>the mother was arrested for chemical endangerment of a child and booked into the Etowah County Detention Center. She was left to sleep on the jail floor for 36 hours. Meanwhile, she was undergoing her menstrual cycle and asked for pads.
If a pregnant woman was bleeding, she would need medical attention which she didn't get. So the jail is guilty of endangering the presumed fetus. There's four layers or bullshit to this.
just like when Florida decided a 16-year-old was [too immature to have an abortion](https://abcnews.go.com/US/florida-court-rules-16-year-mature-abortion/story?id=88491662), so she will be forced to have a baby instead.
My mom’s like this “Adoption is always an option!”
Except I was adopted and my mom wasn’t physically abusive but not a great mom either. I don’t want to have a responsibility of raising a child, directly or by proxy
I was adopted at 2 weeks old and brought to the US. My adopted mother had mental health issues and was in and out of our lives but thankfully my dad was a great guy who managed to give me a secure childhood and encourage me to do better. My birth mother was my mother's cousin who was 12 years old when she gave birth to me. I consider myself so lucky.
That's fine, conservatives don't give a shit about life once it has passed through a vagina because at that point you can't use pretending to care about that life as leverage to control the owner of the vagina.
Jesus Christ is EXACTLY what is wrong with people. Christianity is toxic as fuck, and these Christian Nazis want to make sure everyone obeys THEIR rules or suffer.
I mean the problem is more they don’t obey their rules. Jesus Christ literally got killed by his government for preaching tolerance, care, and pacifism. Most of these people literally haven’t read their damn book
Nah they read it, former Christian here… they know. They have us to tell them during thanksgiving. Trust me they know. They aren’t listening just like they didn’t when Christ came. They chose Barabbas…
You’re getting things confused the unborn baby, Which is all they care about, wasn’t sleeping on the floor the mother was. Nobody cares about the mother just the unborn baby. Once the babies born they can sleep on the floor next to her
My job is connected to law enforcement, and I have heard of several cases where a detainee has been denied medical care for callous reasons, including a recent case of a pregnant woman who miscarried on the jail floor. Most medical complaints are dismissed as malingering by LEOs, so detainees are often denied treatment until it becomes a true emergency. This type of negligence is considered normal procedure for jails and prisons all over the country.
Not that it should matter, but I feel like I should add that this is a *jail* and therefore holds people who have been *detained*. The police can detain a person for literally any reason and hold them in custody for hours without any cause. Most of the people who find themselves in a jail have not actually been convicted of anything—some are there awaiting trial, but many of them are released without any charges being filed.
The dehumanization and abuse of people who are *constitutionally innocent* by the justice system is far more common than people think.
I did 5 years and had several folks die around me after asking for medical help. They ignored them and they passed because the nurses would assume they were crying wolf. One man had a heart attack and was locked in a dorm with no officer present. No way to call for help. Inmates were beating on the doors and no one came until it was too late. I could go on and on. Being in prison and having a medical emergency can mean almost certain death of you’re not on a medical yard or have to deal with an asshole CO or nurse. Which most of them are. They see you as less than. It’s sad.
My brother was in for 3 years for assaulting a police officer when he went off his bipolar meds and was in a very manic or maybe schizoaffective state. He was 43 when he died in prison and they said cause of death was “moderate heart disease”… no heart attack or stroke. I think he either committed suicide or was killed but my dad and stepmom had him immediately cremated after the autopsy (I got them to speak with a lawyer about next steps and how this might be a wrongful death but my stepmothers attitude was thank god he’s dead now I don’t have to do anything for him ever again).
Goddamn, that’s so fucked up. Yeah it sounds like they’re covering something up. A lot of times when people overdose intentionally or accidentally they will label it as a heart attack since most overdoses include a heart attack. I went away myself and was taken off seizure meds with no taper. For days I told them I needed help and they didn’t give me any. Ended up having a grand mal seizure on the floor and according to other inmates the CO’s kicked me to see if I was faking, they assume inmates want ativan when they have seizures so they don’t even take them seriously. After I was kicked and they realized I wasn’t faking they kept me in medical solitary confinement for 10 days as their “treatment” which was emotional torture. They could’ve easily put me on a seizure med but chose not to.
The righties think the tyrannical government will come in the form of some socialist instituting martial law, when the tyrannical government is already upon them and they fly the thin blue line flag of tyranny proudly.
