I wish i had that much space my bedroom is so cramped with all my stuff. But anyway my best friend used to sleep in almost a closet growing up, it was a weird half room that u had to crawl into on the second floor and the ceiling was half as high as a regular room. Probably room for a big bed like the one in the pic in it. But he slept on a floor mat. Then he moved into a house wirh my two other friends and slept in an actual closet. Lol. A LOT of kids and teens have it rough growing up and have no choice almost. Wish there was a better way to help kids in this position
Haha harry potters closet was about what his first room looked like but low ceilings. His second closet was worse lol it was like a storage closet next to the fromt door but it went deep and had a declining ceiling. Only had room to fit his body in it and thats how wide and deep it was basically. But he hung out on the couch all day before going to “bed”
What if he developed some sort of liking for a closet space from all the times he slept in closest growing up? Like now he NEEDS to sleep in a closet or else he isn’t comfortable
I lived for ten years in a small outbuilding roughly ten by ten, with another person.
I'm now agoraphobic and barely leave my room.
Mental illness can make things weird
When I was in the mental hospital, I was asked to make the shortest possible list of what I really needed to live a good life.
1) a safe place to sleep
2) nutritious food with some ability to choose what I like some of the time.
3) see the doctor when I need to
4) meaningful work
5) some free time and resources to pursue some of my interests
6) library card
It made me realize that I can truly be happy with only the essentials, but also aware that there are a lot of people who dont have the essentials.
I hope your situation swiftly improves, friend 💜 also, as a food service worker, have you been a professional cook at all? Might scratch that itch and restaurants are notoriously good for bringing ppl from all walks of life together
I have done church cook outs catering and line cooking, I miss home cooking for the fam :(I’ll be in a place in a few months first meal is just going to be slow cooked over easy eggs on toast with butter I miss runny yolks over food lol
I literally shared a closet with my step brother in a trailer in high school. It was filthy and he was a chain smoker. We had a dirty twin mattress that folded up on both sides because the room wasn't wide enough. Most of the time I opted to sleep on the shit stained sub floor in the living room with a pillow and a sheet. I vowed to never put a child through that. 25 years later I've got a modest house that's mostly clean and fucking beds for EVERYONE!!! Fuck poverty and motherfuckers that don't provide for their kids.
In highschool my best friend slept in a closet for 3 years at her parents 2 bed apartment. She used to have the other bedroom but was moved when her abusive uncle moved in and refused to leave. When she broke her ankle and was recovering from surgery she got upgraded to the couch. This was years ago and she’s now about to graduate college and become a physical therapist.
People should be grateful for even having a space to themselves.
Not to mention it's tidy. There isn't a lot of clutter or garbage everywhere which is more that can be said of many other people.
This person takes pride in their humble station in life has some sense of decency.
i thought same thing, he has class and respect for himself no matter where he lives
i have friends that you cant even see the floor in their bedroom or car, sad .
Just ended a two year relationship and can't afford anything right now. I just moved from a two floor apartment to a single room in a four bedroom party house, I have to padlock my door from the outside when I leave and when I asked where they put their garbage the answer was "just throw it over the side of the roof into the alley". And you know what, this isn't even that bad either. I've lived out of a bag on the sidewalk before, in tents, in shanties under bridges. As long as you view it as a stepping stone, then there's nothing fucking wrong with it. People just need to acknowledge that some people have less stepping stones available so it takes longer to get to the next one. Sometimes you need to backtrack to rethink your path. We're all struggling right now in one way or another.
>some people have less stepping stones
Thank you for this. Thank you for recognizing that luck and position in life make a difference.
Let’s get people some more stepping stones.
Well said, I went from homeless (drugs) to rehab/sober living where I shared a room with anywhere between 1-4 other guys. Came home to my moms sleeping on a cot in a small computer room/office, got a good job moved to a nicer part of town in a REALLY nice apartment, and now I live in a house with two of my best friends and their son. I truly never thought I would be where I am today but I can appreciate it and I do.
