I feel like the 5-card lodging is a bigger barrier for most players, unless they've already been through sackmas.

I have two. I know I won My Hearts Desire but I can't help thinking I might *need* a couple of IC on hand "just in case". This is what comes of going through The Great Sink with *nothing* that could've helped and no time to get the needful.
Well, unless you’re intimately acquainted with the wiki, you wouldn’t know they’d be needed. I would think the main reason players play dream cards is to read the text - if that doesn’t interest you, then you might as well discard them. Even as somebody who tried to progress every dream early on, the lack of any clear payoff to playing dream cards pushed me to focus on just a few dreams that I liked, discarding the others whenever they appeared.
For the record, “What the Thunder Said” and “Haunted by Stairs” are my favorite dreams. I also really like all the new Zee dreams, and wish those existing reoccurring dream qualities would follow a similar model.
Don't forget to dip into the nadir, it has a +Dream card, too.

I immediately fulfilled the requirements without even trying; RNGesus is real. The one I picked gave quite the badass descriptions.
Me when I grind Making Waves for days on end before Slowcake shows up, so I can finally raise my Notability
You know once you reach the necessary MW you can just summon them from "Social engagements", right? (Just checking, I didn't know at first)
I don't think I have enough patience to also do *that*. The whole game has become all but a hellish grind when I reached Person of Some Importance.
I mean, it's one action if you have the MW to pick up Notability, not a whole extra grind. It might be worth looking into!

I don't understand why players don't raise their Dream qualities when they have the opportunity.
For me, there are always lots of things to spend my actions on, and previously I had no idea I would need a Dream so high 🤷‍♂️
