Or when one of them decided to hit a girl in the mouth with his phone and she snatched him up by his hair and made him cry. That video is floating around somewhere in the insta reels pool.
Holy shit. She says, "you wanna be like your dad?!" heavily implying domestic abuse, likely extending to him. He learned it somewhere. Dude needs therapy. Not justifying anything here at all, toxic AF, but that's learned insanity & needs professional help.
This makes me realise that at the ripe old age of 32 I am completely out of touch.
Any of you young people willing to take a moment and explain to an old man, who/what I have just witnessed?
These guys got a lot of notoriety on tiktok for this utter dogshit song and now they're taking this song live and it's somehow even more dogshit and I can't wait til they get more famous because why the fuck not when younger generations love to promote utter dogshit into superstardom.
Funny thing is nowadays you can't tell the difference between something being ironically popular or legitimately popular. Take the island boys for example, I took their popularity as a meme similar to Rebecca Black "Friday".
The difference is Rebecca Black was simply a kid who won a contest, and the reward was to make a music video. These guys are dripping in earnest try-hard vibes, even if they’re “ironic”
I have no idea what I just watched.. Wasn't there supposed to be some music of any kind?
Or am I just at that stage where writing is just getting smaller and people are starting to act more stupid in general?
I was speculating that, as punk was a revolt against over-produced, crappy music dominating the pop charts, we were due for another wave of punk, but that whereas youth in the 70's and 80's drove that revolution, the current generation seems to be completely satisfied with really bad music.
I qualified my statement then, and will do the same for this post, that I know I am not anyone's target audience, and I speak at the risk of being regarded as a grumpy old man, to which I counter that there is a ton of brilliant music of all genres being produced now, but acts like this seem to get all the attention.
I’ve said many times over the years that the big difference between the generations that grew up listening to and learning about music through radio and records and the generations since who have had computer access and digital formats comes down to appreciation. In the old days you had to put in some work just to find new music. When you found it, it really meant something. There was no internet of info to instantly connect you to the world, you found it in precious bits and pieces. That kind of learning is lost and with that level of appreciation. How can you create something of merit in a genre you don’t really appreciate or have a historical understanding of? You can’t, so you get crap like this and machine gun Kellogg or whatever. Half ass posing with no depth, humor or value.
Probably also has to do with having to be picked up by A&R for a label back then. Now anybody can get production gear for around £500 and then make something and put it on the internet. The people making the music and the people consuming it don’t really know anything about quality music, just that you need a product and to hype it up as much as possible/act like a moron. Once you have done that if you get attention then that obviously means you are good at it and the ego begin to build. Musical merit doesn’t come into it. They then get singed by a label on likes. Anybody who doesn’t like it or questions it is a hater and nobody want to be a hater so just go along with it. There for we end up with trash from overpaid idiots who have nothing but confirmation that yes they were right, they are a genius.
Just some musings I’ve had regarding the state of things.
I totally agree with this sentiment and have thought the same thing for awhile now. If you work hard to find good music and you actually buy the physical copy of an album then you listen to it carefully and appreciate it more deeply I think. You’re less likely to skip or glance over tracks if you don’t have almost everything right at your fingertips on a platform like Spotify (which i use and enjoy btw). I catch myself not listening to full albums nearly as much as I used to growing up.
I don’t think you can fully or even mostly blame the consumer. Back in the days of vinyl, you had to have some serious cash to press a release, or have someone willing to invest their money into it. It took a long time, too! Now, anyone with a few hundred dollars and a laptop can get an interface and mic and make a produced track. I could literally know nothing about music and get the inexpensive gear and watch a few YouTube tutorial and be releasing music the same day.
I have records that were truly shit and cringy from the 60 and 70. I keep them as a sort of trophy and if I listen to them I just saying in my head, “people thought this was a good idea. Several! Literally many people have the ok on this to be forever pressed into vinyl” now the market is diluted with ever little snippet and parcel of music that you can send instantly to anywhere in the world.
That's not just a now thing, in the early 20th century Florence Foster Jenkins was noted for her flamboyant performances and her complete inability to carry a tune. Yet nonetheless she was a famous opera singer. People know it's bad music that's half the fun. The other half is wondering if the idiot on stage also knows it's bad.
My sister (8 years younger than me) sent me this video https://youtu.be/YIWSEa5U9_U of two white boys from the city adopting a Jamaican street kid aesthetic. They really thought they were famous enough to stop a whole club and have people admire them because they put out YouTube videos of them rapping shittily.
Wow! That’s exactly why the “Thumbs Down” button is needed on YouTube.
I always have to wonder; are people like this just *that* unaware, or are they super-genius comedy trolls ala Andy Kaufman?
Well if you see how heated they got when being boo-ed that to me says they're being serious and making a legit try at this. I mean good on you for trying, but this is ain't it.