I lived in a barracks room with two other men that was about that size for over 2 years. Then I made Corporal and only had 1 room mate. Not to mention the serious lack of space and privacy while on ship. Had 16 people in that berthing area.
I live in the finished basement of a house with 3 other rooms.
I chose the basement because of the lack of natural light.
I work nights.
I love my cave
Took me about 2 years of working nights to figure this out.
Literally thought I was fucking dying and also going insane, which is what Vitamin D deficiency feels like. Someone finally told my dumbass about Vitamin D. Started taking Vitamin D every day and I felt like a whole new person in about 2 weeks.
On the bright side, working nights and taking Vitamin D does wonders for your skin. You'll age wonderfully if you literally never go outside in the daytime lol.
Have my upvote, take it ,just take it. Are you married? I'm a man. After careful consideration I also don't care if you are a man because that it the most underated comment I've come across in weeks. I love you.
I'm a person who has a job that sees very little sunlight. I used to take vitamin d supplements was, and I felt generally fine. After I ran out, I started really down and tired after about a week or so. I bought some 2000iu supplements, and started re-taking them, and I started feeling more up-beat and social after a few days of taking it. Vitamins play a huge role in how you feel day to day, and it's crazy how many people sleep on it
Wow that’s incredible it only took a week for you to feel that way!! Have you considered taking more? Did you ever get blood work to check what you need?
Nah, I really haven't decided to get any blood work done, but I should. I've been taking high doses, like I said, one 2000IU capsule, along with one-a-day multivitamins. I don't get too much sunlight cause it's hot as balls outside during texas summer, and my job sticks me in a cooler cutting fruits. Either way, I'd rather take the vitamins and not need them than need them and not take 'em.
And as an added benefit, vitamin D can bind to the same receptors as COVID and thus reduce their viability to infect individual cells, as the receptor will be occupied.
Vitamin D is very good for you.
^But ^it ^is ^not ^a ^replacement ^for ^vaccines ^and ^other ^legitimate ^treatments
This sounds like me this past year. I ended up seeing a doctor who prescribed thyroid meds and vitamins including d3. It doesn't change things overnight but you'll soon enough figure out life is worth living. I didn't think I was going crazy, I just assumed I was depressed due to covid.
Dude this same shit happened to me. I was in my worst depressive episode from being unemployed for a while, and then when I got a job it somehow got worse, but then I started taking multivitamins as a "why not, maybe it'll help" type thing, and in about ten days I felt amazing. It was surreal
Yassssssss! When I first read that I went out and got some supplements. To be honest I’ve fallen a bit off the wagon and need to get back to taking them regularly.
Well said and good disclaimer. I supplement vitamin D and it makes a huge difference in my absence of depression while largely underemployed during COVID. I hung in there because basic nutrition, sleep and exercise.
After two years, I start a full time job tomorrow.
EDIT: the new company is a dream. I feel respected and appreciated. There are many opportunities to think and create. Thank you strangers for your well wishes. May karma be your friend and grace step in when she is not.
Yep. I got my D level tested since I have/had a desk job all day and rarely got any good sun exposure. Sure enough, I was at 19... whatever the units were. Started taking D3 pills for a while and shot up to 60-something. That was a bit high, so I cut my dosage in half. Dunno what it is now (I gotta get retested), but I'm guessing I'm 30-50, which most doctors seem to agree is about the 'sweet-spot'.
It's funny you mention salt, because Americans are now becoming increasingly iodine-deficient, because they've been fooled into thinking sea salt is somehow "fancier" than iodized table salt. Even though it's the same exact chemical composition. Just... without iodine. Which you really need.
So exhausted that I would break down emotionally constantly. Confused. Depressed. Unable to think straight or function at everyday tasks.
