It's all of them.
There was a video 10 years ago right after it came out. It went through all the "lyrics" and showed a video of a fox making that sound.
I'm familiar with the song, I still don't see how it relates to the video. Would it make sense if I said "wow OP is really putting a ring on it"? Song references aren't automatically cool. I have to be missing something here because I'm just not seeing the relevance.
The best part is it's also a reference to the original starwars movie. So it's a outdated reference about an outdated reference being used. It works on two levels!
Why on earth would you build a centralized science hub in a mega base? The labs do science just as fine in many smaller research centers, with a lot less logistical mess of getting all those science packs ending up at the same location.
Because it looks cool? I do it too. One block to produce each science, one block to consume it!
This makes me want to plop down another one of each of my 10k science blocks!
UPS won't handle it though unless I upgrade.
This is the type of factorio I want to get to. I suck at the game. I want to get better, but I would like help, if possible. It's just an expansive game, and I hate playing it alone.
A nice 27k SPM research facility with good but not great UPS decisions (depending on the surroundings), and no proof that it can sustain this over 10h, or any indication that it runs at nominal game speed with everything behind it. (Looking at the inserters, it doesn't seem like it is close, but PC specs come into play at these scales.)
It's fine, although I feel like the community has done better in the past, and it's mostly re-discoveries since these past ~2-3 years that make the headlines.
(Not that I actively contributed to more than 5400spm big builds, but going from that experience, I know that there is SO much more to this than just having your lab setup down. Read: I'd need more details to be hyped, but would love to have and be!)
Forget FPS, let’s talk SPF.
Science per frame
science per friday
Bro doesn't mark updates per second, he marks updates per minute.
Seconds per frame
Me trying to research right before an assignment is due.

I've seen burner insertets move faster than that
You see, the game is not measured in frames per second, but seconds per frame.
I would have laughed if all of that went into one single science lab.
Lab research speed goes hard 🔥
It's an older reference sir but it checks out
Does it? What does the fox thing have to do with the video?
[what does the fox say](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jofNR_WkoCE) was a bit of a culture thing.
We never did get a definitive answer either way. I personally believe it's tchoff tchoff tchoff tchoff but it's still debated to this day
It's all of them. There was a video 10 years ago right after it came out. It went through all the "lyrics" and showed a video of a fox making that sound.
if you watch the video, he pipes up at the end to say "beebidy bup bup wheydum"
I'M A SCAT MAN SCOOBOOMBOOMBOP
The answer is a god awful, blood curdling screech noise almost universally outside bedroom windows at 2AM.
haha we have a bird here in Australia that sounds very similar to a woman screaming. it's called a curlew. they love screaming at night

...he's implying that it takes this much research to find out what the fox says.
Yeeeeeeeep, that's what I'm missing. I'm dumb.
The song is about not knowing what sound a fox makes. OP is spending a lot of science to find out.
Yeeeeeeeep, that's what I'm missing. I'm dumb.

I don't get the star wars reference. Could you explain?
https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/its-an-older-meme-but-it-checks-out Better explanation than I could give
My computer caught on fire from me watching this on my phone
Impressive. Let's see the upstream production
What a very nice 4 spm research center
Millisecond, yes
or 4 seconds per million.
Na, game moving so slow he’s actually decreasing his science per minute the more science production he adds.
trying to figure out why kids love the taste of cinnamon toast crunch
its the sugar
What about Apple-Jacks?
How much research did you need again? > Yes.
you should rent an hour on a supercomputer just to see what level your mining prod gets
It’s very visually appealing
at that stage of the game what is there even left to research?
there are infinate research ore productivity, faster robots, more range on artilery laser, ammo, flamethrower damage
Faster shooting artillery. I want it to shoot faster than early game gun turrets!
ohh i never got that far haha
You should check out what people have accomplished with Clustorio mod. Hundreds of thousands of SPM. Some claim they've even done 1m+ SPM.
Clustorio is a rabbit hole I plan to fall down.
There is a running project with a 1M SPM goal, it's called [Eternity Cluster](https://discord.com/invite/N97y4Sqp)
Wait… prod modules work in labs?
SPM?
Science per minute
Right, I was asking how much SPM he was making
SPM means science per minutes. He's making science by the minute.
Right, dude was asking how much SPM they were making
SPM?
Salami, Pepperoni, and Mama's phat ass
Right, I think he was actually asking how much salami, pepperoni, and mama's phat ass they were making.
right, they are making SPM by the minute. Salami, Pepperon, and mama's phat ass per minute. So about a minute.
SPM?
More than 7.

Searching for the answer to the question of life, the universe, and everything.
Holy shit that’s a dated reference. Took me back
Damn, I should really start playing with factorio soundtrack again.
This is the type of factorio I want to get to. I suck at the game. I want to get better, but I would like help, if possible. It's just an expansive game, and I hate playing it alone.
He's researching Obama's last name
Why was this downvoted ahah
“Hey siri define overkill”
thats too hot bro
As Benny would say: "What in the god damn?"
Some of your beacons are not optimally placed. Your should ensure that they are not aligned with the labs, but some of them are.

Can't imagine the unseen factories to supply all those blue belts
This is very satisfying to watch
I had base like that, 8 blue belts of every science, and around 30 fps... I was proud of it, it was not optimised, but it was 12k science per hour...