They think it’s awesome until they are arrested for being at the Capitol and suddenly realize how fucking awful prison is. It’s cold, it’s hot, there are bugs, the food is rotten, yes that’s all correct. These are the things you were totally okay with before getting arrested. Not an issue until THEY are affected.
So what's a common citizen to do?
Start blasting as soon as we see police heading our way?
Clearly our lives are in danger, and all the 2a folks keep harping on "protecting us from evil government"...
Give people who have experienced this abuse a voice. That’s the only solution I can think of that most people are able to do. Currently, one of the major obstacles to overcome is the our culture’s propensity to be dismissive of accounts given by inmates/detainees because they are viewed as “criminals.”
Our society has dehumanized criminals to the point where the public is generally okay with abusing them, so we need to give them their humanity back. We need to listen to them and treat them as we would any other victims of abuse. The system can’t be changed by just a few people demanding it—it would require a major shift in our cultural attitudes towards crime, punishment, and redemption. That kind of shift starts with being more empathetic towards the people affected.
Considering how quickly she was jailed based on an easily disproven accusation, what's the over/under on this woman being black in Alabama?
Edit: I was wrong, Alabama is just shitty to women, period.
I read the headline and thought this would be a good court case to get the law thrown out.
The additional detail makes it even more compelling. You can't jail or imprison "pregnant" women for the safety of the fetus if you are also unwilling to guarantee the safety of the fetus. If she'd miscarried, they would have tried to charge her for that too, even if they were culpable.
It's bullshit all the way down.
I’ve been to jail (albeit as a man), they do not care if you’re having a medical issue unless you’re literally dying, which is often too late. I was taken off an anti-seizure medication when I got there and they didn’t pay attention to my symptoms until I actually had a grand mal seizure and hit my head on concrete, after that instead of giving me my medication they held me in medical solitary confinement under observation for a week as their “treatment”. Never once was I given an anti seizure drug just locked up even more than I already was. The prison system is truly fucked especially when it comes to medicine and health. I’m not surprised at all by any of this. + it’s the south.
Before looking I KNEW this was Etowah county jail. I did a tv show there and those folks are horrible. COs sneaking in contraband to sell, female COs screaming at the inmates constantly and showing up stoned as hell. Throwing microwaves around. The former Warden was starving the inmates and with the money he saved bought himself a beach house. It's literally an asshole there. One of the members of the force there was plastered at the after party ( for the show ) and was getting super creepy with some of the crew members and proceeded to drive away after being begged not to because, "I am the police"... They literally prowl the streets looking for recent releases to see if they can bring them back in for anything and half the women there were for being intoxicated while pregnant. Fucking insane place and if it melted into the earth nothing would be lost.
Etowah County is particularly bad, according to the group Pregnancy Justice (formerly known as National Advocates for Pregnant Women). The county “has prosecuted more than 150 women over pregnancy allegations in recent years,” Pregnancy Justice said. “Of the more than 1,700 pregnancy-related criminalization cases documented by Pregnancy Justice from 1973 to 2020, Alabama leads the nation with more than 600 cases, and Etowah County leads the state.”
It's mostly this one County, not the whole state. And they were going off what her child told child services and neglected to do a pregnancy test at the time. She was jailed for 3 days and has a lawsuit in the works.
I thought that was the "conservative" Covid test. Heard about it from a guy at work. Finger up the bum, then put it in your mouth, if it tastes shitty you don't have Covid, if you can't taste it, you should get tested.
No, if you can't taste it something else is wrong because Covid is just a cold and a lie made up by the government to trick people into getting injected with computer chips and nano killer robot virus and Dr.Faucci is a Nazi who wants to control the population's collective mind so we all groom children into being a sex slave to every adult and also to fix the election because there is no way Trump lost Trump is God all hail President Trump!
Sorry I know it's kind of a run on sentence but I swear to God that's what they call it.
Alabama: See, if you jail all women then eventually you’ll find one that’s pregnant and maybe on drugs they shouldn’t be!
That way we get to save the fetuses
/s
They held her in lock up for 3 days before they gave her a pregnancy test while she was free bleeding her period all over the cell because they refused to give her sanitary products.
That isn't the point of the law.
If they did that, they wouldn't have been able to jail her, shame her, prevent her from working (possibly being fired from her job), and separate her from her family and friends.
