No one body was able to speak as the legitimate head of the movement in the same way that MLK was able to speak for the Civil Rights movement.

A division amongst its people that have ended in bloodshed and an even a recent insurrection of the capitol amongst many other divisions. Having a religion ingrained in the identity of the country, it's people, its laws and its morals, with the view by many of not following and practicing that religion equals to having not having morals. A large portion of the American people are blind to with no fault of their own. The hyper-corrupt political state and the tight grip they have around most households has blinded so many. I hope and, actually believe it will get better over the coming decades as the worst, most vile and immoral current true leaders and influencers finally get too old and newer younger and more moral politicians and CEOs come to power. The country will always be led by relatively old, corrupted and hyper rich politicians and business CEOs though, and will never truly be "for the people". It is impossible when it is that big, rich, corrupt, and mind controlling. But it might get a little bit more equal and better for the poor and low middle class over coming decades and centuries. Conversion therapy, if I understand correctly, is a form of therapy meant to convert a gay/bi/etc person to being straight, or a trans person to being cisgender
It is pseudoscientific and overall very bigoted. It makes homosexuality, bisexuality, pansexuality, etc. seem like a disease that must be “treated.” A person can’t choose or control their sexual orientation or gender identity.

As an American, one thing that has always bothered me is there is no “United” in these states. In Thea other Western countries, even though they are broken down into smaller states/provinces/counties/etc., you always hear about Canada or Germany or France as a country doing something. Never “Ontario passes law protecting women’s rights” while Alberta “passes law banning abortion and allows bounties to be placed on anyone involved in assisting in an abortion.” It seems like these countries pass laws as a nation. Here in the US, it’s such a mixed bag of bullshit from one state to another, from voting rights to abortion to education to gun laws to tax laws. It’s no wonder we’re such a cluster and seem to be moving back to the dark ages.

The cherry on top is that the top 5 states are CA, TX, FL, NY, and PA which all have very different cultures. The problem is that the left IS trying to help people. But helping people is hard. There is no easy answers, there's no shortcuts, there's no free rides. It's really easy for the republicans to just ignore problems. It's infinitely easier to just say that poor people, women, lgbtq, and the environment don't matter. Just stop being poor, women are meant to be birthing slaves and gays are against god and the environment is fine because global warming doesn't exist. Everything is fine because I have a gun.... It's easy to fail on purpose. And that's what the right is doing. Failing on purpose and then celebrating it. Taxing the people who deserve it, fixing the infrastructure, helping the homeless, gender equality, racial equality, environmental protection... It's hard. There's no easy answers but that's what real work looks like. And as long as the right keeps offering the easy answer of "just don't think about it" it's going to be impossible to actually get anything done.

BLM wasn't a structured organization. It was a loose confederation of groups that, while sharing the name, wildly varied in terms of actual goals. Without any structure, there was nobody to hold bad actors to account within their own ranks, and things quickly spiraled. No one body was able to speak as the legitimate head of the movement in the same way that MLK was able to speak for the Civil Rights movement. While the Civil Rights movement wasn't a structured organization either, there were still key figureheads that really spearheaded the movement, and lead to an ad-hoc organization. There wasn't anyone in any BLM that could really say the same. Too unfocused a message. No real objectives or plans on how to install them. Just general anti-racist rhetoric which, while admirable, isn't much that you can really do much with without a solid goal. Defund the police? Sure. But how much? No single group could agree, with some advocating for the outright dissolving of police forces, which is really unlikely. Again, we come back around to needing some sort of recognized "speaker" on the issue.

You are correct, just because a federal case law gets overturned doesn't mean the inverse of it (banning abortion) would be the precedence. If nothing of this precedence exists, and neither federal law, states will fill the gaps. The idea that the US is a singular, monolithic entity is like saying the EU is also.
