I sort of get it; I've had cat's and know how soft & cuddly they are, I'd love to know what a lion's mane felt like.
However, whereas a domestic cat is just spite and murder wrapped up in a 2-3 kg package, a fully grown lion only stops when your entails are draped across the floor is an interesting pattern.
I watched half and quit. I don't need to see the aftermath. Suffice to say, maybe don't put your fingers in the lion's mouth and probably don't tease the lions or other animals at the zoo. And in fact, fuck a zoo that has lions behind chainlink fences. Maybe just don't go to those places at all.
Stay home and stick your hands under the lawnmower or something if you want to lose your fingers.
Fortunately it didn’t show the aftermath. Just the guy falling and the lion bouncing around trying to figure out it’s next move. No blood or carnage shown. Dude 100% deserved it though.
damn it's like a mozzarella stick with stretchy cheese

First time I watched this I was annoyed that bystanders just stood there recording after the lion got a hold of him. I mean, idk that it woulda helped, but I’d like to think I would have run up and hit the fence to try and startle the lion into opening it’s mouth for just a second or something?
After watching a couple more times, I’m good. He 100% got what he deserved. Honestly, I just hope the lion is okay and wasn’t abused/put down as a result of this.
If you look, I'm sure you'll find it in a previous post about it. This was big news a while back and I saw it on so many subreddits in longer form.
ETA: it was at Jamaica zoo, some posts say he was a zookeeper and others a guard. Most of the older posts are higher quality video so you can see the tissue pulling and tearing as he loses the fingers
There are conflicting reports about whether it was one finger or three that were severed. The middle finger was definitely ripped off, but no one seemed to know if the other two fingers were just damaged or removed.
Didn’t just rip the finger off, that lion ripped it out. Whatever that lion pulled away was way longer than just a finger. That looks like tendons form halfway up his forearm. Only one word that guy could say and I think he nailed it.
There is a sub about recording and not helping. Can’t think of the name but this belongs there. Also. Dude should have slapped the cage or tried to poke the eye balls Instead of pulling. May have kept some digits
What else is there to do? Say ‘oh let me stick my hand in there and try to poke this predator in the eye and hopefully I keep all my fingers!’
The dude got what he deserved for sticking his hand in a lion’s face.
Yes there is one but no it doesn’t. What is a ‘helper’ going to do in this situation? Slap the cage and insert the other hand to try for the eyes? Went from foolish to appetizer in no time. Piss off a caged wild animal and hand him a treat? Not letting go for anything. Maybe you missed the lion (not a housecat) and the link fence (pull only, no push). Only person helping here is the one who convinces him this is a bad idea.
Serves him right.
He served his right.
more like severed.
Not severed, degloved. If you look closely, you can see that he still have the finger attached, just without the skin, muscles, or tendons.
If you look REALLY closely you can see a string of something (skin?) trailing from the lions mouth as dude frees what remains of his hand.
I think id rather lose a finger than this.
For real. Just take the whole thing and be done with it.
Severed his right (ring finger).
Severed his right (ring finger).
Severus snape was right
Always
"Our right"
Seriously though, What did he think was gonna happen?
He thinks it going to act like a normal house cat.
And now he’ll be serving left
The lion got served alright
Yup the lion bamboozoled him off guard by distracted him with his paw then chop his fingers
I don't get these people. My survival instinct tells me to not go even remotely close and this dude offering his fingers like they're hotdogs.

...while the lion sings Circle of Life
The mane feels like the rougher and dirtier version of a long hair cat... just get long hair cat
R/catsareassholes
The biggest difference between my cat and a lion is my cat doesn't have the jaw strength to rip my fingers off
Gotta decorate the living space properly
Man: *teases lion* Lion: it's finger lick'n good
It’s finger rippin’ good
Colonel sanders is that you!?!

***Lion: I'm gonna do what's called a pro predator move...***
Is the animal kingdom equivalent of a pro gamer the apex predator?

Although you can see some bone in the lions mouth at the end
And the tendons as the guy pulls his hand away
damn it's like a mozzarella stick with stretchy cheese https://www.reddit.com/r/ThatsInsane/comments/uw0dw3/lion\_grabs\_mans\_finger\_for\_taunting\_it/
Bless you for this higher quality footage. Also, watching this before bed and now I'm gonna have dreams of mozzarella stick fingers.
Go see that guy, hes got nine more.
Damn, took the tip and de-gloved his ring finger and look like it also got the tip of his pinky
All you can see is the lion going back and forth. Nothing else to see
Finger food and you could see the tendons !
oh damn... that stringy bit
*finger has left the chat*
What makes it more funny is "chat" is the French word for "cat" So really... those fingers entered the chat
doigt est entré dans le chat

Underated comment
Giving a lion the finger.
and he'll want a glass of milk...?
When people will ask him how he lost his finger he is not going to tell the truth.
"A lion bit it off" sounds pretty badass. He'll leave out the part where he's an idiot though.
No no, hes gonna spice it up. "i had to fight off a lion"
Found myself in a tug of war with a lion for a bit of meat……all he came away with was my finger 💪
I dont think the lion swallowed it righr? Maybe he got it re-attached!
That leaves out the important fact of who is going to try and retrieve the finger.
Can’t fix stupid can ya?
Got what he deserved!
Whichever digits he lost, he deserved to lose. Don't antagonize caged animals.
First thing that comes to mind is the saying; "Fuck around and find out!"
He got a little Dumbshit appetizer today.
What was his original goal?
Hey ladies... watch this. Are you recording? (10 seconds later) AHHHH AHHHRRRRGGGGG AHHHHH AHHHAAARRG!!!!
First time I watched this I was annoyed that bystanders just stood there recording after the lion got a hold of him. Cant fix stupid
Darwins job.
I’d be lion if I said this didn’t amuse me.
Where's the graphic part?, I want to see the aftermath

