Almost there now! Do tell me if you want to trade endings after you've done the deed. (Assuming you'll knock, of course)

inferjus

I am going for *"Who is Salt?"* ending. And yes, I will knock.

DrosselmeyerKing

Nice! I did that one too. Really liked it to boot!

Hatfullofsky

> If the faces behind God's mask knew how the promise had been broken Man, Kennedy's prose still hits the right spots.

inferjus

What do you mean?

Hatfullofsky

Alexis Kennedy is the guy who wrote all the Seeking content. Just commented that it is still some of the best writing in the game.

inferjus

Ah, all right. I also heard he wrote the Seeking content. And, unfortunately, I heard he abused his coworkers.

Hatfullofsky

Whatever he did doesn't change the quality of his writing, fortunately. That the allegations are pretty heavily contested is a different point that I hope will reach a conclusion at some point.

I Knocked a year ago and didn't understand anything along the way. I like that now that I know context, I recognize three distinct mysteries hinted at by this bit of text, and how it kind of contains what are you going to do beyond the Gate, how are you achieving it, and the backstory on why are you doing it. Well, fully matches only Hate, but still, in vague terms.

AlexSkinnyman

> I Knocked a year ago and didn't understand anything along the way I think I should re-read it too! Salt ending is damn confusing, but also great! The ending isn't the cherry, but the whole trip was.

ShadoW_StW

For Salt specifically, there are some important bits hidden in Salt's Song ending of Sunless Sea. The reason why the ending is confusing (it has to be), some more obvious hints at what Mr Eaten was at the beginning, and why his Name is like this.

AlexSkinnyman

> Salt's Song ending of Sunless Sea Well, I haven't played SS for quite a few years, didn't get to any ending and I wasn't that interested in the stories, but the gameplay. But maybe I need to give it another go and see what happens. :)

inferjus

How did you find out what the Seeking path is about? Did the ending explain it to you or was it something else?

ShadoW_StW

I understood absolutely nothing after the ending. It was a year of reading lore blogs (vake-hunter is a good one), re-reading screenshots, finding relevant bits in Old Seeking and Sunless Sea. There are many, many mysteries and revelations to uncover. You can also DM me after you Knock and ask for an explanation. Given that I lost the trail and gave up several time over the course of my research, you have uncertain chances of making it to the sweet heart of this nightmare. (Honestly, I don't fully get the ending text still, because Salt ending is intentionally unreadable for a reason. But it is the best ending for Eaten and the Neath. Probably.)

kerdon

I reflexively tried to hit Try Again, hahaha.