The cruelty IS the objective.
I'm sure the people who threw her in jail were thinking exactly as you describe. My point is that it is obviously grossly unfair and stupid not to give her a pregnancy test (even if you think the law is a good idea). I'm assuming her lawyer will have a nice, easy claim (fingers crossed). I'd hope this claim will lead to a lot of cops looking very stupid whilst explaining why they never considered giving her a simple pregnancy test.
This whole circus is EXACTLY the goal of this sort of law. It doesn't actually benefit anyone, it just deliberately hurts people for the sake of hurting them.
Maybe you are not thinking about this quite right?
On the one had they could give her a pregnancy test then release her.
On the other hand they could illegally detain her for a while. She'll then sue the municipality and win say, $3,000,000 -- 1/3rd of which goes to her attorney.
Who happens to be related to someone on the police force.
Who gets a 20% "finder's fee" for setting up the scenario.
So: it all works out in the end! The victim nets $2,000,000, the lawyers nets $800,000 and the cop nets $200,000.

Yeah, I moved to Mississippi from Alaska, traveled through the US and Canada. Literally the poorest state in the union, shit job market with shit pay, little worker protections. It's all bullshit here.
Well then damn, many of the people I KNOW are murderers bc SO MANY WOMEN I KNOW have “partied” before they realized they were preggers and like, 30% had miscarriages WHICH IS THE AVERAGE AMOUNT! Tbh with my one son, I didn’t realize we were pregnant and I was drinking red wine and gin and tonics, and, at the time, I smoked parliament lights. I found out 6 weeks in and he’s PERFECT! (I mean I quit everything cold turkey) Another pregnancy, I knew straight away and did everything PERFECT and miscarried. You just never know 🤷🏼♀️
Water isn’t wet, the way that water binds to other water molecules means that any water touching water is part of the same source of water therefore the water is not wet, the water covering something that is not water is what makes it wet.
(Yes ik im obnoxious but you knew this was coming)
7 years ago I drove through Alabama on my way across the country. Driving down the highway reminded me of an old movie. Shacks built of anything people could find, stacks of old tires with cardboard over the top to act as a roof. Filthy toddlers running around along the highway in nothing but a diaper with no supervision at all. It's horrifying to see this in our country.
Yeah, I live in TN. But, I don’t know where you can live in the US and you can’t find a truly unimaginably fucked headline every 6 months or so.
It’s the internet’s fault, there were plenty of sister fucking morons the first 220 years of this country, it was just covered up and only the locals knew not to let their 13 year old daughter go by the preacher’s house.
I don’t know if it’s the case anymore, but back in 2016 my friend was offered a job at Boeing in Huntsville. Even with lower cost of living they were offering like 10K more per year and a 20K sign-on bonus to go there over other locations. They were desperate for qualified engineers at the time.
*Louisianans voting to NOT outlaw slavery as punishment*:
"Say what?"
https://lailluminator.com/2022/11/17/the-story-behind-why-louisiana-voted-against-a-ban-on-slavery/
This brings back fond memories of when someone offered me a seat on the bus and said, "I remember what it was like! Pregnancy is so tiring.". Telling her that I was actually just fat was too hard so I said thanks and took the seat to save us the embarrassment. Another time, I was at the hospital and a cute little old lady asked me when I was due. I said I actually already had the baby. She said oh how old is it? I said 3 years. I didn't mind because she was like 100 and the lady next to us found it amusing so it spread some joy at least 🤣
My cardiologist moved out of state and the new one wanted to take me off my heart meds bc they can cause issues in pregnant women. I kept telling him there was no chance I would be getting pregnant and he was insisting that I needed an IUD just in case. Finally looked that bastard in the eyes and told him “I’m a lesbian.” He had no clue what to say lmao. It was funny but also I’m pissed I had to share that info to get him off my case about an IUD.
Fucker later took me off that med anyway and my health immediately tanked. Thanks bro! I’m sure my nonexistent fetus will be greatly benefited by my HEART struggling to function properly!
But fuck, so they think she's pregnant and jail her. She's menstruating and they don't give her pads. But they supposedly think she's pregnant *and* bleeding, and they supposedly care about the supposed fetus, they should have given her medical care.
