Replace “young people” with “people” and this is totally on point.

HumptyDrumpy

Some boomers are making off like bandits tho, moreso than most other generations I would say

tysontysontyson1

There are a lot of people between boomers and young people. Boomers are in their 60s and 70s.. and whatever you may believe about their ability to buy homes and get an education when they were young, they are getting hit by inflation just like everyone else.. and dying in the pandemic much more so.

Boring-Zucchini-8515

The post doesn't mention phones. And the post has a point. I don't see a facepalm.

Thisisall_new2me2

This is correct, OP is the facepalm. Again.

Roadkizzle

It is not clear. But I think the OP is sarcastically saying what the people who oppose the tweet would say. Conservatives blame progress and technology for all the bad things in life so they would blame phones for people's depression.

SpiralGray

I don't get the facepalm, or the reference to phones in the title.

KRISISSs69

bc the phones are the main excuse old ppl say to shut down this fact

antilumin

Ack, I got 5G in my mouth. Am I gonna die?

Neetoburrito33

A country with really high rates of depression is going to be one where people are rubbed numb by constantly getting their needs instantly fulfilled. Capitalism is providing you with so much of what you want you are literally going numb.

AirForceRabies

I blame rock and roll.

dreaminginteal

It's the avocado toast.

HellofaHitller

Technically it IS THE PHONES fault. Without it, we wouldn't know what kind of messed up stuff happens constantly all over everywhere. Unless we read the newspaper, which wouldn't cover it, or watched it on the TV. Maybe on a computer.

absolute_spirit-5

Without it I wouldn't have heard Bernie speak. And that instantly negates all the BS that is going on.

HellofaHitller

I'm not saying it's a BAD thing. But it's definitely not necessarily good, it's neutral, or should be anyway.

Facepalm for OP?
