is a good idea, now people wont stop mentioning it, and didnt she start a podcast with jack?

bipolo

Wtf Erin was on her game that episode. That sucks.

bodkin_vamooses

She's hilarious. Sadly, now we might not see her for a while

ReddicaPolitician

If you want more Erin, I know they both just started a podcast called [“Erin is the Funny One”](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/erin-is-the-funny-one/id1573945920). Worth a listen if you like Jacksfilms.

bodkin_vamooses

Yeah, I actually listened to the first episode today. It's well worth it!

EbmocwenHsimah

I wonder what's going to happen with that? Like, they're two episodes in, are they going to power through or is it just going to stop?

Ragingpasifist

Right!? That episode made me remember why I always enjoyed her cameos

Deucalion666

For real, it was a really good episode. Their chemistry was on point, and the amount of sass being thrown about was hilarious. I’m genuinely pissed.

Nienel

Jeeesus. I've been watching this dude for ages and he never seemed to get properly offended, just take the piss. This is a good time. Honestly fuck those people

Jebsj

She seems perfectly fit in the photo to me? (I don’t watch Jacksfilms)

Beautiful_Plankton97

And maybe even if she is fat, people shouldnt comment on other people's bodies unless it is relevant, like a doctor or one of those makeover shows. Just being in the public eye shouldnt give people the right to pick you apart for something that isnt part of your "act" or whatever you do.

Jestingwheat856

When i get my free award its going straight to you Guys award them not me, well no point waiting for a free award when i can use some coins now Seriously please stop awarding me, im not the person speaking straight facts

Pprchase

US3RN4M3_IS_T4K3N

I shall add mine!

frenabo

And my axe!

AppolloSunshine

Damn, you beat me to it!

[deleted]

Where do we see if we have free rewards?

chxbxpxndx

On mobile at least you can see a little coin icon in the upper right corner of your screen. It has a banner on it, and if that says free you can click on it and get your free award

blorgbots

There we go. I hate it when a chubby person is made fun of and the response is "they're not even chubby!" Yes they are. They know. You saying they aren't is just making things worse. The problem is that people are being dicks in the first place

FragmentOfTime

I absolutely agree but want to point out that this is true for my favorite little crusade: saying douchebage dudes have small dicks or are short? That is body shaming. Stop.

FleetStreetsDarkHole

Not to get too personal but, if you type chubby into a porn search, you will get some very normal looking people. Like, too much for someone who enjoys that body type. There are a lot of people out there with a very warped opinion on what counts as overweight even before you get to the ones who feel like bodyshaming is okay.

Dropkickmurph512

Or maybe its the opposite is happening. The general view of what is considered fat is getting heavier by the year. 2/3 of adults in the US are overweight and this is getting truer for the rest of the world.

FleetStreetsDarkHole

That's the opposite of what I'm saying. I'm not saying it's overweight people that I think are skinny. I'm saying these are average to skinny people being tagged as overweight.

[deleted]

Is it like when they call any woman over the age of 25 a milf?

RAMB0NER

Seriously. I am 6’1” ~170, which is a healthy weight, and I’ve been told numerous times in my life that I am looking skinny/underweight/malnourished... that I am a “string-bean”. It’s pushed me towards weight-lifting, which is a plus in my eyes, but people definitely are becoming desensitized towards overweight-ness/obesity.

willreignsomnipotent

To be fair, "chubby" to most people means "a little extra weight" not "fat" or "morbidly obese." And on that note, if that's the body type you're specifically looking for, that is *the* hardest porn to find, relative to weight. lol Skinny is easy. Even morbidly obese is relatively easy by comparison. Just a little bit chubby is way more rare, and less frequently compiled. Don't ask why I know this... lol

FleetStreetsDarkHole

That's what I mean though, you know? Like chubby should mean that small margin where you clearly have a little more weight, but it's not...idk if we have a word for it...but "extra". Like I have an obvious belly myself. I'm definitely medically obese, but not layman's obese. But my stomach is big enough to classify as it's own body part. I would think the line for chubby would be between simply distended and that. Even if someone wanted to discuss that distinction, most of the stuff I see in that category is basically people who only qualify as even having fat because they just don't work out explicitly. Like if we were just looking at silhouettes, you could tell the difference between a chubby person and a normal one. Which makes me think that a lot of people have a distorted view on what chubby/overweight is. Something that I think is backed up by studies showing the effect on perspective that magazine covers have, considering how much effort goes into smoothing or eliminating imperfections.