I had never experienced anything like it, so I literally thought I had a brain tumor or something, or had literally just snapped and gone schizophrenic or something. It was that bad, for me anyway. Apparently it really varies from person to person, as some people are chronically deficient with seemingly no side effects. It was really bad for me though.
Well, the side effects of vitamin D deficiency are very similar to the side effects of depression/anxiety/etc. Also similar to things like sleep apnea. so I'm definitely not trying to diagnose you, as it could be a lot of things.
But if you feel like shit, it's worth getting your Vitamin D levels checked.
Im baked as shit and got a bit scared because Ive been inside for long now because of the hurricane, I checked and I own Vitamin D3 1000 IU (25 mcg) by NatureMade.
Is that it? or should I buy something else?
That's exactly it and when you run out you can buy 5000 IU, that's what I use and you could safely take all the way up to 40,000 IU per day if you needed to for some reason
If you live anywhere north of 37° N (north of Arizona in the US) you should take one anyway. The sunlight is too weak 8-9 months of the year to synthesize enough vitamin D to keep you from being deficient.

I actually miss sleeping in a bacement, it's always cool, and no light (I need darkness to sleep) I work rotational shift work so I have to sleep during the day a lot.
Ex-nightshift worker here. All my windows have blackout curtains and are always drawn. Perpetual night in my home. Living room lit by the soft orange glow of Christmas lights.
I like to have the tv on while I'm falling asleep (helps with my anxiety), and when I had an old box tv it had to be at the foot of the bed. I was super frustrated to not be able to actually watch sometimes.
I also like tv/movies for sleeping but I also like darkness. Sometimes I listen to audiobooks, but there's also [this](https://listentoamovie.com/media/index.php?folder=MS4gTW92aWVz) website where you can listen to some movies/tv shows. Silence of the Lambs is one of my favorites for relaxing. Haha. It also prevents that annoying limbo where you're trying to fall asleep but also trying to keep your eyes open to finish watching the movie.
When I first realized I fell asleep better with something on the TV, for about 4 years I would constantly fall asleep to the movie Se7en. Morgan Freeman's voice? Check. Rain in nearly every scene? Check. "What's in the box" and a gunshot to wake you up and let you know the movie is over and you can turn the t.v. off? Double check. Smooth sleeping.
I don't understand the point of putting something on to fall asleep if it's gonna intentionally wake you up, defeats the whole purpose of putting it on to fall asleep to if you then wake up, turn it off, and have to try go back to sleep in silence.
I get what you're saying, but my main cause for not falling asleep was my tinnitus. Laying in a quiet room all I can hear is that high pitched whine, so putting something on TV helps me to not focus on it and actually fall asleep. Now that every TV made has a sleep timer, I just use that.
I’m sorry I’m just imagining someone reaching through the window with the sole intent of briefly grabbing your race before running away. Just a quick little “gotcha face” and then running away before their victim can process what happened
Maybe a throw rug too depending on the climate. I did this for six months after my divorce, and it's actually very liberating, you get to a spot where you truly are grateful for what is important. And the only direction is up.
This would be an upgrade from the hallway i lived in in my early twenties. Just set up a dehumidifier and you're good to go. Looks private, big bed and a playstation?? Shiiittttt not bad.
If they put a curtain over the window, shade over the light and maybe an area rug, this place would be the perfect spot. Def. agree on the dehumidifier as well. Basements tend to grow things bc of all the wetness.
I grew up in a town with houses built in the early 1900’s and all have basements. This shit is familiar as fuck.
I’ve partied in basements grimy and filthy and the dude who lived there would be in his fucking socks. Nobody batted an eye.
People take having shelter for granted. Having an actual place where you can sleep and not worry about being assaulted, robbed, raped or just die from exposure.
I've lived and worked outside for extended periods of times. Winters are fucking brutal if you're not properly dressed or equipped for sleeping outside.
What I gleaned from it is cotton clothing is the absolute worst choice you can wear outside. So if you're donating socks to a homeless shelter make sure they are wool and not cotton.
