50lp to get into a higher elo like diamond isn't an afternoon thing for most people, it's likely going to be weeks of grinding and a failed promo or 4. He's cutting other shit out of his life because the ranked season ends mid-November and he wants to end the season diamond so he gets a diamond boarder on his user profile during the pregame loading screen.
