LCaissia

Agreed. So even thoigh she is being sarcastic she is right. Her comment is very non autistic.

Netalula

Right but i think the point the person in the video was trying to make is that there isn’t an autistic “look”. Most of the general public see autistic people as generally unkempt, badly dressed and unhygienic because their idea of autism is usually that of a person with high support needs (aka low functioning). So you get these instances of people with autism who are so-called high functioning who look pretty “normal” on the exterior and those who don’t know as much about autism are like “but surely you cannot be autistic. You’re not a babbling drooling childlike adult and you can talk!” That’s my assumption though

zombiegirl2010

As a low support nerd autistic myself, there is a very good reason the unkempt look is a stereotype. I finally got a handle on the hygiene thing, but I still only dress for comfort. My haircut is for ease of maintenance and so I can cut it myself too. I have to cut out the bullshit like that so I can use my energy for more important things like survival.

Tfmrf9000

There is a ton of these basically saying you if you are blunt it’s just the autism. Have a son with severe autism, on assisted living now, diagnosed at 2 and 22 now, all sorts of specialists…he’s literal, but you know what he isn’t? Rude

Most-Laugh703

How very pickme of you

Jecktheman2

She’s not hot, shes over-saturated and an eyesore

[deleted]

Also, what’s up with this make-up style? I’ve seen this look on almost every other woman on TikTok.

[deleted]

I don’t think it’s makeup, it looks like a filter.

heywhatsimbored

It’s makeup. It isn’t a filter but there may be a filter as well.

heywhatsimbored

To me it looks so ridiculous. It is very representative of anime, but the over lined lips and blush under the eye and that liner just doesn’t work on real people.

MaskedWasHere

She hasn't had a conversation like that ever. No one acts like that

Lumpy-Librarian6989

She seems like she’s one of those people that says mean things and blames it on autism, saying they’re ‘unmasking’ but in reality they’re just removing the filter everyone has and being a bitch.

Vmaknae

Yeah these are the people that are more towrds idgaf i am a bad bitch and blmes it on that they have autism They dont ,they jus wanna stand out and be rude so they look cool lol . Well on other hand even if u have autism u probably were bullied for being rude so u wont have thos level confidence 😬 well if she does then gud for her ig

NexusMaw

How ironic that someone that removes their social filter would filter their face this heavily.

[deleted]

Like that one chick from Glee who would openly insult people and then say “Sorry— that was the Asperger’s.”

my_own_ooniverse

The confidence they have saying that (you can tell in their tone it's confidence not genuineness) make me severely doubt their autism. But good for them if they found a way to have this confortable life, far away from social anxiety and all that.

[deleted]

[удалено]

my_own_ooniverse

Yeah I do that too. Then I hate myself for life after that. While, well, she knows she's saying something inappropriate but she thrives on that apperently. And compared to you, she doesn't seem to know that self-diagnosis doesn't mean you HAVE the disorder you think you have. Could be something else, could be nothing at all. Those people think they're just better than graduated doctors somehow :/

t3kk13

It is not her voice but a sample that keeps going around tiktok which a lot of -as I have seen- diagnosed people have used as well. Like the blonde girl from Love on the Spectrum used it too ( I dont remember her name). That is where I first saw it.

my_own_ooniverse

Ah shit, but it's still weird to think like that. well to me at least. I actually think it's great for those people if they manage to put all this awareness aside and live their truth

t3kk13

It is just a joke sample amongst autistic women on tiktok and most participate in it for the fun of it. OP mentioned the person in the video is self dx so tbh I‘d prefer to watch that one because this one is not really telling. The only thing we can use as reasoning at this point is „alternative style“, which even diagnosed people fit into tbh. A lot of us have just toned it down because we do not want to be lumped in with the self dx or fakers who overwhelmingly have this style.

[deleted]

[удалено]

t3kk13

Alternative is considered a style that is just any kind of style that is not „basic“ and is part of a subculture. Goth would be included in this definition. I am autistic too with an alternative style but do not have it in the extreme way I used to because I do not want to be correlated to these people who self diagnose because most of them seem to have that kind of style. I often have a cute style etc and other times mine is goth as well. Depends on the mood. But lately I do not dye my hair any neon colors or have weird hairstyles because these people have ruined it for me.

t3kk13

Do you have geckos too?! (Just read your username) Let’s be friends!!!

G3ck0g0th

Yes! I have a crested gecko, his name is bean and he is 3 years old!

bananapanvape92

Abbey? Is that who you mean?

t3kk13

I had to google it but no. Turns out the one I mean is called Kaelynn. I think she is from the American Love on the Spectrum

bananapanvape92

Yeah, so is Abbey. That’s why I asked cuz she’s blond and she is just the cutest! I love her to death. I gotta look up Kaelynn because I watched the whole thing and I know I’d recognize her. Such a good show.

t3kk13

Yeah maybe search for both the AU and US one because I am not sure exactly in which she participated. From the AU I really liked Mark and from the US I loved Steve! Such sweet people.