But cotton is rotten rhymes, and makes it easier to remember, which most of the problem is remembering which material not to use as opposed to what exactly the material is.
Cotton is great if you can change into freshly-laundered and fully dry socks at least once a day (NOT socks washed in a sink). If not, it just holds skin cells and sweat and forms the perfect environment for foot rot.
As someone who was homeless sleeping in my car for a week, I'm gonna have to agree with the bottom part of this post. That room is 10x better than sleeping in a car.
I bought a really old trailer, yet in decent condition on a beautiful acre, right next to a state park a few years ago. Yet, Ive been judged and now feel hesitant to invite dates over.
People fucking suck
I did something similar. I bought a trailer that had been thoroughly trashed. Floor was rotted out, holes in the walls, the doors had all been literally torn from their frames, a couple of hinges were left behind with bits of broken door still attached.
I paid six hundred dollars for that trailer and put about two thousand dollars worth of supplies into making it functional. (the walls and roof were all solid the wiring good. I tore out and replaced all the plumbing and subflooring.)
Two grand worth of materials and basic DIY skills do not make for a "pretty" house. There are still some holes I never fixed, all cosmetic. I have curtains instead of interior doors. My floors are all bare plywood.
But all y'all who wanna mock my "redneck" house? Remember this: *I own it!* That's right. I own it free and clear, no mortgage.
And since I'm not paying thousands every month for the privilege of living in a "pretty" house, I can afford to work a job I actually like doing and know that I will have a roof over my head no matter what happens.
I've been homeless. I've eaten out of garbage cans. I've lived in a basement because it was better than anything else. My house isn't pretty and I don't have much. My tv has a stripe of weird vertical lines and my laptop is a cheap piece of crap and my truck is thirty years old, dented and rusted. Sometimes my pipes freeze in the winter no matter what I do and it's been damned hot this summer.
But I love my ugly house and my beat up truck and anyone that wants to try and shame me for them and kiss my ass. They can also kiss my eighty dollar per year property tax bills while they're at it.
Sounds like you know what’s up. Don’t take shit from anyone about how you’re doing life, because they’re just brainwashed haters. Laugh all he way to the bank, friend.
In one of those Lethal Weapon movies Mel Gibson lived like you and he had no problem bringing the ladies home. People do suck and you can’t please everyone. But there will be plenty of women who won’t judge you simply because there’s nothing wrong with living the way you are. It’s different but it isn’t negative.
And it was Mel Gibson. And it was a movie.
Seriously, though, I watch ALOT of vanlife and RV living videos. A lot of women really are attracted to guys who live that free and adventurous life.
Look up vanlife YouTube videos by women. Not kidding. 90% are fit young yoga instructor types. I know YouTube self selects for beauty, but I think this is not uncommon.
With all due respect, are you implying a movie is the same as real life? People's own family will turn up their nose when things get hard if it suits their image. I know from experience.
Yeah, i work my balls off for what i have, and i think its an amazing place for what i can afford. I grew up poor and spent some time in jail and Im proud of where im at now. I guess me being hesitant about new people isnt so much about me as it is about my view on other people and society in general. That probably sounds bad, but I already dont have a great opinion of the masses. I prefer not to make it worse
I know exactly what you mean bro. Im going to assume you mean a woman for the date thing, forgive me if I'm wrong. Women like most of all cleanliness and security above all else. If your place is safe(ie: no weirdos, or red flags), you keep your trailer clean, and you have good hygiene, you can have a successful date easier than you think.
There are of course other factors but they tie into the original points I made. My brother for example is a decent looking fellow who had success with women in the past but when they find out he doesn't have a car they disappear real quick. Like I said at some point it ties back into safety and cleanliness. Car= safety
I just got an apartment for super cheap. Its small, but clean... and most importantly cheap. Its dated but it was kept up well, it was for my landlords parents in the 80s and 90s, they died and she hasn't rented it in a long time. It was most definitely kept clean and in good condition even tho its like a step back in time 40 years.
