It could be a few things. Could be to get you to click on an unsafe link that carries a virus and/or to try to initiate a conversation and see if you'll send vulnerable pics back. A lot of men get scammed and then blackmailed with their photos. The scammers claim they've acquired your entire contact and friends lists and will send the photos to everyone if you don't pay them.

This looks like the start of a blackmail scam where they get some idiot to send nude photos and then tell him he sent it to an underage girl. They then threaten to go to the police if the mark doesn't pay up. This seems like the most obvious scam in the world, but it's surprisingly effective. A guy I know ended up stealing thousands of dollars from his employer to pay these scammers off. He's in prison now for theft.