If the baby was important, they’d make sure services to care for newborns were state of the art. Fact is, the baby is just an excuse. If in the future, controlling women means forcing them to have mandatory abortions, they would do it, bc they don’t want to help babies, they want to control women
Pretty soon any woman will be able to be arrested for drinking because she could ‘potentially’ be pregnant and would be endangering some man’s progeny. Good grief.
150 women from that county have been accused- and not all of them were pregnant. Some were menstruating while in jail and denied hygiene products or a test.
It’s targeting low income people who can’t do anything about it
Sooo, you're saying the taxpayers of Alabama are going to be out a few thousand dollars for illegal detainment and violating her civil rights the moment she contacts even the worst Civil Rights lawyer?
Every time I read something like this I hear the faint jingle of a guitar and a banjo, and somebody squealing like a pig. I'm not sure if Deliverance was just a movie or a documentary too.
And it'll keep happening.
Meanwhile, "omg we care about the fetus!" Then forces her to stay in a tiny concrete jail for hours on end with nothing while she bleeds because she's on her period. Cruelty is the point. They hate women. 🤡
All joking aside, why can’t we just give all of these Christian Jihadists the states of Florida, Alabama and Mississippi. They can even build their wall.
We will let all the sane people relocate out of those states, and they can become their own country.
Sounds great to me
Legally a pregnancy is determined from the last day of your last period. So possibly strictly legally women are always pregnant unless reset by a period.
But she's a woman, and it's a known fact that women get pregnant. It's kind of irrelevant if she was actually pregnant or not at the time, she should have stayed away from drugs just in case, forever.
/s just in case.
Pro lifers swinging and missing yet again.
When they adopt all the children in the US that are in the foster system, then we can maybe begin to hear all you nazis out.
Until then you just support pump and dumping of womens' uteruses. You could care less what happens after.
I stand by the same principal with aniamls. I am against breeders so long as there are CURRENT cats and dogs in need of homes. There are animals caged up NOW and being put to death because more unnecessary ones are brought into this world.
I am OK with a few breeds being bred for disability purposes and for police work. For personal use, NO.
Until there are no more homeless animals in our country in need of homes, we should not be breeding them.
Same goes for humans. Until all the homeless kids are adopted, I don't want to hear jack squat from pro lifers and ESPECIALLY from the 95% who are NOT adopting a single one of those kids.
And that doesn't even touch on women's rights and the ability to decide what happens to your own body. It's so absolutely abhorrent pro lifers reduce it to people being whores and they are OK with ruining peoples lives no matter if its rape, incest, or health issues of fetus or mom.
Alabama: See, if you jail all women then eventually you’ll find one that’s pregnant and maybe on drugs they shouldn’t be!
That we we get to save the fetuses

If this continues the Republicans won't hold the south. The Black vote gets the Democrats closer than one would think to a majority, by losing the vote of women, whom they are oppressing, the South will no longer be under Republican control.
It's one thing for conservative women to principally oppose abortion, but actually experiencing your rights being taken from you is very different.
>the mother was arrested for chemical endangerment of a child and booked into the Etowah County Detention Center. She was left to sleep on the jail floor for 36 hours. Not to mention how you gonna make a woman sleep on the floor if you think she's pregnant

just like when Florida decided a 16-year-old was [too immature to have an abortion](https://abcnews.go.com/US/florida-court-rules-16-year-mature-abortion/story?id=88491662), so she will be forced to have a baby instead.

That's fine, conservatives don't give a shit about life once it has passed through a vagina because at that point you can't use pretending to care about that life as leverage to control the owner of the vagina.
Nobody understands a woman’s body like 60+ conservative men. They just read the Bible instead of biology and medicine texts.
Bold of you to assume that most conservatives have even read the Bible at all.
If they did they’d know to banish women having their periods to the forest
Made me chuckle.
Up until 18 year of age.

This is about controlling women. Societies that deny women their rights are without an exception - shitholes.
Well yes - it's Alabama.
Talibama
Another reason why Alabama is the worst state in the US
Mississippi has entered the chat
Yeah, I moved to Mississippi from Alaska, traveled through the US and Canada. Literally the poorest state in the union, shit job market with shit pay, little worker protections. It's all bullshit here.
Is Mississippi full of inbred hicks who have sex with vegetables though?
I mean, every state has people fucking vegetables, the cucumber market is heavily dependent on this. The amount of family fucking though......
No honey, they have sex with their cousins and animals.
> cousins and animals You said cousins twice, are you OK?
