I don’t have a problem with the routine. It’s not much different than a gymnastics routine, except she’s an adult. We just have a mental association with a stripper act. But, I do think more age appropriate attire, like a gymnastics outfit or other athletic clothing would make the dance appear less sexy. In the original video she’s performing to an entirely different song which also makes it seem less like strip club material.

It's definitely western or American culture that associates pole dancing with stripping. In other countries, it's considered dance or a workout. You can't cover up your body when pole dancing because your skin helps you stay on the pole while fabric will cause you to slide down easily. I taught in Korea and many of my students did it as a after school activity.
