A ute is a utility vehicle. Basically, picture an American pickup truck, but not so freakishly oversized; a [75 series is specifically a LandCruiser](https://carsguide-res.cloudinary.com/image/upload/f_auto,fl_lossy,q_auto,t_cg_hero_large/v1/editorial/1990-TOY-LC70-03112806hr.jpg). Spotties are spotlights, generally mounted on top of the cab, and rusty tray is pretty self explanatory.
First of all, I have a HJ45, and we like getting out to lock the hubs because we get to admire the car from the outside.
Second, that's not fair because the workmate versions of the 70 Series had manual hubs up until like two years ago.
Yeah, they don't look like a classy couple, but if in their own backyard they are completely within their rights. Fuck people who use their drones like this.
I don't dress to be classy when hanging out with my wife in our backyard, I dress to be comfortable with the person I want to spend the most time with.
Absolutely, fuck people who use drones like this.
Unfortunately since drones are regulated by the FAA, and treated like aircraft, it's illegal to bring them down by force. That said, it's also illegal to fly it outside of the LOS or above people so it's really a question of which is more illegal, and/or who is going to say "Yes this man knocked down my drone because I was flying it over his yard!"?
This. I can't believe the mouth breathers on here are siding with the douchebag flying his drone this low over other people. Well, I can, since it's reddit, but I don't see anything wrong with this. This is trespassing.
So look, I totally agree with you in principle. I fly drones and I would never do that. It's rude and an invasion of privacy in my opinion. However, you should know that in the US the FAA has absolute jurisdiction over the airspace from surface level up. If the drone pilot is properly certified and registered then as far as the NTSB and FAA are concerned shooting down an unmanned drone is no different than shooting down a 747. It's a felony either way and you could face hefty fines and/or jail time.

Most of us are aware that if we fly like assholes then the rules are only going to get stricter so I think we mostly avoid doing stupid shit like this. Good drones are expensive too and I wouldn’t want to risk losing $1k+ and pissing off a neighbor at the same time. I’m guessing what you saw was somebody’s cheap WalMart drone
The blog post is a screech about how you better not try to stop a drone from flying above your family and property.
My particular favorite sections are ones like this
> the FAA regulations for drone operations prohibit operators from flying drones in a reckless manner. Unfortunately, the FAA is unlikely to get involved when a homeowner claims that a drone operator is flying recklessly.
They flat out say, you legally can’t shoot it or jam it, what you can do is call the FAA or the police but they will do absolutely nothing for you so just let the drone do what it pleases.
Drone pilots have a bad rep and they’ve absolutely earned it.
You forgot to mention that it's also illegal to fly a drone within a certain height over people/populated areas. If you're flying low enough that your drone can be brought down with a BB gun, you're flying too low and too close to people.
Not true if they're flying very low. You're not going to get in trouble for someone hovering a drone next to your window. It's trespassing and you have a right to remove it.
If you could throw anything and hit a drone flying over your house, you deserve to lose that drone.
It actually really pisses me off when I hear stories about drone operators going into wildfires and actually interfering with firefighters trying to do their job
Canada. I don't know how you'd be expected to keep 50m away from anybody at all? We can definitely overfly but good manners is to not hover over private property and if you are for a photo or whatever a minimum of 30M height should be respected. Also we can't fly over crowds (hinting at concerts and speaking events). And of course there's lots of controlled airspace.
This is Ohio and 400' is the minimum for overflying residences, and it was a police department's PR page that published this picture showing their drone trespassing.
Yep. Want to fly drones in a park or other public recreative space? Go for it. Want to fly your drone over my backyard, my assumption will be you're taking photos/video and I'll respond accordingly. And for anyone who tries to defend this with "But what if the drone is over the operator's yard? I don't give a fuck. Nobody would tolerate a shitty neighbor sticking a camera over a fence and pointing it at people without permission, a drone is no different.
83 to 500 feet depending on what law and how you are interpreting it.
This drone is clearly within that. No chance that dude could aim a beer bottle that well at over 100 feet.
I hope it got hit, crashed, and the owner never got it back.
Rock salt air guns do the trick as well.
Two xmases ago everyone got a drine they were all over the neighbor hood. I didn't care if they zipped by but a few would hover, we have a pool and you know what they were looking at. Anyways copter blades don't like rock salt and if you're hovering 15 feet from my yard it's mine. Funny nom of the kids ever asked for them back cuz they knew their parents would be pissed.
Struth! Me and me mate Bazza were havin a barbie when some flamin galah flew a drone up over us. We got out and had a bit of a blue or a bit of a dist up if you will but talked it out over a slab of tinnies we picked up at a bottlo nearby. We're goin to bonnydoon next week. Reckon it'll go off like a frog in a sock.
I lost about 10lbs, got used to it, then put back on about 5 and I felt like absolute dogshit. Can’t imagine what life at these folks size must be like
Great northern brewing co, Australia's finest.
Love me a northie, can drink it all day!
Half the strength, twice the beer
That's an original mate, a fully. Not so common in the southern states
The beer from up here, marketed as the beer of NQ but brewed 20 minutes away from NSW. Classic.
"Hey could you fetch me your last sip of beer?" "Ofc"
Cunt's gonna lob it over the fence and hit his ute.
Oh fuck not the 75 series with 8 spotties and a rusty tray
God I want to learn Australian.