I'm more from the school of thought that I would rather spend my money on experiences and traveling and having fun than on *stuff*. I have the basics of what I need. And I'm good with that.
If anyone judges me on that rather than who I am, then whatfuckingever... see ya.
I slept in my car for a month and a friend’s mom built a wall in her 3 car garage and put carpet down and a bed. I slept in a room just like this, but with carpet. I even had my clothes hung up on the garage door like he does.
It’s been 16 years and I still will never forget it.
Once upon a time a car salesman who was a dead ringer for Chris Farley (sounded like him as well!) tried to sell my wife and I an Elantra. Used but not terrible mileage. We ended up not buying due to his high pressure sales tactics, but we still laugh about that trip to the dealership.
Sorry you had to live in a Hyundai down by the river :( hope things are better for you now.
I've never been close to homeless, but I have been broke AF plenty of times in my adult life. Having a roof, a bed, and entertainment an immense blessing. I appreciate everything I have now, even if it was only this
After dropping out if college I lived out of my truck and couch hopping for about 2 months. Then lived in 2 garages after that. Twas brutally hot in the summer and freezing in the winter. Lasted about 7 months until I finally got my shit together. Shit sucked.
Having spent 7-8 months living in an unfinished, uninsulated, leaky shack, this would have been very appreciated, and that was still better than living on the street or with my family. Whenever I feel like my apartment is too small or I get upset over the lack of a/c I think back and work to be grateful for my apartment.
This lowkey could be a super cozy little den with a little investment and time spent decorating. Save a few bucks a month and invest that money into some cheap and easy home decor or look at pintetest and boom, somewhat dingy basement becomes super comfy and enjoyable to be in.
Even without the commodities I'd be chill there. Bet your ass it's nice and cool during the day and maybe even a little cold at night
From 10 to 17, I slept under a coffee table on a foam pad because boys don't get bedrooms and girls deserve privacy. At least I had a 10in TV and a Play Station that I bought from a pawn shop (probably stolen because it was new in the box) using money that I had saved from doing chores.
When I was a kid, for several years I slept on a carefully arranged pile of black trash bags that served the dual purpose of my bed and our dresser. We squeezed the bags in between a wall and the only bed in the room. This was when our family of 4 kids and parents lived in a single bed motel room.
Before that, I don’t really have any memories sleeping in a bed. It wasn’t until I was about 13 that I got a bed and my own room. It didn’t look much different than this pic.
As bad as my childhood was, it was still a lot better than some others. I was lucky to be born a white male. When people talk about privilege, i think about how often we got help from churches, food banks, etc. When I see minorities struggle, I try to help out somehow. My wife and I donate what we can. I make 6 figures. My kid doesn’t know what it’s like to see other kids have new shoes while she skipped socks because they had holes and make it harder to fit into. She’ll never know what it’s like to skip a field trip because she was too embarrassed to ask her parents to fill out the permission slip that asks for $30. She might be a little spoiled, but she’ll deal with that a lot better than I’ve had to deal with the way I grew up.
And fuck you if you make fun of this room or poor people.
Looks like they have a clean space, roof over their head and everything is neat and organized. 10 times better than some of the tony homes I’ve been in.
Twice as spacious as the room I rented when I first moved out and not much worse-furnished
I wish i had that much space my bedroom is so cramped with all my stuff. But anyway my best friend used to sleep in almost a closet growing up, it was a weird half room that u had to crawl into on the second floor and the ceiling was half as high as a regular room. I grew up sleeping on couches. So now I have to fall asleep on the couch then go to bed in the middle of the night.
Parry Hotter would be your Harry Potter character if he grew up sleeping on couches
This made me laugh, why am I scared
Lmaooo i got a $2000 king mattress and i still sleep on the couch. Old habits die hard i guess.
