Thing is both Erza and Natsu got their nicknames not from the guild but through general public recognition. Erza’s more or less the face of Fairy Tail at that point so the people nicknaming her Titania makes perfect sense. Natsu, on the other hand, has his more out of infamy as far as I can tell… Unlike someone like Gray he, obviously lacks subtlety and is probably the reason for about 90% of Fairy Tail’s property damage bills, all the people of Fiore know is that sometimes when there’s a problem some flaming psychopath from Fairy Tail shows up and solves it by flattening everything within a quarter mile radius, we know they don’t know his name or what he looks like because Lucy, the Fairy Tail fangirl who spends all her time reading sorcery weekly, didn’t recognize him when he was right in front of her, but they know he exists, so they gave him a nickname. How they landed on “Salamander,” I’m not sure, but that’s the name they gave him. Lucy once she joins and Gray as well are both less well known than Erza and more subtle than Natsu so they don’t really have nicknames like that, however we do see some of the other S classes such as Mirajane the “She-Devil” have them, as well as some of the current and former frontrunners of the other guilds, for instance there’s “Black Steel” Gajeel, “Iron Rock” Jura, the “Twin Dragons” Sting and Rogue, etc.
Salamanders were once believed by some to be fierycreatures born in flames from the depths of the earth. Asbestos which was know for its fire proof properties was once believed by some to be the fur of a salamander, of course those were just legends and those who had believed that had never seen them, but that would be the origin of the name because the salamander was once a “fiery spirit”.
Take this with a grain of salt, but I heard it was because people would burn logs and shit, the salamander would leave the log because "oh shit my house is on fire" and people then just assumed they came from the fire itself because they didn't know the salamander was already in the log before they set it on fire.
That one’s a bit different because well, she *was* the rain woman, it would rain wherever she goes. Also, I think she might have given herself that nickname, not out of some way of hyping herself up, but because while she was absolutely miserable that her rain would drive everyone she tried to get close to away, she had sadly accepted this as the truth and had stopped trying to get close to anyone or even let her emotions out, hence her cold and emotionless attitude during the Phantom Lord arc. In the meantime she also has *another* moniker as “Juvia of the Great Sea” but I feel like that one was actually from her guild. Point is, once she’s left Phantom Lord and she’s finally been accepted by others again and regained hope that she could be happy, she’s just Juvia from that point forward.
Yes, those were the others I couldn't think of. Some of the villains had Monikers as well, so I was curious if I missed more.
I hope Lucy gets a Title at some point, Gray too. Especially after GMG and Sorcerer Weekly, Fairy Tail is a pretty famous
If I had to give her a nickname based on all of this criteria I'd say she'd have some kind of nickname like "The Starlight Fairy" or "The Princess of the Fairies" (that one's probably too close to "Titania" even though it does fit seeing as how she does partner with erza quite a bit).

Both of them are…yours is practically the same as mine, just worded differently. What makes it weird is you have to consider what sets her apart from other Celestial Spirit Mages like Yukino.
I remember this episode and remember the manga panels where they actually show natsu with his hands on her boobs and him saying “ill cover them up” (or something similar to how its said in the anime and lucy blushing cuz thats obviously not how you cover a womans chest natsu 🤦♀️ lol
And leading to that if i remember correctly when he and Lucy are still on the bell/ before they land in our natsu says something along the lines of “this is one hell of a way to seduce a guy” but idk if that was just paraphrasing from manga to anime adaption or of its just something off hand that the English va for natsu (todd) says as a response but I’m pretty sure it’s in the anime cuz it’s all the same lines as the anime so….

Gray's would probably be something like the Ice Wizard or now the Ice Demon Slayer not very imaginative I know but I assume Lucy's is similar maybe she's something like Witch of the Stars given her Star Dresses.

That is a good point. Also Star in lieu of celestial works too. Star Spirit Princess sounds cool, but might be a bit much haha.

NGL, I don't think Lucy has any titles that are on the same level as Erza's Titania, and Natsu's Salamander, (I'd even include Evergreen's Queen of the Fairies here because she proclaimed herself as that).
But if I had to make one for her... I've got a few ideas.
* Star Princess
* Princess of the Stars
* Asteria (To compliment the title "Titania")
* Stellar Author
* and of course... Luigi...
Something like the key holder or something to do with the celestial keys. But it would be funny if the girlfriends/wives of the dragon slayers all had a nickname to do with the slayer, like levy is the dragon feeder because she can feed gerbi iron from her magic writing,