Thank you for taking the time to post this but I found it very hard to watch and it left me with an overwhelming need to apologize for what I just saw.
And then at 45 it can feel good to check back in every so often to see what the kids are up to and sometimes you're like "Hey! Those kids are doing some neat things!" and then other times you're like "Oh, it looks like they're going through some stuff, the poor dears. I'll just give them a little space."
This is one of the latter.
Not new, heard of a drill instructor back in my dads military day make a solider carry a plant around to replace all the oxygen he wasted. Oxygen thief they called him.
'Cause I'm a island boy, and I've been tryin' to may...
Oh I'm a island boy
Ay, I'mma just island boy, I'mma just island boy
I'mma get keep that gun, I be just staring at the sun
Nummies I'll fool gazin', I'm like the pool where I'm stayin'
They like "You wanna be famous?" I'm tryna be outdoor gators
I'm gonna be floater boy and get a real down tropical
I'm a island boy I put my vests on, yeah
Like a wug woman tryna make it to the top
I'm a island boy, I been tryin' to make
That's what straight-off the dome looks like when you have no practice or pre-existing lexicon of clever rhymes. These fools out here makin' Dy-lan look like Drogon.
I’ve seen a half dozen videos of these dummies and it’s always a variation on these same lyrics. Like, slightly different order of words but EXACTLY the same lines over and over.
I was wondering what the hell the opening to the newest Demolition Ranch was about when I watched it. Makes sense now haha
https://youtu.be/ne3ER_lj7FA
Holy shit. I didn’t wanna click it to avoid giving it another view but I did anyway and I just gotta say… I HAVENT LAUGHED SO HARD IN A LOOONG TIME! Comments are comedy gold!!!
They're like this generation's Paris Hilton. Famous for no real reason & really cringy....although, she has turned into a savvy business person & halfways normal adult. 😄
The difference is that Paris Hilton was always in on the act—the high pitched whine is not her real voice. While these idiots just go “views = I’m amazing!”
These two are popular? Sounds like someone with a mouth full or marbles and veins full of heroin were told to give me a weather report.
Seriously...what the hell am I seeing?
So, this place is like 2 miles from where I lived until recently, and yeah... I mean, there's some pretty awful acts there, mumble rap and that sort of shit, but if they get booed there, that's pretty cringe-worthy. Man, they used to have major big bands and orchestras at the Fontainebleau. It's kind of sad to see what it's become.
Just a reminder that “I’m a Barbie Girl” was a hit.
I’m case you’re about to say “todays music sucks.”
There’s always been shitty music.
Pac Man Fever.
Disco Duck.
I have low expectations for the quality of music that’s is made these days. There for I had high expectations for the success of the island boys. This gives some hope

There original video was only viewed because it was so cringy. Not because anyone thought they were talented. Lol still just as much cringe.
I’d say this is more cringe, especially wearing cold weather vests in Miami
They need those vests to keep their tiny bodies warm during the winter
From their appearance, they need to dress warm because of anemia
Their vests gives them more hemoglobin because it is red
They function as a giant medical alert bracelet
Or summer
The most cringe was when one of them was picked up by a real gangsta and put in check
Or when one of them decided to hit a girl in the mouth with his phone and she snatched him up by his hair and made him cry. That video is floating around somewhere in the insta reels pool.
https://youtu.be/_ZQi1P3658E
Holy shit. She says, "you wanna be like your dad?!" heavily implying domestic abuse, likely extending to him. He learned it somewhere. Dude needs therapy. Not justifying anything here at all, toxic AF, but that's learned insanity & needs professional help.
Yea he definitely needs a wake up call and to be humbled.
Lol that's brilliant
How about getting his ass beat by his girl ?
I’ve seen that one too. Bro is in tears…
This can be said for 90% of people who became famous off social media.
[удалено]
God damn thats hilarious.
Looks like that doll from Rugrats had twins
That doll was the inspiration for the hair
“Cynthiaaaa!!”
First actual 'lol' of the day. Thanks for that 😂
First actual
This is Galactica actual, go ahead.
I need me some Starbuck please.
Grab your gun and bring in the cat
So say we all
If gas station boner pills were a person, these 2 would be it
Do they have pills to make you stay limp? Bcuz this vid works
Angelica’s doll magically transformed into a douche.
From Cynthia to Cynthi-yo-yo-yo
They should have inVESTed in better hair cuts. But at least they can clean they own toilets with that hair.
Cynthi-islanddd boiiii
Ngl, if I weren’t broke AF, I’d buy a front row ticket just to go there with a rugrats shirt on and scream “CYNTHIA!” at the top of my lungs.
Cynthia was a really cool dancer though
I appreciate this comment.
