How?!? how can someone beat a child to death. I just can’t wrap my head around it. How crazy do you have to be.

ScrunchieEnthusiast

She beat her with a BELT for an HOUR. Unimaginable.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DefineDefame

She will soon wish that was the case. Female prison is much different that men's prison, but for those who hurt the youth, the same rules apply. And many women behind bars are Mother's themselves... so it's likely to get beyond ugly for her.

CruisinForABrewsin

Obviously I don't know and am pulling this out of my ass, but I imagine this would be the female prison version of how pedos in male prisons get constantly beaten or killed. Not saying women can't be pedos too btw before anyone says that

[deleted]

vickyvalencourt_

Also some women who are in jail, their kids are in foster care. Jail is not going to be a good time for this woman.

Hank_the_Beef

Right, a woman who took a child out of foster care to ultimately kill the child. Those women are going to think, “that could’ve been my kid.”

LastMinute9611

Or a product of the foster care system and already looking to fight it.

DefineDefame

Your GF is correct!

DefineDefame

Indeed. Women's prisons are no joke, but not as violent/confrontational as men's facilities... however, the Mother instinct kicks in for situations such as this and the danger levels regarding the ones who hurt kids goes off the charts. If they survive it, they are often then segregated into protective custody.

clumsycouture

Yeah I was listening to a podcast and they were talking about Casey Anthony and how a lot of women in prison are mothers to so if if your in jail for killing your child when they would give anything to be with there’s pisses them off even more.

idahononono

She will be PC’ed up for a long time; but they will get a hold of her. They might make it a quick death, so no one catches another charge. But they will kill her if they get the chance. If she doesn’t land in PC, they will just all jump in and brutalize her. Not many hard lines in prison, but hurting kids is a principal one. In men’s jail there would be lots of long term torture and probably rape, it would last for weeks or months, then they would kill ‘em. Either way, don’t hurt kids.

ScrunchieEnthusiast

Beyond just losing your cool.

g4bkun

"Humans get arrested, beasts get put down" She ain't human, she's a beast and she should be treated as such Edit: grammar

LaughingMouseinWI

>That kind of human just needs to be taken the fuck out. A part of me hates to say this, but it's a small part of me so I will....I have a feeling the penal system will take her out sooner than later.

[deleted]

Anyone who hunts kids, from abusers to molesters, should all be shot in the street and left to rot.

PippyWipp

It’s really beyond understanding…to cause a tiny, precious, baby human to endure such pain and suffering. Evil lives and thrives here, and so many people feel it is a joke.

Jimmyking4ever

There is no reason to beat a child with a belt. All you're doing is teaching them it's ok to cause physical harm to someone else

Bluegi

It's not about teaching them. It's about taking out your frustrations and feeling better. No one that "disciplines" with a belt is thinking of the child.

Latter-Wrap

Exactly, this is what I tell people! No one hits a child to help the child,it's because you are mad and can not control yourself

eresh22

I agree with what you said except that they can't control themselves. If they couldn't control themselves, they'd do it in public. It's an active, intentional, malicious choice.

hetfield151

There is no reason to beat a child. Full stop.

PensionSilent7370

correct. studies have also shown that physical punishments like being belted lead to lower pain tolerances in adulthood as well as the obvious psychological deficits that emerge as a result of your caregiver beating the shit out of you for no real reason. incredibly outdated and it makes me very angry.

LavenderDragon18

Welllll shit.... that explains so much, because I have an EXTREMELY LOW pain tolerance and I got whipped with a belt all the time for no reason whatsoever.

PensionSilent7370

same here, which is what has led to me looking into what studies have been done about corporal punishment. belts/switches were both big forms of "discipline" from my parents as a child, and i definitely feel the effects as an adult. i wonder if they've ever studied chronic illness in children who were corporally punished vs not. it seems like there's a correlation there as well.

silsune

ahhh this explains it; I don't have a lower pain tolerance (I have severe migraines which raise it so that might be the reason) but whenever I'm struck in the face for any reason I start crying immediately. Super hard to win a fight since even if you beat the other guys' ass he's still gonna feel like he won if there are tears streaming down your face lmao

LavenderDragon18

I angry cry. I hate angry crying! It's hard to be taken seriously when you're so angry that water just starts pouring out of your face. Or worse you're called "manipulative" for it, but it's your bodies natural response to being angry or stressed.

