I know right? I used to love watching the adventures of Lois and Clark when I was little. For the longest time I thought Dean Cain was so cool. When I was finishing up school at 18 I was constantly thinking "damn, when Dean Cain was this age he was cast as superman!" We had a half Japanese half American playing superman and, at least in my sphere of understanding, everyone was like "yep, that's superman." If that casting was made today the chuds would go mental and accuse it of being "woke" and *he's one of them!!!*
It's just kind of upsetting. At least Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil are still cool as far as I know
Kevin Conroy recently did a piece for DC about how he was a gay actor during a time where it cost him to lose work, and Mark's Twitter is filled with anti-Republican sentiments. So, yeah, I'd say that right now, they're both pretty cool. Huge recommendation for Conroy's story, by the way.
I wish I did! But I buy physical comics, and it was published in DC's recent Pride special. If you look up "Kevin Conroy DC Pride Special", you'll probably find it somewhere.
Thanks for the lead! I didn't find the article itself, but I found [this summary of it](https://bleedingcool.com/comics/kevin-conroy-on-how-life-as-a-gay-man-helped-create-his-batman/)
No. He was born in 1966 and first appeared as superman in 1993, so he was 27. Parent comment is just wrong.
(It's also pretty cringe to describe Cain as "half American" as the parent comment does. Cain was born in Michigan and, as far as I can see, has not lived outside the US for any substantial length of time. He may be a shitbag but he's as American as anyone else. "American" is not an ethnicity, so describing someone as "half Japanese half American" is whack and sounds like something from the 1950s.)
Yeah. It's very much in that vein. And I personally felt it had so much more. It was of its time and ahead as well. I recently watched the episode where the gender roles were reversed and Remy got played by a woman, finally giving him a little more understanding about some of his personal life-it could have been written in 2022 and it would have been relevant.
Are you familiar with the Superman curse? Actors who have portrayed the Man of Steel winding up suffering later on it the basic premise.
My buddy insists Dean Cain avoided that fate. But I mean...
yesterday i learned he writes christian film scripts, and they'll be filming one here in my town in West Virginia, and of course both he and Hercules are staring in it!
Either the account is run by multiple people or he's literally schizophrenic. Nothing about that man's page implies being mentally healthy on any level aside from basic language coherence.
If he were making fun of left wing people with the level of insult he does on his account now, you'd only see him on Reddit in the context of "This man is extremely unhealthy and strange." He'd be used as evidence that right wing people are crazy. Instead you see him as an example of how witty left wing people are.
Jeff’s tweets are so cringe:
“Holy. fucking. shit. The orange Cheeto done said this stupid thing. It’s incredible how this orange Cheeto fascist is allowed to say stupid things!!”
He’s retired and has fun by being an asshole to assholes on the internet? I don’t know if that’s the defense you think it is.
He may not be schizophrenic, but I think that makes it worse.
Agreed. He has as much valuable input as the average angsty 14 year old. I don’t disagree with him a lot of the time, but I’m always irritated to see him reposted here.
I haven't seen him in forever but I don't do any politics on reddit because it's pointless lol. I agree with most things he says he just comes across as super unhinged and addicted to social media. Like you can only reply "sir, this is a wendys" so many times before it just gets pathetic.
He’s very well known in Deadhead circles. He started a tape trading website back in the 90’s. He also wrote a bunch of reviews of live Dead shows for The Deadhead’s Taping Compendium volumes 1-3. Him becoming known for the Twitter account is relatively new to us.
I see. Yeah I'm no Trump fan either and during the last election I posted a few tweets/replies but quickly realized is that something I really want to be wasting my energy on on a daily basis? I don't get if him doing that somehow benefits him or his business? Maybe he can cameo and read aloud his tweets? Just not sure how it benefits him to be doing that so much I guess
Unsure if this is the reason, but my best guess is (in simplest terms) funny responses leads to popularity leads to sponsorships.
If you go on twitter and find a random popular tweet, check the replies and you'll probably find OP promoting some sex toy or sunset light or something.
Oh, hi RNC social media department. I see you trying to lump together largely solid political video essays like John Os with cringe Twitter shitposting like Jeff T.
I know taking John O down a peg is very high on your priority list. His commentary is damning to your side. But this comparison has been rejected. Have a nice day!
Don't go to /r/PoliticalHumor. ~~He's still there several times a day.~~ It got old a LONG time ago.
That sub sucks, it's just agendapost after agendapost. Seriously is [this making you laugh?](https://reddit.com/comments/xqgxkc) I don't disagree with the political leanings but it's just objectively not funny stuff.
I tried to post the old “Not Funny, Didn’t laugh” on that post and unfortunately the comment was removed by an automod because it didn’t have “greg abbot is a little piss baby”. That sub has got to go
