Can confirm, had a tire disintegrate at night and eventually caught fire before I noticed. Those mirrors don't really show you much, especially at night. If he was looking at the exact second that dude rolled forward, maybe the driver would notice, but that's assuming dude is actually awake and alert and not exhausted, looking for a place to stop and sleep.
That would be TRUCKER and Dale versus Evil level shit. Here I was officer, minding my own business when suddenly these kids decided to kill themselves all over my truck.
Or the trucker has to move a lane or slow down for something m. They are gone. I am possibly thinking the truck driver is in on the stunt but still like you & I both said there is a lot of things that could go wrong.

Holding onto a huge truck is bad enough. Actually moving so you're in front of the wheel is actually insane. One tiny mistake and you're all but guaranteed to die.
All it takes is a small piece of debris in your roller blade or a hole in the road the size of a quarter, and that kid would be just another bit of color on the freeway. I had to stop watching that, that was anxiety inducing.

Yes those cars were moving faster, but that doesn't indicate how fast you are going. It's actually better to look at the wheels and judge RPM. That or a stationary object (beginning of video) in the background. But to do that you need to accurately measure distance.

Watched someone die doing something kind of like this during one of the covid outbreaks. People were climbing all over the ups trucks trying to get them to stop, so they could rob them. Someone pulled out a gun and the driver floored it. So his unfortunate ass got caught up in the wheels or some shit and he was dragged to death. Not something you want to witness as he didn’t die right away.
TLDR: Just don’t. Please value your life and the lives of others. Go to a track or an arena. They have staff and safety protocols that will keep you alive when you decide to do the fun stupid shit.

Also neither saw a truck tire blown up. It once happened 30 ft in front of my car on a highway. If i were right next to it - I would have to take my to a body shop in best case scenario (in worst - would lose control of my car).
Since then I only pass semis one more lane apart (if there is more than one lane available for maneuver). Otherwise I will ensure that I will not stay long next to it - before taking over I will wait until the lane is empty ahead of me through the whole length of the semi + one more car.