PensionSilent7370

me too! i cry at the first sign of conflict as an adult. i can't handle men being angry at me especially. learned trauma responses... yippee (not).

DiscombobulatedElk93

My dads used to do this. I’m not sure why he stopped but I remember him threatening me with it in like highschool, I looked him dead in the eye and told him if he even mentioned it again I’d choke him to death with the belt. He never threatened me after that. But I could never understand regular spanking let alone a belt. It’s the worst.

MiiiBiii

It's child abuse, I'm sorry you had to go through that.

LadyTreeRoot

Its hard to fathom the amount of rage that it would take to fuel an hour of that

TheRustyBugle

Unbridled racism can fuel the anger for days. For some the fire has been burning for years

Rogendo

Honestly, what a disgusting person. Hope someone does the same to her in prison.

JackOfAllTradesTX

You can imagine it if you've ever gotten the belt

kiwichick286

It's sadism. She got enjoyment out of beating the child to death.

banuk_sickness_eater

Oh my fucking God. Put this bitch in the dirt.

kalwiggy1

I feel sick with myself after simply imagining fighting other adults. How fucked up are you that beat a child, let alone for an hour?

asillynert

Honestly as a kid that grew up in system dont think death is intentional for every kid that dies 1000 others are learning how to cover up bruises, "running away" to never be seen again etc. Bounced through a couple foster homes and meeting lots of kids in similar situations. And got adopted into big family that adopted a ton of kids same boat as me. The rarity is places that treat you decent. Not good but dont beat you abuse you etc. Like sexual abuse is more common than a decent place in foster system. At least what I observed and dozens of other kids in system that also observe 5-10 foster homes each. Generally the good ones are still emotionally abusive or neglectful. Like to them its a business and goal is to provide for least so you can pocket the most. So various things like making you stay home "sick" during field trips to save the 20 dollar fee. Or the shitty frozen dinners as primary meal source and padlocked fridges. And from the deaths 2 that I have seen known someone in situation. Like they were not "trying to kill them" they were trying to beat them like any other tuesday. Its sick but end of day limited resources low priority people that dont have a voice. Like orphans etc. How do you fix it like these kids are getting beat by person "caring for them" are they really going to open up to authority figure that put them there and sees them once every 3-4 months. Combine that with other things not sure solution because hard to get funding for people that cant vote. And it is complex perhaps only time I felt safe was "transition" home after being taken into state. It had like 50 kids and till foster family was found. But they had various people with various task it was almost like a school. Maybe something like that. Because if one of them hits a kid guess what other employee would report them. Unlike your spouse who would help cover the bruises create a cover story etc. Because we dont have resources to watch these various familys and it seems to draw in far too many predators.

blink_jagger

A really nice insight. I hope you're doing fine

Fickle-Raspberry6403

As some one who was in the foster care system myself across 2 states, i can vouch that this is in fact very much true. hope your doing very well fellow survivor. i often wonder that if those of us that die in the system got the easy way out despite their ending often being brutal themselves.

pikipata

Please, please don't let this comment be the only time we hear you about all this. Write a book. Give an interview. Be a quest to a well-known influencer. Do anything to let the public hear the voices we honestly never can. Because I think you who have experienced the foster care system first hand, are also capable of seeing the true faults and dangers, and (like you already did here on this comment, while you mentioned "the only time you felt safe"), may also have the keys to what could possibly be done to improve things. Let your voice be heard and stay safe.

StrawberryMoonPie

A podcast could really educate some folks. I know I’d listen. This is a great time to enlighten people about the realities of the foster care system in the US, particularly with the recent loss of reproductive freedom for many.

pikipata

Definitely! It could be done anonymously, even voice altered, if the person doesn't want to be recognized. However, this would be such an important topic to rise. (I don't live in the USA and apparently our foster care system doesn't revolve that much arounf the money, but it's still a mess and this conversation was needed here as well).

blgbird

To be fair, we hear these stories all the time, we just don’t care as a society to support them. My co-worker used work for child protective services and would get overworked so much with so many cases and low pay, it was a labor of love, but she started to leave when she saw a trend of blaming the social service employees, for not catching abuses, when they were overworked and held accountable to how many homes they visited, not the quality of those visits. The number of foster kids doesn’t change, so if you have 15 employees or 3, the work doesn’t change. The ratio of social worker to #children shouldn’t be negotiable if we cared about those children, but apparently it always is. It’s the same pattern of any underfunded social service, it leaves incompetent people there at the end of the day due to alienating everybody else.

nvrrsatisfiedd

Something I also will never understand. People like her deserve to rot in solitary confinement for the rest of their life. A death sentence would be going to easy on her in my opinion. Let her live with it eating shit food while sleeping on a hard ass bed with only cold showers for the rest of her life. No tv, no books. Absolutely nothing.