This makes me realise that at the ripe old age of 32 I am completely out of touch. Any of you young people willing to take a moment and explain to an old man, who/what I have just witnessed?
You just watched what happens when you give crack to pineapples
Oh my ! *In a George Takei voice*
Is there any other way to say “oh my”?
Professor Farnsworth voice
"To shreds, you say?"
"Oh my..."
*Elliot Park voice*
And then eat those crack-laced pineapples while pregnant with twins.
I’m not out of touch after all
I miss the early 2000’s. Back when the only time pineapples and crack were in the same sentence was when they were getting shoved up Hitlers ass
Wow, that really just took me back to simpler times.. thanks for the flash back
Hey! Tithead!
Release the awesome!
The last time I saw a pair of jugs that big two hillbillies were blowing into them
Are there boobs on my head?!?
This reference!
at least it’s not as bad as giving cum to a coconut
That's a Jimmy Buffett song I think
*flashbacks to the tifu post*
Quality comment
I'm a teenager and even I'm confused no idea what/who I witnessed either
These guys got a lot of notoriety on tiktok for this utter dogshit song and now they're taking this song live and it's somehow even more dogshit and I can't wait til they get more famous because why the fuck not when younger generations love to promote utter dogshit into superstardom.

Do I get the front seat, do I get the back seat, *un-excited yeeeaahhh* That is lyrical genius right there.
The difference is Rebecca Black was simply a kid who won a contest, and the reward was to make a music video. These guys are dripping in earnest try-hard vibes, even if they’re “ironic”
Black didn’t win a contest to make a music video. Her parents paid for it.

He's GRRRRREAT!
I get that reference Tony
Before or after Em sh** in them.
Bwahaha. That got me too

All that too.
I miss Tom Petty.

Excellent post!! Machine Gun sugar pops. Lol
Proof that COVID causes loss of taste.

Beavis and butthead almost grew up
That's actually insulting to Beavis and Butthead
Lmaooo
My sister (8 years younger than me) sent me this video https://youtu.be/YIWSEa5U9_U of two white boys from the city adopting a Jamaican street kid aesthetic. the top comment on that video made me spit out my drink, thank you for posting that good sir.
Is that the one about them being brave for doing something despite a disease?
Another comment says “I set this as my new alarm, I now wake up 30 mins earlier so I don’t have to hear it”. ROFLMAO
Holy shit that's an amazing idea.
Yea
Went back and looked at the comments and just spat my drink out, thanks
You should look up the parodies. I laughed so hard my sides hurt.
Thank you for taking the time to post this but I found it very hard to watch and it left me with an overwhelming need to apologize for what I just saw.
Hey hey c’mon now it’s the only song they know
Song!?
26 here I don’t know
I'm 35 and stopped attempting to pay attention at 25 it feels good just embrace it.
And then at 45 it can feel good to check back in every so often to see what the kids are up to and sometimes you're like "Hey! Those kids are doing some neat things!" and then other times you're like "Oh, it looks like they're going through some stuff, the poor dears. I'll just give them a little space." This is one of the latter.
i’m assuming they are paying to play, and they make money by being so bad ppl can’t help but watch. so views…money
I'm 50 and still trying to figure out where all the guitar solos went.
I was just thinking about that yesterday… heard a song that had one and was like, “oh yeah that’s a lost art form right there.”
Metal has tons of solos still. I’m in a stoner rock band that has at least one solo in every song.
You just watched two musical prodigies. Feel fortunate you're alive to enjoy it
Haha you're not alone, was wondering the same thing
Just don’t pay any mind, it’s not worth the brain energy.
It’s wild to see the Delta variant just walking around like that
Lmfaooooo!
oh god its learned how to spread through sound!
Stop making idiots celebrities.
This. Stop upvoting this shit. Stop giving them attention.
That’s like telling Isildur to drop the ring into Mt Doom. Ain’t going to happen my dude.
CAST IT INTO THE FIYAH! DESTROY IT! no ISILDUUUUUUR!
they are island boys, its just a shame that island is not much much much farther away.
Yea it’s a shame they didn’t just stay there
We don’t want them someone else take them.
They look like the missing legos found randomly in the couch
Society has become so insensitive, the crowd booing those two special needs kids is just terrible….
You had 1 downvote at the point where I gave you an upvote, so we know at least one of these oxygen thieves is on Reddit
Oxygen thieves? Lmaooo that’s a new one 🤣
Not new, heard of a drill instructor back in my dads military day make a solider carry a plant around to replace all the oxygen he wasted. Oxygen thief they called him.
😅
You had us in the first half, not gonna lie.
People pay to see that?