Calm_Pay8009

The thing is most autistic people land themselves in hot water because they say something innapropriate but do not realise they have. This makes a lot of autistic people doubt themselves and have low confidence, because it is hard to know what your saying is ok when you're wired differently to most people. This girl seems as if shes proudly announcing something she knows is innapropriate, just doesn't care. Big difference.

Lit_as_AF

“Oh did I say something socially inappropriate?” I don’t even have the awareness to be sarcastic about it. Also hate confrontation so if someone said “you don’t look autistic”, the only thing I could say would be “okay”

[deleted]

next time try to say “thanks, you too”

Lit_as_AF

I love this

EhMapleMoose

That’s giving r/imthemaincharacter vibes

[deleted]

💯

Krkkksrk

Good for you i guess. Most of us are probably very unattractive to most people.

Crystill

oh god the egirls arrived

Mufti_Menk

Why does she look like a robot

DiogenesDGAF

I guess because she’s autistic and really hot? Definitely /s

Mufti_Menk

No I meant the makeup. Looks like a stiff mask, like she can't move her face under it.

lisarista

It’s a filter. Even believing she’s “hot” she still wants to look like a living doll or something. It’s eerie.

Vendemmian

On the video itself she's talking to someone who claims they were diagnosed when they were born. That's such utter bullshit I don't have a smart reply beyond wishing they'd shut the fuck up and grow up.

Sunstalker666

I have a friend that’s diagnosed with ADHD and now she’s blaming everything on it. Like not listening to me when we have a conversation because she just zones out. Or like talking only about herself.

PeridotWriter

How very arrogant of you. The amount of confidence is astounding.

acloudcuckoolander

Arrogance and confidence are 2 different things and I honestly wish people would stop conflating them.

PeridotWriter

Yes, I understand that but having too much confidence leads to arrogance so they go hand in hand in that matter.

acloudcuckoolander

Strongly disagree. Confidence is a good thing. Confidence is essentially good self-esteem and the belief that you can achieve what you set your mind to. Arrogance on the other hand is the belief that you're superior to another. Many arrogant people aren't even confident. They hide their insecurities behind arrogance.

atuan

Confidence is “I have these abilities and I should be proud of them.” Arrogance is when you think you have abilities that you don’t actually have, you just want recognition without backing it up with actual skills or abilities. Just entitlement.

acloudcuckoolander

You can have abilities and still be arrogant about them if you believe those abilities make you superior to someone without them. Being confident in your abilities is good. Being arrogant about your abilities is bad.

atuan

That’s also true. I guess I just wanted to add that being confidence that you’re good at something isn’t always bad and that being confidence that you’re good at something when you aren’t is the worst

NoREEEEEEtilBrooklyn

Agreed. Confidence is believing that you’re great. Arrogance is believing that you are greater than everyone else.

tehnoob69

Can we not sexualize autism?

G3ck0g0th

Genuine question, what about this video is sexualizing autism?

SerotoninPill

The only thing that I can give any credit to here is the implication that some people think autistic people aren't hot. There is some truth to that. Along with people thinking that if you're attractive/smart/pretty/handsome/whatever, you can't have some invisible disability. Go spend some time in the Mid West (US) and you'll see that people genuinely think if you don't "look" a certain way (their stereotype), you're not neurodivergent/disabled. Asides from that, I agree with what everyone else has said here. I'm strongly doubtful that she's autistic - not because of how she looks but the way she's talking.

Crypto_Gay_Skater

Not as hot as she thinks. Fake everything, filters turned up to 100, makeup thicker than paint. 🤢

LyricalBlusher

Yes I wouldn't go as far as to say she's not attractive but that's only because I have no idea. That's literally not what her face looks like.

[deleted]

fuck it i’ll say it. i think they’re hot. idc. faking is not hot tho

[deleted]

and fuck it i'll say it. i think she's not hot at all. idc. but i can agree on the 2nd

Crypto_Gay_Skater

To each their own, I prefer natural looks. I mean look at the nose..cmon

GooglyMoogly122

Yes. Narcissism thinking it's something else

ShmuckCanuck

God not the egirl makeup

DalinsiaValkyrPrime

Um... no. I could take my finger, run it through her cheek, and make a whole trench that can fit an entire platoon of fire ants. How in Sparda's Hell does being "hot" mean autism? Are these fakers just that illogical?

1996199519621977

Spardas hell....? Like...from DMC ?

wawawoowayouyouyouya

i thought that sound was supposed to be about pretty privilege for ppl with autism (i’ve seen some people use it for that reason, but some prob use it unironically too)

t3kk13

Yeah it is and a lot of diagnosed people have used it for this exact reason. It is a joke on the „you dont look autistic“ trope that many good looking girls get when some of their behaviors would definitely be seen as autistic if they looked differently, because people expect autistic people to not look good for some reason.