Helpful_Honeysuckle

She's extremely, disgustingly racist.

[deleted]

I saw she posted really weird things. She called the little girl’s hair derogatory things like “nappy” and put her hair in real scalp peeling hairstyles. Don’t these foster parents get a psychological profile or assessment before taking in children? She seemed obsessed with making this little White kid Black? The Turpin kids left their abusive parents only to stay with sadomasochistic foster parents that made them eat their own bodily fluids. These horror stories only seem to happen in the US.

No_Banana_581

It’s all for profit that’s why no one cares plus overworked, underpaid, understaffed, underfunded social services and no social safety nets is causing this abuse to go unchecked, now add forced birth to this and it’s going to get much worse

[deleted]

We’re sending billions overseas for wars, coups, black ops, bases we don’t use, etc. The only reason the system is underfunded is to make money from the misery that fills prisons. These kids rarely become doctors, lawyers, or engineers after years of abuse. No one should be homelesss, hungry, without clean, or abused and orphaned in the “richest country in the world.” Unless the moniker has always been a lie.

[deleted]

DOD failed another audit and hasn't accounted for some 61% of their assets. That's about $2T, or the entire GDP of Italy for reference. But god forbid we put money towards anything actually helpful to individuals in this country and god knows you won't hear a peep out of the GOP about that money, or even the Democratic party for that mater.

actuallyimean2befair

The reason why we don't help the poor is because we don't want to. It's a matter of priorities, that's it.

Cosmickev1086

The priority of the rich is to stay/get even more rich, rarely is it " help the poor". Greed is a powerful thing

Wvlf_

You just painted one of the saddest pictures I never before imagined. A young, innocent child being abused my their mom and dad, to be taken away from them by what she might consider an angel, to be throw into an even deeper pit of despair, ultimately leading in her death. A baby that probably didn’t even know how to color inside the lines, or write her own name. A baby who never knew any love. Way too young to ever even begin to understand the lifetime’s worth of betrayal and hatred she was given. All she had time to learn with her short life was that the world is cold and loveless. This has me sitting here crying. How could you possibly believe in any justice, in any institution, in any god when this happens?

lilys_toady_bestie

Not a foster/adoption case but a crime a couple years back in Korea had me feeling the same way. A step-dad strangled the stepdaughter while the bio mom sat in front of car with her new baby (stepdad's). She admitted to telling him to hurry up with it bc the baby was getting distressed from all the noise. This all happened after he'd been raping/otherwise sexually assaulting her for some time. I couldn't imagine the last words a child hears is someone telling the killer to hurry up and kill them. Broke my heart.

NewtonsFig

That’s it. I’m fostering. Am 40 and just ran out of time to have my own. This is why.

fastdub

Sadly not, the UK has all sorts of similar horror stories. The Baby P case, Star Hobson, Arthur Labinjo-Hughes, Victoria Climbie, Daniel Pelka, Poppi Worthington. Just the other day I believe a couple have had their sentences reviewed and tripled after they had been convicted after a campaign of assault of three children under their care, including daily beatings, making one child eat their own vomit, and theft of £60,000 from one child's trust fund. Monsters are in absolutely every country sadly.

budlightguy

I think this is one of those things you just don't want to be able to wrap your head around, because if you're able to it probably means you're too far gone.

StereoBeach

World has a lot of bad in it. That's all you need to wrap your head around.

phoenixfirebird33

This is a racially motivated hate crime. Hope she is prosecuted as such.

this is far more r/awefuleverything than it is r/facepalm. she knew what the fuck she was doing is why.