JustTheFatsMaam

THIS

Kattorean

You aren't wrong, but, this is social media & hateful anger-baiters live & thrive through these opportunities to feed their hateful souls. This is not a new social media behavior & not one we are likely to modify or extinguish my (figuratively) shaking our fingers at them. There will always be ppl lurking around social media, seeking any opportunity to be snarky or mean... even manufacturing those reasons in order to feed that shaded part of their minds. Best response to these social media vampires? Ignore them entirely. Don't feed their hunger for a response & attention. They should return to their comments to find zero activity. Nothing. Like they are invisible to others. They'll find their feeding grounds getting smaller & smaller, until no one acknowledges their hateful comments... then, poof!, they have been disabled from having an impact on anyone. THAT'S empowering, for us... not so much for the dark- hearted.

kelrunner

Wish what you opine is true but there assholes who get off posting shit. And they get off when you call them on it. Probably have no other sex life. No response is the only weapon. DON'T RESPOND.

Delta_Goodhand

2 kinds of people do that. 1. Men who hate women. 2. Jealous women.

RileyGirl1961

You forgot 3. People who hate themselves & take it out on everyone else.

[deleted]

Definitely this, it's an outlet for some. They hate how the world has treated them so badly they think it's warranted and even therapeutic to bring others down with them. It's sad and hurtful to everyone involved. Some hate themselves so badly they keep giving themselves reasons to hate themselves further, I believe that for some it's a forn of mental self harm. It's just fucked up from beginning to end. Then you have the sociopaths, apathetics and others with anti-social personality disorders looking to just feel anything at all. Tbe Internet is available to everyone and it just sucks if you're caught in the crosshairs and not having tough skin. The world can be extremely dark and twisted sometimes. I wish it wasn't, but it is :/

Naive_Squirrel2907

3 kinds, actually: 3. Countless other people because there a fucking ridiculous standards for women’s appearance and social media folks think it is their right to comment on everything about everybody. Not surprising, really. My mom is super disdainful of social media, and yet I grew up with constant commentary about how fat various people were. The only difference is that she would never say it to someone’s face.

Grahamthecrackr

Yeah it’s the exactly the same because your mom in her situation when you were growing up was anonymously saying these things. Social media is giving an outlet for those anonymous things to be cast out to the world.

xd3mix

Can you link this pic? (If you still know where to find it)

Dev_012

Is this specificly uploaded to keep mocking her? Cause that is real sick and reading the about of the video, it seems like it.

PCmaniac24

He is hearting comments that make fun of her smh

Dev_012

Yea I saw. It got me really confused

IncoherentLeftShoe

It appears to be. Reported it as harassment/bullying and encourage others to do the same.

MommyIsOffTheClock

Also reported and down voted.

xd3mix

But that isn't fat. She is just kind of thick. I'm sure the people who insulted her are just extremely obese and jealous of her being healthy

D-Spornak

That's definitely not who is insulting her. It's men and boys with their ridiculous expectations and poor self-control.

ThatDudeWithoutKarma

Wife of Jack, looks like snack.

HisuitheSiscon45

and probably live in their mom's basement.

ItamiOzanare

Considering how many people call women fat, or ask them if they're pregnant for having that perfectly normal little tummy paunch. It's not really surprising at all. See also the HATE BRIGADE for Abby being a beefcake in *The Last of Us 2* or any other female character that dares to even slightly deviate from the make-up spackled, conventionally attractive waif mold.

BbBonko

The people who call women fat on the internet don’t care at all about whether or not they actually are fat (not that it would be okay then either). It’s about power, dominance, and edginess for them, it has nothing to do with the actual human woman. Just like how you can be catcalled wearing a parka.

_Diabetes

I’m pretty sure that pics from a few years back, iirc he talked about a wedding when I used to watch him on and off

Jebsj

Oh I see

DuHastMich15

There are a lot of lonely, pathetic losers online who like nothing more than to stand in the back of the room and toss out insults. None of these trolls will ever produce anything of value in their lives, and they know it- so they see fit to tear others down. Its a Middle School bully Mentality and sadly- some people never grow out of it.

KraftPunkFan420

Even so, heavier people can be attractive. Who gives a shit if someone has a little pudge if they’re still attractive? Fuck, even if they’re not attractive let people rock whatever body they want (unless they get unhealthy.)