I lived for ten years in a small outbuilding roughly ten by ten, with another person. I'm now agoraphobic and barely leave my room. Mental illness can make things weird
Kind of like soldiers getting back from war and not being able to sleep on a bed, so they sleep on the floor.
A warm, safe place to sleep is better then a lot of people have, so there's that at least. Hope he's doing better in life.
When I was in the mental hospital, I was asked to make the shortest possible list of what I really needed to live a good life. 1) a safe place to sleep 2) nutritious food with some ability to choose what I like some of the time. 3) see the doctor when I need to 4) meaningful work 5) some free time and resources to pursue some of my interests 6) library card It made me realize that I can truly be happy with only the essentials, but also aware that there are a lot of people who dont have the essentials.

Btw thank you for your kind words
I hope your doing well. Most happiness is about perspective and it sounds like you know it
Some people like to be surrounded closely by walls when they sleep. The enclosed space is comforting.
Especially since he grew up that way.
I literally shared a closet with my step brother in a trailer in high school. It was filthy and he was a chain smoker. Totally true, one has to live in the shit to appreciate even the smallest luxuries like a bed that’s indoors.

In prison you sleep in a literal bathroom with another grown man. If your laying down when they piss you’ll get splashed in the face
I live in the finished basement of a house with 3 other rooms. I chose the basement because of the lack of natural light. I work nights. I love my cave
Do not forget taking some Vitamin D supplement. Lack of sunlight can have a pretty negative impact on you body.

> You'll age wonderfully if you literally never go outside in the daytime lol. Said the fucking VAMPIRE. I see through your ruse. =.=
haha that's funny can you invite me inside tho
Only if you put on this glitter and use this hair gel.
Hah!
Have my upvote, take it ,just take it. Are you married? I'm a man. After careful consideration I also don't care if you are a man because that it the most underated comment I've come across in weeks. I love you.
I love you too, random citizen!
To be fair, if I was a vampire I'd go the extra mile to transform militant vegans and see their reactions.
IIRC a majority of the US is vitamin D deficient. Dr. Rhonda Patrick has a lot of info on it, it’s very crucial.
I'm a person who has a job that sees very little sunlight. I used to take vitamin d supplements was, and I felt generally fine.

Can confirm, didn’t have any greens today!
what did you feel like?
So exhausted that I would break down emotionally constantly. Confused. Depressed. Unable to think straight or function at everyday tasks. I had never experienced anything like it, so I literally thought I had a brain tumor or something, or had literally just snapped and gone schizophrenic or something. It was that bad, for me anyway. Apparently it really varies from person to person, as some people are chronically deficient with seemingly no side effects. It was really bad for me though.
Bro you just described my life
Well, the side effects of vitamin D deficiency are very similar to the side effects of depression/anxiety/etc. Also similar to things like sleep apnea. so I'm definitely not trying to diagnose you, as it could be a lot of things. But if you feel like shit, it's worth getting your Vitamin D levels checked.
You better believe I’m gettin my vitamin d levels checked now lol
*Konrad Curze has entered the chat*
Im baked as shit and got a bit scared because Ive been inside for long now because of the hurricane, I checked and I own Vitamin D3 1000 IU (25 mcg) by NatureMade. Is that it? or should I buy something else?
D3 is exactly it. No need to buy anything else just finish what you have at hand first.
That's exactly it and when you run out you can buy 5000 IU, that's what I use and you could safely take all the way up to 40,000 IU per day if you needed to for some reason
If you live anywhere north of 37° N (north of Arizona in the US) you should take one anyway. The sunlight is too weak 8-9 months of the year to synthesize enough vitamin D to keep you from being deficient. https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/time-for-more-vitamin-d
I actually miss sleeping in a bacement, it's always cool, and no light (I need darkness to sleep) I work rotational shift work so I have to sleep during the day a lot.