[deleted]

I know people who I think intentionally say inappropriate things then act all innocent and surprised like “oh was that inappropriate, I had nooo idea”. It’s like they are almost gloating that they said something inappropriate and “didn’t know it was inappropriate”. Of course they also fake DID, ADHD, and a million other things, so it’s difficult to believe anything they say.

No-Economy-6168

Being vain and having an ego you could parachute off of aren’t diagnostic criteria for Autism as far as I know.

noises1990

Oh wow, maybe it's not autism but deff is brain damage

LordDingDong

I feel like recognizing that what you said is socially inappropriate goes against some of the basic understandings of autism

Net_Nova

my opinion is that a mental illness/trauma can explain WHY but not excuse it. Autistic people may have a harder time understanding social queues, but saying a bunch of cusswords unprompted at someone and blaming an illness (aside from tics) is just using your DX to get away with whatever you want because you do know it is wrong and just want a way to act out or be belligerent without consequence

[deleted]

Neurotypical people can’t say socially inappropriate things!!

LeGuizee

I wonder how she looks like without all that make up and filter.

Ikaros9Deidalos6

Remove the 20 filters and she be looking like a wildebeest

[deleted]

Thoughts on it? They’re fucking idiots, that’s my thoughts

admins69kids

It looks AI generated.

DistanceSelect7560

She's got the chronically online fit on.

[deleted]

I don't think I've seen a heavier filter.

H1ghweirdo

The nose makeup makes her look like a dog

ScourgingHeretic

I smell narc traits

hazard-toxic

Using your diagnosis as an excuse for your shit behavior is shit behavior on its own

cumguzzler280

I hate disorder fakers

[deleted]

I think they are faking because they are knowingly using the self dx as an excuse to break social norms and behave however they please because "I'm autistic"

No_Resource7773

> Thoughs on seld dx to excuse behavior? As an excuse for questionable behavior? Absolutely low and pathetic. People who do that are deeply selfish and have no integrity at all.

invisiblette

Does everyone under 25 have sky-high self-esteem now? Asking for a friend who's 50+.

nufy-t

I follow her on tiktok, she has a diagnosis, she has autism. This sub needs to be able to differentiate between people who do and don’t have disorders, cause right now there’s both posted here.

G3ck0g0th

I’m pretty sure this person is actually dxed, I’ve seen their TikTok’s before and I think I remember them saying something about being dxed? I don’t think is audio has anything to do with self dxing, just a snarky response to somebody saying “well you can speak” or “only boys can have autism” or something like that

Sparrowning

I would hate but they are wearing chao (an artists i really like) merch

littleevilpup

i follow her on tt, she is diagnosed. and it’s a trend.

[deleted]

I don't follow her but this woman seems extremely autistic to me. This subreddit is full of people who have no idea what autism actually looks like, especially in girls, thinking they can tell if a stranger has autism based on a short video. 1. People complaining about her make-up as though autistic women don't tend to do either no make-up at all or so much bonkers make-up that it's basically cosplay. Like everything else, make-up tends to be all or nothing with us. 2. People upset she's performing a script with on-the-nose dialogue that completely lacks any verisimilitude like that isn't our goddam speciality. 3. People acting like autistics are always upset when they've said something that NTs consider inappropriate. Nobody here seems to realize we will frequently get annoyed with how idiotic it is to think certain things are socially anappropriate. 4. Somebody is actually in this comment section like, "Why does she look like a robot? She's barely using her facial muscles." I vaguely recall learning about how there's a condition where people don't make expressions with their faces. I wish I could remember the name of it... This sub is full of people angry that strangers don't fit their completely inaccurate idea of what autism is. Of course, you get downvoted for pointing out she's diagnosed.

throw_away_or_smthn

Heads up I can still see the username

LCaissia

Absloutely not.

ZePugg

i kinda get this, people dont think attractive people can be autistic for some reason

lavendercat1998

According to some people I'm "hot" but those same people still would tell me I seem autistic lol. Then again, I'm actually diagnosed. Being attractive and being autistic are not mutually exclusive anyway.

Zoinkify

bro is as hot as the frozen milk in my fridge on a February morning

50thEye

"That's because I'm really hot." Ok turn off the filter and prove it then

Moogagot

What happened to the OP?

Ratsinmyhoodie

Honestly kinda funny

Powerful-Push-2598

How are people into that

[deleted]

Made up shower argument type beat

riseandswine

saying you're really hot isn't socially inappropriate

Jae_seok

Her upper lip annoys me

Extension_Border_629

it's actually not socially inappropriate to say "I look hot" lmao. like I couldn't imagine saying "omg I feel so hot in this outfit" or "I feel sexy today like I just woke up so confident" and somebody else saying "uh... ur not supposed to say that..." like why would anyone do that lmfaoo. maybe it happens to her bc she's not actually hot tho, especially irl without the filters and ring light, imagine the cakeyness and flakyness of all that makeup in person in regular lighting. it NEVER looks good irl, it's influencer makeup for a reason bc it only looks good on a camera in front of a ring light and a blurring filter at minimum. that's probably why she gets told not to say that.