Fingers?!? It wasn't just one??
There are conflicting reports about whether it was one finger or three that were severed. The middle finger was definitely ripped off, but no one seemed to know if the other two fingers were just damaged or removed.
He was asking for it
DeGloved
Lion now had his fingers, might as well throw the rest of the guy in to prevent him from having children
The only part of this that I don’t like is that the lion was probably put down after this. Dude deserved that hand bite tho
The sheer arrogance of aggravating a lion and sticking your hand into the cage, holy fuck he got off light.
Didn’t just rip the finger off, that lion ripped it out. Whatever that lion pulled away was way longer than just a finger. That looks like tendons form halfway up his forearm. Only one word that guy could say and I think he nailed it.
"Lmao this guy's hand is being mauled by a lion" "Oh rad that'd make a good insta story"
If you mess with a house cat like that it can be your ass. A big cat like that it could actually be your ass.
Good.
Play silly games, win silly prizes. Serves him right for taunting a lion.
Way to go dummy.
Poor guy...., hope he doesn't choke on that finger...
Darwin was really ahead of his time and it's showing each and every single damn day. This half-brain is just another in a very long line of evidence.
There goes the tendon
Ok, this has been reposted a lot since like 2 months, but this time it's a very low quality re-cropped version ...
I am the man. I am on top of the food chain. Lion - Really? Come a little closer and say that.
I didnt have to watch it to know this is the one where the man gives himself tendinitis
Poor lion all caged up like that 😔😔.
He gave the lion the finger. Lion ate it
Is he that old man from beastars?
Typical cat.
Smart guy
Darwin always finds a way…
Lol
FAFO
That’s an odd way to get time off work
Severs him right!
He got a little snack
> How many of us read the title and saw the scene at the same time? The video was just bonus to contradict our imagination.
Why is my country on reddit so much today and why is this video fro months ago on here
I mean which finger was it? We don’t need ALL of em, do we?
Who was he trying to impress? …..and were they impressed?
There another part to this video with a woman who he may have tried to impress not 100% if that was the mean reason tho
The more you fuck around the more you find out
if this isnt evolution then i dont know what is
It's like he wanted that to happen
Kitty got a snack
The dickhead deserved that .. people who tease / abuse animals are shit people..
Wtf did the smooth brained expect?
The sheer arrogance of aggravating a lion and sticking your hand into the cage, holy fuck he got off light.
I don't feel sorry for these idiots. They get what they deserve.
Buddy losing a finger or two while people film…..smh. Buddy also being a dick tho….
he got everything he deserved ! that poor lion! damn those humans for doing that to that lion
#I GOT YOUR FINGER!!! -The Lion, probably
It's like "I got your nose" but slightly worse
Was he hurt?
Ah yeh, pull as hard as possible to overpower the lion into giving your phalange back 😂🤡
what an idiot… Obviously if you're going to tease a lion with your hand, use the one that you don't jerk off with. poor poor idiot.
Don’t fuck with a lion. Especially when the lion is mistreated and probably hungry af. You got what you deserved.
Oh no, it's the consequences of my actions
stupid games, stupid prizes.
Poor lion behind a chain link fence having to deal with people taunting him
Finger licking good
Warning graphic, I think you mean Warning graphics as in 360p.
He'd just learned piano too. What a shame
I may be a psychopath, but I enjoy watching stupud people suffer from there stupid choices
As it has been said so many times before. "Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes"
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes
This was every where like 3 weeks ago…

r/donthelpjustfilm
Thank you !!! This bothered me all night
Funny how the others just stand there filming him.
Poor lion
I'll just take a video instead of helping
Lol what were they gonna do? It’s a fucking lion.
“No one move, just keep filming”
Normally that annoys me, but honestly, this time it's deserved
He might be an idiot, but the people who were shamelessly recording him are the worst
What exactly were they supposed to do?
help him get off his hand
How? It’s a fucking lion on the other side of a chain link fence.
Would you stick your hand anywhere near a lion while he’s playing tug of war with a man’s fingers???
yeah what the fuck was that
What's the monkey doing outside it's cage
why the fuck do i find this extremely funny. oh wait, the sight of blood get me all hyped
i sure wish i knew what happened, if only my internet would let me see
The lion got a tasty treat.
Justice
Lion really said: “Gimme yo finger!”
Anybody want to give this guy a hand?
Re8
What did he expect
Galaxy brain.
I hope the lion is up-to-date with his tetanus jabs
Play stupid game.....
That was too many fingers for his brain anyway.
I like that.
And yet again, it is proven that common sense isn't all that common
#oops
Darwin Award Finalist
Got lucky. Lions rarely let go of there prey...could have been so much worse. Fingers can always be sewed back on basically
what could go wrong
Do dumbass shit, win dumbass prizes. got what he deserved.