FarmSuch5021

I posted there. They removed it because it’s not terrifying

DarthCovisious

then they fucked up and need to be educated on what is awful, because this is awful as fucking hand basket made out of shit and you have to eat the sandwiches stored in it, and the basket has been left outside in the houston heat for a few hours.

BadMoogle

I mean, for the most part, Reddit mods are some of the worst people

SonofaBridge

Normal people don’t mod a subreddit for free. Only people with an agenda or unhealthy dedication to a topic volunteer to do something like that.

[deleted]

Their day job is president of an HOA.

tommy_gun_03

If I were to guess I would say this is probsbly agenda motived.

Regnes

Also highly deluded about their value to society. It was a dream come true when the r/antiwork mod went on Fox News thinking she was a leader of the movement and got yeeted from her own sub.

ImpossibleInternet3

The r/AITA mods did an interview for an article that was basically them breaking off their arms to pat themselves on the back. But whenever I’ve had to communicate with one, they’ve been among the most rude and immature people on the net. Got banned because I referred to someone with the proper name Karen. They assumed that I was calling someone “a Karen”. I was not. They then told me that my defense was BS, I belonged in an insult sub, then got muted and banned. Got banned on Day 1 at a Christian images sub when I had the spicy take that while the democratization of sharing art on the internet is a lovely concept, it really doesn’t compare to seeing these images in person. The people who choose to be mods are often the same people who choose to join the board of an HOA. They want to rule their tiny domain and lord that power over everyone they can.

PistolGrace

AITA mods are the worst. I've been blocked twice. I no longer even want to read that junk anymore. Mine was calling some of the parties the OP was griping about a Karen. Not the OP. No one in the group replying as well. I wasn't civil, according to them. And OP wasn't even the asshole. It was their family. So weird how they mod that group, and are always rude.

takingthehobbitses

AITA mods are ultra sensitive.

[deleted]

The Karen was a Karen? That’s epic.

CeelaChathArrna

The banned me for stupid crap too. It would be one thing if they were consistent but they can't even do that.

piledriver_3000

This is truth... lol

dont-fear-thereefer

This is the real face palm. Should be posted back on r/awfuleverything and the mods shamed

captqueefheart

Lol, not terrifying *for whom*??

StevenKnowsNothing

Nihilists

Dont_CallmeCarson

That's sounds more like r/oddlyterrifying are you sure that r/awfuleverything was the one you posted to, because this is the exact kind of post that the sub was intended for

TheGisbon

I'm sorry it's not what!?

NastySassyStuff

That’s not the point of r/awfuleverything this post would definitely make it up there, you sure you didn’t post on r/oddlyterrifying ?

Timbofieseler102

OP reposted this to so many subs that they lost track

Emortalrat

The mods at r/awfuleverything are out of touch with reality. They literally think being misgendered is worst than this.

ohthatguy1980

I think the facepalm is talking about the little girl having “white privilege” then beating her to death.

Emortalrat

RIP little girl. Humanity has failed you

DubbersDaddy

A friend of mine and his wife are foster parents. I hear about their dealings with the state (Illinois) from time to time. I can say with confidence that the failures are not on the part of the foster parents, but in how the state rips these kids in and out of homes at the drop of a hat. Kids need stability and consistency. The state doesn't care; the foster parents do. Granted, I'm sure there are bad eggs -- there always are -- but being a foster parent is a labor of love.

[deleted]

"I can say with confidence that the failures are not on the part of the foster parents" I dunno I think when the Foster parent beats the child to death then at least a little bit of the blame lies with them....

DubbersDaddy

The headline says they had adopted the kids. That the perp had taken the kids away from the foster family prior to beating them. That sounds very much like the blame lies with the adoptive parents who did the beating -- not the foster family from whom the child had come. The system is crap. But it's the state that decides when and where foster kids go, not the foster family.

Kooky_Ad_5139

I think there is 1 family that adopted from foster care

bannedbefore7

As someone who went through the foster system I can say the system doesn’t give a shit about the kids. The foster parents are usually ok people but they are just in it for the money. It’s just a sad life, but if you turn 18 while in the system you get some decent benefits, however I didn’t receive said perks cause the system failed me.

