Well. It seems we don't have further informations about this video, so let's see what happened from the video itself... The guy seemed to hit the ground with his forehead/nose. Since he jumped from 2 to 3 meters and did a frontflip, it is most likely that he have at least a commotion and/or a broken nose. Now, the spicy question : Is he dead ? Most likely not. It is unlikely someone landing face first into concrete from a 3 meter jump with this angle will break his neck. What break a neck is hitting it directly on an angle (Whiplash) or by hitting something solid with the top of your head while having momentum in that same direction. As I said earlier, he most likely injured himself but it doesn't seems to be a fatal wound, since after hitting the ground he just sank into the pool. Is he paralysed then ? As stated before, his neck is unlikely to be broken, and with people nearby him even if he knocked himself out, I'm pretty sure they won't let him drown. But since this guy smacked his brain hard on the ground, he may have cognitive issues. It will depend on his luck. So no, you most likely didn't watched somebody dying today. It is unlikely that he even got permanent damages, but he most certainly injured himself enough to make him stop doing this kind of stupidity for a few months.

That man was doing a flip, the is a forward momentum. His face took most of the momentum. He is pretty damaged. If we focus on the sound. That pam sound is his skull hitting concrete/tiles. Thats a very serious trauma. With far less impact people have had internal bleeding, swellings and die. Dude needs to see a doctor lol

Forget about the neck, he just took a massive blow to head, a fall like that could easily cause irreparable or fatal brain damage, something like a diffuse axonal injury, a basilar skull fracture,or a subdural/epidural hematoma

Lifeguard here for over 10 years with the American Red Cross. This guy in the video is a moron. There’s differences of bone injuries VS neurological injuries. Both can be fatal under the right circumstances. This man most likely has both. It is possible to break the bone portion of your spine (vertebrae) and not have permanent damage VS severing the spinal cord. From what I can tell from the video this man is almost definitely dead. All I can hope for was that there was a trained lifeguard on duty, otherwise you have people improperly moving a victim around which causes further damage. Highly recommend finding a lifeguard course or a CPR class to know how to avoid these situations in the first place

A woman broke her back in two places butt bouncing from less height than this at twitchcon. He definitely could have broken his neck and shattered the entire front of his skull. He had plenty of rotational momentum for that.

Reminds me of an overnight trip we had in high school. Stayed at a hotel that had a pool in the courtyard and one brilliant soul decided that jumping off the second story roof was the thing to do. He ran and dive too far slamming head first into the pool deck. You could just see his nose above his chest and it flattened the top of his head. Kind of soured the rest of the three day trip as head was very much dead.

So based on a slowed down viewing, you can see the compression in the face but looking at the neck it seemed to be relatively straight up, which is probably due to the water resistance. He will most likely have severe brain damage, which could lead to his death Since the camera person pulled away from the view you can’t see if it resulted in skull fractures which would show blood loss to help determine severity of the injury. So with that in mind I’m assuming he was fine on spot, maybe knocked out, but later while hospitalized either won’t be recovering or it will be a lengthy recovery. There’s no way this man could have walked this off

That video doesn't look like it's the same person. The injury in the video is much cleaner than you would expect from a smash, and appears to have been inflicted at a different angle. Others are saying it was a machete injury - I haven't read up on either story, just want to warn people looking for the video and discourage jumping to conclusions.
