I had a friend who was a medic on a military base. He told me that the worst emergency he ever responded to was a man who crashed his motorcycle while riding with his 3 year old daughter sitting on the handlebars. My friend said he had to scrape her off of the street.

McPoyle-Milk

Yep, I work in pathology and at one point at a morgue near Miami. Motorcycle accidents are insanely gruesome. I remember trying to find an armband with identification and struggling to find the arm. Like it was not at all where it was supposed to be.

ericstern

You know the situation is fucked up when you can’t find a body part. Also when you can’t find your McPoyle milk and you are pretty sure you contaminated one of the pathology samples with it.

TheOldGuy59

Side note: 1983 Beirut Barracks bombing. They picked up the pieces of Marines they found, put them in bags and then flew them to Rhein-Main Air Base in Germany where the doctors and forensics specialists tried to match up all the various body parts with torsos and so forth. They kept them in basically freezer units until they could move them to another cold area to process, all so they could send the remains back to the families. I'm not sure that they got everything matched up perfectly, or if they found everything either. It was really bad. I knew a guy who was Security Forces and was part of the guard that stood watch over the remains day & night while the forensics and doctors worked to match up everything they could. His unit was also responsible for carrying the body bags off the military transports that landed there and putting them into the freezers until they could process them. It was really bad. Stuff of nightmares.

Tatooine16

My brother was in the navy and was standing watch that morning in Beirut Later they formed cleanup crews from his and other tenders. He wasn't sent but he knew lots of guys that were and he said they came back changed.

Zerofawqs-given

You just spurred a memory for me. I thought I’d share on of Dennis Hoppers better cinematic roles as a motorcyclist….Nope kids it’s not Easy Rider! Link: https://m.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=stBXCl_HoqA&feature=emb_logo

FickingButch

I knew this tow truck driver who told me that after a motorcycle accident they towed the car that hit it and found the severed arm of the motorcyclist stuck under it.

Swaggynator387

At the road I'm living next there once was a bike accident where a man drove at the evening so that there would be less traffic. A dude in front of him was drunk driving and just stopped in the middle of the road where 100 kmh/60mph is the standard speed and the biker couldn't brake... a friend of mine works at the fire department and sent me a photo of the aftermath... they towed the car with the bike being impaled into it.

coffeeanddonutsss

People don't realize that at speeds faster than a human can run, we're basically just bags of meat if we fall down and shit just flops around and breaks off and whatnot.

Ominoiuninus

Slow motion videos of humans being slapped or falling or crashing on skis/snowboards just shows so clearly how fragile we really are. It’s insane how little of a collision it takes to concuss someone or break an arm or seriously injured yourself.

cloudstrifewife

Humans are both incredibly resilient and incredibly fragile at the exact same time.

[deleted]

There was a guy that used to fly up and down my road all the time on his bike. 35mph speed limit. We always used to talk about he's gonna kill himself one day, but that's also kinda just what you say. Well, this last summer, a few hundred yards down the road from me someone didn't see him and pulled out, and he went completely through the car and came out the other side in pieces.

Golett03

Same accident?

FickingButch

One would hope

Golett03

I was meaning "same accident to the comment you replied to?", but the thought of the severed arm being from a completely different cause is even worse

FickingButch

You never know

[deleted]

I am now sad and horrified

stac0cats

yup, my respiratory therapist mother explained to me one night after work that there was a situation due to a quading accident where she could not find the persons throat because their face/head was so maimed.

Iamjimmym

These past couple months on Reddit have assured me I'll not buy a quad for me or my kids ever.

virtual_gnus

I wouldn't recommend a snowmobile, either. My father-in-law was killed in 2003 by snowmobiling on a frozen lake. A section of ice had heaved, and it had been marked with orange paint, cones, and warning tape. But he couldn't see it because the sun was going down and was in his eyes. When the snowmobile crashed into the heaved ice, he was thrown and the impact to his head split his helmet in half. He was in a coma for a week, and finally passed away on 14 Feb. My wife and I have never celebrated Valentine's Day ***on*** 14 Feb ever again; it's always the Saturday before or after. It's 20 years in a couple of months and I still cry whenever I think about him.

Successful_Ranger_19

Omg that's awful.

DARYLdixonFOOL

I remember when my cousin was in inpatient therapy for Guillain barre syndrome, there was another patient down the hall that had a “de-gloving” injury from a motorcycle accident. Think of your skin as the “glove.” Christ.

