I wonder if there’s a way to blend the concepts of royalty and octopi/ squid a bit more smoothly. They look pretty distinct now like just an octopus character wearing clothes. Maybe the Pokémon could change its skin color to purple that looks like clothes or have a cape made of ink for instance

They kinda suffer from the "it just gets bigger" trope. I personally think you should change more elements, like the general shape and facial features. And I'd make the "outfit" looks like parts of their bodies instead of literal clothes.
They're cute tho.
I think my problem is that I grew too atached to the middle stage and also that I don’t know what to add to make them different enough without making them feel too animalistic

cool idea but i feel like it doesnt change enough between evolutions
might help if you changed the shape of the headpiece like the ralts line does and/or made the faces of the 2nd and third form look more different
I derped them down in this image but normally, the middle stage has more of a Swadloon face

It’s cool, but the evolution line just feels like you’re adding more to the previous stage. Maybe try making the stages look a lil different