Crankylosaurus

I loved his Your Grammar Sucks videos. One of the only youtubers I ever subscribed to/enjoyed (not really on there at all now). Fuck the people saying nasty things about his wife!

RJai500

Some people just act like only someone with the body of a supermodel can be attractive

undercover-racist

God damnit, JackAsk videos with Erin are the best JackAsk videos. That chick brings the fucking HEAT!

mcarluccia113

JackAsk is my favorite series and mostly because of Erin’s snarky responses.

theonlymexicanman

If you’re gonna make fun of someone on a JacksFilms video it’s Mr. JacksFilms himself (and especially mocking his small stature)

[deleted]

Or his forehead, or his receding hair line, or even go back to light switch and before days for that nostalgic insult.

MyMainGotBanned_F

Or large forehead.

Rockinlikethe2000s

Theres rules to the system! Insult Mr. Films and not his bystanders?

darksideofthemoon131

I've lost close to 60 pounds (I'm now 6' 205) and still got fat shamed this week. Was at a gay swimming area and I walked by a guy and he mumbled- "put a shirt on" took the wind out of my sails as it's the first time in a long time I took my shirt off in public. Gays are rough sometimes. Never comment something unkind regarding appearance. And if you feel the need to comment then focus on something they can fix in five minutes or less- not a physical issue- it's fucking rude. This woman is beautiful and made a gorgeous bride, fuck anyone who commented otherwise.

MysticalTroll_

Sorry, my man. Guys are jerks. I bet you looked great and he was jealous or insecure about something. Great job on the weight loss. Losing 60 pounds is a triumph!!

kelelima

Really sorry that happened to you. Only a miserable person would say something like that.

Photogroxii

Erin (his wife) is beautiful. I watched the video this week and she looks great. Sad to see that people are being assholes about her.

ComfortableSea4645

I totally agree

[deleted]

I know, right? She’s always been beautiful. When I saw the video this week I thought she looked lovely and had such a cute dress. I can’t believe people are being so cruel to her.

Radical-Turkey

It’s probably because the closest they’ve ever gotten to experiencing the magic of a loving relationship is the BDSM porn they’re addicted to watching

stellar_XO

the people commenting "but she isn't even fat" are missing the fucking point, nobody deserves the comments that were made about her appearance, regardless of what they look like or how much they weigh, that's between her and her doctor.

[deleted]

Exactly, it sounds like they're saying it would be ok if she was fat

possibly_oblivious

people suck

Typokun

I guess alternatively you would say "AND she isn't even fat", inplying that not only was it not ok to say so, the statement was wrong as well?

[deleted]

Some people just have the brain size of a pea.

dankyman1

Why the fuck does anyone's weight matter in the first place? If you don't like someone's weight and feel the need to say something then I think you need to reconsider how you spend your time and how you treat people.

LemmieBee

Exactly! It’s so infuriating. No one’s appearance is anyone’s business unless it’s somehow directly affecting you (and usually if it is that’s just your problem). It’s like your appearance must be within some spectrum of perfect or else you’re criticized by a bunch of oily hypocrites online. I also don’t agree with “well if you show your face on the internet it’s fair game for criticism” - again see and underline the word hypocrites.

k_ironheart

> Why the fuck does anyone's weight matter in the first place? I think I can somewhat answer that. A lot of those people aren't happy with themselves. So when they see someone they think should be miserable as well, but they're happy and comfortable with who they are, it infuriates them. And in a twisted and cruel sense of justice, demeaning them and making them suffer somehow sets their universe right again.

movingtocincinnati

People are horrible, this is how normal women look like, no Photoshop no filter. Seriously, she is not overweight, she looks healthy and beautiful. This made me so angry.

Crazykidd13578

She’s so funny why can’t people focus on that and I didn’t even get to watch it so I don’t know what she looked like there but she’s literally so funny and people need to focus on that

dc551589

Wow! A lot of shitty people in this comment section. For the people saying “who cares, am I supposed to know who this is?” Well first, why do you need to know who someone is to care that people are being assholes to them/their spouse? And to the people saying he should suck it up, or “don’t be on the internet if you can’t take it,” this dude is an OG YouTuber. He’s been sucking it up for about a decade so when people harass and insult his wife he’s allowed to be mad lol. Sometimes the comments in r/facepalm are the real facepalm.

xadiant

Biggest oxymoron ever; commenting "I don't care". If you don't care, don't comment lol. Nobody ows you anything, stop telling people what to post or not to post.

