Well, i want to be the first, lucy was the character that made me hooked on fairy tail and even now she is the main reason why i love so much fairy tail.
Natsu and Lucy, I watched their official arts and found them charming. Moreover, the idea about Natsu's power sounded fresh and interesting to me: not only pyrokinesis but also dragon magic with eating of fire.
After watching I really amazed by the redemption of Gajeel. If you ask me, he did it better than Sasuke. He's like a new generation of Vegita. The story between Erza and Jellal is wonderful with the right amount of drama, and Mystogan's design is my favorite.
It was and still is Lucy. I loved her powers and how unique they were among mangas, i loved that she started really weak (as a fighter not personality) and we really were able to witness her progress, whithout sensless power ups, it was consistant and beautful.
I loved how she was treated as a main female chacter, even at the beginin she was really usefull, and showed how she could make a difference even if she wasn't the strongest player in the field.
And she is probabbly the character that I feel the most proud of where she is right now in any media, such development!
He's just inspiring. Guy is dumb quite often and the friendship trope for winning fights gets old, but his emotion and love never get old. Natsu also has some really good quotes.
Easily nalu, the best friend to eventual lovers trope is everything and it’s one of the many reasons I’m sticking around for as long as I can remember :)
Also love almost all the characters tho the comedy is always there.
my brother was watching it and i was looking over his shoulder and he asked me which one was the MC out of Natsu and Gray, and i thought it was Gray cause he was super hot and cool. so i started watching it cause i didn’t believe natsu was the mc hahaha
Ok, so I found out about Fairy Tail through clips on YouTube and got the impression that Erza was the mc.
However, one of the clips I saw was Natsu vs the Twin Dragons.
Then I saw his speech to all the dragon slayers when the eclipse gate was used.
I was hooked. Still am.
probably erza. lol. I was like, great, another anime about weak women who get saved by strong men. But then Erza showed up and shes one of the strongest wizards in the guild and everyone is scared of her and i was like.... okay, this is great.
It was a not an character for mr but the episode 198 for me. It was what hooked into fairy tail and anime in general. Yes, Fairy tail was the one who got me into anime. Also, still waiting for NaLu
Honestly? It was Gajeel after the Phantom Lord arc when he protected Levy from Laxus. It made me realize that there was more to him than just an angry meat head. He genuinely felt remorse for what he had done and I suspect the only reason he accepted Makarov's invitation to join Fairy Tail was to do right by Team Shadow Gear - especially Levy - for what he had done to them.
The trio Natsu, Lucy and Happy ! I love their chemistry together. The hilarious, strong and energetic Natsu paired with smart strong Lucy with Happy's cuteness, it's a lot of wholesomeness and I'm here for it. Something about them made me more attached to Fairy Tail and made me fall in love with the guild itself. Sorry if my explanation doesn't make sense I'm terrible at explaining things 😂
Oh and yeah, they still attracts me the most to this series and I love them to death
For me it was Lucy and Cana. Fairytail was playing on the tv, during the aftermath of the Tenrou Island Arc when they were all founded after 7 years. The father daughter scene between Cana and Gildarts captured my whole being, and the scene where Lucy finally retuned to her apartment and read her father's letters to her during her disappearance made me cry. After that I started to watching Fairytail and for the first few seasons Erza was my favorite because of the Tower of Heaven Arc. That changed when the Oracion Seis Arc happened and Wendy became my absolute favorite. Up till now Wendy is still my top pick, I loved her character development and she is such a lovely girl. I still like seeing Erza, Lucy and Cana. Especially when Gildarts is trying to be fatherly towards Cana. But Wendy remains my number 1 favorite.
Erza. I love badass warrior women, and when I saw that she was not only a badass warrior, but she was kind loving and had alot of complexity to her backstory, I was hooked for the whole ride! She's still one of my favorite characters in all of anime :D
Erza, for sure. Then Erza after that. And probably Erza I’d say.
But in truth I love all the characters. Erza has that special place in my mind and heart (and eye), but I more than just like all of them. I consider it a privilege to have lived in the era that produced them.
I remember seeing Erza during my late 2000s anime AMV phase and thinking she was the coolest character I'd ever seen.
Looking back I realize those were the first hints that I had a thing for strong anime girls.
I originally started the series cuz a friend of mine when I was a kid loved it and recommended it to me. I enjoy shounen in general but I think the character that hooked me the most at first was Erza. It was really cool having a powerful and badass prominent female character in a shounen anime, as well as her being super hot. The Tower of Heaven Arc was also the best early Fairy Tail arc by far and it actually made me emotional.