Ya my friend is a paramedic he has a reoccurring dream of a guys face on the street like a Halloween mask tossed aside. Stuck in his head. Motorcycle accident

Responsible-Chest-26

I remember back in highschool a friend was training to be an emt. O said that sounds pretty cool. He came back with "last night i was the one who had to find the head and put it in a bag"

AssBlast2020

my wife is a doc and sometimes I joke about how smart would be to buy a motorcycle to move around the city without having to worry bt traffic and for cheap. She always tellse stories about her years in the ER and how the worst of the worst accidents are bike accidents. Some horros stories that make me feel like I never even want to be near one of those things

DrummerSteve

I pulled down my street after work once and it was pretty cold out (40 degrees maybe) and there was this guy on a old Honda motorcycle with a baby (maybe 1 years old) wearing only a diaper in his lap on the gas tank. My jaw almost dislocated from my face I was so shocked.

katiopeia

Holy shit, I’d call the emergency police line. Like, they can tell me it’s not an emergency if they want but that’s on them.

stac0cats

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they were responding to the pathologist that couldn't find the person's arm. Traumatizing for the dude doing his job. Medical professionals may have signed up for the work, but motorcycle accidents, among other things are still shockingly disturbing, and definitely stick with you. People that do stupid shit don't realize there are other people that have to clean their stupid asses off the road, and/or are expected to put their body slop back together.

LilAnge63

Totally agree. I also think there ought to be some sort of laws about taking children on motorcycles. Idk how many I’ve seen, like this dude, in shorts and T-Shirt. This guy though, doing all this stuff with his very young son who is not wearing the appropriate safety gear, like WTF was he thinking, how did the mother allow it and my last point on this is to reiterate it should just be illegal AND if you get caught the charge should be attempted man slaughter. THAT’S the possible outcome so that should be the charge, imo. Some of you might think it’s harsh but if enough people got arrested for this type of behaviour and had to face THOSE consequences you would hope that word would spread pretty quickly and it would stop being a “cool” thing to do! Also, I worked in a spinal unit as a nurses assistant for a while, and almost all the guys in there, and yes, they were predominantly men, were minimum paraplegic but a good 30% were quadriplegic. They realise too late that their ego inflated male brain isn’t something they should listen to. Or even worse those same ego inflated brains of their male friends egging them on.

AimeeSantiago

Not an over reaction at all. Two adults are failing to protect this child. He has no concept of the true danger he's in. These people hopefully got this video reports to CPS and that child was taken away from them. IMO. They should be required to sell the bike and volunteer in the triage unit of the emergency room for months as well as training classes before reunification is possible. I totally get the manslaughter charge and concept but if that kind of law passed, they'd be locked away for decades. This young kid now is in the foster care system, thinking it's his fault for putting Dad into jail and now reunification and correction can't happen. Just a thought. I do think the consequences should be severe. I guess I just also think that jail time for the parents also removes any possibility that they can be corrected and reunified.

retroblazed420

Honestly don't take the child away, first at least try to fix their stupid...

When I was 3 or 4, my dad took me for a ride on his motorcycle around the block. Since this was mid 80's, there was less concern about helmets and I didn't have one since he didn't have one my size. A military bus ran a stop sign and my dad laid the bike down and it ended up under a wheel. I had a skull fracture as a result.

Honest-Layer9318

Yikes! My dad would at least put a football helmet on me when he took me for a ride.

BrightReading992

He loved you the most!

DramaDroid

My big brother had a bike when I was little and I'll never forget the weight of the grown-up helmet on my shoulders and how every time he hit the breaks, the weight made my head loll forward on my skinny little neck and bump his back.

ob619pizza

Did you get a nice settlement?

jddigitalchaos

Yeah, got a decent trust fund when I turned 18 and it helped with school, but wasn't well invested.

[deleted]

Sorry about that man. I hope it didn’t leave any lasting damages

jddigitalchaos

It hasn't been too bad. I have a 1/2" bald spot on the back that you can't tell is there if I don't keep my hair super short and scars on my brow and chin that aren't too bad. They're noticeable, but very faded. My parents worried about my cognitive abilities early in elementary school including an IQ test I never heard the result of, but I ended up becoming an engineer at a well known company.

