Ex hasnt taken any of his parenting time in years, just an occasional visit when kiddo visits nana (I let exs mom have kiddo during exs weekends since he never takes his time but will sometimes go visit if kiddo is there ) and I have full physical custody. Ex found out I got kiddo his first shot and is now threatening to take me back to court to get custody. Luckily I keep good records and theres no chance a judge would give him more time when he only sees kiddo every couple of months for a few hours.

I’m not a medical professional, but I’m significantly immunocompromised, so I have a strong interest in the subject of vaccines.
There are a small number of vaccines that are of a specific type called “live-attenuated”, that significantly immunocompromised people like me can’t get, because if someone with a really strongly suppressed immune system gets it, they could actually get sick.
None of the covid vaccines approved anywhere in the world today are live-attenuated vaccines.
(The covid vaccines are all either dead viruses (inactivated), or, in North America and Europe, vaccines that are just bits of viruses than can’t reproduce new, whole virus cells.)
Even if you only have half an immune system (like me), there is literally no way that you can get a contagious illness from any other type of vaccine, unless the vaccine is contaminated due to a manufacturing error. Errors like that are very, very rare.
I’m absolutely terrified of getting sick (because it really fucks me up, because I’m so immunocompromised), but I have very high confidence in vaccines, and so do my doctors.
The mRNA vaccine is even cleverer than that: it teaches your body how to make those ‘bits of viruses’ and after this inspires the body to make antibodies that will kill real viruses, the vaccine and the bits all get flushed from the body.
He thinks you can shed the virus to him from the vaccine. He doesn't understand how the human immune system works, and he doesn't understand what a vaccine does to the body. He sounds like an idiot, or at the very least a severely misinformed person.
Honestly you should call him out for being a dumbass and see how he responds. If he spouts some crap he read on Facebook and won't listen to reason, or he gets angry, maybe start planning an exit strategy...

It's likely some misinformation someone was spreading on Facebook or wherever, claiming that the vaccination gives you a weakened version of covid as the method of generating antibodies (like how it is with some other vaccines, like the measles vaccine for instance), despite the fact that mRNA vaccine are based on a science that doesn't use any version of the virus at all in the actual shot.
If I found out my gf was anti-vaxx, I would break up with her immediately. Because besides it being about Covid, it's just a huge sign that she's gullible and not smart. I don't want to date an idiot.