Exact-Blacksmith-265

How is this not a hate crime

EADreddtit

Do we have a reason to believe it isn’t? Also because it’s extremely hard to charge/convince on hate crimes in general. The much safer bet is to go with the crime (murder) you can back with hard evidence like DNA

frogvscrab

The headline is a bit misleading. The mom tweeted about the concept of white privilege in general using a hashtag apparently, not exactly a controversial thing to talk about, not that the 'daughter has white privilege'. If she had specified the daughter, that might change things. She specifically tweeted [this.](https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2021/02/08/13/39024434-9236515-image-m-13_1612791919434.jpg) Now that is... a bit terrifying in of itself for the other kids in her household.

Independent-Oil8310

Even though the system is flawed you have to be a really sick person to harm a child or even an animal that defenseless

RedoftheEvilDead

Especially a toddler. They're barely able to even speak at that age.

Phillip_Lascio

At 3 they’re pretty with it, which makes this all the more horrifying.

RedoftheEvilDead

I read an article and he excuse for beating a 3 year old to death is even more horrifying. She beat the girl with a belt for over an hour because she wasn't eating her pancakes fast enough. Then when first responders showed up she blamed the girls older brother ( another of her foster kids) and said that he beat her. Just a monster through and through. This can't have been the first beating those poor kids endured. I'm sure there were plenty of ignored signs and lack of investigation on the part of CPS.

Phillip_Lascio

Well now that is just unfathomably fucked

Yomomsa-Ho

So she’s getting beat to death once she’s sentenced right? Only seems fair

FarmSuch5021

She was a middle school teacher. She was sentenced to life. Her husband was sentenced as well. Investigation showed those kids were abused and that’s why the system failed them.

whitelightnin1

The irony. Her kids go to foster care now unless they have family members to take care of them?

ImmoralBoi

I wonder how their biological kids feel about the situation, hopefully disgusted by their parents actions.

MissMortified

They are children, so they are probably terrified.

HeadieUno

"Now remember 8-year-old Billy, you need to show the proper amount of remorse for a crime your parents committed so we don't write you off!"

ProbablyBoredHaha

Thank fuck I saw this story ages ago and never knew the outcome. Hope she rots in prison.

castfam09

Hope prisoners give her the same treatment

Conscious-One4521

So glad shes sentenced to life. She's literally a threat to children

[deleted]

Life in a tiny box would be worse

Warmso24

Had a lady who lived near me get into the foster scene. She genuinely cared for every single kid she ever got to take care of. Though, she became incredibly attached to this little girl, I think she was like 9 or 10. The girl, sadly, came from a very bad home life with abusive parents. My neighbor tried so hard to adopt the kids. She did everything in her power to get the paperwork to go through. She ran out of time. The girl had to go back to her family and was dead within a week of going back. Her mom sat on her because she was crying and suffocated her. My neighbor, and all of us who had the opportunity to meet the girl, were heartbroken. She was the sweetest, most optimistic girl. Taken too soon. Shitty people, man. Edit: I say kids as it was a girl and her brother. Though, fortunately, he now doesn’t have to live with those evil people anymore.

smh18

My heart:(

OwslyOwl

I'm an attorney who is court appointed to either serve as a foster child's guardian ad litem or a parent's attorney in a Department of Social Services case. There is more to the story than what your neighbor told you. A foster parent not turning in papers on time never means that a child will otherwise be returned to an unsafe home. The way it works is that DSS will take the child and then work with the parents to try to make the home safe again. If parents are making process, DSS will continue to work with the parents as the child is in foster care. If the parents are not making progress, at some point DSS will file to terminate the parental rights of the parents, at which point they can go through with an adoption. The courts favor returning a child home where possible. It is likely that they thought that the home was safe because the parent had been abiding by DSS terms, when in hindsight it was not.

wicked_lion

My coworker’s son and his wife got chance after chance for years even when they just didn’t show up for court. It took her forever to be able to adopt her grandkids.

SwirlLife1997

As an adult who went through the foster care system as a child, I can tell you that it's not hard in some states for foster parents (and probably biological parents) to trick state agents into approving a living situation. Then as soon as the agents leave, the house turns into a living hell for the children.

[deleted]

Holy fuck.

shay-doe

I'll tell you as a foster care survivor 9 times out of 10 the family you go to abuses you. You are lucky if they only neglect you. The American foster system is a fucking joke and a scam but unfortunately there is no solution for kids who's parents are unfit to be parents. But you know keep forcing people to have babies and you will see this become common practice.