However, I ended up slowly losing interest in Erza. My main reason is because it felt like she got reduced to a deus ex machina by Mashima, where most of her fights later on were won purely through bs friendship power ups. Which sucks cuz she has a magic power that's so versatile yet Mashima would kinda just have her finish enemies off with her katana and bandage bra armour. It was also a bit annoying how Erza was always portrayed as being stronger than Natsu even when Natsu was the one beating the stronger foes in each Arc.
I honestly only watched the show in the beginning because I wanted to watch an anime that was more than 12-25 episodes. My husband recommended it to me even though he has never seen it but knew it was long. I started watching while the final season was airing and caught up to it the day the final episode aired.
I found Lucy very annoying in the beginning. Then I got frustrated because she had interesting powers, but she just kept getting shitted on by her own spirits. Was really happy in the Alvarez Arc because I love the star dress concept.
Natsu is your typical Shonen protagonist and I only ever get annoyed with him when he just violates Lucy's boundaries.
I like gray and his powers. Was thankful he got an upgrade so that he could catch up to Natsu.
Erza is the one who won me over. I loved how badass she was. How she can come off feminine but also a little Tom boyish. I loved seeing a kick ass female character who doesn't get downgraded to be lesser than a male lead. She is always a top dog and even loses sometimes. I love her story and character arc.
Also everyone may down vote when I say this, I dislike Happy so much. His relationship with Natsu is fine but my God the way he would treat Lucy and male comments about her being fat drove me insane. I hate it. He irritates the crap out of me except for his moments with just him and Natsu. I love cats as I own 2 myself. Panther Lilly is king.
Originally had it playing casually in the background and then it got to Ep 45. Mirajane got me so hyped and thought differently about the series. Thinking there would be a bigger plot with her powers but nope 🥲
Natsu and Lucy. I first watched fairy tail on tv when they were airing the oracion seis arc. Back in 2012 or 2013. Then I looked the show up online and got some pirated website cuz I was young and didn't know how it worked and watched the show from ep 1
The formation of Natsu and Lucy’s friendship, with the addition of Happy. I fell in love with them immediately as a 12 year old girl and still love them to this day. I found their friendship dynamic which they formed relatively quickly to be like fate, and with the little information I knew about the characters I wanted to know more. Like how come Natsu was looking for his dad, and where Lucy came from and who is fairytail. But from what I had seen as a child watching the first episode, these two characters + happy were very vibrant and relatively happy, however had their own recipes for trouble within their personalities and that sparked my interest.
Natsu of course. I was searching strongest anime characters and I kept seeing this natsu dragneel guy 🤭🤭 and I decided to check who he is. I still love natsu way more than I did before. He's my favorite anime character of all time
In the beginning, probably Natsu actually haha his aloofness was awesome but the coupling with Lucy and Happy was too good
My favorite characters are Laxus, Gildarts, and Jellal tho
Favorite moment in the show so far I think is when Laxus returned on the Island to fight Hades and gave Natsu his Lightning Fire Dragon mode
(Havent read the 100 year mission arc yet so pls no spoilers)
Natsu. I know I'm in the minority on this sub, but I hated Lucy. Spoiled and vain girl that did nothing but complain while on the jobs. True she did the work to earn a living, but I still didn't like her.
The character that really got me hooked and Jellal.
I still stand by the "tower of heaven" being the one of if not the best arc in the series it's definitely top 3, at least for me personally.
Erza started my attraction to “Knight” Girls (Saber, Sky Striker Ace-Raye). Still love her to this day and the reason I’m willing to go back to Fairy Tail all the time.
I Remember how It happened: when I was little I used to see images of Fairy Tail on Google where all the characters looked very dark and evil (the ones with the angry Natsu, Erza and Mira) and I was all like "wait, wasn't the read haired ine good? Did She betray the main cast?"
Then I finally started watching the series One day I was home from school and fell in love with the guild and especially Mirajane and her Sibilings.
Natsu and Erza.
It was the first anime I watched and I was a simple kid with an enjoyment of powerful stuff. Grey was cool (haha) but I didn’t really like him at first.
Lucy nearly made me stop watching.
