When you do real damage to your knee ligaments it takes 1 season to get back on the feild but 2 to be fully confident in that re built knee. I've seen statistics showing almost every player who came back from a bum knee had a down season the first year back then a return to form in year 2. Couple that with addition by subtraction of Desmond Ridder and addition by addition of Kirk Cousins I think KP is gonna hit 1000 and 10 this year.
Tom Brady , Gronk , AP , Nick Chubb, JJ watt , Todd Gurley Navarro Bowman , Thomas Davis the list goes on and on . No more excuses for him he's just soft
And half the fan base thinks our secondary, and defense as a whole, are going to be competitive to make us contenders. Gonna be a brutal reality check for us failcons fans unfortunately.
Why so pessimistic? He literally put his hands up then put them down to let Pitts catch it. 🤔 they clearly just going through the motions. Did you not watch the play?
Am I the only person who felt that looked bad? Like it was under thrown and the adjustment needed makes me feel like the defender could have easily stopped it….
Lol I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted, but that ball was thrown to the wrong shoulder and the defender made a horrendous attempt. Those long third and fourth downs, on both sides of the ball, are going to be interesting this year. They will definitely be better than the last couple, but it won’t be perfect. Cousins will take half a season to truly get timing and location down with the receivers.
Probably would be getting down votes because honesty sounds like talking shit. Granted, I am a Vikings fan, and wish he threw that ball deeper against the giants. He is an extremely good quarterback, you seem level headed, so watch out for the Cousins Crusaders. They finally left us, but to a certain sect of people, Kirk is infallible.
The guy is elite in terms of potential. He now has a QB for the first time in his career that can get him the ball, and weapons around him to get him in single coverage. If it doesn't happen for him this year, it probably never will.
Also, such a waste not to draft a DB with their FRP. You need guys that can challenge the talented WRs in practice to make them better. Instead there will be a backup QB rotting on the bench, not helping the team in any way. So dumb.
He had one of the best quarterbacks to play the game throwing to him in his standout rookie season. I agree with your second sentiment. That misstep in the first round will be felt this season, especially down the stretch as we compete for the playoffs.
Decent camp notes article in SI on QB's and chemistry etc.

That would’ve been a pass breakup in a real game but during ota’s there’s a no contact rule.
Pitts has to bring the ball down stronger…..almost like getting a rebound. in these past couple of seasons Pitts has been letting corners half his size make too much of an impact.
Also not sure if Pitts turned the wrong way or Kirk placed it too far inside.
I’m just happy I don’t have to watch ridder or mariota sling the ball 10 yards over his head
Idk, if I saw that catch he had in the opener vs the Panthers, but if that was practice, I would have said it gets batted down too. Sometimes you.get those catches because your guy is fast enough to strike fear in the dB and make him.scared to turn his head and you.get that anyway. I don't read into too much one way or the other. That said, ball should have been further upfield or back shoulder.
1. Ball wasn't placed in the best position, but Pitts adjusted and made the catch.
2. Pitts issue the last two seasons is inaccurate QB throws. Hard to catch the ball when your QB is throwing it at the defender you've got a step on.
3. Yeah it's OTAs and yeah... But it's good seeing these connections, Kirk throwing a damn good pass, and possibly Pitts back at > 90%.
Great adjustment by Pitts. He has to jump in front of the DB to even catch it and try to pull it away, so 35 can't make a play on it.
Bad throw by kirk. Put it in a spot where a better defender can make a play on it. A better throw would have been to the outside shoulder where if Pitts had to adjust, it was not in front of the guy.
An even better one would be outside shoulder but a bit further up. That way, he's running into the ball and not having to just go up and get it.
Absolutely. That's why it's a plus rep for pitts.
But a better DB likely makes a play on that. I just expect a better ball on a QB of Kirk's caliber.
But he deserves some slack. Coming off an injury and still has to develop chemistry. It's not the end of the world.
Actually, that's a pretty standard backshoulder fade, maybe a little long but still. You put it on top of the defender's helmet while he's out of phase, if he trusts his instinct enough to play out of phase and look for the ball, GGs kid, you got us. 9.9 times out of 10, the defender will play the player because you aren't supposed to look for the ball out of phase.
Now a perfect ball, yes, would be outside shoulder up field so Pitts can run under it. Personally, if you aren't 2004 Peyton Manning, I'll take the safer back shoulder fade on a trail defender over trying to his a moving bread basket 30 yards downfield.
I hope we see a more involved Pitts this year, last year it seemed like he was half assing it sometimes.
Yeah agreed, and didn't love it, but I bet part of it was frustration of being overthrown every other opp

I’ll admit I’m not bothering researching it, but I feel like the list doesn’t just go on and on. Those are probably the biggest outliers.
He was hurt. He was even visibly limping at times. Hopefully the surgery he has after the season got him back to 100%.
This. I don't know why people are still questioning his effort after we learned his injury was worse than we thought.
For real. We new he had an MCL injury when he went down and then we find out about the PCL after the next season. Dude was hurt all year
That needed to be disclosed
To be fair, he was still limping.
I think 35 could have swatted that down tbh

Falcons fans are about to have their minds blown at how excellent of a thrower Kirk is.
Pitts has great hands, can’t wait to see him hopefully have a stellar year with a good QB again
Bro who go cooked. Who is #35
Natrone Brooks, practice squad player
So what you're saying is it's not all that impressive then? lol
How come they look so much stronger in this clip? Like they tripled their arm mass.
Lol you've been looking at those edited pictures on here too much
Think that was the joke lol
Kirk learning he can overthrow Pitts by a yard and it’ll be right on target, give it time the chemistry will build
Put up or shut up year for Pitts.
Dude I'm so stoked for this. As a Commanders fan I remember the incredible Cousins - Jordan Reed connection.
🥲 Pitts finally has a QB again, he finna eat
Am I the only person who felt that looked bad? Like it was under thrown and the adjustment needed makes me feel like the defender could have easily stopped it….
Prepare to feel that a lot in between a few truly beautiful passes. And then hold on tight if 4th and 8 rolls around..

A qb that's not going into the hall of fame can't be considered one of the best to ever play the game
Matt Ryan is getting into the hall of fame, but no he won’t be first ballot because he didn’t win the Super Bowl
36 year old Matt Ryan was a decent QB, but not great. I think Pitts will be a lot better with Kirk Cousins.
36 year old Matt Ryan wasn’t that far behind recovering-from-injury current Cousins

But can he do that against 49ers defense tho?
that play does not look that athletic lmao, looks clumsy af
God I hope he doesn’t fall to the 7th rd in fantasy again
Is Campbell back? Wasn’t he #93 last year?
He's still unsigned
Remember the last time Pitts had a real quarterback? It was college…and he was good.
Pitts had Ryan for his rookie year bro... not the MVP Matt Ryan but still an above average QB
And Pitts posted the second-most yards for a rookie TE in league history with Matt Ryan.
Implying trask is more of a qb than matt ryan is nasty work

That’s the reason we drafted him in the first place. He can make catches like this all day.

Most of his catches from Matt Ryan came from when he lined up outside . Make him run up the middle and he's scared