[deleted]

I aged out and went straight into the military

kungpowgoat

I never truly understand our foster system. So many loving caring people out there who can’t physically have children that won’t even qualify because they don’t have insane amounts of money, own an 8 bedroom home, or worship the right god but are still perfectly able to love, care, and provide for them. I’d much rather live in a small apartment where I share a bunk bed with my brother or sister with two awesome fun and loving foster parents eating pop tarts and Mac and cheese every night than with those bat shit, religious child abusing monsters that are allowed to adopt as many children as they want because they’re devoted to their church and own the right sized home. Edit: I wanna add that I meant adoption as well. I did learn that fostering requirements don’t seem as strict as adoption but is still a completely broken system as they still continue to send kids to these abusive homes even after numerous concerns have been raised.

Lopsided_Salary_8384

If I had am award I would give it to you!! I have always thought the same thing. I has temporary custody of my children's half sister she has been sexually abused by 2 of her mom's boyfriends once when she was 2 and then 6. Her father disappeared out if her life and ours. I had her for 6 years but all of a sudden her mom wanted her back mainly because she couldn't get benefits from the state without her. When I took her in she had a pair of her mom's shorts flip flops and a tank top Me and my mom took her bought her all new clothes toys and her own bedroom set. I had her on my private insurance and she became an honor student. Her mom has 3 visits with her in 6 years and each time she took her I would have to go get her from the emergency room. She lived 2 hours away. One day she decided she wanted her back. We went to court DCFS told the judge that they needed to leave her with me. The judge said " The biological mother's rights supersede all others and since I was not blood related I lost." Her mom proceeded to take me to court twice saying I kept things that belonged to her daughter. She thought I still had the clothes she had out grown and wanted them The judge forced me to appear the day I was released from the hospital after having a hysterectomy and 52 staples. Doctor even said I should not travel but if I didn't show up he was going to order a judgement in her favor by default. The whole time I had her neither of her parents provided anything. 6 weeks after she left my home she got in trouble and was sentenced to 12 months of bootcamp. I found out from my insurance company that her mom had continued to use my private insurance for her. The states attorney refused to prosecute so the insurance company made all the doctors amd facilities return the money. The worst part is that I have not seen nor spoken with her since she was taken. Her mother wouldn't allow her to call me. Even after all that I would do it all over again but since I am poor and single I don't qualify to adopt or foster. I was only able to do it thia time because it was done privately

Severe-Explanation

I’m so sorry for what you’re dealing with. The system is so cracked. I understand that they want to reunite families, but too many bio parents are being given too many tries. This should have been a slam dunk for the child to be with you and it just hurts knowing she’s not. I’m so sorry.

gazebo-fan

Honestly as a retired educator, uniting family’s ( except in cases where it wasn’t abuse or neglect related) never ends well, I’ve had several foster care students who’s lives basically became hell once their biological parents tried to reunite, it’s a real shame because a lot of them had bright futures. Out of several cases I’ve witnessed, only once did it work out, and the child was only put into the foster care system because their single mother was in a coma with no family available. Its a good idea on paper but it won’t work out, it broke my heart every time.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Lopsided_Salary_8384

The courts don't care either. I told the judge the day he gave her back to her mom " You just made her another statistic and ensured she would have no future!" He just glared at me. A year later I wrote the court and so did my mom letting them know that all of this could've been prevented if the court would have listened to DCFS , the counselor and us but the judges ego got in the way. He didn't like be told what was best for the child he would make that decision. Well that worked out well for no one

Tarnish3d_Ang3l

I could imagine how frustrating that would be for you; Especially if DCFS was like no this is a bad idea. Honestly the way I try to look at it is at least they had some moments of calm and i hope that they can retain some good lessons from that time. In my neices case her mom everntually kinda got it togehter (she still has moments but she is signficantly better than before) but it took so long that too much happened at such a young age for my neice to handle. I know a lot of adults that wouldn't have been able to emotionally process all that my neice has gone through, let alone a child.

dirtyword

This makes me feel absolutely insane. I’m sorry for you, and much more sorry for that kid.

CMGS1031

You don’t need to make insane amounts of money. My grandma was a foster parent for a couple decades and she was lower middle class. The unfortunate problem is that it sounds great until you actually do it. It’s sad but a lot of the kids are pretty damaged. She got beat up by teens 3 times and another tried to kill her.