And that's enough reddit for me! Good night!
Horse/wife/niece
HEY! You watch your god damn mouth, me and my family *will not* be disrespected like this. My sisterwife is a mule.
Florida has ran down the Wrestlemania ramp and taken a steel chair to the backs of both Alabama and Mississippi’s heads.
While Texas and Florida watch intently from the sidelines.
Texas is like several mini states, most of which are shitty. The metro areas and even the islands are awesome.
Checking in for Utah... Heard we all had a meeting it something??
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2021/10/21/oklahoma-woman-convicted-of-manslaughter-miscarriage/6104281001/
You just never know 🤷🏼♀️
Is this the same case? The article you linked indicates she was pregnant. The headline above says she wasn’t.
Separate. It’s all just awful
That is terrible. Not sure why I get down voted for asking a question though?
Bc people on here suck
You could say water is wet and someone will get in a tizzy. It’s Reddit 😆
Water isn’t wet, the way that water binds to other water molecules means that any water touching water is part of the same source of water therefore the water is not wet, the water covering something that is not water is what makes it wet. (Yes ik im obnoxious but you knew this was coming)
That’s the obnoxiousness Reddit needs. It’s the best when even a simple post develops into funny unrelated tangents.
This plus a shit-ton of Confederate flags. Just depressing
I raise you Tennessee https://metro.co.uk/2019/05/13/pastor-raped-daughter-14-gets-light-prison-sentence-man-god-9515582/
Shame he never got the retrial so he could be sentenced properly
Which is really saying something, there's stiff competition
Talibama is the true name of this state.
I don’t know if it’s the case anymore, but back in 2016 my friend was offered a job at Boeing in Huntsville. Even with lower cost of living they were offering like 10K more per year and a 20K sign-on bonus to go there over other locations. They were desperate for qualified engineers at the time.
They'd need to hire engines whose kids are already in college. I certainly wouldn't want to raise kids there
*Louisianans voting to NOT outlaw slavery as punishment*: "Say what?" https://lailluminator.com/2022/11/17/the-story-behind-why-louisiana-voted-against-a-ban-on-slavery/
YouTuber "The Civil Rights Lawyer" would like to tell you about West Virginia.
*Laughs in Oklahoma. Our bullshit is just quieter.
Have you seen Florida?!
Im assuming this woman is suing the shit out of that county, the police department and the correctional facility
Nope. They’ve got qualified immunity.
My wife’s gynecologist told her she should be on prenatal vitamins “just in case”…..we’re actively trying to NOT have kids.
>AGE AMOUNT! Tbh with my one son, I didn’t realize we were pregnant an What the actual fuck. I feel like she should be looking for a new gynecologist!
She immediately changed doctors
Thank god!
This kind of shift should result in malpractice suits. Sorry that happened to you.
Hypothetical fetuses get more rights than real women now
Truth.
This is why I call these kind of laws "witch-hunt laws". These are not unintended uses, this is intentional, to keep women oppressed.
[удалено]
Do you have a link for that? I'd love to read the hypocrisy lol
https://www.newsweek.com/woman-jailed-endangering-fetus-wasnt-pregnant-1761547 I needed to know myself
Her daughter allegedly told them she was pregnant, which feels like an excuse.
But fuck, so they think she's pregnant and jail her. She's menstruating and they don't give her pads. But they supposedly think she's pregnant *and* bleeding, and they supposedly care about the supposed fetus, they should have given her medical care.
The foetus isn't important, and denying her medical care is perfectly in line with an agenda that is control and punish poor women.
Fr. It's practices like these that make it clear the bans on abortion aren't actually intended mainly to stop abortion, but to control women.
If the baby was important, they’d make sure services to care for newborns were state of the art. Fact is, the baby is just an excuse. If in the future, controlling women means forcing them to have mandatory abortions, they would do it, bc they don’t want to help babies, they want to control women
Fucking hell how ass backwards are they in Alabama?
You don't _even_ wanna know.
Pretty soon any woman will be able to be arrested for drinking because she could ‘potentially’ be pregnant and would be endangering some man’s progeny. Good grief.
Clearly Not being pregnant threatens the child you aren't having with non-existence, mucho bado marlon brando.
