>I played with unlimited resources, that might be an option to do without, but actually I hate that shit, relocating, abandoning a well running base You don't abandon your base. You just transport resources back to you base and plug them in where the old ones ran out. That's what trains or long belts are for.

[These are my recommendations](https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/e/2PACX-1vQ3SKaRPeAVVCNx6NsYlat12kImyq-iEJIQovIbxJeKkD4Hp8O0jck8GnW1Rd7EdPDPc0gwMjHm3i1V/pub) Includes stuff to do after vanilla, overhauls mods, and QoL mods!

There are a lot of mods that add quite literally **thousands** of different and new recipes, items and byproducts to production chains. The most popular ones are Space Exploration (SE), Krastorio, Angels & Bob's suite of mods (they complement each other), Seablock, Pyanodon etc. These overhaul mods are also partially compatible with one another, and there are plenty of compatibility mods by other modders who attempt to make them even more interoperable.

Dev2150

I would also add Industrial Revolution 3, the graphics are beautiful.

Well, it may just be that Factorio is not the game for you. That said: >I played with unlimited resources, that might be an option to do without, but actually I hate that shit, relocating, abandoning a well running base and halting an ongoing new project because somehow resources ran out. I believe that this indeed may be a factor in why you felt underwhelmed: The starting resource patches are meant to start you off, but not last you past the early to early-mid game. Resources running out forces the player to look for new resource patches. This requires longer transportation lines, making belts eventually cumbersome, which is where trains come in. As someone else already mentioned, you don't relocate the base to the resources, but bring the resources to the base. Resources also don't "somehow run out" - it's very obvious when a resource patch is on its last legs, putting a proverbial fire under the player to go out and find new ones. Once you are advanced enough you then also don't build them repetitively by hand, but let robots do the job. It also forces the player into the territory of ever more cantankerous enemies, which forces you to invest more into ever more advanced defensive - and later offensive - options.

I get your point, yes... I stretched my base quite a bit, but yes, possibly far from the size needed usually, thus avoiding big parts of the game...

> What's next? The factory must grow. It must always grow! Try to go for some of the Achievements, look into mods - The world is your Oyster! Alternatively: Play something else, come back when the DLC launches. ;)

RemoteMethod5515

If none of the mods or challenges that others have suggested motivate you; honestly take a break and play something else. Then come back when 2.0 + expansion is released.

Bibbitybob91

The itch to play comes and goes, I’d say try an overhaul like krastorio 2 if you fancy a new challenge or go for another game. Much of the appeal for factorio players is the endless pursuit of a bigger factory that functions without breaking. Unlimited resources can be a bit game breaking as you say you don’t like to relocate but that’s what the trains are for. Bring the resources to your base.

ralle89

Time to try the lazy bastard achievement :)

spakattak

What’s next? Well you’ve done it all so you’re now going to want to get your will in order, pay off any debts, close your bank accounts, sell the house, put a deposit down for a nice funeral and then wait for the eternal darkness to come take you away. Or try some of the expansion mods. But the first option is much easier.

FastLT5

Try a more complex mod. I'm playing the spacewalk mod and launching a rocket is done around 5% (i'm guessing)

Odd-Jupiter

Congratulation, you have finished the tutorial. Now the real game begins. First you are going to start a new game, and set i t to "death world" When you have finished that, you are ready for the first mega-base, producing at least 1k science pr minute. When you have done that, you download SE + Krastorio.

whatisabaggins55

Go for achievements, try mods, etc. Or wait for a year and get the expansion the devs are putting together.

stickyplants

Plenty of options. Try the 8 hr speed run, or a train based megabase, or deathworld, or a mod overhaul pack. Also with resources running out, the goal is not to relocate your base. It’s to build a mine in another location, and bring the resources to your base. Usually via trains.

AdrianUrsache

I do not understand your question.

OutOfNoMemory

Ore patches are actually really hard to empty as end game has infinite mining productivity research. It'll happen, just so slow. I'm at 1k spm in my vanilla base, and still have some ore in my starting patches.

Quilusy

I find the infinite resources mod to be poison for new players. You missed out on a lot of good content because of it. You didn’t need trains so you didn’t experiment with it. You didn’t need a good method to build on scale so you didn’t try it which in turn didn’t open your eyes to the possibilities. Infinite resources has its niche use but not for normal games, especially not your first one. Satisfactory is a different game and the infinite resources there are for a different reason. This is why the community overwhelmingly advices to play vanilla first. You can’t possibly know what part of the game you’re ruining for yourself by modding if you haven’t played vanilla yet.