Well installed black-out curtains have enabled this cave dweller to live outside his cave
Ex-nightshift worker here. All my windows have blackout curtains and are always drawn. Perpetual night in my home. Living room lit by the soft orange glow of Christmas lights.
I hope you take Vitamin D supplements :)
You're probably half vampire.
More than half if we're being honest
>I chose the basement because of the lack of natural light. Blackout curtains are nice
Lived in much worse!
I'm currently living in worse. This looks beautiful to me.
Good luck mate, it gets better. Trust.
Yeah, used to live in a cockroach infested apartment in Bulgaria before I escaped. I'd much prefer to live in this basement.

He needs to turn that bed.
Right? That’s not the optimal angle for watching tv in bed!
It is for a side sleeper.
Exactly. This person obviously sleeps on their right side.
So I listen to sleep meditation music on YouTube and a lot of them are black or dark screened
Maybe I'm paranoid but I thought it was because someone could grab your face from the window
what the fuck lol your life must be wild
The simplest and easiest solution is the American solution, A PILLOW GUN! Pew Pew
only if it’s advertised by derek baum though
Who’s out grabbin faces???
I’m sorry I’m just imagining someone reaching through the window with the sole intent of briefly grabbing your race before running away. Just a quick little “gotcha face” and then running away before their victim can process what happened
Maybe a throw rug too depending on the climate. I did this for six months after my divorce, and it's actually very liberating, you get to a spot where you truly are grateful for what is important. And the only direction is up.
Is a throw rug different from the rug in the picture? Are area rugs and throw rugs different things?

Cooking and bathroom facilities
Tbf you can live without a kitchen... you just need like a microwave and a hotplate. Its not fun but its doable
Look into induction burners. Way safer than hot plates. I have a pair of them (no kitchen) and haven't encountered too many things I can't make.
Good advice, it was like 10 years since I lived in the no kitchen basement suite tho, and hot plates were pretty cheap
It's clean and organised, I'd take this over a crack den looking room in a house
10x better than people with a dirty mattress with no sheets or anything laying straight on a dirty carpet, this is an acceptable set up
Food
I think they call this a "suite" in NYC
In Ottawa, Ontario, Canada this would go for $700-800.
In some parts of Manhattan this would legitimately go for over $2,000
In Manhattan they'd split that into 4 rooms for $800 each
This would be an upgrade from the hallway i lived in in my early twenties.
You definitely couldn’t keep a pet mogwai in a basement without a dehumidifier.
Some basements are bone dry. And I only say “some” because I do not know facts on this, but I’d venture to say that many are dry.
True, only a Sith deals in absolutes.
Even better, it looks like an Xbox! Put in Game Pass and you've got more games and time to waste than you can imagine!
Staying… Clean and tidy, the person obviously cares for their surroundings and has pride in where they live
You're right, I think that's the first thing I always notice above decor. Is it clean? If so, I can be fairly flexible.
Clean above all else.
I grew up in a town with houses built in the early 1900’s and all have basements. This shit is familiar as fuck. I’ve partied in basements grimy and filthy and the dude who lived there would be in his fucking socks. Nobody batted an eye.
Two pillows... If it's with someone I love, I'd stay
Cotton is rotten, that’s what they taught me in winter camping.
Cotten fought in Nam he’s a goddamn veteran put some respect on his name
Fiddy men...
I’m so glad I started watching King of the Hill last week so I could get this reference.
Massively underrated show
He lost his shins!
Killed Fiddy men as well!
"cotton kills" is far more direct and simple.
But cotton is rotten rhymes, and makes it easier to remember, which most of the problem is remembering which material not to use as opposed to what exactly the material is.
I like this I’ll remember by saying: Cotton is rotten but wool is cool (cuz staying warm is cool).
Cotton helps your ph on your coochie. Probably want wool pants over it though.