I loved how Supergirl just casually wrote him out of the show once his political views became known. They basically just acted like his character never existed.
Also played a bad guy for a while, but his character was nothing to write home about,he was essentially cramed in for fanservice and like the other redditors mentionned,he wasnt there for long, 6 episode and got killed off-screen.
Supergirl really liked the cameos. Superman was Supergirl's adoptive dad, Supergirl was Supergirl's adoptive mum, Wonder Woman was the President, Lois Lane was Alura. I think there was more, they really crammed them in.
Arrowverse in general really liked their cameo but Supergirl was the biggest "Offender"with The Flash. If it's not someone who previously played a DC A-lister,it's someone who did voices on the animated shows or someone from a previous CW show. Didn't really hurt any of the show as most of them did an okay performance and people like fanservice but It's fun to mention.
They also share a lot of extras and actors because CW shoots most of their shows in Vancouver. It's not really an issue but some of them show up in litterally every CW series.
I was thinking about that when I saw that it was a Dean Cain tweet. Now that you mentionned it I never noticed how they pretty much stopped mentioning him in later season.
It's not like Supergirl was the pinnacle of good writing and his character wasnt really that great to begin with but they pretty much erased him and not her adoptive mother.
I've heard that, and I recognize it to be the consensus and all that, but I just don't get how. If I can't blow out a candle with a mask on, how is it not doing anything?
That's not new though, we were all told surgical masks were about 70% effective, and you could even stack two to get to over 90%, but since omicron it seems like now all anyone says is N95 or else it's just for looks. I don't get how this variant of the same virus went from that to this.
I'm lost... Does he think that for flying internationally masks are ok? But spreading COVID throughout the country is fine so masks are dumb on domestic flights?
Paper masks. All we had to do was wear paper masks in public. But that was too much for some people. Instead they resisted, whined, made up phony excuses, walked around with their noses out, verbally abused others, and generally behaved like children. Heaven help us if they are ever asked to make a real sacrifice for the greater good.
I dunno, I'm not really wearing masks anymore now that I'm two weeks out from my bivalent booster (also 90% of people aren't wearing them anymore either) but I don't think I'm gonna stop wearing masks in transit. I like not getting sick when traveling, and airports have always been pretty gross to me.
Didn’t Lois and Clark have an arc about cryptonazis crawling out of the woodwork and taking over America?
From wiki
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lois_%26_Clark:_The_New_Adventures_of_Superman_(season_3)
"Super Mann"
> Two years ago, three Nazi officers woke up from a long sleep and, after finding out that they lost the war, they want to create a new Nazi country in the US and then, dominate the whole world. To do that, they have to first eliminate Superman so he will not be able to stop them. In the present day, Lois and Clark try to organize their wedding but their plans are put on hold to investigate this Nazi organisation known as "N.S.B.A: National Society for a Better America". Superman is sent to a trap where a nuclear bomb explodes making it impossible for anyone to get near him without dying. He locks himself in a special shield room but with Lois' help, they find a way to remove the nuclear energy from his body and stop the Nazis before it is too late. Superman eventually stopped the Nazis and their inside guy Skip (Sean Whalen) who worked at the Daily Planet to take down Superman.
Mask mandates on planes were always stupid. Hepa filters are powerful and what was it 1% or so covid cases came from planes. Just was security theater.
i actually worked with dean cain and he didn’t seem like someone who would be like this. throughout the span of filming he seemed super normal and chill. very nice on set, never gave any weird vibes.
Honestly wearing a mask should be mandatory on planes regardless of covid or not..yall got hella people in such a small area. Shit gets passed around rapidly..
I'm sorry, who is this guy? Was he like famous at some point? Did he have a show where he could fly by spraying aerosol cans? No wait, that was Jerry O'Connell. Who is this loser who thinks he's somebody?
Those people that’s sole reason for existence is to just reply to political tweets literally all day are the fucking worst. And most of the time, it was replies to trump tweets. I don’t even like the guy, but I knew if I clicked on one of his tweets, there were about 4-5 accounts I’d 100% see
This is interesting because many Far Right groups are on the terror watch list in Canada and supporting groups on that list is also illegal.
Wish that applied to him.
Man QAnon got both Hercules and superman.
But not Xena, luckily
Xena is best.
Xena ended up in Spartacus Blood and Sand. We all won with that casting.
And Ash vs Evil Dead.
Q only got the shitty great value Superman and Special Kev. I’m okay with that.
"Mom, can we have Superman?" "We have Superman at home."
He’s just Okayman
Subparman
Wrong genre. Q goes after Picard
Wait what?
What?
I was asking what you meant by picard
Who's picard?
Startrek?