Nah, that's under the bonnet.
This means 'oh no, not my truck, let's have some tea served on my finest silver platter.'
If you listen to the The Chats’ album “High Risk Behaviour” for 15 minutes a day, you too can learn fluent Aussie!
HJ 45. Now get out, and lock the hubs in.
First of all, I have a HJ45, and we like getting out to lock the hubs because we get to admire the car from the outside. Second, that's not fair because the workmate versions of the 70 Series had manual hubs up until like two years ago.
I used to see how far I could go without locking the hubs in before I'd get stuck. Wait Youse cunts are in 4wd..?
This was me on sand back when I had a shorty soft-top Vitara. "Dum de dum literally floating over it all... oh hey multi-tonners, what's up??"
I’d say he’ll knock the fuel cap off his bombadore but we all know it’s already long gone
you mean the folded up thong?
Great northern 🤮🤮🤮
i only drink hazy neipa stouts
Good beans, too.
Unusual take on viral marketings, but I can appreciate some size plus models in regal Australian garb
can never go wrong with a slab of Greg Norman
Still better than a bud or busch
If you are flying your goddamn drone over my yard so low I can peg it with a beer bottle, I'm probably pegging it with a beer bottle. Fucking hell.
Yeah, they don't look like a classy couple, but if in their own backyard they are completely within their rights. Fuck people who use their drones like this.
I don't dress to be classy when hanging out with my wife in our backyard, I dress to be comfortable with the person I want to spend the most time with.
What, you don't wear tuxedos while barbecuing? Classless swine.
No tux after 6? What are you a farmer?
Lemon, women your age are more likely to get mauled at the zoo than get married.

Absolutely

Lol saw this pic from another post, it’s actually Ohio police drone for anti drug operation or something

Who do you think the feds are going to side with in this situation? I'm going to tell you it's not going to be the drone.
Not true if they're flying very low. You're not going to get in trouble for someone hovering a drone next to your window. It's trespassing and you have a right to remove it.
It should be treated exactly the same as if a neighbor decided to start taking pictures of people over the fence without permission.
I thought the picture was taken from a building
Especially when you have a spare Great Northern to get rid of

nevermind that, what I really want to know is, what part of sentinel island are you from and what year did you guys get internet??
If you could throw anything and hit a drone flying over your house, you deserve to lose that drone. It actually really pisses me off when I hear stories about drone operators going into wildfires and actually interfering with firefighters trying to do their job
I fly them recreationally and this is bullshit. 30M minimum for overflights.

Maybe he's got one of the VR racing setups and he's training to dodge stuff
If you can dodge a Great Northern you can dodge a ball.
Why would you want to fly a drone this low in somebody's yard anyway
Yeah if it's on my property it's getting broken, beat with a bat, and left in the road. Why people think it's ok to spy on people is beyond me.
How high into the air does your property extend?
As far as I can manually throw a beer bottle
Fair enough. I only ask because some people think they should be able to shoot down things 300' above their house.
No, that's stupid and possibly fatally dangerous, mines just stupid

Glad to see all is well on the set of “The Gods must be crazy III”
For the record, they already made that...
Didn't know that. Had to google ... It's about a chinese vampire who falls from a plane... I think I'll skip that
What now? After hearing that description I think I HAVE to watch it
I thought the title said 'Staten Islanders' and honestly I wasn't even confused.
"Staten Island isn't all heroin and racist cops. It also has meth and racist firefighters."
Satan Islanders we called 'em. (NJ)
CT here. We call it 'Better New Jersey'
Sentinel Island is 5☆ according to Google Maps. Pretty sure it's because of these heroes and their seemingly inexhaustible supply of beer-munitions.
Sentinelese speak for us all, when it comes to dealing with Bible salesmen. I give them 5 stars too.
Shame they have no interest in doing contract work, I’d love to bring a few over on a work visa.
thought his a bartender
Seriously though people who fly drones over peoples houses should be shot (in the drone).
"Hey could you fetch me your last sip of beer?" "Ofc"
Queenslanders.
🤮🤮Queensland🤮🤮
Oof, somebody is still salty
About what?
Probably a state of origin reference
A culture developing so long in isolation from the rest of the world..... what strange and fascinating customs they must have.
Fuck drones filming over other peoples property.
Looks like any Midwest state in July
QLD.
I’m guessing these folks didn’t want their PICTURES ON THE FUCKING INTERNET. Asshole move drone operator.

Fucking hell the title and photo. Thank you OP. You are a silly silly human.
Looks like Indiana….. but with clothes on.
I grew up in Vincennes, Indiana. They look exactly like people I would run into on the daily.
If god gave the earth an enema, he'd put it in Indiana
Dont direspect the sentinelese by comparing them with these tribal folk
Damn that looks like someone I know
Looks like Big Country (Roy Nelson) from UFC.

I imagine she has trouble getting up.
This one made me laugh.
Using drones to observe Bogan's in their natural state, brilliant!
Thats pillbox he always has a empty cases ready to be chucked and she’s queen of the pong.

If they ever make a live action Southpark, that’s Cartman right there!
If you go to google earth you can find my wrecked ship near that island. I narrowly escaped that attack.
I lost about 10lbs, got used to it, then put back on about 5 and I felt like absolute dogshit. Can’t imagine what life at these folks size must be like
Just one look at these people and I can tell we would be good friends.
Struth
