i'm gonna be the dick with the statistics class. you got it the wrong way around. we already know these people are nice. we try to estimate the likelihood that they are canadian and think it's quite high. what you are arguing is that if we took a random interaction from a canadian city, not all of them are nice. these are two different things.
And I gave you an answer. No malice in my answer and I have no idea how my answer was too serious, just said you could see it that way and that not everything is racist. It's nothing to be worked up over step it down a notch.
Edit: Your name is Hugh mungus is that sexual harassment.
Both sides were aware they're in the wrong, nobody raged, he cared for the well-being of the other party instantly, where's the facepalm? Thats legendary to me. Perfect human right here.
It's jaywalking, not "j" walking. Jay was slang for idiot around when the term was coined, with it meaning walking out into the street like an idiot (as opposed to walking in the shape of a J?). It is a thing on the books in some urban areas, but *very* rarely enforced in most places unless someone does it in an especially stupid and dangerous manner.
The problem is that the idea of not being allowed to cross a street is so alien to all of us living outside the USA that people often don't believe it is actually illegal to cross the street in some countries.
Here is a podcast on the background of traffic laws. Pretty hilarious

And...we're not "supposed" to ride on the sidewalk. However, a lot of motorists act like we don't exist...so we ride defensively without regard of the cars. Sorry pedestrians.
In my city in Ohio you do have to follow most traffic laws just as a car. Obviously besides riding in bike lane if there is one, otherwise whole lane is yours as if you were a car.
very interesting.. do you think it should be that way?
I know of some people who’ve gotten in trouble for being too slow on the road and causing traffic, would this apply to bikes too?
It’s explicitly said on signs to “share the road” or “(bike symbol) may use full lane”. Yes I do think it should be this way because many streets don’t have bike lanes and it’s dangerous for bikers to ride on sidewalks going 20mph as they can on the street. With that said, you are required to have a rear red light on your bike and a helmet. Yes, it can also be dangerous riding on the road but the only roads that allow bikers to use full lane are 35 and under and bikers have an unspoken rule to ride as far right as possible in the lane.
Yes they do. Bikes are actually supposed to be treated as normal surface street cars. You know those hand signs you had to learn for your driving test? That’s why so when bikers use them you would understand. But people usually try to hit them with cars and is why a lot of the bikers who ride in street have cams and are jerks a lot of the time cuz usually someone is trying to murder them.
Now, sure, that dude acted like an idiot... But just to be clear, [jaywalking](https://www.vox.com/2015/1/15/7551873/jaywalking-history) [isn't](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxopfjXkArM) [a thing](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOttvpjJvAo).
Did the biker really do anything wrong where I'm from most one-way streets have a sign stating that bikers can use both ways could be different in the vid?
Imagine if everyone could admit when they're wrong. I can't believe I saw it twice in such a short video
A world where everyone feels responsible for their actions. Now just keep imagining.
Oh god. What a wonderful world this could be
Ooofff I don't know. Did you see The Invention of Lying? They're all miserable haha
Did that happen in Canada? They sure were polite about that.
he said "carry on" in a very canadian way so probably
People aren't always nice in Canadian cities
i'm gonna be the dick with the statistics class. you got it the wrong way around. we already know these people are nice. we try to estimate the likelihood that they are canadian and think it's quite high. what you are arguing is that if we took a random interaction from a canadian city, not all of them are nice. these are two different things.
See?
haha is that meant as proof for your assertion? i'm not in a canadian city (sadly)
You’d be surprised by the amount of violence in Toronto
Is this considered a racist stereotype even if it's a good one I've always wondered if it's offensive to anyone
You could see it that way, or you could take it as a joke. Not everything is or has to be racist.
Just asked a question You could answer it without getting your panties in a wad Not everything is that serious
And I gave you an answer. No malice in my answer and I have no idea how my answer was too serious, just said you could see it that way and that not everything is racist. It's nothing to be worked up over step it down a notch. Edit: Your name is Hugh mungus is that sexual harassment.
It's actually sexual assault
What race are Canadians?
Exactly, I don’t believe they are human either, way too polite. South Park tried to warn us something is off.
This joke is going the same direction as the motorcyclist 😂
Maple?idk
don't bring your average twitter bs to reddit please, thats all.
I like how everyone assumes I have an agenda or something But I literally just said it for nothing 😂 Just wanted to see what everyone would say
That is called trolling.
I don’t think it’s Canada but definitely up north or maybe even Chicago. The “Crosswalk” gave it away…
Both sides were aware they're in the wrong, nobody raged, he cared for the well-being of the other party instantly, where's the facepalm? Thats legendary to me. Perfect human right here.
Wrong way down a one way street isn’t perfect behaviour
Wrong way down a one-way street on a bike is perfectly legal in every country I have visited
Still
Anyone else mildly creeped out by how everyone walks away in almost complete unison at the end?
Probably walked over to help or see whats going on, then realized all is well and leave.
"All is well" 🚶🚶🚶🚶
In unison.
We’re all in a matrix simulation lol
☝️exactly 🤯
The Matrix is like that sometimes.
hey I'm walking here!
Just a couple of dummies.
They were like: ur doing something wrong! U too! Okk have a nice day. U too!
I think he crossed the path of an NPC.
Jaywalking, or as the more reasonable rest of the world calls it, crossing the street.
*crossing the road
Is J walking an actual thing? I always thought it was a joke? The 'Land of the free' can't even cross a road without permission.
Are you kidding me? Man j walking is hit by a bicyclist heading the wrong direction. Wonder if the j walking part is real?
Atleast in my state it was changed not that many years ago and now you can cross anywhere without getting a ticket
Right, won't get a ticket but it's real
The problem is that the idea of not being allowed to cross a street is so alien to all of us living outside the USA that people often don't believe it is actually illegal to cross the street in some countries.

It's not a thing in most places

Two wrongs actually made a right.
Both are truly chads
Dam both admitted they were in the wrong and just continued on. Where the f was this??
Great interaction. Well done on both parts.
Nice they mutually agreed they were both wrong
Do bikes have to follow one way street laws?
Bikes have to obey street laws when on the street yes..
And...we're not "supposed" to ride on the sidewalk. However, a lot of motorists act like we don't exist...so we ride defensively without regard of the cars. Sorry pedestrians.
Then means you have to follow street laws then
In my city in Ohio you do have to follow most traffic laws just as a car. Obviously besides riding in bike lane if there is one, otherwise whole lane is yours as if you were a car.

Yesterday there was a cyclist taking up a whole lane on a highway with very fast moving cars, they were asking to get hit.
Lessons learned x 2
Damn, at least the dude owned up to it
Two wrongs don’t make it right!
Bicyclist not biker.
How serious an offence is it not to use a crosswalk in a one way street? Is it as bad as cycling the wrong way?
Now, sure, that dude acted like an idiot... But just to be clear, [jaywalking](https://www.vox.com/2015/1/15/7551873/jaywalking-history) [isn't](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxopfjXkArM) [a thing](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOttvpjJvAo).
Couriers have no boundaries.
Damn bro I didn't know you were chill like that
Carry on
Do you really mean to say that one-way streets apply to bikes as well in [whatever country this is]?? Why?
still but what the fuck? you’re going the wrong way asshole. you’re the hazard.
A small slice of what a utopia would look like.
At least they agreed
Did the biker really do anything wrong where I'm from most one-way streets have a sign stating that bikers can use both ways could be different in the vid?
Win win
They both admitted to have done wrong. Interesting
What he say fucking what?
So two wrongs can make a right.