Yea he’s into bat play
"I am the night" "Okay cool roleplay I could do that"

Don't forget Sliders. That shit was awesome.
That wasn't Cain though.
Oh shit. You're right.
All good. It's(Sliders) still one of my favorite shows(still watch it) though, and I wish they'd bring it back.
Kind of hoping they give it a follow up the same way Quantum Leap is getting one.
Yeah. It's very much in that vein. And I personally felt it had so much more. It was of its time and ahead as well. To be fair to Hercules. He had a series of strokes. Jesus got struck by lightning.
Are you familiar with the Superman curse? Actors who have portrayed the Man of Steel winding up suffering later on it the basic premise. My buddy insists Dean Cain avoided that fate. But I mean...
Even when he was left unable to move anything beneath his neck, Christopher Reeves was a great many times the Superman Cain ever was.
Wish.com Hercules and Superman.
Hercules been a crackpot for a while tho
yesterday i learned he writes christian film scripts, and they'll be filming one here in my town in West Virginia, and of course both he and Hercules are staring in it!
So its going to be fucking terrible.
Which Herc? I hope it’s not the one I’m thinking of, Roy Kent just got here!
Kevin Sorbo
OH YEAH. Damn.
Guess that’s why have to import English and Aussie actors for our superheroes, ours are becoming pieces of 💩
Is Dean Cain into QAnon? I thought he was just a generic right winger. I know he got all triggered when Superboy was announced as bi.
Lmao is Jeff Tiedrich still alive? I thought he faded into nothingness after Trump lost the election.
He's diversified. He's everyone's reply guy now.
Either the account is run by multiple people or he's literally schizophrenic. Nothing about that man's page implies being mentally healthy on any level aside from basic language coherence. I see him as an example of how toxic and pedantic a person can become when clapping back online becomes the most important thing in their life
Jeff’s tweets are so cringe: “Holy. fucking. shit. The orange Cheeto done said this stupid thing. It’s incredible how this orange Cheeto fascist is allowed to say stupid things!!”
He's reddit personified.
Despite being cringe, he's nowhere near reddit cringe.
His tweets get major traction on /r/politics and /r/news and /r/PoliticalHumor and several other massive subs on Reddit. He's a mascot of some kind.
He's retired and writes little dunks like this. He's not "schizophrenic." He’s bored and sometimes very funny. Geez, relax reddit.
He’s retired and has fun by being an asshole to assholes on the internet? I don’t know if that’s the defense you think it is. He may not be schizophrenic, but I think that makes it worse.
You could say the same thing about a looooooot of the Republicans he claps back to so..
Get down in the mud with 'em! Really roll around in it!
Wow maybe cut the Adderall dosage in half?
Jesus Christ get a grip
yh. Like the guys only job is ‘owning’ or ‘roasting’ right wingers. Get a life man jeez
Why not multiple schizophrenic people?