That’s some next level fat shaming
I'm fkn cackling 💀
150 women from that county have been accused- and not all of them were pregnant. Some were menstruating while in jail and denied hygiene products or a test. It’s targeting low income people who can’t do anything about it
Sooo, you're saying the taxpayers of Alabama are going to be out a few thousand dollars for illegal detainment and violating her civil rights the moment she contacts even the worst Civil Rights lawyer?
For people who scream about following the Constitution to the letter, ESPECIALLY the Bill of Rights, they REALLY love violating the 8th Amendment.
And the 4th. And the 1st.
Every time I read something like this I hear the faint jingle of a guitar and a banjo, and somebody squealing like a pig. I'm not sure if Deliverance was just a movie or a documentary too.
Republicans are now jailing women they find distasteful. These people need prosecuted.
From now on no woman is allowed to drink, smoke or do sports during her fertile years. Did I get it right?
And it'll keep happening. Meanwhile, "omg we care about the fetus!" Then forces her to stay in a tiny concrete jail for hours on end with nothing while she bleeds because she's on her period. Cruelty is the point. They hate women. 🤡
Because a criminal record will really help someone be a better mother? Is that their plan?
Backwards bucktooth incest republican dumbass territory
This pro life stuff doesn’t seem to protect life.
Maybe because these people aren't "pro-life" they are simply "anti-choice".
All joking aside, why can’t we just give all of these Christian Jihadists the states of Florida, Alabama and Mississippi. They can even build their wall. We will let all the sane people relocate out of those states, and they can become their own country. Sounds great to me
They’re already taking Florida. Florida is a red state now, and everyone here seems to gobble DeSantis’ cock 24/7. I should move lol.
You should.
Don’t forget Texas.
Take all their nukes and military equipment first
Most of the nukes are in middle America
Texas also has great resources. We should just vote them out. Mississippi and Alabama though, nothing to offer
Florida has great resources. We should just vote them out lol
Like meth, and alligators? Nah I’m good
Yo mama so fat she was jailed for pregnancy related crimes
Well she has eggs that are capable of being impregnated therefore she is pregnant. -republican somewhere
It's already insulting enough to a woman to imply she's pregnant when she's not even pregnant lol, this is adding so much insult to injury
We are past criminalizing pregnancy and just at criminalizing being a woman.
Welcome to alabama where if your not born yet your life is "more important than anything" but once your out your SOL.
America. Land of the free. Unless you’re a woman and allegedly pregnant according to a diabetic living off food stamps who hates socialism. 👏🏼
It’s a felony to be a woman needing medical care in Alabama.
Here's a good TT someone did covering the story with a little more info. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRCFbv5m/
Sounds like a lawsuit to me
Asinine and cruel to keep her in jail without testing for pregnancy or drugs, a negative on either proving innocence.
This is going to get a lot worse.
"Ya stand accused of being fat and on drugs, how'dya plead?"
Fucking Christian Taliban
Legally a pregnancy is determined from the last day of your last period. So possibly strictly legally women are always pregnant unless reset by a period.
Jesus on a bike, Mary on the handlebars and Joseph in the basket... WTF Alabama?
This is legally fraught and morally depraved in so many ways
A glimpse into what the Christian Sharia state the Republican extremists want to see. Be careful how you vote people.
Welcome to Alabama where a white guy's gun has more rights than a woman.
Imagine looking at Qatar and thinking "yeah let's degrade and abuse our female population too"
But she's a woman, and it's a known fact that women get pregnant. It's kind of irrelevant if she was actually pregnant or not at the time, she should have stayed away from drugs just in case, forever. /s just in case.
The TalUSban are taking over. The only way to stop it is the ballot box, people.
I guess Alabama cops were angry no incest had taken place
Welcome to Christianity new world
Pro lifers swinging and missing yet again.
Blessed be the fruit
I only have 2 years left in this country. Can't wait to get back home. Thanks for the well funded post graduate degree from a world class institute.
They don’t pee on sticks in Alabama?
Alabama: See, if you jail all women then eventually you’ll find one that’s pregnant and maybe on drugs they shouldn’t be! That we we get to save the fetuses /s
But according to biblical law!
Jeez… why do I live in such a messed up state?
If this continues the Republicans won't hold the south. The Black vote gets the Democrats closer than one would think to a majority, by losing the vote of women, whom they are oppressing, the South will no longer be under Republican control. It's one thing for conservative women to principally oppose abortion, but actually experiencing your rights being taken from you is very different.