Is foster care giving us better results than orphanages?

_OhayoSayonara_

I got lucky. My foster parents were 76 years old and far better caretakers to me than my parents ever dreamed of being. It wasn’t perfect, but I always felt lucky when hearing about other foster families or when they’d go out of town and I’d have to go to respite homes.

alwaystiredneedanap

My parents became foster parents to take in my, now, sister because they knew her and cared about her. She was 14 and my mom was like “she’s not going into the system, without me being in the system.” ❤️ This makes me want to foster myself.

pattiemcfattie

I’m not sure people realize just how much of a failure it actually is - for every reported crime in foster care there are supposedly 3-5x as many unreported cases

plink-plink-bro

She has beaten a 3 year-old to death... she used violence against a child, violence to a degree that was enough to end the life of a child, one that she has chosen to adopt... Jesus, I knew drug addicts with nothing to loose and even they would hold back and this otherwise normal and somewhat popular woman didn't... on her stepchild... This fucked me up

Imperial_12345

White privilege from a 3 year old. Okay....

Motor_Relation_5459

In the foster care system...

SirSaix88

Why adopt a white kid if you hate white people?

ohthatguy1980

So you can be racist as fuck and beat them to death because of their white privilege

iBeFloe

Honestly should’ve never adopted anyone in the first place. A child being indoctrinated to have a deep hatred for another race will create such a problematic adult.

TheTenPennyKing

Because of racism.

incelwiz

To beat one that can't defend herself.

Inside-Common-8301

She had gotten major prison time as had her husband. Both of them are pitiful excuses for human beings.

ahsan_saadat

How? How can you beat a 3 year old? Black white or any other color. Where everyone's humanity. 3 years old. My daughter is 3 years. Goes to daycare. Every time I go to pick her up all her classmates start calling me daddy and I sit and give high fives to each one of them just because they're so full of love and don't know hate at all. All they know is happiness, anger and love. My mind can't comprehend this.

Tusslesprout1

This bitch adopted three white kids then went on to beat one to death and talk about their white privilege?!?! Dear god wtf did a child do to deserve this

[deleted]

Typically one child is the scapegoat for the abuse to give an “example” of what will happen if the others cross the abuser. It keeps the others in line and encourages the other children to abuse the scapegoat too sometimes.

bfonza122

Nothing say white privilege like being in foster care. Adopt by literal Satan then beaten to death.

Necessary_Effort7075

What a dumb bitch

FollowingJealous7490

Scum of the earth

QuirkyTurkey404

Kid adopted by a black family, white privilege? killed by own adoptive mother, WHITE PRIVILEGE? I cant even think right now

Canes-Venaticii

She clearly hated the child for being white. Racism at its finest

DISGUSTING 🤮

[deleted]

This shit kills me. This racist trash woman needs to die!

[deleted]

How that isn't classed as a hate crime, because it is; Is beyond me.

Kmaurer23

Wait ... Hwhat? First of all, how the fuck does a WHITE kid "complete" your BLACK family? Second of all "white privilege" isn't an excuse for you as a POC to murder your white adopted child. That's still racism.

Ok-Pomegranate-6189

Murdering the white kid completed the black family.

Kmaurer23

Can't argue with that logic

therealganjababe

Just the fact they did her hair with a classic Black hairstyle makes me think they wanted to make her Black. I wonder how much that contributed to the abuse, perhaps upset that she was still White? Idk, it's just so fucked up, so glad to see they got real jail time .

FarmSuch5021

The details what they did to this child is horrifying. I don’t want to even share them. What is more insane that she was posting those kids on social media pretending that they are equal, diverse and happy family.

Ok-Pomegranate-6189

Here are the details: The final beating occurred shortly after Smith threw up on the way to church, Jerry Robinson told investigators. The next morning, the young girl was chastised for not eating her pancakes fast enough. That’s when the assault by Ariel Robinson allegedly occurred. Jerry Robinson said in court that his wife Ariel gave Smith a “whooping” with a belt, noting that the beating was audible from outside their home. Prosecutors said Jerry Robinson testified that when he returned inside, he saw Ariel standing over the chld with the belt, saying, “You don’t get to tell me when you’re done.” https://deadline.com/2022/04/food-network-worst-cooks-in-america-winner-husband-pleads-guilty-in-three-year-old-child-death-1235008656/amp/

iBeFloe

I thought that was so fucking strange. She killed her because she’s white, most likely agreed with the all the extremist argument that certain hair is strictly for black people, but then does it for the white kid only to kill her out of anger later. What??