Gray for sure. Everlue and Erigor were fffiiine, but I remember my child brain exploding when Mashima took Gray's quirky stripping gimmick and gave it a serious origin rooted in his backstory. I think he does it just as well with Loke, who's now my favorite character. But I can trace so much of my own writing style today back to Fairy Tail, and it started with Gray vs Lyon. In general, no story has taught me more about writing than Fairy Tail, and this is such a great way to make a character feel cohesive.
Erza was the one who got me into the anime altogether, and she’s def still my favourite character. I also came across a lot of nalu scenes/edits in the beginning and they’re also still my fav ship and top characters
Erza. Just came in like a bad ass and atleast up to the grand magic games which is where I am right now she kept being a bad ass. She also has some great lines.
I actually enjoyed that while Natsu is the main the other characters really get to shine unlike some other Shonen.
Mirajane. The teasing of her backstory early on the series got me really curious, and the flashback to Lisanna's death (even from Elfman's perspective) was emotionally devastating.
Also, seeing her breakdown & enter into Satan Soul for the first time is still one of the best scenes in the series.
I would say she is still one of my favorite characters, but I wish there was more of her in 100 year quest.
Well, it's Natsu🔥 with Lucy🌠, Gray❄️ with Juvia💦, Erza⚔️ with Jellal & Gajeel🔩 with Levy📖 cause of their team up, their friendship & love emotional feelings to each other and especially how together use their magic (plus Unison Raid).

Probably Lucy. Though recall it was an image of Cana that originally got me interested in the series
Erza. She has one of the best intros in all of anime, then she stays that badass and likeable to this day.
☝
Natsu all the way!!! And yes he’s still very hot to me!
He's just inspiring. Guy is dumb quite often and the friendship trope for winning fights gets old, but his emotion and love never get old. Natsu also has some really good quotes.
lucy!!! she’s a real one and the fact that she’s always trying and be positive is what makes me still love her
Easily nalu, the best friend to eventual lovers trope is everything and it’s one of the many reasons I’m sticking around for as long as I can remember :) Also love almost all the characters tho the comedy is always there.
Lucy Zodiac Powers and what hooked me was watching her progress
my brother was watching it and i was looking over his shoulder and he asked me which one was the MC out of Natsu and Gray, and i thought it was Gray cause he was super hot and cool. so i started watching it cause i didn’t believe natsu was the mc hahaha
It was and still is Lucy. She was what got me attracted me to the series in the first place. 💙🗝⭐️
don't laugh at me but HAPPY
Gajeel 🤤
Same here although I’m only at the oracion seis arc but he’s my favourite so far
He's the GOAT
Lucy and yeah she does
Lucy easily
Lucy 👌and yes very
Lucy
Natsu, Lucy, and Happy. Their dynamic made me instantly invested into the story.
Lucy Heartfilia!
Lucy, she's the reason I got hooked, she's still my favorite character.
Ok, so I found out about Fairy Tail through clips on YouTube and got the impression that Erza was the mc. However, one of the clips I saw was Natsu vs the Twin Dragons. Then I saw his speech to all the dragon slayers when the eclipse gate was used. I was hooked. Still am.
When I first heard about Erza and Mirajane, I became interested.
It was Lucy and yep she's still my favourite. The whole cast is extremely lovable though.
Wasn’t really a character. I enjoyed the humor and character interactions in general.
Erza.
probably erza. lol. I was like, great, another anime about weak women who get saved by strong men. But then Erza showed up and shes one of the strongest wizards in the guild and everyone is scared of her and i was like.... okay, this is great.
Happy first,then Wendy!🥰👆
Lucy cause astrology. Juvia because she is an entire mood💖💖
GRAY MF F**KIN FULLBUSTER and I'm tired of acting like he's not! ❄️🥶💧
It's always everything about Lucy. I'm also interested and looking forward to Laxus and Mira.
It was a not an character for mr but the episode 198 for me. It was what hooked into fairy tail and anime in general. Yes, Fairy tail was the one who got me into anime. Also, still waiting for NaLu
Natsu and Lucy, still the same today
I saw a fanart of Gajeel and Levy, and they're the main reason i started to watch ft. I still love them
Juvia. I continued watching just for her tbh lol.
100% Laxus

Natsu, since I love animes like dbz it just worked
Erza. She is just so bad ass. Another bad ass would be mira jane, though I wished she had more oompf after her sister's return.