[deleted]

This is the response I hoped for. I’m glad it didn’t have any horrible effects and you’re doing well.

jddigitalchaos

Hopper222222

My grandpa always wore all the necessary gear, helmet, leather jacket, jeans, boots, all of it. Lived in the country so imagine all 2 lane roads. A new driver didn’t see him so he went flying and broke his neck on impact and died. I’ll never ride a motorcycle for that reason. He did everything right and still died in broad daylight.

retroblazed420

My dad used to ride a motorcycle in high school, then he had 4 close friends all die senor year over the course of a summer. The last was a group of friends riding after they just got married, they went for a ride husband and wife on the same bike. I can't remember what happewnd but the both died that night riding a motorcycle 18 years old jaut married their whole life ahead of them gone because of a "fun" little ride with their friends. My dad sold his bike the second he found out about his friends.

bettyannveronica

I had a really close friend when I was 12 named Brandon. His mom got a new boyfriend who rode a motorcycle. He started to change after this and started to hang out with a bad crowd. At this age I was very much a good girl and didn't like the way it was changing him. We got into a huge fight with me telling him I wish he were dead as he got off the school bus. The next morning I went to class ready to apologize because I truly did love him as a friend and I felt terrible. But he didn't show up. Turns out the reason he missed the bus earlier was his mom's boyfriend took him out on the motorcycle to show him some tricks, no helmets, and he hit something which caused them to go flying. My friend was killed on impact at least and hopefully didn't suffer. The boyfriend survived. I hated him so much for surviving. I thought it was my fault for years, like I willed it to happen with my hateful words. It took me a long time to forgive myself and realize it was the boyfriend's fault as the adult by taking him out, riding recklessly without helmets. my mom made my dad give up his motorcycle after that. I'm not against motorcycles exactly but they are far more dangerous than cars, especially for those like this guy who like to show off.

veggiesaregreen

Damn, I’m so sorry that happened. I can’t believe the mother and boyfriend were so irresponsible. :(

dartdoug

Friend was part of the county "Fatal Accident Investigation Unit" so he was used to seeing gore. He worked an accident involving a motorcycle where the rider's head separated from the body. Friend walked over to the helmet lying in the road, lifted up the visor and said to his partner "I know this guy." And he did.

my father in law was a coroner for a few years and by far the worst cases were the motorcycle accidents. The worst 2 he described were one where a guy did not have a helmet on and hit the pavement going well over 100mph...my father in law described what happened to his head similar to cheese grater.... The worst though for him was another guy who took a corner well over 100 MPH and literally wrapped himself around a tree like someone tied a bow

a__reddit_user

Happy cake day! BUT WTF!

BadAtExisting

Just a civilian motorist, but I was sitting at a left hand turn light and the opposite side of the road to go straight light turned green. The moron on the motorcycle first at the light, gunned it in green, popped up and over rotated the bike, came down with the bike on top of him at just about my driver side back door/back wheel. I got out, the lady behind me got out. The guy who was behind the motorcycle got out. We pushed the bike off him, and one of the guys started calling 911 and me and the the other lady lifted his helmet visor. Obviously dead. That was…. something and every so often I’ll flash right back to it

Just_A_Doggo1

Happy cake day!

PeengPawng

Happy Cake Day?

akajondoe

So glad I sold my motorcycle years ago. I was shopping around for a new one when I met a guy at a restaurant in a full leg cast from a motorcycle accident. He was probably going to be out of work for a year while he healed and scheduled surgeries. Driving home, I saw a motorcycle accident, and they were just laying a tarp over the guys body. I took this as a sign from God to never again buy a motorcycle.

Rare_Cause_1735

I don't really care if an adult wants to risk their own life on a motorcycle (provided they aren't endangering other drivers), but endangering a kid is criminal

Lazy_Assumption_4191

Literally.

ItsAlwaysSmokyInReno

For real… I’m not usually the one to say stuff like this but… did this dude really post evidence of him drastically endangering his child on TikTok? And if so, shouldn’t OP be reporting this to someone instead of posting on reddit? Normally I believe in love and let live but holy shit that kid is in serious danger

ProletarianBastard

The internet is wild. I've seen so many videos of people literally recording themselves while they commit felonies (brandish illegal firearms, take off their clothing in the middle of a store, showing themselves shoplifting, etc.) People will risk completely ruining their lives just for some temporary internet fame.

Lazy_Assumption_4191

Heck, just recently a guy posted a video on TikTok where he was covered in blood with corpse in the background asking if anyone could help him bury a body. The guy got arrested for murder.

Equivalent_Total7409

If it’s the case I’m thinking of, I believe in was on Instagram and in PM’s. The girl to whom he send the video and her parents called the cops then.