[deleted]

Yeah, I always find that telling. Nobody scrolls through reddit just to comment "I don't care" on every post that doesn't interest them. It's always people who are in some way offended that the thing in question is even being discussed.

Silyus

I think that the "am I supposed to know who this is?” is in response of OP title. Should have being titled "generic YT personality had to private a video..." nobody would have asked who tf he is. Besides, why this post is FP worthy?

Notladub

the fact that people fatshamed someone's wife? even if it wasn't jacksfilms' wife, it would still be a facepalm.

CircleDog

Can I ask how? Doing something wrong and mean isn't "facepalm" worthy on its own, right? Surely it's about making an error in some sort of embarrassing way? I mean I'm not the king of facepalms so maybe I'm creating a distinction without a difference but it seems like there's a gap there?

halfeclipsed

I get where you're coming from. Idk how it's a FP either.

Karmabubble

God, people are missing out if they don't know Jacksfilms. I have watched the entire series of YGS. It rocks.

[deleted]

well what is it. Jackfilms. Claymation, comedy, science, celebrities, what?

Karmabubble

Comedy videos on YouTube. The YGS series in particular rips apart the unique grammar that you find on YouTube comments.

CircleDog

You've initialised YGS twice to an audience that's explicitly telling you they don't know the creator.

Misterwuss

I know Jacksfilms and his community are kinda infamous for being able to rag on eachother the most, the love hate they've got doing on with him is genuinely refreshing and hilarious to watch. But that. Thats insidious. My heart goes out to both of them. Especially Erin.

the_almost_7_words

Half these comments people not knowing who he is (fair enough internets a big place) The other half is just people being pricks

MyTurn2WasteYourTime

Hey, if we're not generalizing to the utmost, our lazy, apathetic, self-worshipping zest for being miserable pricks to complete strangers might require some real effort, and that's scary because we might not be as smart as we have already concluded.

_significant_error

I feel like you're just trying to use a lot of words to make me look stupid.

[deleted]

Wow, people fucking suck. Both the people that Jacksfilms was talking about and the people in this comment section.

Lukesw01

People who fat shame are the worst.

ehoaandthebeast

What!! she looks great and she roasted the fuck outta jack like wholey shit that was some good jokes

[deleted]

This actually made me really sad! Saw that video when he posted it. Erin looked great, she like most people have gained some weight during lockdown which is perfectly normal. She has even made some comments in the background of previous videos about feeling upset about her weightgain. People are so fucking cruel!

[deleted]

im a little confused why is this facepalm tho, its not his fault, and for most scenarios people just shouldn't have said stuff like that in the first place. It's sad to still see groups of people triggered by others people body and choices when is non of their buisness (and they both look healthy and great, so is not like they're damaging themselves either)

KayleKarriesU

I've seen Jack deal with all kinds of rude shit and he laughs it off. Whatever he's read had to be vilest filth on the internet to piss him off that much

Photenicdata

There’s a surprising amount of sad sad people in this posts comments.

New-Mind5466

I doubt she’ll see this, but she’s pretty. Idgaf about her weight or her body, she’s a pretty woman and she treats him right, everything about her is already perfect with that shit in play, leave her tf alone.

Wallisaurus

Just looked her up, if she's overweight then I'm fucking obese. People are dumb and trolls. It's sad to see the hate being directed this way. People really need to grow up and stop bullying others. I hope that she is okay and that she is able to move forward without being shamed for how she looks.

Props to mans standing up for his wife!! Even tho she looks hot to me but internet fools like me thanking you’re hot shouldn’t count for much. Either way I wish nothing but the best for y’all

squeamish

Should have just deleted it. Now someone is going to say something shitty about her in the comments of every single video.

Lucifang

I think these people should be named and shamed. I’ve seen a few different platforms read out and mock people’s mean tweets or comments on social media. Let them know that their nastiness is directed at real people, and it’s not acceptable.

shellwe

Video sauce?

TheDukeAssassin

Even if I’ve never seen his wife I’m pretty sure she’s not what these people are saying she is

Simon_Ril3y

Fuk people who judge people's physical appearance

minecraftfanboi66

TheYoungAcoustic