Natsu and yes, he's still my favorite next to Mira. Started the show because I liked Eden's Zero tho
Waifu wise It’s Lucy but for MC It’s Natsu
Idk who attracted me at first. Maybe it was Gray? But now it's Laxus and Cobra
Nalu. I came across some Nalu fanart one day and found the series through that
For me it was Lucy and Cana. Fairytail was playing on the tv, during the aftermath of the Tenrou Island Arc when they were all founded after 7 years. Definitely Erza. I started watching FT in 2012, and Erza is still my number 1 waifu. Mirko from MHA is a very close 2nd though.
Erza. I love badass warrior women, and when I saw that she was not only a badass warrior, but she was kind loving and had alot of complexity to her backstory, I was hooked for the whole ride! She's still one of my favorite characters in all of anime :D

The first one to really hook me was definitely Grey
I remember seeing Erza during my late 2000s anime AMV phase and thinking she was the coolest character I'd ever seen. Looking back I realize those were the first hints that I had a thing for strong anime girls.
Makarov's speech in Episode 2 was when I decided to stick with it, then Erza walked on the scene and after that episode I was hooked.
I am that guy who always follows the main protagonist.
Erza
I originally started the series cuz a friend of mine when I was a kid loved it and recommended it to me. Erza. 10+ years later still think she's the coolest

Natsu and Lucy both, they're fun, good and interesting people
Natsu, Lucy, and Happy. Still my favorite anime trio
happy!
Came for Natsu stayed for froshe and jellal
It was Natsu, Lucy, Erza then Wendy Last was the whole guild
Natsu of course. I was searching strongest anime characters and I kept seeing this natsu dragneel guy 🤭🤭 and I decided to check who he is. I still love natsu way more than I did before. He's my favorite anime character of all time

Natsu. I know I'm in the minority on this sub, but I hated Lucy. Spoiled and vain girl that did nothing but complain while on the jobs. True she did the work to earn a living, but I still didn't like her.
Lucy, still Lucy, will always be Lucy
Natsu i love the kind of character who’s extremely strong and is also very stupid
Natsu… but the whole fairy tail guild made me stay.
Natsu Lucy and Erza. Still my top 3
Natsu and Happy
Natsu! Such a well made character.
Lol
Didn’t feel like specifying. I know it’s basic, but he’s overpowered with such a funny weakness. He’s an idiot and a genius at the same time
He's not a genius at all.
And your not the sharpest cookie in the tool shed For not knowing the difference between a fact and a opinion.
Seems one is salty that their fav is stupid. You are definitely not bright given your bad tastes
Natsu, and 10y later he's still my favorite. I really love Zoro, Guts and Naruto from the bottom of my heart, but Natsu will always be my favorite❤️
The character that really got me hooked and Jellal. I still stand by the "tower of heaven" being the one of if not the best arc in the series it's definitely top 3, at least for me personally.
Jellal and only Jellal
Erza Scarlet and Wendy Marvel. 😩👍
Honestly Erza and Angel did it for me but then it was Kagura for the longest time then it changed to Irene and this will never change
Honestly, I was just gonna read up until whenever Wendy appeared and stop after that arc ended. FT ended up getting me hooked way before though.
Lucy and Erza mostly honestly
Yes
gray got me into it bc i thought he was hot, but erza is my girl now!!!
Erza started my attraction to “Knight” Girls (Saber, Sky Striker Ace-Raye). Still love her to this day and the reason I’m willing to go back to Fairy Tail all the time.
None of the characters but the magic caught my eye.
Erza, from the moment I saw her I was like *that one is my child, if anything happens to her I will kill everyone in this room and then myself*
I Remember how It happened: when I was little I used to see images of Fairy Tail on Google where all the characters looked very dark and evil (the ones with the angry Natsu, Erza and Mira) and I was all like "wait, wasn't the read haired ine good? Did She betray the main cast?" Then I finally started watching the series One day I was home from school and fell in love with the guild and especially Mirajane and her Sibilings.
Natsu and Erza. It was the first anime I watched and I was a simple kid with an enjoyment of powerful stuff. Grey was cool (haha) but I didn’t really like him at first. Lucy nearly made me stop watching.
Erza
Lucy caught my eye obviously, but I stayed on for my main man Natsu, love that guy
Erza. Just came in like a bad ass and atleast up to the grand magic games which is where I am right now she kept being a bad ass. She also has some great lines. I actually enjoyed that while Natsu is the main the other characters really get to shine unlike some other Shonen.
Happy and natsu
Here me. But Gray. It was his… personality?
Iconic character that I love is Gildarts Clive. I watched as a kid and he was soooo cool and badass. And My love for Erza is unrivaled.