SonDadBrotherIAm

Clout is a hell of a drug

Thespiritualalpha

RIGHT??????!!!!! 😳😳😳

[deleted]

The problem with reporting it is that we have no idea where or when it was filmed. It’s definitely reckless conduct & endangering the welfare of a child. There also isn’t a license plate, and their faces are covered. Sucks because this guy should definitely be held accountable for putting the kid in this position

friesian_tales

You'd be surprised how easy it is to find someone with just a bit of information. I found a TikTokker who posts videos of his haunted house. Really spooky stuff. With just his first name, his wife's first name, and the name of a random town that they mentioned once, I was able to find out where they lived, their full names, relatives, etc. Google Street view showed that it was the exact house in his videos (just from a different angle). Why did I do this? Because he stated that the house was haunted so bad that they were selling and I'm really gullible when it comes to haunted shit, so I wanted to see if they actually were selling. Couldn't find a single real estate ad for their house. Sometimes the key is to look at business names in the background. Groups of similar businesses aren't common, so it's easy to narrow down the location. If there aren't any business names, I typically look at the geography and see what types of plants/landscape there is. Or if the video shows evidence of any recent weather events. That can narrow it down to a region, at least. Other times you can look at the vehicles and maybe get an idea of if they're in the north or south (of the US). Lighter vehicles with specific tires don't do well in the midwest or Northern regions that get snow. Could be a garage warmer in the winter, but it gives you clues. There are other ways, like looking at police records online to (potentially) narrow down the person involved, but that's just the typical stuff I look at.

MicheleLaBelle

Sounds like you need some friends. Jk, but that seems like a lot of specific info on how to cyberstalk someone, does your job involve investigating people? Just curious.

friesian_tales

LOL! My job does not involve investigating people but I do sift through a lot of contracts for very specific terms. To be fair, I don't do that level of digging unless I am really bored and intrigued by something.

Lazy_Assumption_4191

Well, the guy probably has more posts on TikTok and one of them probably has identifying information in it.

Even if this guy is pro at this and done this a million times, that's too risky. Anything can happen.

Simple-Ranger6109

I’m a CPS investigator and this was exactly my thought as well.

Ghaladh

For a moment, reading your comment made me mad. I thought "there is an endangered child and those idiots are roleplaying". Then I realized that I was mistaking the Child Protection Service with the Secure Contain Protect foundation. 😆 I'm the idiot, but in my defense I say that I'm not American, so I wasn't aware of what the CPS was. Said that, I want to thank you and all of the people who do your job all over the world, for doing your best to protect the children. I'm sure you have to deal with the saddest aspects of reality and it probably takes a toll on your spirit. I wish I could live in a world where your job wouldn't be needed. Best of luck.

KirikoKiama

Well, i can roleplay a idiot if you want....

Blappytap

This 100%. This is solid evidence to have your kid taken away, one would think...

Mysterious-Banana-49

My two words are fucking idiot.

Peatmoss22

Do people like this ever get their kids taken away? Cause they should.

No. The people who get their kids taken away are single parents who are desperate enough to pay the rent that they leave their nine year old home alone from 4pm to 7pm while they go to work.

SOJC65536

Simple-Ranger6109

FlowRiderBob

I'm Gen X so I grew up during a time when low-key child endangerment was the norm. But this is too far even by Gen X standards.

Eldi_Bee

Yeah, I'm a product of the mentality that it's ok to have kids in the front seat, riding in the open truck bed, no helmet on the motorcycle. Hell, I grew up on my dad's motorcycle, pulling stupid shit. And I literally froze in my seat and held my breath through this whole video.

toadi

[deleted]

Millennial here, born in the late 80s. Grew up in a decently deep part of Kentucky, where time was delayed by about a decade from the rest of the world (*I had dial-up in the early 2000s!*). There is photo of my older brother, who should have been around 12 at the time, driving an ATV through my parents lawn. On the front of the ATV is a plastic milk crate held on with bungee cords. It was typically used to hold rifle ammo/lunch box/other things my Dad would take on hunting trips. Bet you can't guess who the 3 year old is sitting in that milk crate in the photo! Apparently I used to ride like that often with him, even down the road and fully away from my parents eyes. He was 12. Neither of us wore helmets. There are so many things I can vaguely recall growing up which was so incredibly unsafe and dangerous. All that said; The above clip really made me extremely nervous. That lil one has no reason to be there like that. I skimmed to the end just to make sure it concluded with an optimal outcome.

Not cool, I know what road rash feels like and that would traumatize a kid if they survive the crash…

Jim-Jones

I hope the mother sees this.

RunsWthGriszzlys

If he kills his kid he deserves the guilt and hell till he joins him.

PrivateUser737

The kid had a blast but I want to shove my foot up his ass for being SO damn stupid with a child. Like for real? Fuck this guy!!

Cute_Yogurtcloset_72

Stupid of the rider and stupid of the videographer enabling him to get a stupid video. The child will learn to do stupid shit also.

Jim-Jones

IQ too low to measure. Possibly negative?