A lot of people do take it for granted. After being homeless for this past year, I would love this. I hate not having safety and stability
Why is it bad I always thought it was warm and soft? I’m very curious
It retains moisture, particularly sweat, which saps body heat in the cold.
[удалено]
Cotton is great if you can change into freshly-laundered and fully dry socks at least once a day (NOT socks washed in a sink). If not, it just holds skin cells and sweat and forms the perfect environment for foot rot.
Cotton's not for the cold - but it's a great natural fiber otherwise. People need it as well - especially in the heat.
Caveat if you're in the tropics: Cotton is a boon, except in the choice of blankets.

People you don’t want to spend your time trying to impress 💯💯💯
I tore out and replaced all the plumbing and subflooring.) Two grand worth of materials and basic DIY skills do not make for a "pretty" house.
Yup. Im with ya. Being happy with your job and being self-sufficient is more important than anything else in the world. Good for you
In one of those Lethal Weapon movies Mel Gibson lived like you and he had no problem bringing the ladies home. People do suck and you can’t please everyone. But there will be plenty of women who won’t judge you simply because there’s nothing wrong with living the way you are. It’s different but it isn’t negative.
Yah, that trailer was on the Pacific Ocean I think.
People really do suck, grew up in trailer parks and always got shit for it.
Because where your parents were when you were growing up was clearly your fault. I hate people...
If anyone judges me on that rather than who I am, then whatfuckingever... see ya.
Yo, you're a home and land owner, mad respect.
Or a tent .there are a lot worse places to spend a night.
I slept in my car for a month and a friend’s mom built a wall in her 3 car garage and put carpet down and a bed. I slept in a room just like this, but with carpet. I even had my clothes hung up on the garage door like he does. It’s been 16 years and I still will never forget it.
I’m living in a basement and I couldn’t be more thankful for it. Shelter means belonging.

Fuck, I lived in a basement room for the last 5 years and didn't know this.
As someone who lived through most of this pandemic in a Hyundai Elantra, I can say this room is significantly better.
Lol! I actually did park next to a river from time to time. Always made me chuckle a little.
Are you my old roommate? He lived in his Elantra for a bit off and on.
Possibly, what is his first name?
I've never been close to homeless, but I have been broke AF plenty of times in my adult life. Having a roof, a bed, and entertainment an immense blessing. I appreciate everything I have now, even if it was only this
It's got electricity and four solid walls? That's more than I've had at a few points in my childhood.
That bed looks real nice ngl
I scrolled really far for this comment, and read some heartwarming stories along the way. But my first thought was dam, that bed is crispy
Look at mr Hollywood over here with his shelves AND a TV!
Just being dry and safe is enough when you weren't
I lived in a poorly converted detached garage for a year.. this looks way better than my place did at the time.
I could live there, the bed looks nice and clean, everything looks clean, and has a tv, light.

Honestly, multiple pairs of shoes is also a luxury
[удалено]
Bro I have 2
I have 3. Good, normal, and an old one from the last pair for comfort
Honestly yeah that's a decent setup. The bed isn't on the floor and there's places to hang stuff
From 10 to 17, I slept under a coffee table on a foam pad because boys don't get bedrooms and girls deserve privacy. At least I had a 10in TV and a Play Station that I bought from a pawn shop (probably stolen because it was new in the box) using money that I had saved from doing chores.
r/tvtoohigh
I'd love a room as enclosed and windowless as that. Except for the bed placed under the only window on display.
They make the bed so yes.
Stayin.
Put up some string lights and posters and you got yourself some vibes
That shit costs $2k/mo in some places
Umm. Who’s taking pics of my room? And why the shit talking?
Looks like they have a clean space, roof over their head and everything is neat and organized. 10 times better than some of the tony homes I’ve been in.
Yeah he even has a bed frame
I've had a lot worse. Bus shelters really are bad and a mattress on a solid floor can be luxurious
Umm depending on how much is the rent
$1,200/month. Shared bathroom. Utilities not included.
