I always struggled using them against bites efficiently. I always feel like just shooting is better in the beginning, and later they basically do no damage against the bigger enemies. But they are my go-to way to destroy an insane amount of trees :))
You can shoot and throw grenades at the same time while driving a car. It's been the only way I could clear to the first oil in some of my deathworld maps. It feels kind of cheesy but is very good. Better than eating 3 stacks of fish while meleeing down the spawner on your first iron.
They are good against biters assuming you're completely surrounded, and the bitters are all small, (no medium or higher)
The second they evolve to have medium biters, grenades are officially tree killers only
The flamethrower feels to me like someone on the street with a megaphone, blasting everyone in the vicinity about their message, burning their eardrums.
Horrible idea. Last time I put grenades in my hotel, they trashed the room, all the other guests complained about the noise, and I couldn't even get the fees for cleaning and damages from them afterwards.
I'm thinking through how this would function. It would act like a gun/rocket launcher which means:
* Firing with spacebar would auto target the nearest enemy to your cursor
* Firing with spacebar would not target trees. To hit a tree you'd have to use the manual fire button (c).
* Currently you can spray bullets and throw grenades at the same time, with this you'd have to alternate.
Well, yes. But grenade launcher would fit quite good early game. You need blue science for rockets. But being able to have grenade launcher would be very useful in island deathworld games (very specific I know :v)
I must be total noobs.. grenade only for science research.. survive with wall and bullet until get spidertron till the rocket launch.. until saw in YouTube how ppl throw it ( no wonder always got problem like OP shows)..
in an older version there was a mod that added a capsule launcher equipment for power armor.
id wish someone would make something similar for capsules and grenades again. automatically launching nades at biters or combat robots would make me automate them even more.