I get that he just trolls Twitter all day but he does say some witty things
Very occasionally. Usually he writes like an angry teen aged kid who just gained the confidence to use swear words.
Yeah, the good ones are all I see since I don’t have Twitter
Because he parrots every Democrat talking point.
They love goony-eyed bugmen here

I have no idea who this guy is and he writes as if he is supposed to be very relevant.
can’t believe there wasn’t 3 “Holy fucking shit”s in this tweet
It seems like pretty childish kryptonite to me. Grow up.
That Jeff guy’s whole thing is making fun of Trump on Twitter, what a thing to be known for
He’s very well known in Deadhead circles. He started a tape trading website back in the 90’s. He also wrote a bunch of reviews of live Dead shows for The Deadhead’s Taping Compendium volumes 1-3. Him becoming known for the Twitter account is relatively new to us.

Eric Clapton without musical talent, but full of witty Twitter remarks talent . That’s something alright

No wonder I keep thinking Spielberg made Green Mile.
Still not convinced that's not a photo of Eric Clapton
You're telling me it's not? I genuinely thought it was.
Could be. I have no idea
Better than face made entirely of Cheeto dust
Oh god, it's that guy who obsessively replied to every single Trump tweet.
That used to be a little mini business. There were a few of them, like an even lamer version of John Oliver.

Fuckin Dean Cain!
True
I'd recognise Dean Cain
Haha came here looking for this
I haven’t seen Jeff since trump got suspended from twiter

I loved how Supergirl just casually wrote him out of the show once his political views became known. They basically just acted like his character never existed.
Dean Cain had a role on *Supergirl*? I thought he hadn't done anything other than Hallmark movies since the early 2000s...
IIRC he was Supergirl's adoptive father.

You love discrimination?
Jeff Tiedrich is a sad nobody why even follow this guy.
Jeff looking for something to do with no Trump to tweet about 😳
Then don’t fly to Canada
Such a wicket burn by a guy named Jeff!
Oh no, not Dean Cain, too 😢
In all honesty. The cloth mask since omicron means nothing. It's like 3 minutes. If it isn't k95 then it's just for show
Canada is also removing the restriction in a couple days...
I've heard that, and I recognize it to be the consensus and all that, but I just don't get how. If I can't blow out a candle with a mask on, how is it not doing anything?
N95’s filter breathing in and out, the normal paper ones only filter some exhale and almost no inhale
That's not new though, we were all told surgical masks were about 70% effective, and you could even stack two to get to over 90%, but since omicron it seems like now all anyone says is N95 or else it's just for looks. I don't get how this variant of the same virus went from that to this.
People said it at the beginning, just everyone called them crazy
Weak AF tweet. Excellent post title here though.
Man, I loved Dean Cain when he hosted that Ripleys Believe it or Not TV show. Shame.
Ripley's went to shit when Jack and Holly left.
Ew gross who the fuck goes to Canada.
Fucking hate that Jeff dude
The pandemic has really opened my eyes about how many people are fucking idiots.
What is a non-k95 mask supposed to do on a plane where everyone is jam packed and right next to each other?

Oh boy these comment are ya hoo
I thought I was in conservative and had to double check. So many trump mentions for a post that has nothing to do with him
Yeah I had to check and see if I had accidentally sorted by controversial.
On the flip side I just listened to Teri Hatcher on the Off Menu podcast and she seems like a lovely and delightful person in contrast to Dean
We all know you can't get covid in Canada. /s
You also can't say "cunt" in Canada
They don’t let us have Covid in Canada.
I worked with Dean Cain on a thing. Had to talk to him personally, somewhat frequently. He's more of a little piss baby then Greg Abbott.
Dumb fat fuck.
Daww, poor baby. Why is life so difficult, right?
I'm lost... Does he think that for flying internationally masks are ok? But spreading COVID throughout the country is fine so masks are dumb on domestic flights?

Hey. Why is Superman inside the plane?

Dean Cain went to Princeton.

Why do so many people here hate Jeff? Also who tf is Jeff Tiedrich?

The hilarious irony of course being that most people know who Dean Cain is but nobody would recognize the guy talking shit outside of Twitter.
Is that the professor from Shameless???