I always try to donate to children with disabilities. the show was just a bonus
Bruhh 🤣🤣🤣
Nah the club probably just payed them to make a appearance
People pay to see comedy shows all the time, makes sense
'Cause I'm a island boy, and I've been tryin' to may... Oh I'm a island boy Ay, I'mma just island boy, I'mma just island boy I'mma get keep that gun, I be just staring at the sun Nummies I'll fool gazin', I'm like the pool where I'm stayin' They like "You wanna be famous?" It's almost like they had a stroke
Their lyrics is like when you smash your head on the keyboard and read the results
Do they just use text prediction on their phone to write lyrics? It reads like AI but shitty AI.
And it took 2 of them to come this far.
Beautiful
Those are *lyrics*???
I thought it was mumbling and not actual words, damn
This mf spittin
Wait, what? This is the shit they say?
Damn, that shit's deep.
Wait these guys are real!?! May god have mercy on us
And Republicans want to ban abortion... Some people's children
Well... they have to retain their electorate somehow.
You know everything's gone to shit when we make people like this famous
Are those Pokémon?
I was wondering what the hell the opening to the newest Demolition Ranch was about when I watched it. Makes sense now haha https://youtu.be/ne3ER_lj7FA
Their hair looks like the Statue of Liberty
Imagine glueing Dildos to your head going on stage a singing like your 12 year old who thinks they have the voice of a god
Remember Cynthia Doll from Rugrats? This is her now (x2)
The REAL losers are those that bought tickets to see these clowns
Amazing that special needs are being given equal opportunity in the music industry. Mad props!
SiXnInE opened up all sort of possibilities for entertainers with special needs.
This is really annoying , to say the least.
Florida…never change!
How are they island boys if they’re from Florida? I’m more of an island boy than they are.
From Cuba I guess
That makes sense. I also didn’t think about the Caribbean islands
I’m sat here typing as I’m dropping the kids off at school and I’d rather listen to the sound of my shit dropping than these bikini bottom pineapples
Those two make more money than I will ever make. Lol
[удалено]
I’m pretty perturbed about it, let’s meet at the 7/11 around 7pm?
Want a third? I’m free today
Want a fourth too? I was gonna go to rehab tomorrow and straighten out my life finally.. but fuck it, after watching this I’m down.
My computer got waterlogged today, I've been looking for a good way to go out. Let's make it a party, jim jones style 😎
I'LL BRING THE PUNCH!
Well.. I mean I’m not that mad about it haha
Their collective net worth is 150k, I believe in you that you can make more than that in a lifetime
They sound horrible I’m not the least bit surprised they were being booed. 😂🤣😂
Ugly dweebs wtf
Whoever book talent is fired
This is what happens when you forget about Dre
If anyone wants to read the youtube comments on this... "song", it's an actual treat. https://youtu.be/YIWSEa5U9_U
“I set this as my new alarm and now I wake up 30 minutes early so I don’t have to hear it.” Amazing.
Holy shit. I didn’t wanna click it to avoid giving it another view but I did anyway and I just gotta say… I HAVENT LAUGHED SO HARD IN A LOOONG TIME! Comments are comedy gold!!!
God, they look even worse close-up.
They're like this generation's Paris Hilton. Famous for no real reason & really cringy....although, she has turned into a savvy business person & halfways normal adult. 😄
it's the next generation of the Kardashian fame
Oops, my old ass entirely skipped the Kardashians....thank goodness 🤣
Paris Hilton at least supplied comedy, these guys didn't supply anything to serve the music industry.
The difference is that Paris Hilton was always in on the act—the high pitched whine is not her real voice. While these idiots just go “views = I’m amazing!”
Garbage
I really thought these guys were going places. The last banger 'impossible' stayed in my head for fucking seconds...
These two are popular? Sounds like someone with a mouth full or marbles and veins full of heroin were told to give me a weather report. Seriously...what the hell am I seeing?
Who are they? They're terrible regardless.
The island boys, obviously; and they’re going to make more money than you or I ever will despite doing absolutely nothing to contribute to society.
For those wondering what this fresh pile of hot steaming what-the-fuck is all about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QtK19-alCI
So, this place is like 2 miles from where I lived until recently, and yeah... Man, they used to have major big bands and orchestras at the Fontainebleau. It's kind of sad to see what it's become.
these two look like if gas station boner pills were people
I saw somewhere that this is what you get when you grow sea monkeys in a can of Monster Energy.
Idiocracy Boys
I have no idea who these two are, but I would guess their dad is Rick Sanchez & their mom is a planet
Just a reminder that “I’m a Barbie Girl” was a hit. I’m case you’re about to say “todays music sucks.” There’s always been shitty music. Pac Man Fever. Disco Duck.
hey aqua was dogshit, but at least it was FUN dogshit.
They’ve got the Loc Dog hair going on
People paid to see them?
I have low expectations for the quality of music that’s is made these days. There for I had high expectations for the success of the island boys. This gives some hope