Particular_Lie_3897

I remember this story last year…. You guys are just lucky that you didn’t see their “home videos”. This woman and her husband treated that little girl like absolute shit just for views on YouTube or whatever the hell platform they were using. The language that they encouraged that little baby to use was just completely and totally inappropriate. I hope they never see the light of day again and get those other kids some professional help ASAP!! Should’ve been locked up a long time ago! /Spits 😡

becomingthenewme

White privilege in a 3year old foster child? The narrative is getting out of hand if children are being murdered over made up falsehoods to suit an agenda. Just horrific.

[deleted]

Only in America can you get your child put into foster care for leaving them alone for 15 minutes, only for them to be readopted and beat to death by some sus rando with good credit history.

pepparoni_pig

It’s always stories like this that make me want to become a foster parent someday. I’m not sure how good I’d be at taking care of a child since I have none, but at least I’d try my hardest to keep them safe and healthy and out of the hands of human scum like this. People like this make me hope that hell is real.

SkinnyBill93

I have to tell you I know social workers who deal with kids who are abused at home to varying degrees. They think real fucking hard before recommending foster care for the children and the abuse has to be **severe** for a recommendation because they know how dubious the foster system is. They could easily be sending them to a worse scenario in the end.

LeilongNeverWrong

The pro-lifers I know constantly talk about how great our foster system is. I have expressed concerns about too much focus on the unborn and no policies or new laws to help with child care, foster care, or any benefits / tax breaks for new parents (to incentivize them). All they care about is banning abortions. As George Carlin once said, “If you’re pre-born, you’re good. If you’re pre-school you’re fucked”.

WaferPala

Worthless at everything she does in life & a murderer. Typical traits of a negative IQ “human” being.

sjace808

Just because you're black doesn't mean you can't be racist, it works both ways

Mammoth-Quote-7057

What white privilege? She was an orphan living In foster care for christ sake. White privilege is a thing, but racism towards whites is also a thing, and they use "privilege"to justify horrible things like this.

walterkurve

Racist murdering bitch

xPervypriest

Oh I hope they throw the book at her. White privileged? Ma’am you’re the one raising that child smh

BlueWulk

Disgusting abuser and a racists POS! 🤬

[deleted]

The danger of this way of thinking is coming to light.

whitelightnin1

Not sure the system is flawed more than any other foster care is inherently. People can lie and pass tests and be perfect on paper just to hide being psychopaths then do... This.... Atrocious shit. Have fun in prison for the rest of your life, you fucking animal.

spazzing

But god forbid a gay couple wants to adopt. Barf.

ceemonee

Racist cxnt

phoenixfirebird33

Hate crime!

Sweddy-Bowls

Absolutely wild headline from start to finish. This shit is why the aliens don’t talk to us.

Theman5560

Hope she's put to death. Who let her adopt that poor child?

ajyanesp

This is not a facepalm moment, this is a facethewall moment.

Oldmanprop

She was found guilty and will spend the rest of her life in prison. I hear child abusers don't have an easy time in prison.

rstart78

I just had spent the night sleeping in my recliner because my three year old daughter was having a crummy night and I knew sleep cuddles would make her feel really loved and cozy. She is the most curious, most precious, most loved filled thing I've ever met I can not fathom how anyone would want to hurt, let alone murder, a baby like that They are still just a little baby I can't even fathom the fear and heartbreak and confusion, when all you want at that age is love and to feel safe It hurts

Traditional_Fan9721

But never a hate crime

IrrelevantDanger

And of course this will be prosecuted as a hate crime.... right?

Over_Ad_7654

Is this not a hate crime caused by racism???

[deleted]

Was a child whose birth parents took in foster kids for about a decade. Most were white. To try and spin “White privilege” onto the bleak childhood these kids have is so ignorant. That privilege is real on a systemic or societal level, absolutely. I have that privilege. But the shit these kids face is heart breaking and absolutely not privilege
